  1. I’m sick of these quiet days, my brain is going to mush from lack of intellectual conversation and stimulation (granted that’s from a number of things)
But other than that I need to wait for the websites to update the Mario odyssey guides for later levels to help find the last stragglers

  2. I got my Shiny Silvally downloaded. Pretty much done with SM. I guess I could do a quick check to see if I have all the megastones. they NEED to make bank allow items. It’s going to e so frustrating trading over all the SM exclusive items or just items in general.
+ Pokemon merch looks amazing, I might just make a room in my house pokemon only. They all look so great.

  3. Now I’m actually done with Odyssey (in terms of the final level), but that secret ending still remains. Who knows if I’m insane enough to do that though. Basically, it’ll be coasting through from now on. For anyone in post-game, I really do recommend that you push a little more because it’s worth seeing through…

    • I’m working my way up I just finished cap and cascade kingdom 100% and I’m almost finished with Sand Kingdom with only 3 moons left and 6 coins

      414 moons in total

      Reply
      • Sounds good! My method will be going from the kingdoms with the smallest total Moon count and working up to the largest. I won’t say which those are because it’s a spoiler. I’m at 531 moons now, and I don’t know if I’ll play any more today (although I’ll probably make time). It’s so hard not to talk about the game in its entirety, I can’t wait until I can!

  4. Yay, more adorable rowlet merch and more hideous popplio merch. They seriously don’t know what to do with that thing. Bitch looks like a kite with its arms spread out like that.

*****And that Moon figurine with the starters looks like it has a cameltoe lmaooooo

  5. Time to acknowledge the article! I really like that Lapras plush, its well designed and seems pretty large. I’d own that any day!

  6. Even though that Pyukumuku plush probably doesn’t make its’ awesome sound and doesn’t puke out its’ innards I still want it.
I think the Shiny Silvally event starts Friday here so I’ll have to wait until at least the following week.

  7. Whew, short weekend. I really wish I would’ve had more time to dedicate to Odyssey, since it’s sooooo amazing, but unfortunately it had to take the back burner this weekend to school projects and stress. I’m only at the 4th kingdom, but I have about 90 moons, and I’m having a blast. What a great year the Switch is having.

    • You have a lot of incredible things coming your way! I hope you will be able to appreciate it as much as I have this weekend. Throughout my adventure I felt like a little kid again…I actually laughed, nearly cried, and gasped more than once. The last time I did that was with, well, Breath of the Wild. For a while I wondered, how can Nintendo possibly expand on Super Mario Galaxy in a meaningful way? It must be impossible! But in my opinion, the impossible is what Nintendo does now in a post-2017 world. Now I’m REALLY stumped as to what they can do next…but they will do it! I look forward to hearing your final thoughts……….

  8. Hi my friends! I have returned! Just another time consuming eventful day

Watching Halloween movies, carving my pumpkins, getting my Oshawott costume together (I did nothing, I need to go out tomorrow on my mom’s birthday to make it), finally got my Carmel Apple cookies done (They are burnt, but delicious), making my bed and thinking of new Pokémon ideas

I think my Dew Pokémon will draw some interest because its going to have an interesting ability and set up (Its a 3 stage one and its going to be tough)

    • Happy to hear you’re getting in the spirit of the holiday! Honestly I haven’t taken Halloween seriously for quite a while, even though it’s an awesome holiday. I’ll definitely watch Nightmare Before Christmas on Halloween night, which has been a tradition of mine for a long time.

      Reply
      • I tend to watch it around christmas since it’s usually on TV then. Last year I saw it in the cinema for the first time (though it was in converted 3D). It’s one of my favourite movies.

        Reply
        • Good taste. It’s on Netflix (which I use frequently these days), so I’m planning on watching it there. Something about this movie brings me back to my childhood!

          Reply
          • I’ll have to see if it’s on Netflix here, though I might just wait until christmas. It’s such a shining example of a good holiday movie and it works for 2.

