[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

Scans

Translations

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

      • rattata with a mustache seems ridiculous and raticate looking like it has the mums aren’t all very appealing but i still liked them anyways but this…….this grimer, no just no

      • “and i even liked-” meaning i know alola raticate looks eh but still has a major difference in visuals compared to alola grimer’s counterpart

  1. Not that it wasn’t well speculated, but we got confirmation that the character we play as moves to Alola via plane from the Kanto region. That’s cool.

  2. I’m really angry how much Kanto is getting special treatment. Arguably the worst games in the series getting love for it being first. I thought we were celebrating 20 years not 1996. Acknowledge the other regions. The ones that actual fans enjoy. Give us Alolan forms of Z moves of Pokemon from all regions. Give Maractus some attention, or Vespiquen. Pokémon that need something to make them stand out.

    • Or yknow, Lumineon perhaps?
Or actually cater to the fans and do something about Flygon and Milotic (Wink)
The only Kanto Pokemon that REALLY needs attention imo is Jynx cause gen 4 evos. Besides that, NOTHING else should be getting any

    • I don’t really like Kanto, but R/B can’t be blamed for being the worst games in the series. They started everything despite having obvious limitations. Naturally compared to all the future games that get to introduce more and more features with better hardware R/B are going to look bad. But without Kanto kicking things off, there’s no Sun and Moon to be looking forward to. That said, I do agree and wish everything about Pokemon was being celebrated rather than the focus seemingly being Gen 1 nostalgia.

        • I agree it is the worst, but that isn’t a reason to fault it. When you’re comparing it to all the future games that got to introduce more stuff and look even better, the Gen 1 games should be the worst.

          • It’s the same game under a new skin with a bit of post-game. The story is still bland and the towns/cities are boring. I’m just saying the hate for it being the worst isn’t warranted, but the hate for it constantly being pandered to is haha.

Nothing to do with anything, but the only time I enjoyed Kanto was getting to go back to it as a post-game region. But I’d be angry if it was a post-game region for a 2nd time. That’d throw me over the edge. We’ve been there done that with Kanto, it’s nice to reference it here and there, but I don’t need to go back.

      • It’s not the lack of mechanics, it’s the blandness of the region. Very few notable monuments. At least Johto had the ruins of alph, a lighthouse and pretty pagodas.

  3. Can we all just point out how scary these mons will be in competitive?
I mean, a possible dragon dancer with possible drain punch that can switch in on a hyper voice

  5. Not sure if it’s been stated yet, but 3D doesn’t appear to work in battles at all anymore. Personally, I don’t care. I can’t remember the last time I turned 3D on. My eyes are too sensitive.

  6. So according to the GameExplain two hour play through they encountered pokemon they can’t talk about yet. Does anyone one have any idea what types they might have encountered? or do you think they just saw evolutions of what they encountered (starter, pikipeck, ladyba, and Yungoose) Sorry for the bad spelling! 😛

    Reply
      • yep I know that but I am wondering if there are pokemon (new) that we haven’t seen that are encountered early or if it is like in the early generations were there are only like five or so pokemon encountered in the first part of the game

  8. There so many creative and logical ideas for Alolan forms such as pure water Grimer, a Fire/Rock Golem, fire/water lapras with a volcano on top instead of the shell.
And over here we have game freak randomly slapping type on to things. Plus they are kanto only for some shit reason

    Reply
    • i don’t think Pure Water Alolan Grimer makes any sense
I mean its a pile of sludge, if you take away the sludge then no grimer

      Reply
      • my theory is that Gimer found its way to the Alolan region, and that since a pure and sunny tourist location it was no place for Grimer they drove them away and since they had no habitat they had to fight back…….ugh they’re freaking bio-hazardous slime they would have no natural predators
