[UPD1] A few new pictures added
The evolution for the recently revealed Pokémon Amaura has been leaked by the website Jeux Video. Its name is Aurorus and has a new attack called Freeze-Dry which is super effective against Water-type Pokémon and may freeze opponents! Update: IGN has now released some pictures of Tyrantrum, Tyrunt’s evolution. It can learn Head Smash.
Game Details
In addition to the two new Pokémon, various game outlets got to play Pokémon X & Y and have revealed some small additions to the games.
- New Kalos Pokémon will not be receiving Mega Evolutions, only Pokémon from generations 1 through 5
- It’s official, Masuda has confirmed that the overworld will not be in 3D, only battles and some special scenes
- PokéCenters will now feature an area to customize trainer appearance alongside the medical area and PokéMart
- Pokémon now gain XP when the wild opponent is captured
- Professor Sequioa asks you to run an errand at the start of the game: delivering a letter to your mother

Amaura and its evolution are both probably based on Amargasaurus. The artist of the above picture has depicted it with skin sails similar to the two Pokémon, but recent theories speculate that the rows of spikes probably stood on their own without any connecting tissue.

I made up a stat prediction for Tyrantrum
Hp: 110
Atk: 140
Def: 60
Sp Atk: 40
Sp Def: 55
Spd: 105
Total: 510
No idea if this will be even close but I felt like it would be a somewhat bulky, speedy sweeper with massive attack.
I’ll say at least 495 since that’s the same for every other starter except for Aerodactyl(515) and Archeops(567) but I’d prefer 510 over 495 and those stats seem plausible
Archeop’s terrible ability may factor into its better stats though. What if Tyrantrum had less Attack and more Def and Sp. Def and then its ability boosted its biting attacks by a worthwhile amount?
That looks like a Darmanitan Clone
I gave it slightly higher speed and Hp but they both are meant to have the same function/mold hitting as hard as possible with physical attacks, I may have overshot the Bst a bit too.
I thinks its a bit too high. But I do agree if it’s exactly a Darmanitan clone
I would want it to have a similar or higher attack than Rampardos given its bite strength. Lacking this though, the above seems reasonable, especially as it seems likely to receive Dragon Dance.
I really don’t want it to have terrible defenses like rampardos…

Prof. Sequoia might be that mystery Holocaster woman who looks to be introducing Pokémon Global Link to us. We’ve been hearing names fly around (like Patrice from the PokéBeach rumors) and hearing there’s gonna be more than one professor, yet we’ve still haven’t gotten anything concrete official. Well, seeing as Professor Sycamore has been given a first name in English, I’m gonna go ahead and put the names together and say she will possibly be known as Professor Patrice Sequoia. She could also be making an appearance in the anime. I remember someone posting a pic from one of the anime trailers that showed what looked to be a leg of a woman wearing heels next to the starter Pokémon, though I can’t find that pic. :/

ugh…government money for your recreational devices, to be honest being a working tax-payer and student, this pisses me off especially since I am working, received many scholarships, and still have to take out loans for school, when other people don’t actually have to allocate numerous entitlements for academic expenses. It really diminishes some of the merit of social programs. Further, for those who receive these funds and spend responsibly, this type of behavior makes them look bad.
I don’t receive grants nor money from parents, because I am a self-sufficient adult. Being a mooch on society isn’t something to brag about, and these behaviors collectively have much to do with the terrible entitlement budgeting issues of the Federal Government.
It’s not like it’s his fault when he gets money oô I know, life is hard and stuff, but what should he do? Use the money as a wallpaper?

Yes, the governement has the duty to tell you for what you pay. In this case, taxpayers paid because other people have the right to get money from the governement in specific cases. If you’d be in his schoolar position, you would get the money too and could decide on your own what to do with it.
It would be nonsense for him to buy a second computer (obviously he has one for commenting here) or more food when he’s not hungry. If he has enough money, he can spend it for recreational devices.
If you want, you can see your taxes being paid for all that “important” stuff, while he paid his games from his other money, from work or parents or what else. But that does not make any difference – He has a specific amount of money which he deserves and he can use at will.
Sorry, but being low income and getting scholarships from the government does not equal “he should be able to buy whatever” with OUR tax dollars. His level of legibility in the way he types on here clearly proves it was NOT an academic achievement scholarship.
If all other costs are taken care of, why would he need additional money for recreational spending?
In the future, he will have many living expenses, to say that he doesn’t need the money for academic or living purposes pretty much establishes why he shouldn’t receive that money as an entitlement.

