  1. I never do enter Pokemon competitions online, think it’s because I don’t like having losses recorded on my game. Good ole psychological reasons.

On a plus note, I completed my task for completing the Alola dex before I started university again. Means I’ll be starting Moon v soon

  2. Whoa, that’s… an odd choice for featured forum thread. XD

If I were you, I’d feature Request-a-Trade, where a guy needs an HA Midnight Lycanroc.

    Also cool rules.

  4. I might as well enter this. Free 50 bp. I also like seeing no one use megas, but instead z moves. Z moves are so much cooler than megas, because you dont have to worry your whole is swept due to it. Too bad I have made a new team in a while. I want to but Im busy.

  5. Thought I might ask here first, but does anyone/can anyone get a spare foreign 6IV Ditto?
I like breeding competitive Pokemon even though I never really use em, find it fun and my next big task is probably gonna be breeding competitive new Pokemon & Alolan forms

    Araquanid (Vest)
Magnezone (Specs, but creeped to speed Celest)
    Nihilego (Sash)
    Garchomp (R Helmet)
    Dhelmise (Item pending)
I don’t know a last mon to run, and I need critique on if this team is good or not

  8. Feh my heart just isn’t in the Pokemon spirit
I need to focus on how I can garuentee myself a Nintendo Switch and Zelda BOTW on launch

I have money to burn on this investment but I need to learn savvy pre-purchase skills in order to ensure

I was lucky enough to get my Wii U on launch only because nobody really goes to Toys R Us for this stuff but I fear that getting a Switch will be insanely hard

  10. I might participate in this, I mean I’ve got some physical attackers almost ready like Buzzwole and Araquanid, so I should be prepared for this competition this time.

  11. Anybody watch the new episode today?
If so I really hope they start putting in some episodes that aren’t bum around town filler
I want some indication of a plot

    And most importantly
    Protagonists catching Pokemon

  12. Is a Jolly Celestella good? I got it from one of my friends because I had Sun, and I’m not sure if its a good nature or not.

    Reply
    • Not really. speed is its worse stat, so its not ideal. I can always fix it with PKhex if you like and you don’t mind since it was something from your friend.

      Reply
      • It’s fine, thank you though. I’ll just have to be creative with the Jolly nature and see what I can do with it.

  16. Also sorry to complain but I really want to get this off my chest.
    Today sucked. A lot.
My school is giving us assigned seats at lunch, so if I don’t get put with my one friend then I’m just screwed socially for the rest of the year. My family is fighting about anything and everything. School work is already piling up and I’m getting behind. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot to be really overwhelmed with, but I’m just really stressed right now, sorry for complaining. Ugh.

    Reply
    • Lol. What? Assigned seating at lunch?

Isn’t Lunch supposed to be your own personal time? It’s not a class. What the hell, this is the stupidest thing I’ve heard yet this year.

      Reply
      • It’s supposed to be a punishment for people leaving behind trash, but it’s really flawed. The point is that they have a list of who’s at each table so that when they have trash they can properly punish the people. However, THERES LITERALLY NOTHING STOPPING SABOTAGE!
People are just going to throw trash on other’s tables as a prank to get those people into detention.

    • No worries. Family’s fight. Its just a matter of blacking it out and figuring out if its just bickering, or if its anything concerning. As for school, you’ll quickly learn to enjoy new people given pretty much at your age you can all find solace in one another’s angst and misery.

Also if it helps you feel better, the Rumors of Mother 3 coming to the Switch have become a lot more believable given the dev’s of Mother 3 have been invited to the switch event in Japan. Personally I still refute to believe it(I’ve been burned too many times to be knocked back down again with Nintendo messing around with us), but if real then its one more thing that might save the switch from its high chance of failure.

      • I appriciate your concern, it means a lot. However, I’ve made 1 friend in a year and a half of high school, that’s why I’m scared of this new seating chart. I’m not socially outgoing, so it’ll be either really awkward for the rest of the year or I skip lunch entirely. Probably the latter.

Also, that’s awesome! Any word on retro or monolith soft at the event?

What do you think Monolith Soft’s new project will be like? Like Chronicles was mores story driven while X was more open world exploration-y type of game. What will the next one be?

          • I really liked:
            – The world
            – The music
            – The weapon system
            – The plot (even though it was too short and SERIOUSLY A CLIFFHANGER!? If we don’t get a sequel I’ll be really suprised, why did they leave the plot so untied like that?)

          • -Open world is getting over done and it wasn’t that interesting a world to begin with.
-Subjective. Didn’t care for the soundtrack and found it inferior to Chronicles
-A horrible system for a bad game.
-Subjective, but I found it incredibly boring.

          • Well love what you love. I won’t hide the fact that I kinda regret buying a Wii U for that game as it was a colossal disappointment to me and honestly is one of the worst RPG’s that I’ve ever played. It felt like they stripped away everything that was good in Chronicles and handed us a shell of what it once was with a big sticker on it saying “now with a much bigger(empty and Boring) world and mechs).

Honestly if they ever do continue on that franchise I really do hope they just cut their losses and try to make something better as it really wasn’t a well designed game. But again to each their own. I’m the guy who kinda half expects Breath of the wild to under perform and probably be a 70-80’s score on Metacritic given the game really looks like its a year or two too late.

          • Ok, wait. That world is ANYTHING BUT EMPTY. It’s full of enemies, items, and quests. Even if the actual gameplay of the world was empty-ish, the world made up for that with beautiful continents and landforms and such, it all felt so alive to me.

