RUMOR: Images Show Final Froakie, Chespin Evolutions & New Pokémon

These are not necessarily real images, their authenticity has not been established. Please do NOT treat this as a news post, instead enjoy commenting & speculating. We will update you if any details come out to (dis)prove any of this.

We’ve marked the main image warning of Pokémon X & Y spoilers so we won’t be hiding images in these posts.

The pictures above purport to be from a review copy of Pokémon X. As you can see, they claim that this is the final evolution of Froakie, Greninja, and a new Flying/Fighting-type Pokémon called Hawlucha. The latter Pokémon also has a new Fighting-type attack called Flying Press.

UPD2: A new image has surfaced claiming to show the final evolution of Chespin from behind. This is from a different person than the person who posted Greninja & Hawlucha. UPD: Confirmed fake

The poster also mentioned that XP is also much easier to earn and that entire parties will get some from battles with the use of EXP Share, a key item found early in the game. He also mentioned that XY only introduce around 70 new Pokémon. He also said that there barely is any endgame, with you only being able to catch Mewtwo and the Z legendary.

UPD1: A new Pokémon has supposedly been photographed. No other details are currently known. Remember, we do not know if these Pokémon are real or fake, so please don’t consider them as either until they are proven one or the other.

UPD3: We broke the site record for most visits in one day! Also, be wary of all the ‘leaks’ out there, there are so much (blatant) fakes going around that the legit leaks may get lost in it!

Looking forward to reading your comments!

  1. If we infer that the person who took a picture of Hawlucha with the blue background is the same one that took the picture of the pokedex entry, then we can see that they have a camera that takes pictures backwards, even though the image is forwards. So they likely pasted the images onto the 3ds in photoshop, and then messed up the lighting to make it seem legit.

  2. It’s the perception of our minds as the release nears that leakers are more easy to believe because of the closeness of release in our grasps. I feel like we’re on a battlefield right now between fans until October 12th. It’s a bunch of he said, she said. You know? Makes you crazy real fast.

  3. So, I want to tell that we spaniards, have a holiday on the 12th, so, just saying there is a possibility I could get my hands on the games on the 11th.

So it that is true, which I’ll ask tomorrow at my shop, I will tell you everything on the 11th

    • here, I copied it from there;

I work for a magazine in the UK and got sent an email a couple of weeks ago with apparent Pokemon X & Y ‘facts’. The writer says they are from a European marketing team (did not mention which one).
I don’t really think they are true, however a couple of things were right. Posting on here to see whether any had been already confirmed as true or fakes.
I’ll post the few kinda ‘confirmed’ ones, they way they were written is not concrete which is why I doubted the rest are completely true, but at least maybe they are fun rumours to share.
Two tv spots will be launched prior to release each with a new pokemon briefly shown to gain hype. A new normal-type unevolved pokemon (the grey one in the new uk trailer?) and a new poison-type pokemon with no evolutionary line.
Three new evolutions of Gen VI pokemon will be released on the official facebook page prior to launch. (Doublade just released I guess?)
The new Starter evolutions will be released. But no final evolutions until the week leading to the 12th October. (Well true so far)
Mewtwo will have two forms, one for each game version. The second will not be announced until later on for fans to get used to the idea of mega evolutions. (This is one of the main things that made me post)
      And the rest:
Rhyhorn will be first pokemon you get to ride in-game. You cannot ride Rhydon. The pokemon you ride in-game are not available for battles. (Guessing this means they act like the bike?)
Main professor in the game will be female, with male professor (I’m guessing Sycamore?) as main plot driver.
Pokemon from all previous generations will be able to be caught in-game, making it easier to complete pokedex without having to trade or use pokemon bank service. Re-emergance of ‘Gotta Catch ‘Em All” to regain Gen 1 fanbase.
Harder to catch specific pokemon as more will be available in each route. Percentage of each pokemon appearing is lower.
All starter pokemon will get mega evolutions and one from each generation will be obtainable throughout the game as part of male professor’s research.
Not all legendaries are getting mega evolutions. There is no mega evolution for Mew, Cresselia and Genesect. They are confirmed to not have any.
No Gen V pokemon will get mega evolutions. [Mod Note: Later in the comments claims he made a typo, it’s No Gen VI Pokemon]
And this was apparently to help me?…
The European names of new pokemon are not sent to the marketing team until 3 days prior to announce, to reduce leaks. This means any names currently ‘leaked’ are fake unless revealed within the week.

  5. I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY HOPE THIS IS FAKE.
    why? well…:
    1. Hawlucha is so odd looking in that one shot with the white eyes… seriously freaking me out
    2. the froakie evo has a cool tongue and all but NO BUBBLES. why would they get rid of the awesome bubbly theme that conceals weapons right now? so much for rock pellets…
3.the rock barnacle thing looks really bad. the faces are weird, it’s blushing (which I don’t like), and it looks like two mealworms coming out of a pie
    4. exp. share is a key item now? since when?
    5. 70 new pokemon? yeah right, then they’d be almost done revealing them by now
    6. greninja? someone explain I don’t get it
    7. Barely any endgame? Yeah right, a interview confirmed that the game would be “complete”, and have a full endgame as well (correct me if i’m wrong)
    8. they let another mewtwo loose!? why!?
    9. the z legendary? predictable and how would he know? sounds like the dude beat the game in a very short amount of time, AND notice how casually he said Z legendary… like he thought we all knew already about it.
    10. is greninja even the final evo of froakie? maybe he isn’t, it didn’t necessarily say. even if this seemed to be true, he may be a TOTALLY DIFFERENT frog pokemon. hoping because of no bubbles…
so whatdya think? complaints? downvotes? tell me plz in the comments below

  6. I think that the Froakie evolution is off. But that’s just me. The 70 Pokemon and no aftergame thing is likely fake to piss people off. Froakie final evolution doesn’t look like something Game Freak would do. The bubble collar was a focal point in design for Froakie and Frogadier. It’s missing. I think the hawk is real and that the leakers are covering it up with these images and info. The rest of the images such as the Pokemon Center, Emolga battle, and overworld Kalos shots are from a separate source probably and likely real too.

  7. I haven’t thrown in my two cents in an individual comment yet, so I guess it’s time:

I agree with everyone else that it seems odd that they’d just abandon the bubble elements in Froakie’s final evolution’s design. However, how in the world could someone create something that convincing-looking in Photoshop? It would easily be one of the greatest fakes the Pokémon fandom has ever seen. Also, at this point I think we generally agree that the bird is real, and it was first shown alongside the Froakie final evolution, further pointing towards the frog ninja being real. One final thing I’d like to mention: If you are disappointed by the lack of bubbles, don’t forget that it will eventually get a Mega Evolution.

  8. It appears the pics are quite real……
    The info I doubt

If that’s the final froakie evo…..it’s gonna take me a while to get used to it’s design. Why couldn’t the scarf be made of bubbles instead of his tongue?

  9. :O Okay….
Froakie’s final evo looks awesome, although the loss of its bubbles truly makes me wonder if its fake
The barnacle thing I don’t care for, but it’s not the worst design.
The bird’s typing is cool, and the design is okay.
I’m glad the text is apparently fake, because 70 new Pokemon plus the no endgame really upset me.
The waiting game once more continues.

  10. The only thing that bothers me about Froakie’s evos tongue-scarf is…How would that even work? Like how would it function with it’s tongue constantly wrapped around its neck??
