September Corocoro Leaking! [UPD2]

[UPD2] It seems more leaks are coming any moment, as another leaker has gotten their hands on Corocoro and is uploading some pages. New, clear, and full versions of the scans we’ve seen have now been revealed, though there seems to be more to go.

[UPD1] The PokémonKorea official site has updated with details on a playable demo for XY coming to Korea. In this, they report about the Mega Evolutions. This means that Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and any other information should be taken as real as well.

This month’s issue of Corcoro has begun leaking. With new Pokémon and more! Keep checking back as we update with translations!

On Mega Evolutions

  • “Mega” Pokemon; These new supercharged versions of their previous ones are NOT traditional evolutions or forms, but happen through a “Mega Evolution” process.
  • Mega evolutions are ONLY accessible  during battle.
  • A “Megastone” seems to be a collective term for the held items used to Mega-evolve each Pokémon. In the case of Blaziken, its Megastone is called “Blazikenite”.
  • One of the gym leaders, Coruni, hold the key to these new Mega-lutions.
  • Mega Pokémon have stat changes: Lucario gets an Attack stat boost, whilst Absol gets a boost to both Attack/Speed.
  • Unknown what the stat changes for other Mega Pokémon are.
  • Mega evolutions seem to awakened temporarily in battle by holding a megastone for some Pokémon.

Getting ‘Mega’ versions are:

  • Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, ability: Speed Boost)
  • Lucario (Steel/Fighting, ability: Adaptability)
  • Ampharos (Electric/DRAGON, ability: Mold Breaker)
  • Mawile (Steel/Fairy, ability:Huge Power)
  • Mewtwo (Psychic, ability: Insomnia)
  • Absol (Dark, ability:Magic Bounce)
  • Not all Pokemon will get Mega versions.

More could be revealed!

New Pokémon, Miscellaneous

  •  Meekuru, a Grass-type Gogoat prevolution has Sap Sipper for ability.
  •  Horubii, a Normal-type rabbit-ish Pokémon, known as the “Digging” Pokémon has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
  • Dedenne, an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon which is the “Antennae” Pokémon, has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
  • Speed Boost Torchic will be distributed with it’s “Mega Stone”; This Speed Boost Torchic with “Blazikenite” Distribution starts from the release date(October 12th) to January 15th, 2014.
  • Although cut off, what seems to be Super Training is mentioned! As previous leaks have pointed at, completing these games seems to raise Effort Values for the Pokémon that participate.
  • Also mentioned is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Pokémon.

Also confirmed is that next month’s Corocoro is to show even more Mega Evolutions, alongside an updated type chart to show off Fairy-type.

  1. I wonder if a basic ampharos is now a dual electric/dragon type as mawile is now steel/fairy (even out of a mega-evolution) or if it’s only a gain during his transformation ?
The kirin-like design of megaAmpharos is really cool ! 🙂

  2. This is the most exciting piece of news we had from Generation 6 so far!! Bigger even than the Fairy-type!! I NEED that Mega-Ampharos!!

  3. I’m so conflicted about this…. I just….. I just don’t know. I’ll have to wait and find out more before finally judging (though at the moment I do think the megas are kind of pointless.)

But the main problem I have are peoples reactions to it…. In particular the people who are like “I’M A TRUE FAN COS I LIKE IT!!1!” ……. liking it doesn’t make you any more of a fan, people are entitled to not like them and are still just as much of a fan as you are.

    • By that logic people are also entitled to send hate mail and death threats to GF, Nintendo and the leakers because they don’t like the new changes and can still be can still be considered fans. See a problem because I do.

      • whoa whoa whoa…. I never condoned the use of death threats… don’t even for a second act like i would want someone to do that.

But why is it suddenly ok to be labeled as a ‘lesser’ fan of something because you don’t like it?