Also I fully expect to enjoy BotW, but I have to agree that I feel like reviewers won’t. IDK why really, I guess it seems like the sort of game that you really need to play at your own pace and such, while reviewers will be simply trying to finish the story.

          • Agree to disagree there. Yes there are monsters to fight, items to find, and the occasional quest(though I remember the bulk of them being in the city hub), but that’s not a lot when you really think about it. Its kinda like the difference between playing skyrim, where in a game like that you can simply go off in one direction, ignoring the story and find a fantastic journey because the game was built with that in mind. That you could just go off, wander into a city and get one of the best weapons of the game, become a werewolf, and become an elite assassin before hitting level 2.

X felt a lot less hollow of an open world like say something of the assassin creed series if you’ve played a more modern version of it. It has big, vast worlds, but your generally doing a lot of busy work with it. Monsters are fine, but most sidequest feel like padding and busy work to keep you from rushing the story, and the massive borring collect-a-ton that was that game just felt like more busywork.

As for BotD, its more of a concern that it has a big emphasis on being open world, and might be seen as bad for that. Ignoring that Open world is starting to become bad stock in the gaming scene right now, it does look like its full of a lot of busywork that’s common to open world games. Weapons break so you have to make sure that you repair them or carry multiples of them in your bag. You’ve gotta eat food to restore health which requires you to go out and hunt and forage for it. It seems like their are very few people you’ll engage with which can work(look at Shadow of the Colossus), but I don’t think we’ve scene anywhere that can act as a hub to give the player a good sense of going from point A-B after every dungeon that is kinda needed in these sorts of open world games. Really It just seems like its interesting in concept, but it might leave a lot of people upset with the final product being more of an experiment then a satisfying experience, but ingeneral that seems to be half of Nintendo’s design philosophy, and doesn’t really seem to work well when looking to the big picture.

          • Also, I’m sure they will continue the franchise. The “Xeno” name is sorta like the FF title, it just shows that the game was made by Takahashi rather than being related storyline or gameplay-wise.

  24. Earthen siiiiiiiick
and i make this to reflect my misery
    Inphlegmza
    Poison/Ice
Contagious (physical contact erases opposing pokemon’s ability completely)
a large gooey teal and purple mound like Pokemon with a bulbous pink nose and grey and green splotches on its body
“This Pokemon’s immune system is extremely powerful, scientists often introduce many viruses to their pokemon in hopes that it creates cures and vaccines”

    Reply
          • (Please note this was way before Gen VII)
Well it starts out as Stoofy
            Stoofy
            Fairy
            The Plush PKM
Fluffy (was Fur Coat but this is better)/Healer
A small light pink spherical Pokemon with long floppy ears tied in a knot and rabbity feet, large blue sequin like eyes and a big fluffy tail
“With their soft bodies and cute appearance it is a very popular Pokemon but they lack the instinct to fight back so they are easily hunted”

But when a Stoofy’s happiness is raised to the maxium with their trainer they evolve into the hulking Mashmellow
(i’m actually very proud of this one)
            Mashmellow
            Fairy/Fighting
            Overstuffed PKM
            Fluffy/Healer
a very very large round pinkish Pokemon with long tubular arms, dumpy feet and a large patch on their stomach, they still have the sequin eyes but the right eye is now a large X shaped patch, they have bits of fuzz popping out of parts of their body and one of their ears is ripped
“these Gentle giants protect their young and their trainers with their very lives, no matter what pain it feels it will solemnly protect their friends”

The whole idea is the idea of a security object like soft blankets and toys that children often use to shield themselves from pain, and this pokemon replicates this idea by having a shit load of support moves

  25. You seriously don’t know how happy I’d be if Nintendo really embraced Swoof, the switch puppy. They could really use a cool new mascot like that.

  26. New Pokemon for my region:

    Sewerotte
    The Sewage Rat Pokemon
    Type: Poison
Ability: Strong Jaw/ Venomous Teeth (all biting moves inflict poison status. Biting moves that are the Poison type inflict the badly poisoned status)
    Height: 1′ 00″
    Weight: 23 lbs
Dex Entry: Sewerotte lurk in many dark places, especially the sewers. Living in the sewers made their physiology full of many hazardous chemicals, so their fangs are very lethal and full of poisons.

    Evolutionary line: Sewerotte -> ??? -> ???

Name origin: Sewerotte is a combination of sewer and rotte, Norwegian for Rat.

          • It’s kinda like the Rattata of the region, but its attack and speed are on par with one another, its defense and HP is ok (with HP being slightly lower than defense), but its Special Attack and Speed suck

          • Well in the first form it’s meh because it’s a first form, but in its final form, it’s:
            HP: In the middle 70s
            Attack: In the low 100s
            Defense: In the 90s
Sp Attack: In the low 40s
Sp Defense: In the middle 50s
            Speed: High 100s

It’s really an average mon, sadly

          • Plus it’s signature ability can be really good, so if it were competitive it would be in RU, and barely in UU

          • I just looked, and that Seedot line is sound very awesome. Steel is something I would have never expected, so nice job on surprising me!
And an Electric/Poison Platypus would sound dope 😮

          • 😀
            THanks!
And those weren’t all the ones I meant
The Shiftry line was one of the three I mentioned

            The other two are further

          • Just saw Puffusket and Locurse:
First off, Locurse is the best fakemon idea I’ve ever heard of. It combines the general concept of a Locust, while also adding in the elements of death, therefore relating to ghost. I will say its ability might be a tad bit op, but thats just me lol.
As for Puffusket, pretty clever idea to have it be the ice version of Pikipek!

