Top 5 New Alolan Forms We Need in Pokémon Stars

With up to 20 new Pokémon being introduced into the Pokémon Sun & Moon follow-up game for the Nintendo Switch console, code-named Pokémon Stars, there is a lot of speculation about just what we may see. It isn’t hard to imagine that some of those may be Alolan forms for existing Pokémon, rather than brand new monsters.

Sticking to the Gen I-only rule, here are the 5 we (or just me) want to see:

1. Kingler

Things were simpler back when Pokémon first debuted; fans didn’t care that their giant grab didn’t have much differentiating it from something they’d find at any beach. A classic design sure—but in today’s crowded list of almost 1,000 Pokémon it just doesn’t stand out. I’d like to see a secondary type added so that we can have a decent Water-type crab Pokémon to catch in Alola.

Some interesting combinations could be Water/Ground and play up the sand burrowing aspect or even go Water/Fighting and give it some backstory with Crabrawler. I’m not even going to be too picky here; just throw us Kingler fans a bone GameFreak!

2. Primeape

Have you ever wondered how a coughed-up furball became a Pokémon? Yeah, us too. This Fighting-type Pokémon has never seemed very popular, but it’s a shame since its rather simplistic design could be modified for a much better and more distinct Alolan form.

One of the more unique ways GameFreak could adapt it to the island region is by covering it with moss. Sloths have moss growing in their fur, why not Primeape? With only 3 Grass/Fighting types it would have a much better chance to stand out.

Or just make it a furball… but on fire. That’d work too.

3. Hypno

No Alolan Hypno?! This was one of the biggest mistakes of Pokémon Sun & Moon and Stars will have to rectify this. Make its collar resemble a Hawaiian lei and make it a Psychic/Grass type. Predictable, but also perfectly Alolan.

Another cool idea would be to make this creepy Pokémon part Dark. There have always been some sinister undertones with Hypno (carrying off sleeping people, etc) and it’d be great to see more of that represented in its rather plain appearance.

4. Electrode

Beast Ball.

I don’t think there are any good arguments against this; it just needs to happen. A new type for it would be great too—something that makes it more unique than just plain Electric.

Muk, the moving pile of sludge, got a rainbow makeover, so it’s only fair that the Pokéball look-a-like gets one too, right?

5. Jynx

Long left alone because of Political Correctness reading into its design, this fetching lass needs a vacation from scrutiny. Where better than to hit the spa? Alola, of course!

Many of you have seen the fan rendition of her Alolan form, complete with a coconut bra, and it doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

Or something else that would totally surprise people and give her more of a personality outside of the controversy she’s normally known for. There’s plenty of places to go with a long, flowing gown as any Project Runway fan could tell you.

Hope you enjoyed the list and I can’t wait to hear YOUR top 5 down in the comments below!

  4. Here are some of my own ideas:
Politoed – Water Poison, due to it drinking some intoxicated water.
Lickitung/Lickilicky – Psychic, due to their tongues becoming so heavy they learned psychedelic power to lift it up. They become surrounded by a large tongue.
Noctowl – Dark/Flying, because of them being more comfortable in the darkness they end up becoming creatures of the night.
Miltank – Fairy/Normal, because its milk suddenly gets sweetened and Milbank becomes a vital source for curing cancer.
Aipom/Ambipom – Psychic, because it uses its tail to float and to pick up apples.

Pokedex Entry 1: This Pokemon tends to command a small crew other Pokemon on a quest that seemingly ends up going nowhere alongside a Puffot that tends to act like its sidekick. It is said to travel in search of sweet foods (no this is not a reference to what you’re thinking) as it views them as a valuable treasure. It is said to command a ship made out of an iceberg, but it is rarely even seen.

Pokedex Entry 2: It takes great pride in its ability to lead its crew through obstacles. Despite this, it is quite dim-witted and only really gets anywhere due to its Puffot sidekick. Skippinter are know for their sharp ended, candy cane like hook that is uses to punish anything that threatens what it holds dear.

