[UPD2] It seems more leaks are coming any moment, as another leaker has gotten their hands on Corocoro and is uploading some pages. New, clear, and full versions of the scans we’ve seen have now been revealed, though there seems to be more to go.
[UPD1] The PokémonKorea official site has updated with details on a playable demo for XY coming to Korea. In this, they report about the Mega Evolutions. This means that Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and any other information should be taken as real as well.
This month’s issue of Corcoro has begun leaking. With new Pokémon and more! Keep checking back as we update with translations!
On Mega Evolutions
- “Mega” Pokemon; These new supercharged versions of their previous ones are NOT traditional evolutions or forms, but happen through a “Mega Evolution” process.
- Mega evolutions are ONLY accessible during battle.
- A “Megastone” seems to be a collective term for the held items used to Mega-evolve each Pokémon. In the case of Blaziken, its Megastone is called “Blazikenite”.
- One of the gym leaders, Coruni, hold the key to these new Mega-lutions.
- Mega Pokémon have stat changes: Lucario gets an Attack stat boost, whilst Absol gets a boost to both Attack/Speed.
- Unknown what the stat changes for other Mega Pokémon are.
- Mega evolutions seem to awakened temporarily in battle by holding a megastone for some Pokémon.
Getting ‘Mega’ versions are:
- Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, ability: Speed Boost)
- Lucario (Steel/Fighting, ability: Adaptability)
- Ampharos (Electric/DRAGON, ability: Mold Breaker)
- Mawile (Steel/Fairy, ability:Huge Power)
- Mewtwo (Psychic, ability: Insomnia)
- Absol (Dark, ability:Magic Bounce)
- Not all Pokemon will get Mega versions.
More could be revealed!
New Pokémon, Miscellaneous
- Meekuru, a Grass-type Gogoat prevolution has Sap Sipper for ability.
- Horubii, a Normal-type rabbit-ish Pokémon, known as the “Digging” Pokémon has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
- Dedenne, an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon which is the “Antennae” Pokémon, has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
- Speed Boost Torchic will be distributed with it’s “Mega Stone”; This Speed Boost Torchic with “Blazikenite” Distribution starts from the release date(October 12th) to January 15th, 2014.
- Although cut off, what seems to be Super Training is mentioned! As previous leaks have pointed at, completing these games seems to raise Effort Values for the Pokémon that participate.
- Also mentioned is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Pokémon.
Also confirmed is that next month’s Corocoro is to show even more Mega Evolutions, alongside an updated type chart to show off Fairy-type.

I’ve premade my X/Y team: (consisting of X/Y Pokemon ONLY)
Chespin, Clauncher, Dedenne, Sylveon, Fletchling, Noivern, Pancham, Helioptile, Inkay, Swirlix, Pancham and Litleo.
I know it’s more than 6, but I will be choosing from this list thus far. In other words, these are my favorites, excluding legendaries and MegaMon.
Chespin, Swirlix, Fletchling, Helioptile, TBA, TBA.
Nice. I chose Chespin because there are no decent grass-types revealed thus far. We have Clauncher, Skrelp, and Froakie as water-types and Litleo, Talonflame and Fennekin as fire-types. But grass? Meekuru/Gogoat, which both look weak, and Oorooto, which will probably end up being Dark/Ghost. Chespin looks badass, and which is why I am picking it.

It’s a new feature, so it’ll be a large feature, although it is also optional. Therefore, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to do it. Play the game as you please. Please don’t openly ruin things for others with negatively.

Something about this next surge of scans has me thinking that if there are any other pages about Pokemon, they may not contain anything that either rivals or out shines the Mega Pokemon. Hopefully there is at least something else new, but I have a feeling if there was something else good it would have been scanned already. Hopefully I’m wrong.

The blurb next to Mega Absol says that only certain Pokemon can Mega Evolve, and that only if that certain conditions are met can they Mega Evolve
So not everything gets a Mega Evolution, then. Well, as long as we get a Mega Weezing, I’ll be fine.

Rumor says it evolves a Level 30 with another Dark type in the party.
The Pokebeach leaker said you need another dark type in your party to evolve at lvl. 30.
I know Pokebeach said that, they’re not always right though (remember Patrice?) I doubt Pancham would have its own section in the evolution page for level up with dark type in party.
Patrice could be a different professor, though. He did say he threw some fake ones in there to get Nintendo off his tail a bit. (Or so I’ve heard)
It can’t, because Pangoro is a real evolution, not a mega evolution. It’s name changes as well, as further proof.

Well, that sucks. They should just make designs for all of them, making them optional, after all, it is over 1GB anyways.
What do you care? You can just…not give them a megastone, so that they never mega-evolve if you don’t want them to. It’s available to people who DO like the concept and want to utilize it. Not everything in the game needs to be used to its fullest degree, so I don’t understand why you would be happy about this, unless you are acting selfish.
Maybe all the fully-evolved and stand alones are.

Update 1: That is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Evolutions. This is courtesy of Serebii, which in my opinion, is now the second-most informative source, tying with Bulbapedia, with Pokebeach at a low 3rd and Pokejungle in 1st!