    • funny coincidence
though not a pokemon, i did have a Sewer Rat monster for this other game i wrote Middle School to High School (which i now have a sequel)
but it was called a Mutrat where it was a rat the size of a pug with a giant eyestalk growing out of its back, they could log that eye like a grenade and explode with slime very very nasty

it is was for the Waste Management Plant underneath Darknite City where you save the forth and final playable character from the trash grinder, his name was Steel Metway 16 yr old cyborg who’s family is threatened by mobsters that run the city to make them weapons

        • The Main characters are
Flash Motors: a young world traveling youth with a prosthetic metal claw, from birth he’s had a unique ability to generate electricity which this metal claw helps manage
Zap; a tiny floating spherical robot, zany and happy go lucky and Flash’s Best friend and “adoptive brother” thought to be a defective consumer model of a Cy-Bot Zap’s sense of humanity makes him far different than a machine with a unknown past

and the other playable characters include
Abby “lanch” Winters: Young Girl with freezing powers
Bruce Grover: a feral teen with plant manipulation
and Steel Metway: Cybernetically enhanced teen genius

          • chill with the furbait crap it is just a regular monkey tail, and besides this game is filled with all sorts of aliens and monsters its kinda super futuristic which allows a diverse cast of characters but the main ones are all human

            BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTT

he has a deep intimidating voice and lethal martial art skills but…he’s a !@#$ing fish

Eleanor a cheery tall elephant girl
and lastly Kenny a smart turtle

          • and during this story you are attacked by Sakamashiro’s Enemy The Steel Samurai Darashi
along with his henchlady Aracid (a kabuki Dart Frog) and Tok-Tok a childish but gigantically brawny ogreman thing with a metal mask (he becomes a good guy at the end because the other two constantly pick on him and he only stays because they’re his only “family”)

          • one of four unlockable episodes at the end of the game the others include
Journey to the center of Abby (might change it to Bruce): Fantastic Voyage ripoff when a virus epidemic threatens the city so they need the cells from patient zero
The Under Race: (bringing up to speed Steel’s cousin Cecil is the go-to guy of the game smarty brainiac nerd type) a rival from Cecil’s past returns and she challenges him to a race to get a rare metal that was recently discovered deep underground

          • I have a whole game written since 6th grade all the way to college
            this was my life’s project

            I even have a sequel

          • the sequel is about time travel and reforging a lost machine that can travel through time
            The Blade of the Chronics

          • 1. I play Battleborn, this is legitimately 20 different reasons in itself, including salt.
            2. Everyone credits it for character, and I personally find the characters kinda bland…
            3. Tracer being adorable can only keep me entertained for so long
            4. SOOOO much overhype
            5. Stereotypes…stereotypes… was there even one character who wasn’t one?
            6. People say it requires skill. If your team isn’t braindead, you win.
            7. That shady Origins edition shit
            8. How long it takes them to make a dlc
            9. Some of the fanbase is pretty fucking cancer
            10. EVERY PERSON KEPT PESTERING TO PLAY THE DAMN GAME
            11. How fast you die….
            12. Finally, I honestly didn’t even find anything remotely likeable about the majority of the cast

          • 6. That’s exactly what skill is though. If your team can still win randomly if it were braindead, then the game does not reward skill.

          • I mean, a braindead team who works together wins…. I feel like things like character matchups and actual individual skill are pointless which kinda pisses me off

          • Individual skill matters, but it’s better in the context of team play.

The game should not allow one person to consistently carry, because that defeats the purpose of being a team game.

          • I know
I’m more annoyed about the first part. I feel like matchups should have some role…

But honestly, this wasn’t that bad to me compared to the other reasons I hate overwatch

          • 1. Get over it. Battleborn kinda killed itself

            2. They are all really diverse and at least have more personality than TF2

            3. Fuck you she’s precious

            4. Not really tho?
            5. Well when you have a game that doesn’t allow for much character exploration stereotypes are needed.
            6. Well that’s not on the game. That’s just true for any team game.
            7.???
            8. You mean putting actual effort into their expansions they are giving for free?
            9. How does that reflect on the game?
            10. Cuz it’s good
            11. Git gud
            12. Maybe because you don’t want to?

          • 1. Not really, also I need to deal with Overwatch fans coming into our fanbase and acting like cunts constantly. Plus, it was the comparison of Battleborn being compared to Overwatch again and again that killed it…
            2. Eh
            3. I guess
            4. Yeah… Too much far too much
            5. Still
            6. I guess
            7. You were basically forced to pay 20 dollars more to get it on console
            8. I’ve seen other games do it. Sombra was not effort. Sombra is literally every stealth character ever made.
            9. It doesn’t, it just adds up
            10. Still, it gets annoying
            11. I mean you legit lose so much health so fast
            12. I wanted to when I first started, and I’ll admit I liked Roadhog….. and Tracer for a while… than it started to stop resonating with me

          • 1. Battleborn got cocky and tried to steal Overwatch’s spotlight and it failed because of it. It doomed itself

            8. Ok so yeah making a whole new haracter just takes a few days. No! There is slot that goes into it. Modeling, animation, voice lines, skins, PR and the animations, it takes a long time.

          • 1. When? I’ll admit the marketing was absolutely shit, but the idea that two entirely different games got compared to each other kinda pisses me off…
            8. I’m saying Sombra was literally just a copy paste and it ticked me off

          • I mean shes a stealth character with the abilities of EVERY SINGLE STEALTH CHARACTER EVER
With all the freaking teasing that was done for her, you think she could have been a bit more innovative

          • 1. It released a week before Overwatch trying to take the spotlight. It was also i king with Overwatch on social media.
            8. No she wasn’t though. I mean there is only so much you can do with stealth characters. I mean Soldier 76 is just a regular FPS character and no one cares about that

          • 1. It was announced MONTHS before Overwatch was, who is taking the Spotlight now? Battleborn Announcement: July 2014, Overwatch: November 2014. This can go on for days, but Battleborn was announced first and thus deserved the earlier release date.