    • I’ll probably watch a halloween movie, if Hocus Pocus, Casper, The Addams Family or Ghostbusters are on I’ll watch those, if not I’ll probably watch Frankenweenie. I did watch The Black Cauldron yesterday which kind of fits. I doubt I’ll watch an actual horror movie.

  9. I just finished Stranger Things 2, concluding what will go down as THE most legendary pop culture weekend of my lifetime, by FAR. I’ll be honest, it took a while for it to pick up steam for me (giving me more of a reason to rewatch it next year), but it definitely delivered by the end. Made me feel just as warm, if not warmer, than the first season. Bring on Stranger Things 3, and Super Mario Odyssey 2, and everything. As always, I have to be Mr. Dramatic and say that both of these things combined have made me feel like life has so much more possibility and creativity than I thought…and it gives me real hope that I was missing. It feels like the end of a good dream. Thank you Nintendo, thank you Duffer Brothers, and good night to all. Back to my regularly scheduled programming. And USUM hype, of course.

    • Warning: spoilers from stranger things 2 I loved Eleven’s character development. Even though the Kali episode was a bit cliche X-men, i teared up in the El and Mike reunion scene :’) And the scene where she closed the gate in the finale was pure epic.

    • ST2 definitely had a slow start but really picked up after episode 4ish. I must say that the later episodes really tugged at my heart strings lol

      • Episode 6 was where I really remember laughing out loud and enjoying it a lot. The next three episodes kept up the pace really well.

  10. 18th place goes to Mina. Which is very surprising. I could have swore you guys loved Mina. Oh well shes gone now. She didnt really have a role in SM, so that’s ok with me. I honestly dont even know her character. She lad those lazy eyes, so I thought she was the lazy but strong/smart archetype, but didnt even have a totem and she was always out and about. I dont even know why she gave the fairium Z crystal. Weird character

Alolan Persian will be for sure Joey (after my cat that Looks like AloPersian)

          • If I hate Inci then I wont let it be Inci. I think you forget that Im the one in charge in the pokemon-human relationship. It’s not whether they want to be evolved are not. I stay the leader

        • Or you could just not minimise their comment if it bugs you

Do I like Inci? Yes. Do I care that Casc is keeping it at a stage they prefer? Not really. Power to them really, I’m too basic to not evolve a level up mon XD

  17. So in Hoenn I’m following my dream to become a top class co-ordinator and I’ve realised something.
Contests are really good and more exiciting in ORAS.
Heck ORAS are bloody amazing save the lack of BF possibly the best games in the series.
How do people find time to dislike ORAS?

    Reply
    • I don’t dislike it, I just don’t find as replayable as other games (Never liked the selection of the first few areas. Giving primarily Water or Grass types meaning unless you don’t mind over lap your limited to a small pool of teammates)

      Reply
      • Well I’d probably say same about Sinnoh although I expect Sinnoh remakes to fix that and they’ll be amazing.
Well in ORAS you get the dex nav? Which creates great diversity and realism in catching.
Surely there’s so much more to judge a game on than your early game perception?? 🙂

        Reply
        • Meh I just found that the beginning of the game is the most crucial part cause you build your legacy and need the right partners early to gain appeal

The middle is the fun part when you get to bond and play with your Pokémon

The end is when your team starts to or gets serious facing the threat of the evil team and you must train hard and keep your Pokémon in shape to keep up with the pace

          Reply
          • To be fair you do get a variety just before you reach Rustboro such as
Tailow, Poochyena, Zigzagoon, Wurmple, Ralts and Slakoth. Pelipper is also part flying.
Being a tropical region there naturally will be plenty of water types!
As you hit Mauville/Lavaridge areas you get more variety.
Honestly I feel Sinnoh would be worse and maybe BW Unova imo.
Hoenn also has dex nav which helps get rare egg moves or abilities etc

    • I think I disliked ORAS initially because I hyped up battle frontier to the point it was the only thing I was expecting and since it didnt deliver + the fact that it was the easiest game to the point where it was boring, I strongly disliked ORAS.

