September Corocoro Leaking! [UPD2]

[UPD2] It seems more leaks are coming any moment, as another leaker has gotten their hands on Corocoro and is uploading some pages. New, clear, and full versions of the scans we’ve seen have now been revealed, though there seems to be more to go.

[UPD1] The PokémonKorea official site has updated with details on a playable demo for XY coming to Korea. In this, they report about the Mega Evolutions. This means that Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and any other information should be taken as real as well.

This month’s issue of Corcoro has begun leaking. With new Pokémon and more! Keep checking back as we update with translations! 

On Mega Evolutions

  • “Mega” Pokemon; These new supercharged versions of their previous ones are NOT traditional evolutions or forms, but happen through a “Mega Evolution” process.
  • Mega evolutions are ONLY accessible  during battle.
  • A “Megastone” seems to be a collective term for the held items used to Mega-evolve each Pokémon. In the case of Blaziken, its Megastone is called “Blazikenite”.
  • One of the gym leaders, Coruni, hold the key to these new Mega-lutions.
  • Mega Pokémon have stat changes: Lucario gets an Attack stat boost, whilst Absol gets a boost to both Attack/Speed.
  • Unknown what the stat changes for other Mega Pokémon are.
  • Mega evolutions seem to awakened temporarily in battle by holding a megastone for some Pokémon.

Getting ‘Mega’ versions are:

  • Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, ability: Speed Boost)
  • Lucario (Steel/Fighting, ability: Adaptability)
  • Ampharos (Electric/DRAGON, ability: Mold Breaker)
  • Mawile (Steel/Fairy, ability:Huge Power)
  • Mewtwo (Psychic, ability: Insomnia)
  • Absol (Dark, ability:Magic Bounce)
  • Not all Pokemon will get Mega versions.

More could be revealed!

New Pokémon, Miscellaneous

  •  Meekuru, a Grass-type Gogoat prevolution has Sap Sipper for ability.
  •  Horubii, a Normal-type rabbit-ish Pokémon, known as the “Digging” Pokémon has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
  • Dedenne, an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon which is the “Antennae” Pokémon, has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
  • Speed Boost Torchic will be distributed with it’s “Mega Stone”; This Speed Boost Torchic with “Blazikenite” Distribution starts from the release date(October 12th) to January 15th, 2014.
  • Although cut off, what seems to be Super Training is mentioned! As previous leaks have pointed at, completing these games seems to raise Effort Values for the Pokémon that participate.
  • Also mentioned is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Pokémon.

Also confirmed is that next month’s Corocoro is to show even more Mega Evolutions, alongside an updated type chart to show off Fairy-type.

  7. At first all the “Mega” stuff made me really nervous, Then i thought about it and if they do it right then it could potentially turn out to be a good thing. However it could also turn out mortifying! Since we don’t know much yet guess we will all have to wait and see!

    *Side note- what is the deal with Mega Ampharos? Hes one of my favorite guys(design wise) I’ll have to make sure he does not touch a mega stone and evolve/change into that hideous looking form.Although it is awsome to have dragon type added!!

  8. Here’s some food for thought. Notice how on the mega page, all the megas are blurry though glare and fuzziness, except for one. The mewtwo form/evo is pixelated blurry, It is the only mega previously revealed. Meaning that IF this is fake, Newtwo was added separately as the “leaker” wouldn’t have to draw it. I’m not saying it is fake. (Although this is awfully fishy.)

    Edit: Also, if you look at the info next to Mega Mawile, it’s at the wrong angle and lighting, making it look generally photoshopped.

  9. i registered just to comment on this article. i’ve been a pokemon fan ever since i was a kid and now i’m already 20. the moment i saw the lucario mega-lution i instantly got excited because it really looks cool. blaziken’s mega looks a lot like yveltal and when you think about it lucario and xerneas also have some similarities. but a lot of people might ask why torchic is the only starter to have a mega-lution. and i can understand mawile and absol having mega but ampharos?? i don’t think it’s necessary to give him one. maybe the devs plan all starters to have mega or maybe all other pokemon that haven’t had a branch evolution yet. that was probably why the file size of the game is just too big.

    • It’s not all Pokemon, just Legendaries, FULLY-evolved forms, and stand-alones. Well, can’t say for sure, but it makes sense.

    • 649 x 2 = 1298 + All the Kalos Pokemon and there forms. Too much! I think certain Pokemon like Starters, Legendaries, etc. will only get Mega Forms.

    • I”m pretty sure only Pokemon that can’t evolve get one, putting the number of megas at
      Gen1: 69
      Gen2: 54
      Gen3: 72
      Gen4: 68
      Gen5: 102

      Putting the total of megas for old pokemon at 365 assuming what I said previously was true.

      • Yes, thank you for your calculations, as this was something that I had not realized earlier. If these 365 mega evolutions take place as a new Pokemon in the Pokedex, then we will have at least 1000+ new Pokemon, including the formes. But if they count as alternatives for old Pokemon and don’t get their seperate Pokedex entry, we will still have 1000+ total Pokemon, including all formes.

          • I’m glad Mega Pokemon are only forms. I still don’t want them but, its best they stay forms. Yet, I wanted Absol and Mawile to get a evolution not a form change! Also, Lucario getting a evolution would be cool too. There really not needed thought.

    • Proper discussions and opinions are subjective. As far as I have seen, there has been no so called “trolling” so far on the site. I’ve seen great discussions, whether they are for or against these new forms. However, I’m assuming you mean that you want everyone to share your opinion and love these forms. Glad you like them, but because others don’t agree doesn’t make us instigators.

If you could tell me your definition of trolling, that would be great because as far as I’m concerned, there has been none of that.   19. While everyone is so busy arguing about Mega Evolutions, I’m too busy realizing Hirobyte was a little wrong on his leaks. . . Newtwo isn’t Psychic/Fairy. And there may not be a second form. Meaning. . . Some of his info. . . May be wrong. . .

  22. I have a Theory, now this is totally a hypothesized theory though but here it goes

    The concept of mega Pokemon could be connected to Xerneas, since as the Life Pokemon Xerneas’ colorful antlers and it’s move Geomancy could possibly manipulate a Pokemon’s genetic code allowing it a achieve a higher powerfuler form. the Move Geomancy might even create these “Mega Stones” as a byproduct and could only be found in its native region of Kalos

    Now i think Team Flare wants to capture Xerneas and use its power to create ultra-powerful Pokemon and sell them to highest bid

    Now take this thought into consideration, I could be true!!!!

  23. To the people/trolls/haters/ect. that are still in denial about wheater or not the scans are real:

    1. Gogoat’s preevo was already shown in a trailer.

    2. On the list of rumors that were leaked to Pokebeach, it said Mawhile will gain Fairy Type

    3. The names of the pikachu clone and rabbit were on the list of names that were leaked 2-3 weeks ago.

  25. The way I think FG want mega evolution to be seen is as a leveling for all pokemon strong and weak. That way its down to skill and strategy to win battles. Most see these Pokemon as being crazy strong eg lucario with adaptability but whos to say there is other mega evolutions that are on par or rival this strength.