Sombra was a drag, it took so much to figure it out it got old and she was extremely disappointing.
            Still hot af tho.

I don’t own Battleborn but I do own Overwatch, and it is a shame how Battleborn died.

          • I’m sorry, but as a HUGE TF2 fan, I digress to number 2. After the 8 years TF2 has been out and the 3 years I’ve played it, I realized how Sex and Race doesn’t decide the diversity of the characters. Sure everyone is male in TF2 and 7 or 8 of the 9 are white, they are all extremely different. Heck, even the white ones are diverse, you have someone from Germany, Russia, Australia, France, and 3 distinct parts of America. Demo is from Scotland and Pyro is from… No one knows. But that is besides the point, they all have CHARACTER. I have both games and have spent money on both, but I feel more attached to Scout than Tracer, as he is a fun, talkative, lovable guy. Through comics and the Official SFMs valve had released you grow to love the characters and how they interact. Overwatch is full of cliche stereotypes and characters you just can’t feel attached do. TF2 is born on character and having a tragic backstory won’t cut it to have ‘character’.

For example: “The freakin’ cart stopped!” Who from TF2 said this? Scout! Of course he did!

“We need to move the payload” Uhhhh… This is the most diverse line Mercy says for a Payload being stuck.

          • THANK YOU!!! I CAN AGREE TO THIS!
I’ve played neither for all too long compared to most… but I can tell you Scout for example IMMEDIATELY stuck out to me,I just enjoy him
I enjoy everyone in that game

          • “The bloody cart stopped!” Obviously Demoman, Scottish as can be
“Get the cart moving, maggots!” Obviously Soldier, as Soldier’y’ as can be

And might I remind you of the Player Economy in TF2, it Is like a whole other world there, there is an actual trading system made by players! And the cosmetics outshine OW’s cosmetics by a mile. But I digress, they are different games and deserved to be treated as such.

          • When the game came out (Idk if it still exists) You basically had to pay 20 dollars more for it on console and were given a few cheap skins in return

          • Yeah…
Basically, I know people will hate me for it, but I generally hate Overwatch… I didn’t enjoy my experience with it, I didn’t enjoy my friends pestering me over it, and I didn’t enjoy the fanbase shitting on me for enjoying another game that was killed because of the sheer fact that it was compared to overwatch despite being a game that I thought was more enjoyable and more passionate….
but that’s just me i suppose

          • I somewhat agree, but to a lesser extent. My only reason for not liking it is that I just didn’t have fun lol

          • XD
(On the other hand, I prefer the game where I can play as a snake assassin with the personality of a psychotic Australian Billy Mays, but hey, my opinion is apparently wrong)

          • How is your opinion wrong when no one (here) is saying Battleborn sucks? 🙂

If I played FPS (which I don’t since it makes me dizzy), there are some Battleborn, Paladins and Overwatch characters I like if I played any of those.

          • I know… it’s just I’m so used to being shit on repetitively for liking it…
Plus…. I’m literally the best person in the whole community with a character… I got ties to the game man… it hurts to watch it die

      • It’s a really fun team based shooter similar to TF2. You have a bunch of unique characters to choose from all with lots of different abilities and play styles. It’s super fun!

    Height: 3′ 04″
    Weight: 0.9 lbs

It roams cyberspace, feeding on the data of another person’s information and then proceeding to leave a virus. Because it was deemed a failure, it was called “MissingNo” for awhile.

    Malvanize -> ???

    Reply
    • Building off from that, I think they should move the old lady move relearner to early game and make her limited to moves your pokemon can learn at lower or same levels… then unlock Kukui later and he can teach all moves regardless of level.

  31. So this is my last mon I’m sharing for the day, and @BigGuyI:disqus I think you will like this one:

(They are both based on the concepts of a horned frog and sumo wrestling)

    Sumog
    The Horned Wrestler Pokemon
    Type: Ground
    Ability: Rough Skin/Sturdy
    Hidden Ability: No Guard
    Height: 2′ 09″
    Weight: 67 lbs
Dex Entry: This Pokemon often competes with others of its kind to see who is the best in wrestling. Their tough horned skin its very hard, and constantly gets hardened because they rest in thick mud.

    Sumoad
    The Horned Wrestler Pokemon
    Type: Ground/Fighting
    Ability: Rough Skin/Iron Fist
    Hidden Ability: No Guard
    Height: 7′ 08″
    Weight: 2067 lbs
Dex Entry: These Pokemon are feared by both humans and Pokemon because of their immense, yet deadly power that resides in them. Their arms are coated in hardened mud, which makes their arms heavy and making their punches hit like a nuke. Sumoad are so powerful that a full-powered punch can shatter an entire mountain, no matter the height of the mountain. People can tell when two Sumoad are fighting because of temors caused by their combat with one another.

So Lillie says she’s off to go to Kanto to find Bill so she can cure Lusamine, and is able to go.
Hau states he’s off to go to Kanto to find his dad, and he’s able to go.
And us, the playable character, who saved the Alola Region, stopped the Ultra Beasts, stopped Lusamine, cleared all the trials, and became the champion, cannot go to Kanto.