Now after realizing the amazing megas it introduced. The beautiful graphics. The amazng contests. And the convenience of everything that ORAS brought. I’ve to really adore the games. It’s too bad that it took me so long to understand.

      Reply
      • Absolutely! The no BF made me so unhappy but I eventually got over it even tho it’s like the best post game feature.
Then again the vastness of Hoenn/ORAS, the subtle details, the well polished region, delta episode and all the refinements to a great game as well as crazy features like soaring and dex nav make these games unbelievably good.
And now I’m tryna realise that there’s life after the BF which makes ORAS more fun!

        Reply
    • I honestly don’t have a specific reason. I just found ORAS to be boring and just unexciting for some reason. and it was honestly the only Pokemon game I forced myself to finish.

      Reply
      • Aside from difficulty and lack of BF, I think the games strong points are the region, the focus on adventure and the fun aspect like the dex nav and detail the game has.
I guess we all have preferences!

        Reply
      • Yeah I love contests like in the anime.
To be fair ORAS did expand them greatly. We have Zinnia playing a huge role and the contests themselves are far better and more graphical with animations and special moves etc
I believe ORAS has more rivals too!

    • Wow time to bust out the long lists, to keep it from getting vertically annoying I will use go left to right (first is best; last is worst)
      Electric>Dragon>Fairy>Flying>Psychic>Ghost>Steel>Ice>Water>Fire>Poison>Dark>Fighting>
      Bug>Grass>Rock>Normal>Ground

So I made some changes since last time (idk if you guys remember)
First off, I really cannot decide if I like Electric types or Dragon types more, it’s always a constant internal battle.
I moved Rock types from last to 15th. I realized rock types have amazing moves, and when they have a cool pokemon it really is cool. So they are no longer my least favorites.
I moved fighting from 17th to 13th because I love fighting type moves. And I just how powerful they are.
I moved Ground type to my least favorite type because well I was going through the list of ground types and realized, barely anything stuck out to me. Literally they were all below average or avrage. And they only have EQ as the only cool move. All in all I dont like ground types. They just suck looks wise. Theyre all boring. Ground type worst type

However, the rest of my team members will consist of some of the team I had for the PJ anime thing. So this is my team so far now:
    -Incineroar
    -Araquanid
    -Dedenne
    -Metagross
    -Flygon

And not sure about the last one. Maybe a special attacker I like in the old or new Alola Dex? Or a special Pokémon from Gen 7.

  23. Pokedex Number: 193
    Cowabunga
    Classification: The Wave Catcher Pokemon
    Height: 6’03
    Weight: 287.3 Lbs
    Typing: Water/Fighting
Ability: Wave Shredder/Swift Swim (Hidden Ability: Reckless)
    Stats:
    HP: 68
    Attack: 120
    Defense: 65
    Special Attack: 65
    Special Defense: 65
    Speed: 130
    Base Stat Total: 513
Pokedex Entry: Cowabunga are said to have impeccable balance that not even the harshest waves can disrupt. This allows them to perform a myriad of different tricks while riding their boards across the water. The horns of a Cowabunga are perfectly symmetrical and are the assumed cause of their incredible balance. Surfers frequently make fake horns resembling that of a Cowabunga and wear then into contests hoping that the horns make them them win.

Wave Shredder: All Water attacks made by the user become physical. Additionally, using more water moves in a row allows the user a higher chance to crit while the chance is lowered if the user doesn’t use them in a row.

I’m starting dislike its name (and maybe it pre-evo’s name too), but it’s like the Rockruff of my region

It’s a Coyote Pokémon that’s pure dark type at first, but if evolved in a cave or desert area it becomes Dark/Ground, Cold area’s result in Dark/Ice and in any other area it stays dark type

They are Coykit and Coyowler. Think the names need to go? (Coyowler just gets weird to say after while)

Joules the Electivire (Platinum) – Strong physical attacker with amazing coverage, would be an amazing addition.

