[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

Scans

Translations

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

 NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

  1. Alolan Grimer is basically the same idea as Trubbish. Why rehash things that have already been done when there are so many other ideas that haven’t been used for pokemon. Like if they wanted a trash-based pokemon they could’ve just made a Roach thats bug/dark or bug/poison.

  2. I’m seeing a lot of people complain about the new interface since it tells you which moves are super effective against which, and I find that stupid. It makes no difference to me since I have already memorised them,and it’s just a small thing to make it appeal to newcomers
    However I will be pissed if it shows stuff like ground moves being immune due to levitate,grass types being immune to leech seed etc

  3. I have yet to see an Alolan form that I like enough to actually use in-game. Doesn’t look like their will be since most Kanto Pokemon don’t really appeal to me anyway…
    Even having said that my current game team for Sun consist of only 3 Pokemon..

    Rowlet
    Rockruff
    Salandit
    Jangmo-o

    Come on Gamefreak, give us something

  4. Jose Otero of IGN tweets that stereotypic 3D for battles in S/M are no longer an option and only available for PokeFinder

  5. aaagh, how come the *one* page we have is the one with the least interesting stuff?

    and since people below were talking about it, here’s my prospective team so far:
    -Rowlet
    -Lycanroc (Midday)
    -Ninetales (Alolan)
    -Marowak (Alolan)

    and maybe Jangmo-o, i’ll decide on it when/if the rest of this magazine ever leaks…

    Rowlet = Ankh
    Litten = Kazari
    Jangmo-o = Eiji Hino
    Oranguru = Gamel
    Vikavolt = Uva

  8. competitve wise I love the new typing of alolan grimmer. Muk already had a good special defense and hp, average defense and a good movepool, hopefully with his new typing it would impact the tiers.

    but design wise: lame, lazy, ugly. They could have done a better job

    Oricorio (Sensu Style)
    Jangmo-o
    Crabrawler

    Sun 2: (Aurora)

    Brionne
    Ninetales
    Oricorio (Baile Style)

    There are my teams. Depending on whether Jangmo-o really turns Dragon/Fighting type I’ll trade Dramp on my Moon for Jangmo-o in my sun. And I’m sure my teams will change 37 more times by the time the games released…