All I’m going to say is this
It might sound corny, but reality and imagination along with the limits of them are what this game is about

Pokedex Entry: Entering a cave with the possession of fruit is normally discouraged as these pokemon tend to fly toward this scent. If this Pokemon locates anything besides its own species, it will envelop them in its cape like wings, stinging them to hold them still as it sucks their body clean of blood in a matter of seconds. They occasionally venture out of caves in search of prey, such as livestock. Their speed and power makes them deadly pests that are hard to remove.

Blood Guzzler: The Pokemon restores its own health upon using a contact move on its opponent. This effect decreases the lower its opponent’s health is. (Heals for full damage against a max health opponent and 10% at 1% health)

Pokedex Entry: Desdash are much more developed than Fleetflight and tend to focus on speed and fighting. They have a primary focus on evolution so that they may run much further than they can at this stage. Their brains, unlike their bodies, are not so quick as they tend to be relatively dull and oblivious to obvious danger. This of course causes a huge hassle for anyone driving a vehicle.

  51. Guess what I just discovered! using my -intellectual- powers, I discovered leaks for the GEN 8 game!

Name of the game will be; POKEMON SUMMER/WINTER

Name of Professor will be; PINE

    Amount of Pokemon discovered; 110

    Region based off of; Iceland.

New Team, there, will be called Team Pirate.

Gyms return however, they’ll be a bit different and there’ll be 10 gyms.

Gyms’ types in order: (Water, Rock, Bug, Psychic, Fairy, Normal, Steel, Ghost, Dragon, Fighting)

    Reply
      • Nah there are certain gym leaders. However, the game has certain twists;

        – All Ice types are only available in Winter, all Fire types are only available in Summer.

        – In total, Pokedex will only have 777 Pokemon.

        – There’ll be a lot of Ice, Fire, Psychic, Ghost types, moderate amount of Grass, Flying, Rock, Ground and Steel types, barely any Dark and Fairy types, and none of the other types.

        Reply
    • I’m staying as far away from pokemon winter as I can, I hate winter and everything related to it, it’s only redeeming quality it’s that baroque composition, everything else sucks.

Also team pirate… what kind of name is that :v

  54. So me and my brother are gonna build our own decks to play each other. I know he’s planning to base his deck around a Machamp EX mostly. On top of that I have a sneaking suspicion that he’ll also have a Mewtwo EX in there. I’m thinking about making a deck that uses a couple of Darkrai EXs I have and possible using a Psychic type to take out the Machamp. I’ve never actually built a deck before (and neither has he) so I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything I’ll need to have a decent deck. Even if it’s not all that great compared to his in the end I’d like to have a deck that ins’t complete trash. Is Psychic/Dark a decent combo for a deck? I was also thinking about incorporating some colorless Pokemon to help fill out the deck as they’ll be super flexible, but then that’d give me a pretty decent disadvantage against his Fighting type Pokemon. Anyone with tcg experience have any suggestions and or guidance? lol

  57. So how’s this for a concept (bringing the chat back to Fakemon and you can’t stop me >:) )

‘Divine Pokémon’ – believed to be literal gods, the pets/champions of gods, or, after the world is made aware of Ultra Beasts and their status, merely Pokémon from another dimension that are even further removed genetically than the UBs that they can’t be captured at all and are immensely powerful with less restraint in power.

They’re summoned through Sigils they entrust to their chosen champions. These are stones that summon them in a fraction of their power (basically putting them in par with the varying ‘tiers’ of Legendaries, having anywhere between 570-720 BST). These Sigils also take up a Poké Ball slot, meaning they’re Pokémon in nearly all regards. However, they have stronger abilities than other Pokémon, can occasionally be tri-typed, and cannot use Z-Power.

  58. Professor Acacia: The professor of the ??? region who gives you your first Pokemon. Despite being relatively laid back, he seems to be very well informed about the potential of Ultra Energy and the destructive capabilities it contains. He is also said to be an expert at pokemon battle, once defeating two gym leaders back to back with just his trusty Morelull.

Pokemon Trainer Lyle/Carmen: Your old childhood friend who has been with you through thick and through. Despite the bonds you have, you two make the fiercest of rivals. (The player character gender not chosen)

The Showman: A strange person known for traveling all throughout the region and having extraordinary luck. Every time he takes a gamble, it always works. Rumor has it that he is that the pokeball charm around his neck is an actual Pokeball and gives him luck. In battle, he is known for his extraordinarily strong Mr. Mime. The player will encounter him several times throughout their journey and may even learn some untold secrets from him.

A bit of stuff for the story of meh fangame that will probably never get made

The Genesis Army: A criminal syndicate that lurks in the region, they are not known from most people in the region. They cause trouble in events usually kept quiet by the police, partially due to the fact that they leave the incident without a trace. The Genesis Army claim to be doing this for a powerful, destructive being told only in myths.

Sigil: Sky Sigil (Symbol is a golden α, Alpha)

Second one’s Sigil is the Sea Sigil, which has a blue Beta (β)

Third one’s Sigil is the Soul Sigil, which has a red Gamma (γ)

Sigils are kinda like their Poké Balls, but becuase they’re Gods or God-Like, they can only be summoned through these Sigils in a weakened form for limited times.

    • Because I’m a nerd and I want to explain

There’s not really a ‘modern God’ for the earth in Greek Mythology. Gaia is primordial, and the primordial sky and sea gods were replaced: but not Gaia. So I decided to split Earth between the three sons of Kronos.