Garret the Glalie (Mega, AS) – Super late addition to my AS team, but an absolute murderer. Mega or not, this guy’s always got my back.

Viri the Lilligant (W2) – Sleep Powder. Quiver Dance. Giga Drain. Slay queen slay.

Grape the Azumarill (AS Water Mono) – Huge Power Azumarill. Nuff said.

Sasha the AloPersian (Another Sun run) – Killed everyone and tanked everything. An absolute legend.

      • Oh and some stories about them:
Enfuego: One of the Pokémon I’m currently using in my B2 run, Enfuego was a Pokémon I fought so hard to stick with me till level 45. And after all the training and evolving, Enfuego became a powerful, versatile ally on my team, incinerating everything on sight with Flare Blitz and Heat Wave.

Ruby: I just want say, Surf/Ice Beam/Psychic/Recover worked PERFECTLY with this starfish mon. It dished out diverse attacks while also healing up itself without the need of wasting Potions. Thank God Starmie had Recover back in Gen 1

Sol: Before I discuss about Sol, I just realized half of this team consists of Pokémon which evolve through stones lol. Anyway, Sol’s Parabolic Charge really helps it stay alive at the best times, and it was just always funny and satisfying one-shotting Lysandre’s Gyardos with Sol.

Muss L Mann: Perhaps the second GOAT of a Pokémon I’ve ever had, Muss was, quite literally, the definition of OPM in the Pokémon World. Nothing would survive an Adamant Hammer Arm from this thing.

Ceros: Quite a powerful and elusive attacker on my Johto Team, Ceros peppered every opponent he faced with an unresisted moveset. Also I just love Heracross’s design so much 😀

Axe This: Because there’s nothing cooler than having a Dragon with axes as tusks on your team.

    • Splash the Samurott (W2)- One of the first starters I can say has pulled all the way through and stuck it out to the end with Me

Marty the Togedemaru (Moon)- This thing took leaps and bounds and fought great everywhere. And I say is the all star of that game

Heracross (White)- Wow seriously wow was this the all-star of the Post-game as it was my first non Unovan catch (was 10 levels higher than my next highest) and could just about smash anything in its wake. (Current location unknown as I lost my White version)

Magnet the Magnezone (also W2)- This thing took out a team of 4 80’s level Legendaries (I already beat 2 others) single handedly at level 75, it held its own in most battles including being the ace that beat Marlon.

Glice the Glalie (AS)- another top tier Post game member holding its own in most battles with being able to hit 3 sheer colds in a row to take on all 3 Hoenn starters

Sylveon (X)- My most pampered team member and my first legit lvl.100 (I don’t count my Empoleon from when I was 7) and it was by far my most over leveled member in a Pokémon game thus far being level 80 by the time of Diantha

Yep these are my most powerful memorable 6 ever

I saw it as the Rock type would beat Fire, Psychic would beat Fighting, and Fighting would beat Rock. Plus it would be a pretty cool way for all 3 starters for balancing each other.

  33. Speaking of things Gamefreak would never do because they hardly believe in retcons:

Hoopa and Giratina are Ultra Beasts.

Hoopa can freely create Ultra Wormholes with its rings, and Giratina is an invader from an Ultra World (the distortion world) that had to be sent back by Dialga, Palkia, and Arceus… or are they UBs too?

Hire me Gamefreak I literally just wrote the plot twist for Gen 4 remakes

    Reply
    • But Giratina was banished to the distortion world, not from there. So that would mean Arceus would be an ultra beast because it had to create a portal to send Giratina there in the first place. But I think the clear distinction we have to make is that ultra beasts are from worlds other than pokemon-earth. Arceus and the creation trio are beyond that, not from anything really because they created it all. The only pokemon that I think could fit being an Ultra beast would be Deoxys because we don’t know where it’s from.

