September Corocoro Leaking! [UPD2]

[UPD2] It seems more leaks are coming any moment, as another leaker has gotten their hands on Corocoro and is uploading some pages. New, clear, and full versions of the scans we’ve seen have now been revealed, though there seems to be more to go.

[UPD1] The PokémonKorea official site has updated with details on a playable demo for XY coming to Korea. In this, they report about the Mega Evolutions. This means that Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and any other information should be taken as real as well.

This month’s issue of Corcoro has begun leaking. With new Pokémon and more! Keep checking back as we update with translations! 

On Mega Evolutions

  • “Mega” Pokemon; These new supercharged versions of their previous ones are NOT traditional evolutions or forms, but happen through a “Mega Evolution” process.
  • Mega evolutions are ONLY accessible  during battle.
  • A “Megastone” seems to be a collective term for the held items used to Mega-evolve each Pokémon. In the case of Blaziken, its Megastone is called “Blazikenite”.
  • One of the gym leaders, Coruni, hold the key to these new Mega-lutions.
  • Mega Pokémon have stat changes: Lucario gets an Attack stat boost, whilst Absol gets a boost to both Attack/Speed.
  • Unknown what the stat changes for other Mega Pokémon are.
  • Mega evolutions seem to awakened temporarily in battle by holding a megastone for some Pokémon.

Getting ‘Mega’ versions are:

  • Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, ability: Speed Boost)
  • Lucario (Steel/Fighting, ability: Adaptability)
  • Ampharos (Electric/DRAGON, ability: Mold Breaker)
  • Mawile (Steel/Fairy, ability:Huge Power)
  • Mewtwo (Psychic, ability: Insomnia)
  • Absol (Dark, ability:Magic Bounce)
  • Not all Pokemon will get Mega versions.

More could be revealed!

New Pokémon, Miscellaneous

  •  Meekuru, a Grass-type Gogoat prevolution has Sap Sipper for ability.
  •  Horubii, a Normal-type rabbit-ish Pokémon, known as the “Digging” Pokémon has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
  • Dedenne, an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon which is the “Antennae” Pokémon, has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
  • Speed Boost Torchic will be distributed with it’s “Mega Stone”; This Speed Boost Torchic with “Blazikenite” Distribution starts from the release date(October 12th) to January 15th, 2014.
  • Although cut off, what seems to be Super Training is mentioned! As previous leaks have pointed at, completing these games seems to raise Effort Values for the Pokémon that participate.
  • Also mentioned is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Pokémon.

Also confirmed is that next month’s Corocoro is to show even more Mega Evolutions, alongside an updated type chart to show off Fairy-type.

  3. Well now that it’s confirmed I’m actually happy. Though I just hope it doesn’t make people turn against X and Y.

    And I wonder what other Pokemon will get this Mega Evolution ? I’d love to see a Sableye one 😀 If Mawile gets one so should Sableye 😛

  4. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO SAY…

    Really when i seen this i just lost it! Im not really sure if it is real or not, The scans look legit but the info seems like non sense. I did expect something a little out there, I remember watching the first trailer and on the Japanese one it had the DNA symbols… However i thought it would be limited to Mewtwo not Pokemon like Blazikin. I mean Mawile is a stand alone Pokemon why not just give it a evolution?
    As far as the new Pokemon… LOL one looks like a smaller ridiculous verson of riachu, the goat i expected and the design is not to bad, and the Rabat seems like its a Fakeamon. If this is real there goes my feelings for if not loving;liking all the new pokemon designs…

  8. I think it’s kind of cool, in a way. When I was younger I used to draw what I would think the starters final evolution’s would look like if they received a new evolution stage… so the blaziken makes me excited. Also, it seems likely that if they do it for one starter, shouldn’t they do it for the other 14? Also, I love absol, and now it has sick looking wings, yes please. New things are bound to come with a game franchise that has been around for decades, so get used to it or don’t play it. I think it’s a sick concept and I want to see a charizard mega-evolution.

    I know Masuda pointed out on a radio show that the new Mewtwo thing was never referred to as a forme, I guess I know why now!

  15. Damn it! I hate forms. I’m okay with it if they’re permanent. But all this form changing annoys me. The game needs to retain some simplicity… It’s a new idea, I don’t see it fitting well to a Pokemon game. It will become too complex, new stats forms, changing forms with various items… I don’t see why they couldn’t just be normal evos. I don’t mind a 4’stage starter line. But mega evolution, it just doesn’t sound that simple. I think Pokemon wantntonshow off the 3 Ds graphics,

    • I’ve always felt the same, but these seem different, useful and cool. Usually forms just seem pointless and they don’t really make the Pokémon any better, just different. But these could give you an edge over the opponent if implemented well. But I do wonder how they’ll make it work… I’ve always liked the idea of having an extra stage too and not just 3.

  22. Makes me laugh how nobody is really commenting about the awful new Pokemon also in this leak, it’s like GameFreak said “Lets give them a bunch of megapokemon to start a shit storm and maybe they won’t complain about the boring bunny and the fat baby pikachu”

  23. I guess they decided to be lazy and instead of more new pokemon and older pokemon evolutions and pre-evolutions, they
    re going to release MegaEvolutions. But I will treat MegaMawile as a Mawile evo xDDD Now I need a Sableye One:)