  6. Oh right I forgot I made a super cool new ability its

    Ability: Super Saber
All sword and horn moves are up in power by 2 points

So far Pokémon in my fan-region that have it
Frilldibeast (This thing gets Swords dance, Horn attack, and Megahorn)
    Farfetch’d (New form)
    Farfetch’d Evo

        • So you’re doubling the power of Horn moves?

Making Megahorn 240 BP, and then you put STAB on top of that?

I don’t need to tell you why that’s OP.

Make it a 50% increase like Strong Jaw.

          Reply
          • That’s sounds better, but the even more OP part that’s in it, it also does the same to moves like Swords dance, Sacred Sword, and other sword moves

  7. Question time! What did everyone use their special balls for?
    For me it was:
    Love Ball – Ninetales
    Lure Ball – Toxapex
    Heavy Ball – Failed
    Friend Ball – Axew
    Moon Ball – Jigglypuff
    Fast Ball – Pikachu
Level Ball – Salazle named Vixen :3

I have also been wonder trading their offspring to make others happy :3

  8. whatever my fakemon fever is burning (and my actual fever…..been sick all day)
this calls for a REAL Fakemon aka my Roman Alligator

    Alegio
    Hatchling PKM
    Water
    Tough Claws/Strong Jaw
a tiny cyan colored Aligator hatchling with tiny red claws and a yellow underbelly, and the same red claws in the form of scales on the head and midsection and one last quil on the tail
“They’re capable of taking down much larger opponents by fighting in groups, often digging their teeth and claws into weak spots and when the prey is down they drag it back to their nests

then it becomes the ready and eager Aligladius
    Aligladius
    Bladed PKM
    Water/Steel
    Tough Claws/Strong Jaw
a thin bipedal turquoise alligator Pokemon with a very long tail that has a very long red scale like barb that sticks out at the tip, bright red eyes and a series of red scales that resemble armor and a Mohawk
“their tail blades are their greatest tool, a single slash allows them to chop down an entire telephone pole, they never go a single day without training

    and finally the grand finale
    Gladigator
    Warrior PKM
    Water/Steel
Tough Claws/Final Fury (when HP is below 25% All Damaging Moves have priority)
a tall and muscular dark blue reptilian pokemon, a long thick tail with the same barb now sporting two more blades like a sword they often grab and use their tails like a weapon, a mass collection of red armor like scales and a tan underbelly similar to a gladiator suit of armor and lastly a large mouth filled with razor sharp fangs and a large Galea styled mohawk of red scales
“Violent and powerful, Gladigator fight with their very lives over territory and pride, with barb in hand they fight without mercy and strike hard, their metalic scales are sturdy and light

  9. I would’ve liked to have seen an Ice/Fighting Primeape, give it a story with Crabominable.
I mean it’s dex states that “It aimed for the top but got lost and ended up on a snowy mountain. Being forced to endure the cold, this Pokémon evolved and grew fur”
Mankey would been in direct competition with Crabrawler for berries and grow to be in competition with being the best fighting type. As such, Mankey would spy on the Crabrawler’s journey to Mount Lanikila and thus train itself until it grew a thick fur coat (reminiscent of The Ice Climbers a lil) and being the cause of avalanches as it rolls into Primeape snowballs rolling down the hill, training its speed and reflexes as it steers to avoid trees and boulrders

Pokedex Entry: An evolution to the trusty partner of Skippinter, it flies around directing it where to travel. They are compared to the Pikipek line in how they launch icicles similar to how they launch seeds. Angering one is not smart, as the icicles they fire can pierce solid metal.

Breaching Shot basically lets it break screens and bypass defense boosts with the attacks it uses.

Pokedex Entry: A tale is told of a town who all vanished after a swarm of these pokemon flew past. Several cases of fields of plants dying shortly after this pokemon flew by made people assume it was a bad omen. In reality, it was the dust from a Locurse’s wings that caused such death to occur.

This thing is meant to be scary, lorewise, and in battle. It’s ability basically puts a “Perish Song” effect on whatever it is currently fighting. It’s scary, but frail