Zeus-Is the King of a mountain, presumably the most impressive one in the world (Mt. Olympus)

Poseidon-Easy, he’s literally the God of earthquake

Hades-Afterlifes are often seen as subterranean, and especially as Pluto he’s associated with precious gems and metals which furthers the ‘underground’ aspect.

Their light blue spots on their body glow brightly, which a whole clutter of them make a forest very calming and elegant. Type: Fire/Normal
Represents: The home, the hearth, the family
    Basis: Hestia/Vesta & Donkey
    Sigil: Hearth Sigil (Orange Sigil)

    ‘Divine Pokémon – Heritage’

    Type: Fairy/Normal
    Represents: Marriage, childbirth, women
    Basis: Hera/Juno & Cow
    Sigil: Heritage Sigil (Purple Sigil)

    ‘Divine Pokémon – Harvest’

    Type: Grass/Normal
    Represents: The harvest, agriculture, fertility
    Basis: Demeter/Ceres & Goat
    Sigil: Harvest Sigil (Green Sigil)

No symbols because u realised that instead I want the Greek alphabet to go in the order of childbirth for Rhea’s kids.

They’re simpler types (???/Normal Dual types) because all three, rather than forces of nature, seem to represent aspects of normal and family life (harvesting would’ve been much more common back in ancient times, and even then Demeter still has fertility to link her to the ‘family’ idea). They’re more simple as they’re more relevant and controllable by humans: but arguably just as important

  75. Just gonna make a master thread here of all the types for my ‘Divine Pokémon’. Mostly so I can keep track ^^;

    Mascots

    Love (Aphrodite/Venus)
    Fairy/Fire/Dark
(Fairy because of some love and beauty Imagery Charm, sweet kiss, Primarina, Sylveon, etc. Fire because of multiple love associations, such as ‘hot’ or ‘burning love’. Both are Dark as these emotions can bring out both evil, or Dark, as well as good, represented by Fairy and Fighting)

    War (Ares/Mars)
    Fighting/Steel/Dark
(Fighting because war, Steel because of weapons. Also, blood contains iron. Dark is explained above.)

    Passion (Eros/Cupid)
    Fairy/Fighting/Dark
(Combines parent’s types, as Love and War are the extremes of Passion. Also, can bring out the worst and best in people, hence the combination of types).

    • Celestial Archers

      Sun (Apollo)
      Fire/Electric/Psychic
(The sun is seen as a ball of fire, and Apollo is associated with prophecy. Electric kinda has liveliness and brightness as themes. Fulfills twin theme type wise, giving a weakness and strength against each other)

      Moon (Artemis/Diana)
      Rock/Ice/Fighting
(The moon is literally a chunk of rock, and is seen as cold. Hence, Rock/Ice. A focused and avid huntress – a fighter. Fulfills twin theme type wise, giving a weakness and strength against each other

      • Sons of Rhea

        Skies (Zeus/Jupiter)
        Flying/Electric/Ground

        Seas (Poseidon/Neptune)
        Water/Ice/Ground
(Is the God of the Seas and storms. There’s icy Seas and icy storms. God of earthquakes)

        Souls (Hades/Pluto)
        Ghost/Rock/Ground
(Is the God of the Underworld and its dead, as well as the treasures of the earth. Both connect to the underground.

        • Daughters of Rhea

          Heritage (Hera/Juno)
          Fairy/Poison/Normal
(Fairy-seen as feminine, she’s literally the God of Women. Also, marriage and child birth, which often and always (respectively) include women. Poison represents how vengeful and petty she can be, tainting and marring the lives of those she hates. Normal because her aspects are part of every day life)

          Harvest (Demeter/Ceres)
          Grass/???*/Normal
(Grass, is a duh, she represents the harvest. Normal because harvesting is normal, as is the cycle of life and death she also represents.

*Maybe Bug – bugs experience life and death much more than humans, and harvest a bunch too. Bit ironic though, they can interfere with human life/death and harvest. Bug also just goes nicely with Grass and gives at least one Bug divine)

          Hearth (Hestia/Vesta)
          Fire/???*/Normal
(Fire, the hearth is obvious. The home is obviously part of normal life, as is the family and domestic life.

*Maybe Dragon??? Just goes well with Fire (Dragon flames, etc) and Dragons protect their homes (hoardes) just as Hestia protects homes and the hearth. Also gives at least one Dragon divine)

  78. ok so wow, singles in the battle tree is like 1000x easier than doubles, honestly doubles just seems rigged against you half the time

    Reply
    • Honestly I found it to be the complete opposite. Singles being much harder with doubles being super easy most of the time, though still having a few cheap cases every so often. I suppose it amounts to what format your more familiar with and how you build your team.

      Reply
      • no I don’t think it has anything to do with what format you’re familiar with because I’m a purely doubles guy and haven’t played singles since b/w (i did it once in gen 6) and I literally like mowed down all the competition in singles but can barely get through one battle in doubles, and its like they know what move you’re going to use before you use it sometimes in doubles its strange, but oh well

        Reply
        • Really I find that weird. I can barely get through ten battles in singles, but managed to get a 48 streak in super doubles easily, and even then only lost due to a mix of getting drunk and setting down my game for hours and forgetting pretty much everything about the battle I was in at the time.

          • Kind of a gimic like idea, but a pokemon based off of brionac could be interesting. More or less its a spear that has such a desire for fighting that its all but sentient and needs to be contained in water or poison to keep it from lashing out and randomly killing people. So maybe something like a steel/fairy type with some sort of ability that boosts its attack stat every turn it doesn’t attack, but reset’s every time it does attack. So things like a protect would lead to a +1, swords dance would actually be a +3. Only even bringing it up since it kinda came up in a conversation the other day for me.