Just to be clear, buying 1 game ($40) is tolerable, but not spending a G on nothing but gaming entertainment. Our government is a joke anyways, and people work the system all the time unfortunately. A lot of people that are in low income housing have nicer cars and better electronics than most middle class families. Its a sad, sad reality.
Legally, he cannot spend those funds on other non-academic resources. It is his fault; there are numerous other things that he could spend the money on legally, he doesn’t have the right to choose to not spend it on academic resources or living expenses.

If the governement wants to limit the ways to use, the money isn’t given directly. Only the governement has the duty to tell what they are doing with the taxpayers money, but not the people who are “helped” by the governement.

Nope. I know they’ll get Megas in the future. This enables us to appreciate the way they are now, just like we have with every other past Pokemon. No need to rush into Mega improvements for the new Pokemon when we don’t even know how they play yet.

They haven’t taken away any form changes given to us in the previous games that are item specific, I doubt they’ll take these away.
Sorry for being off topic but I need to say something, about that genwunner article. They haven’t been bugging very much, lately it has been the gen three people that grind my gears. Everywhere on the internet is “This is evidence of gen three remakes.” and I hate it. Why not let the pokemon people do what they do.

Personally gen 3 was a big let down for me at the time. Only a pokedex of 200. No postgame. And in my opinion, I wasn’t too fond of the gen 3 pokemon

But when dumbasses like that find the tiniest excuse to yell out “Gen 3 remakes confirmed” it really pisses me off…Same with I think it’s Half Life 3 or something like that. It’s more annoying than Gen1 people…all we can hope for is the remakes so they’ll shut up. (though i honestly want the remakes myself but i’m not going to act like that over them being made).

No. Trading as we have done since Gen IV will remain, but there is now a new random trade option that you put something up to be traded, and you have no idea what you’ll get back. But you can completely still trade with people you know.

Then again, Serena has yet to have had any sort of goal revealed. Ash obviously will seek gym badges, while I suspect Clemont’s reason for traveling will have something to do with inventing, and Bonnie’s just a tag-along. I don’t even know what to think about Serena. If she takes after the Serena in the game, then she’ll be more like a rival than a companion, but then I don’t see her traveling with Ash. Her pink matches Dawn’s pink and could hint at Contests, but that’s still a long shot. Unless she wants to be a type specialist (and I can’t see that based on her only seeming to get her first Pokemon in the first XY episode) or specialize in Sky Battles, I can’t see a point to her being there yet. I doubt (but really want) Contests will return in the game, but maybe the anime may have them exclusively, like Kanto had them in Battle Frontier.
Since Serena is ash’s childhood friend there needs to be some chemistry between them xD

I’m disappointed about they usage of the 3D function… It was rumoured for days know and now it’s official. I think it is a bad decision… If you dislike the 3D effect, you can switch it off, but you can’t make it yourself ._.
Also it’s not logical to give no 6th gen Pokémon a mega evolution ._. Why shouldn’t they be able to awake their full potential? Not fair! I’m disappointed about that ._.

3D is referring to auto-stereoscopic 3D modeling. 2D is referring to just 3D modeling without auto-stereoscopy (the 3D slider)

My only issue with this theory is that she doesn’t really dress as a scientist. Juniper always had a lab coat on, even when contacting you through the x-gear

Personally I don’t like Amaura designs, it looks worse than a fakemon, btw I like the Dino fossils concept for this generation. There are a lot of Dinos and animals that aren’t in pokemon world yet!

Really Sugimori!? I was so disappointed with the official art, and then I looked at the 3DS screenshots and was like, wow, they don’t do Aurorus any justice; Aurorus looks great in the screenshots, yet looks like a fakemon in the official art!

Even the official art pieces that weren’t half bad looking looked WAY better in a screen shot.
Dreamworld art should either take over as our official art our Sugimori should regress back to his original art style.

The in-game shots always look weird to me. When I first saw the evos of these two in the in-game shots I didn’t like them(particularly Tyrantrum), but now that I see the official art they actually look pretty

A couple hours ago I posted a Bst prediction for Tyrantrum, so I’d thought I’d wipe one up for Amaura.
Hp: 140
Atk: 40
Def: 90
Sp Atk: 100
Sp Def: 90
Spd: 50
Bst: 510
The Base Stat total may be a bit high as most fossil Pokemon have a base stat total of 495 if that’s the case you can subtract 15 from Sp Atk. I felt like Amaura would be fairly bulky and slow basically a tank, I can’t really see it being fast and though Ice/rock is a bad defensive typing I still feel like it would most likely be a tank.
This is much more reasonable…..considering the fact that Refrigerate boosts normal moves and gives then ice STAB so 100 base SpAtk makes sense. And It will need high HP will all of its weaknesses.
I second Aurorus as a tank.
