September CoroCoro Leaking [UPD]

Following the soft reveal of a blurry Lycanroc Dusk Form on the front cover, pages from Japanese comic magazine, CoroCoro, have begun to leak and contain information about the new form!

UPDATE: We finally have clearer images of the CoroCoro leaks and can confirm the following info:

  • There will be a “Special Rockruff” distribution for Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon from launch day until January 10th, 2018
  • Confirmation that Lycanroc Dusk Form cannot be obtained through normal gameplay and seems to be tied to events
  • Dusk Form Lycanroc is pure Rock-type
  • When evolving into Dusk Form, Lycanroc can learn both Counter and Accelrock – which were previously Midnight and Midday form exclusives respectively
  • It can have the ability Tough Claws, which boosts the power of contact moves by 30%

      • I like it, it has tough claws and Accelerock which is pretty damn useful
        And people assume counter is useless but your supposed to use it as a lead sucicide or the game changer last gambit (as long hazards are gone)

        • Well I’m going to guess this Lycanroc doesn’t have the defenses or HP to tank in order to use counter. I doubt it will be much different than midday in terms of stat spread

            I’ve run Midnight Lycanroc and Rhyperior as counter suicides and plenty of people can’t resist trying to one shot it

          • its better to experiment with ideas instead of just making a uncreative ou meta team that has no heart

          • Yeah, but really I think the issue lies with mediocre stats for Lycanroc rather than that. People have no originality when it comes to it because it’s not versatile and is either a glass cannon (midday) or not good enough to tank and not fast enough to sweep (midnight)

          • Rather have that. Spoiling didn’t ruin S/M for me, lack of content did in the end. Still enjoy them..but nothing is really calling me back. Already completed the nat dex and everything, and battle tree is lame

    • I think the leaker claimed to have more but wouldn’t upload it until morning in Japan and I just checked and it’s only 5:00 am there so there might be more in a few hours

  16. I hope it’s not just an event thing, might as well not bother if it is. I don’t care what anyone else says, I like it. I admit they could have changed it a bit more, like had it more hunched over, especially if there’s no Dawn counterpart form.

      • Those are perfect words. Some people expect BOTW with pokemon. Pokemon Switch is still just gonna be a good ol pokemon game, but with some changes.

          • If they said nothing, people would have too high expectation. Now that they said that, maybe people won’t have too high expectations.

          • Why would they? I wouldn’t expect a BOTW level game, they are very different things. I would think it would be like a combination of Colosseum/XD and Main Games, with better graphics. They need to decide on the style they are going for and then focus on story etc. It probably won’t have Pokemon looking like they do in Pokken for example. i expect it to be at least as good as the main games, which if it is a main game there is no reason it shouldn’t be. The words here paint a negative view imo, like they don’t really know what they are doing.

        • Might as well address this. An open world, BotW-esque, MMO Pokemon game isn’t just a high expectation, it’s an unrealistic and irrational one (in fairness, I’ve never heard anybody expect that on Pokemon dedicated sites). It just seems like such a defeatist attitude to say “we’ll never meet expectations, so lower them or be dissapointed”.

        • No, it makes it likely that the game will have bugs or some problems like that due to the inexperience with the switch

      • That literally goes for every game. Game development isn’t a cake walk; not to mention that they’ll be using far superior hardware to the 3DS. Their going to have to understand, work, and fundamentally build their game from the ground up.

    • I agree with them. I’ve seen fans going crazy for an open-world Pokemon game! You could have hopes, but keep your expectations leveled.

  22. People reading too much into Masuda’s comments. He also mentioned that Pokemon Switch is going to be open-world and also people have to keep in mind that this is GF’s first project for the Switch, they are unfamiliar with the system. You cant set your expectations to the highest level
