The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

- Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type. It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
- Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
- Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
- Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
- Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
- The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
- Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in
NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.
Out of curiousity, what’s everyone’s ‘least expected’ favourite Pokémon? Like, a Pokémon that you think nobody else would be able to guess until you told them?
Mines is definitely either Steelix or Dragalge.
Magnezone or maybe tentacruel? I like them both a lot. Not sure if they’re unexpected.
I’d say that I feel Tentacool is unexpected from you, but I haven’t been here that frequently or that long so I’m not sure

Yeah, but seeing as a lot of them probably get leaks due to their careers it’s probably less fear of a criminal record and more of the threat of a loss of a job/demotion/losing favour with the boss and colleagues/etc.
And, to them, that’s just as bad as criminal charges
It is. Japan relatively recently issued a law that makes leaking or distributing this kind of media before it’s actual release date illegal. It’s dumb, but also makes sense as there needs to be some way to keep this from happening. (not that it really does lol)

So far my favorite Alolan forms is Sandshrew, Sandslash, and Marowak. I starting to warm up to Vuplix, Ninetales, maybe Meowth and Raichu.
Like them all, especially Raichu and Ninetales. I also really like Sandslash’s design, but that typing is going to be really bad

With the grid gone, how well egg hatching work? Would it be time instead of step-based? Or can it still work the same way without a grid?
You can still calculate steps without a grid
You can still count steps without a grid, but I like the grid system because it’s a nod to the good old days of sprites and it’s easier to control the character for bits where you have to be careful.
Probably actual animated steps?
Probably tracks the amount of distance the player has travelled and compares the previous value with the current value and every time the floored value increments, they do a step tick.

Almost certainly the first, they’re the totems of Melemele.

Because A) Grimer is hideous, B) we’ve been waiting hours for more info, C) we’ve only got their word for the other pokemon and D) pretty much everything but the Grimer in that scan is recycled.

I think the image in the corocoro scan is a new drawing, which doesn’t really prove anything either way. Notably the eyes are very close together though.
Also I hope Jangamo-o’s evolution is shown soon! I need to know if I’m going to have to replace Pikipek with it
Just show Type: Null evolution and Jangmo-o evolution until more info is released Friday… I’ll be fine with that. It also looks like they’ll discuss Alolan Persian with the Meowth standing next to Grimer.

It wasn’t confirmed that Alolan Pikachu doesn’t exist. We just saw an ordinary Pikachu evolving into Alolan Raichu.

It really depends on who is leaking. This person doesn’t want to risk legal action is all it is. Past leakers typically throw caution to the wind, but this time the leaker seems to be more worried. Very understandable if you ask me.

It’s not like there’s a team or anything. It’s just whomever ends up getting a copy early. A person might get a copy early one month, but not be able to the next

Well yeah it’s possible someone else might come along and post stuff, but who knows at this point. Again it’s illegal in Japan to post these kinds of leaks so it’s perfectly understandable for people to not want to stick their necks out for info coming only a few days later.
They just need to make sure it’s nice and anonymous. If they used TOR and transferred it via the dark net they’d be more secure.

It’s not really worth it, most of the video is them blabbing on endlessly about the expected stuff. They could have just written a summary that could have been read in about 2-3 minutes. They don’t really reveal anything new.
So I’m reading this one article about the preview and it sounds like Kukui challenged the indigo league at one point while he was researching Pokemon moves hahaha

The player’s mother came from a different region, hence so did the Meowth.
As it stands, there’s no reason to suspect that Starmie is from another region here, especially since it’s seen next to Corsola, a Pokemon we know is definitely available in the region.
But we can’t definitively say it isn’t from a different region. Lusamine said she wants to help Pokemon all over the world, so it’s completely reasonable to have Pokemon from other regions in the AF. Do I believe this to be the case? No. But it’s a point to consider if you’re going to make assumptions like the one you made.
No, but we can say what’s more likely. Based on what’s been seen. So far apart from Meowth, we’ve never had a Pokemon seen in game later get an alolan form. And the exceptional case of Meowth is explainable given that only one is ever seen, it’s owned by the player’s mother and it’s stated to come from another region.
For another thing concept art showed regular Staryu on the side of the large white hotel/embassy.
Assuming they’re deceiving us and Starmie has an alolan form is much more of a cognitive leap and has much less supporting evidence.