  80. Good. While discussion is inactive, I just want to say… the Alola Friendly rules say legends are banned, but are UB’s and Silvally legends, officially? Heh heh heh.

    Reply
    • I don’t consider UBs or Sillvally as legends.

Lunala and Solgaleo are the main cover Legends

      Necrozma is a Legend

Tapus are small scale legends akin to legendary birds, legendary dogs e.t.c.

      .

Sillvally is just a special Pokemon, like Rotom, i.e. not a Legend.

UBs are just normal Pokemon from another dimension that have been enhanced with wormhole energy.

      Reply
    • UBs can be legendaries (Cosmog line, possibly Necrozma if its original dimension is Ultra Space), but it’s safe to assume that Ultra Beasts as a whole are not as they’re never referred to as such and don’t have any active roles in Mythology within the Pokémon universe. The closest to that in historical records is Ultra Beasts emerging from wormholes and fighting with the Tapu, but beyond Solgaleo and Lunala, none are called legends.

As well as this, we’ve seen a good amount of Nihilego (if I’m thinking right, at least five in Ultra Space in just one area, plus the one Lusamine captures, the one we catch, and the one that appears in Aether Paradise, if none of those overlap) and they’re treated more like a dangerous animal (a Parasite) than a respected being or a cryptid like legendaries and mythicals.

I severely doubt Type: Null is. It’s artificially created, and unlike Mewtwo (which comes from the genetic material of a legendary), Genesect (isn’t completely artificial as it’s a cyborg, and it’s possibly just considered mythical due to a combination of rarity and strength and Magearna (which is powered by the Soul Heart, which seems to be very powerful) it is never referred to as a legendary or mythical. The Pokédex literally only calls it a ‘Special Pokémon’ – if it was a legendary, GameFreak would’ve put more effort into establishing that.

      Reply
          • It puts rocks in holes in its palms and uses its muscles to shoot them. Geodude are shot at rare times.

If you really want a cannon for a arm hit up Magmortar
It blasts fireballs of over 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit out of its arms. Its breath also sears and sizzles.

            Or Clawitzer
Their enormous claws launch cannonballs of water powerful enough to pierce tanker hulls.

          • So is a rhino with cannon hands and a random ankylosaurus tail but you don’t hear me complaining

          • It just could’ve been executed a tad better
Don’t get me wrong the design is….unique

I mean the type combo and the theme are just trying too hard to mesh together

And the ability Steelworker is just an attempt to make its signature attack actually work for it despite not being the appropriate type to gain stab

          • I think it’s executed well enough.

Type combo and theme should go together, and ‘ghost ship’ + ‘seaweed’ logically creates a Ghost/Grass.

Steelworker makes sense as the anchor is not part of its body, but is still heavily integrated into it. If GameFreak really wanted, Anchor Shot could’ve easily been Grass or Ghost.

          • feh I still don’t like it, they’ve still should’ve done a Tiki inhabited by a fire spirit

I just really don’t like any sun and moon Pokemon and we’re officially on the small dex train…..

          • That would be a whole different Pokémon tho

On the bright side, small Dex means more focus and detail (especially with personality, Gen 7 Pokémon have much more personality than past gens)

          • Screw that,
that just limits a wider roster

I mean plenty of types didn’t get a fair share, ice, dark, steel, ground,
And that is pissing me off, you must agree that it’s unfair

          • >Ice? Yes.

Ground? It’s had plenty in past gens, two Gens of low numbers isn’t that bad, especially when it’s had Megas and Alola Forms as well. If it gets a low amount next Gen I can see why people would get annoyed, but if they start rotating which types get a lot of Pokémon you won’t see me complaining

          • That’s my biggest problem, they are substituting actual Pokemon with their gimmicks
and it doesn’t matter if and when we had plenty in the past with a type fair and equal representation should be honored

          • Lol no, the first five Gens are like just as bad

            Gen 1
            Like, no Ghosts and Dragons

            Gen 2
            Like, no Ghosts and Dragons

            Gen 3
Small selection of Ice-Types, Water-Types out the ass

            Gen 4
One non-legendary Dragon, very little Fire-Types. Arguably, an over saturation of Ground-Typed

            Gen 5
Like, the only balanced Gen (but in retrospect only introduced one Fairy line, which could hurt the inevitable remakes because of the whole ‘only Unova Pokémon’ shtick). Did introduce a shit ton of Fighting-Types and Dark-Types to the point that it shifted the metagame.

However, had a huge issue with diversity within types (all three non legendary Ice-Type lines were pure type, pretty much every non legendary Normal-Type was a physical attacker, all the Ground types were physical tanks (Excadrill only becomes a sweeper in sand, which isn’t that common in-game, especially without a sand setter ability)

          • Ice still had a ton of Pokémon in Gen I, and didn’t excuse the lack of ghosts and Dragons in Gen 2

It was a general observation numskulll

          • (sorry hard to flame and take care of shit at the same time)
Point is those types were last minute entries and only a select few got in

and you can’t really blame gen 1 or two with this kinda stuff since things were budding,

the point is, they should try to focus on large and diverse numbers of pokemon of a fair and equal amount of varying types with no one being over represented or ignored, because why have one very well written ice type when you can have plenty to chose from, its just common sense to want variety over. and anyone who says less is better is just plain wrong (only because there’s a high precent their favorite types didn’t get the boot)

Point is Gamefreak is lazy now with pushing gimmicks and features when in the very end it is still a pokemon game and everyone wants a lot of pokemon to chose from