  4. Going back to the original idea about having to utilize two items. I think Blaziken will have to be holding one item (Blaziken Knight) and then in battle the “Mega Stone” will be used to turn him into MEGABalziken. If done this way it could balance whatever Stat increases it would get. Since you would have to sacrifice the item you use and one turn in battle. Ofcourse this might be too much and render them all gimmicky and semi-usless if they phase you out, but it could be a risk/reward type of thing.
Ofcourse this is just speculation but honestly it would be one of the few ways these could be utilized without being totally OP. Then again pokemon like Mawlie would still be kinda weak even after you got it to the MEGA stage. Then after battle you’d get your normal Mawlie again.

  5. I think I can see why GF did this. Maybe they’re giving mega forms to
pokémon they feel don’t need evolutions, but are still popular amongst
the fans and need a little extra boost. Plus, if this is just a
temporary effect, maybe they did because of the criticism alot of Gen IV
evos like Electivire and Magmortar received, so this way they won’t be
    permanent conditions

Blaziken and Lucario are a different story all together though. I think
that, if anything, giving them mega forms is just eye candy (since
they’re two of the most popular and powerful pokémon in the meta games),
so it’d attract the majority of the fans to try the megas out and then
lean into the pokémon that aren’t as powerful or cool (ie- Ampharos,
    Mawile, Absol)

  6. everyone is forgetting one big thing…..WE ONLY HAVE TWO MONTHS LEFT BEFORE THE GAMES COME OUT……So to everyone whining that there aren’t enough Kalos pokemon have patience there should be more to this scoop and new pokemon this month(next three days hopefully) and then next month…..I need more info on what the mega evolution is but so far it doesn’t seem like a bad idea

  7. Where does the “in-battle only” come in? To me that’s just WAY to gimmicky, even for GF. I’m mainly perturbed by this because I really want actual evolutions/alternate forms of Mawile and Absol and some other Pokemon and not just have it activate randomly in battle. To me that’s just beyond stupidity.

        • I can’t see a rabbit changing to a groundhog. Yet, with GameFreak everything is possible! I will be naming him Peppy! 😉 (Hopefully you get the reference) He will be a HM Slave. I usually don’t name Pokemon but he will get a exception!

    • It seems we have three counter-parts this gen:
      Clauncher/Skrelp
      Horubii/Dedenne
      Helioptile/Litleo

I don’t know for sure but it seems to match up really well.

      Reply
      • No, Helioptile and Litleo will mostly be in X & Y! Also, Horubii and Dedenne will mostly be in X & Y too. Why because Dedeene is Electric/Fairy and Horubii is just Normal. Yet, Clauncher, Swirlix, and Xerneas are exclusive to X and Skrelp, Spritzee and Yveltal are exculusive to Y!

  8. Since Blaziken recieved a Mega-Evolution, I hope for May to return for at least like 12 episodes of the new series and tell Ash all about Mega-evolution and how her Blaziken Mega-evolved. Then, I wish for Sceptile to make his new-series debut and battle with Mega-Blaziken but he loses and he becomes really saddens by it so Ash and him try to find a stronger part of him then, the gym leader girl appears and upon finding out about Sceptile, she gives Ash the stone and Sceptile Mega-evolves. I wish for that to happen. 😀

  9. “Mega Evolutions are only accessible during battle”
I REALLY hope this isn’t a gimmicky thing like Darmanitan Zen Mode lol. I wonder if it is sort of a set up move to activate Mega Evolution (like Relic Song on Meloetta changes its form?) Or maybe the item activates during battle like Toxic or Flame Orb. Either way this looks awesome and OP as hell. The new forms of Blaziken and Lucario look badass. SO excited.

    • There will be more that 1400 Pokemon! I can see Starters and Certain Pokemon getting it not all! Maybe MegaStones are made in a Lab? Possibles are endless 🙂

      Reply
        • Its not going to be like that! For example! Blaziken gets its own stone which is called that Blazikenite. Then it becomes its MegaForm during battle! So, each Pokemon gets there own stone. I’m just waiting for August 12 for the info to be given world-wide.
