[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

 NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

  1. If Silvadi’s new attack, Multi-Attack changes type depending on the held item then I’m pretty sure Memory is the held item and it’s actually 18 items.

    • I’m actually imagining a single held item. Seeing as Silvadi is designed to take on legendary Pokémon I see AR System working like a defensive protean. Either changing its type to the same as the attacking move or to a type random type super effective against the attacking type. This changing Multi-Attack’s type accordingly

    • From the look of one of the scans, Kiawe’s go-to pokemon is Turtunator, Lana’s is Popplio, Lillie’s is Rowlett and Sophocles’ is Togedemaru, so maybe Ash picks Litten. It’s been a loooong time since he initially chose a fire starter.

        • Idk why people say or do this all the time like other pseudolegendaries don’t have 4x weaknesses? Dragonite, Salamence, and Garchomp are all 4x weak to ice. And Hydreigon is already 4x weak to Fairy. And yet they are all still extreme powerful and useful Pokémon. The only fairy any of them would truly have trouble with is Mega Gardevoir

        • It will probably have some Steel and Poison type moves, it just needs the stats to back it up. Also it will likely have Dragon Dance which it can use with a bit of switch prediction to hopefully outspeed and outpower like many Dragons do.

    • Me too it’s my favorite poison type I like poison type in general ……but I can’t determine if I should treat it as a male or female.

      • It’s one of those pkm for which the gender doesn’t really matter in my opinion (I still prefer getting a male one though). I’m thinking about getting a dual-type dragon/xx team for the third time I play S&M. I’d get Jararanga, Dragalge, Kingdra, Noivern

      • You do realise most pokémon are like animals with two sexes right? Do you classify “bear” and “cat” as male or female? Not trying to make a controversy here, I can see why some might prefer their gardevoir’s female and their machamp’s male, but how the hell does it make sense to arbitrarily assign each and every pokémon to one of it’s sexes???

          • Sorry, as I said I’m legit not trying to cause a debate here, I don’t care about Popplio3 or any of that. I’m just dumbfounded at such a necessity to compulsively and illogically label everything. In any case that’s just my view, Shady can do whatever he sees fit 🙂

          • It’s human nature, we tend to associate certain traits to a gender. Females are usually cuter, have more grace, etc, while males are stronger, ferocious etc. Of course that’s not entirely true but I see why people would rather have a male machoke or a female gardevoir. Pokemon are seen as animals but many of them have “human” traits + in the anime whenever they wanna let u know a pokemon is female (like eevee) they will make it more girly.

        • actually I do …..I can classify many animal Like big cats (specially tiger),cats ,birds…etc.

          And pkmn r not animal they have more character like a human ….so some pkmn have feminine looks and the other have masculine one so I prefer the female version if the pkmn looks feminine to feel comfortable while I am playing.

          • I find this completely illogical and unnecessary when applied to animals, but you do make a little more sense when applying it to pokémon, and in any case it’s not my place to tell you how to see the world, so fair enough.

          • Y r u infuriated ?…..I told I really can realize animal gender just by looking (not the classic method) at their appearance ….yeah it’s not ur place at the first place.

          • People get triggered when you say things they don’t agree with about “sensitive” topics like gender and sex and all of that bullshit

          • Yeah that’s definitely a thing that happens a lot, and that often happens here, but incidentally I’m not one of those people who feels the need to argue about these topics or who tends to get “triggered”.

            If I was “triggered” (haha), it was by my perceived lack of logic in his approach, not because of gender politics.
            In my head it wasnt “U WOT M8 DID U JUST ASSUME GENDER”, it was “u wot m8 reducing your view of a dioecious species to a single sex is ridick”.
            I’m a biologist, not an SJW :p

          • Actually I misunderstood the first part of your response (honestly no offence meant but your english doesn’t help), I think it’s cool that you can identify them. I thought you meant you classified loads of animals like tigers as either male or female, which as you’ll probably agree makes no sense.
            As I said it makes some sense when applied to pokémon, it’s just that it only really makes sense to me when you’re actually playing the game and choosing to catch a certain pokémon as a male or female, rather than automatically assigning a sex to a whole pokémon species, because that’s not how it is in the pokémon world.

            Also I’m not infuriated at all dude, don’t know if that’s what my tone suggests but it can be hard to express tone when you’re trying to put emphasis on things and express confusion.

          • I didn’t know y sexism is very sensitive subject in a free country like America ? and how talking about pkmns gender could count sexism ?….Y pl like to live this drama ?…….I think we shouldn’t focusing in our problem that much but solution.

        • In the anime, it always really bothered me that Ash and co. would call their Pokemon “it” rather than “he” or “she” (aside from Magnemites and Ditto and legendaries, of course). Ask Nurse Joy to check if it has a dong or not. It’s a living creature, not a chair.
          EDIT: The first few seasons at least. I’m not completely caught up.

    • Wow it’s sick!
      I’m just not a fan of the voice it has, do they really need to make it sound edgy and human like mewtwo (which works fine for mewtwo IMO)? It’s a damn metal bug, not a man in a super-sentai suit, even if it’s mega evo looks like one… How are these generic grunts cooler than something somewhere between insect noises and android sounds?
      Tbh they already messed up chandelure’s voice, so this is nothing new.

      • That’s kind of an oversimplification (He was one of the discoverers of natural selection, there were previous concepts of evolution but indeed his work on evolution laid the groundwork for modern evolutionary theory), but the idea people wouldn’t know the man who’s arguably not just the father of modern evolutionary theory but the father of modern biology makes me sad.

  20. Ilima is most likely the Normal Captain, Idk why they would show Totem,Gumshoos in the same page as Him/Her. People are like debating what Type Ilima specializes

    • I also thought normal. I hope he/she is not a bug trainer. I’m bored of early bug leaders so i really hope the first trial captain isn’t bug.

    • Seems obvious to me Illima is the normal captain, that’s what most evidence is pointing to so it’s the surest assumption to make
