[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

Scans

Translations

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

        • And again you’re assuming that i’m acting and thinking like that. How bout you get over your assumptions? *InsertLOLheretonotseemoffensive*

          • So you’re saying that you’re just joking then? I have no problem with people being frustrated with not knowing what the rest of CoroCoro has, but acting like the person who is leaking the magazine SHOULD give it to us is a bit silly if you ask me. If you’re joking then fine and I rescind my comments, but there’s only so many times I need to see people complaining about something as dumb as receiving info a day or two early……I don’t mean to get into an argument so I think what’s best is if we just agree to disagree for now…….

  2. OKAY new theory to go with my last one about the Apokélypse in the New Testament. Theimre will be a normal human that will claim to be God/Jesus and that is when the Apocalypse will happen. Type: Null could be an attempt to create an artificial Arceus and its type will change with the Plates. THEN ARCEUS DESTROYS THE WORLD IN GEN 4 REMAKES

  3. Yesterday I was toying around with some theories to explain why we can capture the God of Pokemon, and I may have come up with something. What if Arceus isn’t God? Arceus’ etymology suggests that it’s name may come from ‘archaic’ or other similar words, but what it’s supposed to be ‘archangel’ instead? I’m theorizing that there’s actually a higher being that created Arceus who in turn created the Pokemon world, and that’s why we can capture ‘God.’

Bonus: The UBs are the gods that created Arceus, and they’re wreaking havoc on the Pokemon world because they’re infuriated that humans are attempting to replicate their power with Type: Null.

    • I don’t see how it isn’t the “god” or shall we say cardinal deity of the pokemon world. It resides over the creation trio. If that doesn’t make you a god, idk what does.

        • It may not be “all powerful,” but it wouldn’t be a pokemon if it was. It’s possible that Arceus has an ancient form (avoiding using the words primal here) where its power was 10 fold. Who knows, they haven’t elaborated much. I will say this introduction of UB’s and Type:Null is highly interesting and I definitely think they’re planting seeds for a Sinnoh remake in which there could be a “delta episode” chapter with Arceus.

          • Maybe within the context of our world and our concept of religions and gods. I think it boils down to GF not realizing what kind of can of worms that they’d be opening for the franchise at the time, but I think they’re circling around to a point where they’re ready to answer those questions.

          • Just being worshipped doesn’t make something a god.
A creator god must always be omnipotent in a monotheistic religion.
Polytheistic religions change the rules slightly, but without Palkia, Dialga and Giratina being described as gods, we can’t really assume there’s polytheism involved.

          • I wouldn’t count that because it’s anime based and not game based. The anime isn’t exactly known for following the rules of the game.

    • I’ve always thought Arceus isn’t god.
It makes more sense that humans saw its power and simply called it a god, without realising it’s just another legendary.

I don’t think there is a god Pokemon, they probably all evolved from radiated bacteria. Heck, maybe humans evolved from Pokemon.

Don’t like the ‘Bonus idea’ because it would mean ‘gods’ are beatable.

        • How can we even be sure it’s a god if there’s no in-game talk of it being one?
Besides, someone must know if there’s a Pokedex entry, the player doesn’t write them.

          • Which brings us back to “how do they know it’s a god” and “who actually calls it a god in the game?”.

I’m starting to think it was never a god and fans just assumed.

And I always assumed it was just the regional professor doing it.

          • It is clearly supposed to be a god though

-Encountered in Hall of ORIGIN which is a floating staircase above Spear Pillar, a holy site in Sinnoh

            – Creates a Dialga, Palkia or Giratina in HGSS, Pokemon that are basically gods

            – Arceus and the Jewel of life has many biblical references. His judgement could be tied to God’s wrath on Judgment day

            – His name literally has daus as part of its name origin

            – Hoopa movie shows Arceus Preists

            – Is referenced as the original one and creator through out DPPt

          • It’s never stated what the hall is the origin of, and humans most likely named it.

