[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

Scans

Translations

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

  1. I actually like Jararanga a lot and see what they were going for. I still don’t know what my team will look like but I’ve already chosen 3 pkm for sure: Popplio 3, Salandit2, Jararanga.

  2. I dont understand, Type nulls helmet is clearly made by humans, does that mean the helmet can de-evolve it or what !?

  3. Guys I’ve been doing teams for the 20th anniversary with every starter (2 for Samurott due to already having a Samurott team before hand and 2 for Kanto Starters due to having them on my Kalos Starter teams as well) and I’ve decided to do the Elemental Monkeys as well since they’re practically pseudo starters (and I just want an excuse to play White more ‘w’). Which one should I do first?

      • We might have to wait until the game is out, to find out…

It could even be part of the postgame.

How about this: Gladion’s Type:Null might join us before the story is over, but later we will have a sub quest where we explore the destroyed Type:Null labs (we are required to bring Type:Null or Shiruvadi) and learn the potentially sad backstory…

      • As for how it was created in believe it is the startersame and maybe rockruff fused together. I believe it was this before it was type:null. They merely gave it the helmet to suppress it’s power and make it more controllable.

  4. At first sight I didn´t quite like Jararanga, but it kinda grew on me! The typing is unique and its posture is super badas.
Plus I am positively surprised by Shiruvadi; I thought Type:Null was quite ugly (interesting concept, but meh), but the evolution looks super powerful!

  5. “Shiru itself is a Japanese verb, meaning something like “to know”, so perhaps that part implies its all knowing, or at least its very intelligent.” -Myself a few days ago

Type Null uses an item called Memory. GG Game Freak. GG.

        • It’s design is very reminiscent of Arceus. It’s helmet having the same ring design thing that is around arceus.
It was created to be the most powerful Pokémon and to take on legendaries.
And if you consider the very apparent and obvious alchemy theme of these games and alchemists ultimate goal to recreate the power of God or recreate God himself them the comparison becomes almost impossible to deny.

  6. I wonder if Type: Null will evolve via friendship, Refresh, or something else.

I think Jangmo-o lost its spot on my team despite its unique typing.

  7. I love Type: Null’s evo, but it should have been a Forme Change.
I also really like Jangmo-o’s evos, but they should have been Dragon/Steel rather than Dragon/Fighting

  8. Well, it looks like Jangmo-o is the first to be removed from my team. I try to love all Pokemon, but its evolutions are horrendous.

  9. With Jararanga being part Fighting, Bug is now the only type not associated with Dragon, course Grass and Fairy deserves a non-Mega line but at least exist.

  10. Have you noticed that corocoro revealed the starters evolutions but did not mention the famous secret they hide anymore? I think we were all super trolled.

      • Which is very similair to Genesect.
Genesect was a Pokemon Revived and Altered by an Evil Team to be powerful,
Mewtwo was a Pokemon Cloned to be powerful, in some canon by Rocket
Type:Null is a Pokemon created to be as Powerful as Legendary Pokemon, Presumably by an evil team with inspiration from Arceus.

Shiruvadi’s Ability plus the Memory item also seems cross between Arceus Plates, and Genesects Drives
