[UPD2] It seems more leaks are coming any moment, as another leaker has gotten their hands on Corocoro and is uploading some pages. New, clear, and full versions of the scans we’ve seen have now been revealed, though there seems to be more to go.
[UPD1] The PokémonKorea official site has updated with details on a playable demo for XY coming to Korea. In this, they report about the Mega Evolutions. This means that Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and any other information should be taken as real as well.
This month’s issue of Corcoro has begun leaking. With new Pokémon and more! Keep checking back as we update with translations!
On Mega Evolutions
- “Mega” Pokemon; These new supercharged versions of their previous ones are NOT traditional evolutions or forms, but happen through a “Mega Evolution” process.
- Mega evolutions are ONLY accessible during battle.
- A “Megastone” seems to be a collective term for the held items used to Mega-evolve each Pokémon. In the case of Blaziken, its Megastone is called “Blazikenite”.
- One of the gym leaders, Coruni, hold the key to these new Mega-lutions.
- Mega Pokémon have stat changes: Lucario gets an Attack stat boost, whilst Absol gets a boost to both Attack/Speed.
- Unknown what the stat changes for other Mega Pokémon are.
- Mega evolutions seem to awakened temporarily in battle by holding a megastone for some Pokémon.
Getting ‘Mega’ versions are:
- Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, ability: Speed Boost)
- Lucario (Steel/Fighting, ability: Adaptability)
- Ampharos (Electric/DRAGON, ability: Mold Breaker)
- Mawile (Steel/Fairy, ability:Huge Power)
- Mewtwo (Psychic, ability: Insomnia)
- Absol (Dark, ability:Magic Bounce)
- Not all Pokemon will get Mega versions.
More could be revealed!
New Pokémon, Miscellaneous
- Meekuru, a Grass-type Gogoat prevolution has Sap Sipper for ability.
- Horubii, a Normal-type rabbit-ish Pokémon, known as the “Digging” Pokémon has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
- Dedenne, an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon which is the “Antennae” Pokémon, has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
- Speed Boost Torchic will be distributed with it’s “Mega Stone”; This Speed Boost Torchic with “Blazikenite” Distribution starts from the release date(October 12th) to January 15th, 2014.
- Although cut off, what seems to be Super Training is mentioned! As previous leaks have pointed at, completing these games seems to raise Effort Values for the Pokémon that participate.
- Also mentioned is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Pokémon.
Also confirmed is that next month’s Corocoro is to show even more Mega Evolutions, alongside an updated type chart to show off Fairy-type.

The gym leader screenshots, art style etc are all way too convincing to be fake. I hope it isn’t real but I can’t see that being the case 🙁
I seriously don’t see any evidence pointing to this being fake…
Maybe as a way for they inconsivable thinking of making 3 fire/fighting starters, they are making them mega evovled(now that I think about it that would be total bs)

Did you see the gym leader. They text box in the art is wrong. Her drawing is really off. Also, the background is from Grant’s gym. Grant seems like he is the Rock type.

A new image has appeared showing a Gym Leader on rollerskates, with a gameplay screenshot… The more images appear, the more legit this seems! If this is a fake, it may just be the best we’ve ever seen

The text box was the first thing I noticed. We haven’t seen one like that in trailers nor screenshots of the game.

If the Mega-Evolution thing is real, then I’m really dissapointed, cuz I was (and I think most of you, my fellow PokeTrainers) thinking that there are only max three stage evo and they could’ve better done this as a form change or they should’nt do it at all!
From what it seems like (and I am totally against this, and I don’t think it’s real), when a pokemon (let’s say combusken) is holding a “mega stone” and levels up to 36+ it would evolve into MegaBlaziken (how mewtwo would go to MegaMewtwo though, I have no idea)
I’ve always liked the idea of another stage, but each to their own 🙂

Torchic holds a mega stone to evolve into Megablaziken this makes more sense

Guys, use your heads. If this is real, of course the Gogoat prevo will look like the fanart. They showed us the pokemon (in the trailer), then people made fanart to show people what it might look like. Now we have the official(maybe) art and it looks like the fanart because they are the same pokemon! (theoretically)