Those aren’t necisarily gods either, just legendaries. It proves that it can create Pokemon, but so can humans and humans are not gods.

That depends if you accept that as canon.

That’s a fair point, but again, that only shows it’s god-like. It could easily be a false god.

That proves there is a religion centred around him, but not that he is god. Egyptians once worshiped normal humans as if they were gods.

But there is no proof that it is actually capable of creating a world or region, and it’s possible it just created the Sinnoh region.

          • Do you have a minute to talk about Arceus?

I’ve always seen PokeDex entries as Developer’s input/stories for players. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense that you capture an unknown PKMN and immdiately have a description. It’s stupid! If you go by that, then we at least know it created the universe.
Well, not that it matters, we’ll most likely know in Sun & Moon.

          • Evidence fans cite:
-Referred to as “The Original One”
            -Signature move is Judgment
-GF never let us catch it
-Highest BST of all non-mega/reverted pokemon
-Master of Lake Guardians and Creation Trio
-It literally CREATES an egg for 3 legendary pokemon, something that is conceived impossible to do within the lore of the game

So maybe a lot of it is fan inference, perhaps, but they give us a lot to go off of. It may not be a god, but it is a creator and perhaps the first pokemon.

          • “The original one” could mean that it is only the original Sinnoh pokemon, not the original pokemon of all the world.

Its move being Judgement is more fair, but judging people doesn’t necisarily mean it’s a god.

GF intended people to catch it originally.

That’s certainly a fair point, but is by no means damning. It’s only 40 points more than Mewtwo and Mewtwo was man-made.

There are lots of trio masters.

That’s impressive, but that doesn’t mean it’s a god. Humans have created a legendary pokemon before (Mewtwo). Mew is believed by scientists to be the ancestor of all pokemon, which raises the awkward question of whether Arceus created Mew or whether Arceus is decended from Mew.

        • Standalone pokemon.
They’ll be flattened within minutes from a single powerful move unless there’s some kind of obscure mechanic we haven’t been informed of. When it’s 6v1, you tend not to care about conserving pokemon.

        • You’ve been spending too much time on 4chan 😛

Still though, would you rather battle a gym or walk around a forest picking up mushrooms?

          Reply
          • lol I rarely ever go on 4chan and when I do it’s looking at Pokémon “leaks”. I recently replayed Y and Black and they were so easy. Might as well have something that gives us insight into the world

          • I meant using the > as a quote thing. That’s a very 4chan thing to use 😛

With or without exp share on?
I’ll admit they aren’t always challenging
(tbh I can’t remember the last time I lost to a trainer in a pokemon game that wasn’t part of the battle facility (not even the champion), I don’t think I’ve lost to anyone since maybe the second game I’ve owned)

I’d still rather fight a gym leader than go picking up mushrooms or fishing for specific pokemon, or smashing a certain number of rocks.

    • They only played 2 hours though. Meaning there could be more Trials, and if they played 7 in the first 2 hours, there could very well be 18

      Reply
      • From the way it’s written it implied they were told that there are 7 trials, not that they completed 7 trials in the 2 hours.

It’s very possible that the writer got the wrong end of the stick or made a mistake when writing though.

        Reply
          • Like I say, they might have got the wrong end of the stick somehow, or it could have been a translation issue or something.

I’ve known people they employ to distribute pokemon be incapable of pronouncing the names of the pokemon or remembering which pokemon they’re giving out.

          • I imagine it like this
The reporter: “So how many trials are there”
Person: “I dunno like, Seven, I guess”
The reporter: “Oh cool seven thanks”
            *Puts seven in article*

Seven just seems like an random number, and without the pun, Odd

          • 7 Battle Frontier Symbols in Hoenn I suppose.

But yeah, that’s the sort of things reporters do. Reporter brain instead of Pokefan brain.

    • Well this is just proof Ash can’t be replaced until the end of next gen. He always wins these little side things.. like the other islands and battle frontier. Would be really anti-climatic
