[UPD2] It seems more leaks are coming any moment, as another leaker has gotten their hands on Corocoro and is uploading some pages. New, clear, and full versions of the scans we’ve seen have now been revealed, though there seems to be more to go.
[UPD1] The PokémonKorea official site has updated with details on a playable demo for XY coming to Korea. In this, they report about the Mega Evolutions. This means that Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and any other information should be taken as real as well.
This month’s issue of Corcoro has begun leaking. With new Pokémon and more! Keep checking back as we update with translations!
On Mega Evolutions
- “Mega” Pokemon; These new supercharged versions of their previous ones are NOT traditional evolutions or forms, but happen through a “Mega Evolution” process.
- Mega evolutions are ONLY accessible during battle.
- A “Megastone” seems to be a collective term for the held items used to Mega-evolve each Pokémon. In the case of Blaziken, its Megastone is called “Blazikenite”.
- One of the gym leaders, Coruni, hold the key to these new Mega-lutions.
- Mega Pokémon have stat changes: Lucario gets an Attack stat boost, whilst Absol gets a boost to both Attack/Speed.
- Unknown what the stat changes for other Mega Pokémon are.
- Mega evolutions seem to awakened temporarily in battle by holding a megastone for some Pokémon.
Getting ‘Mega’ versions are:
- Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, ability: Speed Boost)
- Lucario (Steel/Fighting, ability: Adaptability)
- Ampharos (Electric/DRAGON, ability: Mold Breaker)
- Mawile (Steel/Fairy, ability:Huge Power)
- Mewtwo (Psychic, ability: Insomnia)
- Absol (Dark, ability:Magic Bounce)
- Not all Pokemon will get Mega versions.
More could be revealed!
New Pokémon, Miscellaneous
- Meekuru, a Grass-type Gogoat prevolution has Sap Sipper for ability.
- Horubii, a Normal-type rabbit-ish Pokémon, known as the “Digging” Pokémon has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
- Dedenne, an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon which is the “Antennae” Pokémon, has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
- Speed Boost Torchic will be distributed with it’s “Mega Stone”; This Speed Boost Torchic with “Blazikenite” Distribution starts from the release date(October 12th) to January 15th, 2014.
- Although cut off, what seems to be Super Training is mentioned! As previous leaks have pointed at, completing these games seems to raise Effort Values for the Pokémon that participate.
- Also mentioned is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Pokémon.
Also confirmed is that next month’s Corocoro is to show even more Mega Evolutions, alongside an updated type chart to show off Fairy-type.

Okay. I want to know what everyone thinks the ability Cheek Pouches will do? The ability that the bunny and hamster Pokemon have. To me, it seems to involve berries or something. I hope it’s useful! 😀
A pouch of cheeks? To store Electric energy? I dunno…
My guess is it allows the held berry to be reused, or else maybe allow it to hold two berries at once.

They claimed MegaMewtwo or whatever it is called was the Eclair Forme of Mewtwo. What the f*** is that supposed to mean? Pokemon is introducing Food-type forms?
No, they said that they saw a caption on a poster that claimed that when it was first officially revealed. Plus, in French, Eclair can also mean Flash, or Lightning. And Newtwo is shown to be extremely fast.

Oh, I didn’t notice that. But still, they claimed that they know about inaccurate information. This forme is not called Flash Mewtwo or Lightning Mewtwo. It is Awakened Mewtwo/MegaMewtwo. Nonetheless they gave incorrect information, and started false speculations.

You know earlier I was incredibly skeptical about these scans and didn’t know how I really felt with Mega Pokemon, but honestly, Mega Blaziken has really grown on me, and I still have my original Torchic from when I first played Pokemon Ruby, so seeing that Torchic from 10 years ago “Mega-Evolve” would just be an incredible experience.
And now that MegaMons are a thing, Mega Pikachu better look like this or GF just missed a huge opportunity
Remember they still have not been 100% confirmed. They are really cool! Yet, I don’t see a purpose for them! August 12 really needs to come or the Pokemon fan base split in two! I am 50/50 on Mega Pokemon! I think the idea is cool, but just aren’t needed!

I think Ampharos was okay how it was. It’s kind of random seeing it get back its Wool. As it evolved its wool disappeared. So thats another reason why I think it is fake! But I will admit it looks amazing. Also, where did it become part Dragon. Nothing from that seems Dragon!
Dragon comes from the fact that it’s Japanese name can literally mean electrical dragon. It’s not the only thing it can mean though.