      • Damn you’re right… okay so easy fix Giratina is banished to Ultra Space… idk I really want them to bring back Ultra Beasts I love them

        Reply
        • I think you could definitely make an argument for the Distortion World being an Ultra World/Ultra space. It fits the few characteristics that we know of it. Devoid of pokemon life save for the one species that inhabits it. But Giratina def is not an “ultra beast” I would think. Honestly though it gets hard to make distinctions in pokemon sometimes because often the mythology we rely on is limited.

          Reply
          • Sometimes 😉 I think my main issue is that it needs to be expanded upon. They made a god pokemon and then locked it away within the game. The most we even know about it comes from a Wifi event from HGSS where we literally see it create a legendary pokemon

      • But really the bottom line is that “Ultra Beast” is just a term to describe something scientists couldn’t classify and study, so they couldn’t understand them. When you get down to it, they’re really just pokemon. Not quite something separate from pokemon. They just have special characteristics.

Like I get that an Adamant Conkeldurr would definitely one-shot Black Kyurem, but the main reason why I’m dying is because of all the build up and planning Ghetsis had for this very moment. Ghetsis went through 2 years of rebuilding Team Plasma, breaking out of prison, constructing a Pirate Ship with an ice cannon, finding Kyurem, finally getting the DNA Splicers, and finally fusing Zekrom to get 2/3 of the original dragon and freeze Unova,

Only for a regular mon you would find in a Unovan cave to Plus Ultra the living thing out of Kyurem the instant after Ghetsis fused it.

  39. Anyone here NOT interested in the Switch?

I had a Wii U for Bayonetta 2 (the only game I had) but couldn’t afford Wiimotes for other games. I eventually sold it bc I didn’t use it for anything, since all my other games were on 3DS or Xbox 360 (including Bayonetta 1). I don’t really like Mario or care about Zelda or the other Nintendo exclusives. Well, Splatoon looked cool, but I didn’t have the money. Sold mine ages before Pokken came out.

I played some Devil May Cry games, and a Tomb Raider game, and I still play Skyrim sometimes. Lollipop Chainsaw was the first Xbox game I got, and I’ve played that at least 3 times.

I’m not knocking the Switch: I’ve never played it. Is there anyone else who just doesn’t care?

  48. Spooky Regional Form!
    Slavian Dusknoir
    Ghost/Steel
A trainer from a far away regiom released left two Dusclops alone on a scrapyard in the Slavy region. Out of vengance, they absorbed many machine parts and Evolved into half-robot Dusknoirs that looked for its cruel trainer so they can devour him, but he escaped. Today when a Dusclops in Slavy evolves, it’s half-robot too and looking for that one cruel trainer.

(Evolves from Dusclops when given Machine Parts (an item))

    Reply
    • I’ve got a few issues with it

      – If it’s the Dusclops that did the actual adaption, it doesn’t make sense they stay the same.

      – idk, I know AkoRaichu is design over reason but something about this just doesn’t rub me the right way. Ghosts can pretty much go wherever they want, so why would they stay in the scrapyard when normal Dusknoir is resourceful enough to hunt someone down? Especially when their existing form isn’t hindered by corporeal machine parts. At least AloChu has fan theories and has the excuse of being the mascot’s evo

      – I don’t think it’s either subversive, referential, or expected enough to be justified. Like, Maro/Exegg/Rai are all references to something involving the Pokémon, whilst Ninetales and Persian reflect real life changes, whilst Sandslash is so subversive that it works. Idk, most of this is just my opinion

      • -Dusclops managed to evolve using Machine parts instead of Reaper Cloth
-They needed to become more powerful to chase the trainer down, they needed to evolve and there wasn’t any Reaper Cloth near by
-It’s kinda based on Haunted Animatronics/Robots and it seems fitting for me, as Dusclops is known for being hollow and devouring objects

        Reply
        • But it was only these two Dusclops that managed to evolve by using the machine parts so I don’t find sensible how every other Dusclops now learns how to do it just because 😡

And it doesn’t really fit with Dusclops’ lore or the Pkm at all just like Seraphu said

          Reply
          • They weren’t any other Duskull/clops/noir in the Slavy region. They are all descendants of these two half-robot Dusknoir

          • Dusclops have simple thoughts and can devour anything. They felt the need for vengence, so they absorbed Machine parts to get stronger and managed to evolve with them instead of a Reaper Cloth because there weren’t any Reaper Clothes near by.

