[UPD2] It seems more leaks are coming any moment, as another leaker has gotten their hands on Corocoro and is uploading some pages. New, clear, and full versions of the scans we’ve seen have now been revealed, though there seems to be more to go.
[UPD1] The PokémonKorea official site has updated with details on a playable demo for XY coming to Korea. In this, they report about the Mega Evolutions. This means that Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and any other information should be taken as real as well.
This month’s issue of Corcoro has begun leaking. With new Pokémon and more! Keep checking back as we update with translations!
On Mega Evolutions
- “Mega” Pokemon; These new supercharged versions of their previous ones are NOT traditional evolutions or forms, but happen through a “Mega Evolution” process.
- Mega evolutions are ONLY accessible during battle.
- A “Megastone” seems to be a collective term for the held items used to Mega-evolve each Pokémon. In the case of Blaziken, its Megastone is called “Blazikenite”.
- One of the gym leaders, Coruni, hold the key to these new Mega-lutions.
- Mega Pokémon have stat changes: Lucario gets an Attack stat boost, whilst Absol gets a boost to both Attack/Speed.
- Unknown what the stat changes for other Mega Pokémon are.
- Mega evolutions seem to awakened temporarily in battle by holding a megastone for some Pokémon.
Getting ‘Mega’ versions are:
- Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, ability: Speed Boost)
- Lucario (Steel/Fighting, ability: Adaptability)
- Ampharos (Electric/DRAGON, ability: Mold Breaker)
- Mawile (Steel/Fairy, ability:Huge Power)
- Mewtwo (Psychic, ability: Insomnia)
- Absol (Dark, ability:Magic Bounce)
- Not all Pokemon will get Mega versions.
More could be revealed!
New Pokémon, Miscellaneous
- Meekuru, a Grass-type Gogoat prevolution has Sap Sipper for ability.
- Horubii, a Normal-type rabbit-ish Pokémon, known as the “Digging” Pokémon has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
- Dedenne, an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon which is the “Antennae” Pokémon, has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
- Speed Boost Torchic will be distributed with it’s “Mega Stone”; This Speed Boost Torchic with “Blazikenite” Distribution starts from the release date(October 12th) to January 15th, 2014.
- Although cut off, what seems to be Super Training is mentioned! As previous leaks have pointed at, completing these games seems to raise Effort Values for the Pokémon that participate.
- Also mentioned is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Pokémon.
Also confirmed is that next month’s Corocoro is to show even more Mega Evolutions, alongside an updated type chart to show off Fairy-type.

I think there will be an extended amount of Pokemon in the game for three reasons:
Fairy-type.
Mega Forms.
Possibly old Pokemon getting evos/pre-evos,

It depends if they count mega forms as new pokemon of new forms. But i agree their is definitely going to be alot of new pokemon whether they’re mega evolutions of not

Hopefully he did so out of fear getting in trouble because if he did so because of people complaining and sending death threats(there has been alot of that going arround recently) about the new Megas then I lost hope for the Pokemon fanbase.

Dude. Give them a try. Also, if you want more info, Fennekin learns Psychic and it seems like Glow Punch is a Fairy, Psychic, or Fire type attack. Give MegaPokemon a bit of a try bro.
I gave it some thought.. And y’know what? I’m warming up to the Mega pokes. I really love MegaAbsol and MegaBlaziken’s art.. So yeah. Haha

why yes, yes it does
This is GF way of letting previous Pokemon from older Gen’s have a new evolution while at the same time, not letting them have one. If you get what I mean.
And that’s why I HATE Mega-evolution :).

Exactly, GF took a step in the right direction here. Pokemon has always had the triangular based set up. Battling, trading and collecting. Now Evolving comes into play to make it a solid square.
This feature, is probably one of GF’s best yet.
Yet, remember Mega Evolution is more like a form! It is not a true evolution! For example (I believe this is true) before a battle you give Blaziken the Blazikenite (a Type of MegaStone) before a battle. You get into a Wild Battle/Trainer Battle! Then Blaziken will change form into its MegaForm. Then you get to use MegaBlaziken! I think that is how it will work! What do you think?

IMO they should put them together with the Ubers but change the name ‘Uber’ ‘cos these Pseudo-evolutions would kind of ruin how Uber works, Uber typically consists of legendaries with large movepools and high stats.
I don’t care too much if Mewtwo and Blaziken get megaevos, but can’t you understand why I think Mawile and Absol being given mega-evos instead of real ones is idiotic and superfluous? Also, why the hate? Am I disrespecting your opinion? No, I’m stating mine. No need to call upon my doom.