(And FYI Gen 4 only had a lot of ground because of preexisting Ground types getting cross gen evos, if you took those out the total would be 5)

          • Cross Gen evos are still new Pokémon

All gens have still been really flawed with distribution of types

Having to meet a quota of Pokémon per type is just creatively stifling – if there’s a Grass/Dark competing with a Water/Fairy to get in and there’s less Water/Fairies but GF feels the Grass/Dark would be better, they should go for it

The gimmicks are keeping the games from growing stale and I return to take time and resources from new Pokémon, it’s necessary

          • some yeah but i still feel everything from gen 3-5 was pretty fair
now its just a select number of pokemon of each type if we’re lucky

          • Dragon was over used in Gen.3 though supposed to be a mythical like type or rare and precious then they pulled to many out their a $$

          • Still Wooden anchors are way to ancient to actually function they are at leadt 300 years old rottimg in the ocean sooo I can’t say I hate but I’m not a big fan

          • It doesn’t have cannon hands, as much as I love the idea of a Rhyperior with a stone Gatling gun arm

It merely has holes in its Palms where it places rocks and through muscular compression it fires it

      • Well I mean they’re both grass/Ghost trappers so I understand why people thought so, but I was pleasantly surprised to the see the difference

  81. Really hope Stars gives us Special and physical Z-Moves tbh. Some look like they could be both simultaneously (like Gigavolt Havoc, you could easily imagine the Pokémon charging covered in electricity or just discharging it) and others look like they’re physical and then special or special then physical (like All-Out Pummelling, with the projected fists before the charge). But some just feel immersion breaking, like Twinkle Tackle (lel there’s only two physical fairy moves and one is fixed damage) and Breakneck Blitz

  82. Fanmon ideas

Name: Morbird (Mors + Bird, Morbid)
    Species: Corvid Pokémon
    Type: Normal/Flying
    Ability: Rattled/Sheer Force

    Name: Blesserine (Bless + Passerine)
    Species: Raven Pokémon
    Type: Ghost/Flying
    Ability: Blessing*/Sheer Force

    Name: Cursserine (Cursed + Passerine)
    Species: Uncle Qrow Crow Pokémon
    Type: Dark/Flying
    Ability: Omen*/Sheer Force

-Blessing: Stacks the PRNG in your team’s favour (slightly higher critical hit chance, higher magnitude chance, basically serene grace’s buff as fuck cousin for the your side (doesn’t stack)

-Omen: Stacks the PRNG against the enemy, meaning less multi-hits, lower magnitudes, less crits, higher chance of status screwing them over, etc.

        • but op means complicated and way overscripted
Just focus on simple abilities that state their purpose instead of these complicated over the top giga abilities

          Reply
          • Its not that strong, it’s a luck ability on two frail Pokémon

It’s literally ‘slightly tipping the PRNG in all aspects’. That is simple enough, especially for a fan concept. Hell, it’s less complex than water bubble

          • then just say increases the likelihood of effects since that’s what it basically does
its just so freaking complicated by trying to make a ability that affects things like varying random effects like bullet seed or magnitude

          • Really not that complex

Literally tipping the RNG in your favour or tipping it out of their favour

          • Doesn’t go with the Pokémon’s theme though

It’s meant to be a symbol of good luck and a literal lucky charm, not a symbol of Air Slash + Thunder Wave spam

          • well that’s your own fault,
i just think its a hell of a lot easier just to split the difference (this is a branched evo right?)
one is lucky and the other is unlucky
ergo one ability makes it easier to gain better effects, or crit easier, or just pain guarantee to hit
            and the other vice versa

but trying to have one ability try and do all these things at once is truly just too much and unbelievable

not to sound elitist or preachy but the cornerstone of a good fakemon is a solid dignified base, not trying to be over the top with its aspects, a modest idea with a modest ability

            You getting me?

          • In game has shitty Pokémon with great abilities

            This is that

Also, yeah, the abilities are complex, but it’s not like they’re OP or anything and frankly that’s the point of fan made stuff

It’s not meant to like go to GF or anything

It’s concepts you know won’t be real but do for fun

  83. Since are still doing Fakemon, here’s the rest of the evolutionary line for Silkulla:

    Shellion
    The Concealed Pokemon
    Type: Bug/Fairy
    Ability: Shell Armor/Illuminate
    Hidden Ability: Overcoat
    Height: 2’00”
    Weight: 23 lbs
Dex Entry: Contary to what Silkulla is like, Shellion are a dark red, because of the metamorphic effect on Silkulla after evolution. Their shell encased around their body is somewhat tough so that it can safely prepare for evolution. Shellion often hang around on branches, with their silk latched onto it. However, the silk can break and fall, so sometimes Shellion can be found falling from trees on accident.
Name Origin: Shellion is a combo of Shell and Vermillion

    Lustesolai
    The Elegant Pokemon
    Type: Bug/Fairy
    Ability: Magic Guard/Illuminate
    Hidden Ability: Overcoat
    Height: 4’04”
    Weight: 36 lbs
Dex Entry: Lustesolai are one of the most beautiful Pokemon in the region. They glow a beautiful light from their light green wings, and illuminate the area when at nighttime. The glow on their wings are different for each Lustesolai, so there are varieties of them in the wild. Dust from their wings can cause relaxation amongst any, and for those affected by its dust are taken away by its elegance.
Name Origin: Lustesolai is a combination of luster, esoteric, and gealai, which is Irish for lunar.

Evolutionary line: Silkulla -(level 13)-> Shellion -(Level up at level 25 when at nighttime)-> Lustesolai