    • *shivering violently* d-dude…. that’s not… how dusknoir works… it drags people into the spirit world… ITS LITERALLY THE LAST FUCKING GHOST THAT WOULD EVER BECOME PART STEEL!! WHY WOULD SOMETHING THAT ESSENTIALLY CONNECTS ANOTHER REALITY GROUND ITSELF MORE IN A PHYSICAL FORM?!

  49. Fakemon concept that’s gonna be torn to shreds because I hate myself

    Illian Solosis line

Electric/Steel-type, based on an individual metal atom, then a metallic lattice. It’s physically inclined rather than specially. Solosis is a grey metallic orb with some red and green details, in the middle of a glowing yellow aura, surrounded by small blue orbs. Duosion is a larger steel orb with a much smaller orb attached above it and another attached under it. Reuniclus follows this design theme, having arms made of these metallic orbs and an electrical aura. Has the abilities Plus and Minus, and the Hidden Ability Repulsion, which immediately inflicts Magnet Rise on all Steel and Electric-types upon switching in.

They fled underground to avoid Diurnal Arabolas, their greatest predator in Illiux. They began absorbing metallic minerals through their membrane, and eventually emerged as magnetic creatures themselves. It has noticeably taken over the absent Magnemite’s role in Illiux.

Diurnal Arabolas is a large, cowboy themed bolas spider, Bug/Dark. It uses its thread as a lasso.

  57. Background on Candief and Sugurglar

Candief is the spirit of a child who perished on Halloween. It’s desire to be alive again and its refusal to ditch the only part of its personality it retains (its childishness) lead it to seek candy, a constant reminder of its past. It will frequently play mischievous tricks to get candy but never acts out of malice. Once it evolves, it’s obsession with candy increases and FORCES it to have a constant supply or it is drowsy and unable to function. This leads to it peformimg any deed, no matter how vile, to get candy. It is possible to ween it off candy but it still needs constant sweetness regardless

      • That was a fun one to design
Think about a white featureless creature kinda like a chao from sonic, two nub like arms and legs and a small reptile tail and big eyes and antenna but it’s tail is stabbed into the ground and from the tip is a crude 2d shadow with angry eyes constantly following it, the shadow feels the pain of its host so it doesn’t allow it to be harmed, slinking from the shadows to strike anywhere

The body barely acknowledges its shadow’s efforts (it’s a very…oblivious Pokemon) when night falls the shadow grows its strongest but is still like linked to the body so it can’t roam around

    • Mine are:
Vimpere-Fire/Ghost a Vampire Viper Final starter evo
Decapitis-Bug/Ghost a male Mantis with its head bitten off after mating
Firit-Ghost/Fire an Autumn Flame Ghost with two forms (Soul form and Nightmare form)
Hauntdrawn -> Artialize-Ghost to Ghost/Normal a Ghost that used its Art to make itself a physical body

And 2 Tale Pokemon (kinda like Ultra Beast for my games but not alien) and few Regional Forms but I’m too lazy to write about them

    • I guess I should say mine too (note None of my are 100% solid and the region us no where near finished)
-An unnamed haunted Scarecrow- Either Ghost or Ghost/Fairy (compliments to Ultron for the idea of Fairy)
-A Skeletal Dinosaur made of bones and Rocks- Rock/Ghost
-My regional bug is a Beetle that is part ghost and gains Ghost in the cocoon- Bug/Ghost
      -And my Kabuki Mythical- Psychic/Ghost

I don’t have all of them done so yeah

  59. What happens when you breed two things that REALLY SHOULDN’T BE BREEDING OVER AND OVER AGAIN nonstop?
