[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

Scans

Translations

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

  1. Jangmo-o’s line looks great! I can’t wait to use it in the games! Although they did became bipedal, the final evolution is hunched over enough, that it kinda doesn’t look bipedal. I’m very happy overall with these designs! The more I look at them, the more excited I get for evolutions of other Pokemon for this generation.

  2. Is this the text next to Silvadi? “When this new (新) Pokemon unleashes its true (真) strength, a new strongest god (神) is born.”

    Nice wordplay if so.

  3. i really love goodra. i love how it has an amazing sp.def stat, great hp to make use of that sp.def stat, and sp. atk to hit things back fairly hard. mine held assault vest too. ate sp. attacks for days. it was on the team with one of my favorite megas and pivots, Mega Manectric. that intimidate support and a pokemon on the team with access to will-o-wisp and scald made goodra an insurmountable wall.
That being said, i hope Jararanga is the opposite. great physical bulk and an Atk stat to allow it to strike fairly hard. physical goodra if you will. give him the assault vest in a similar fashion… heck, i hope it gets intimidate, though something to help take fairy attack would be nice. really looking forward to Jararanga.

      • yes, that’s definitely an option I’m considering, though i will miss the assault vest. i kinda hope they give us a DEF boosting assault variant, and a new ability:
Distraction: Lowers the opponents pokemon’s sp. atk by one stage upon switching in.

  4. Oooooh my god. I really didn’t feel like it needed to happen, but that Type: Null evolution is fucking amazing!!! I also feel like Jararanga will grow on me. Right now I’m just disappointed it’s not Dragon/Steel or quadruple. Ilima looks cool as well. Definitely a Normal-type, but now that I think of it’s that’s actually already confirmed by Gumshoos and Raticate.

  5. Three things on the anime: 1.The concept of Shiruvadi’s evolution screams Ash to me. Like he saves a Type: Null that has been abused, it learns to trust him and breaks its helmet for him. 2. Looks like this anime has Ash only getting one starter again, which I’m ok with, I want to see what his other four or more pokemon will be. 3. Serebii’s Joe Merrick reported that the anime is supposedly trying to be “a laugh a minute”… That concerns me.

      • Ok there’s a difference between something having comedy mixed in-between everything and making something a straight-up comedy. This seems like the latter.

          • Well, and I completely mean this, I hope you enjoy it. I hope this series finds an audience, I just personally feel like it’s not going to appeal to me. I feel like that pic of Ash falling through his desk says it all… Though I love the look on his Rowlet’s face, I’ll probably watch it if his Rowlet’s like the straightman

          • Thanks, though I probably won’t get to watch the Pokemon Anime either way. I’m too busy catching up with other shows right now. 🙂

      • Oh I beg to differ lol. I feel like the wound from the Alain vs Ash thing is still a bit fresh that it’s forgotten that XYZ was a decent anime. I mean, at least he didn’t take on a Hydreigon with an Oshawott in the league like in Unova.

        • the thing is though, is that the structure is always the same. its always “meet forgettable character of the day, filler, end episode” rinse and repeat until a gym battle or the league. always. i was misled by a fan on this website “oh its not i promis XYZ is different” ok i said, i’ll give it a shot. the VERY FIRST episode was filler. and so were the next couple. i gave up again.

          • Well when you put it that way, I can’t blame you lol. It’s just that this anime seems like a series entirely composed of those lame summer camp arcs. I hated those, I felt like it dumbed/slowed everything down for no reason other than stakes that didn’t matter outside of the arc (Being the top summer camp team or whatever). So it seems like, at this point, a mix of Orange Islands and the Summer Camp Arcs.

          • but see this is what makes me hopeful: being confined to one area with a select cast gives us time to watch them grow as characters. I’m not sure if anyone here has seen “Yu-gi-oh” but the second series, yugioh GX, was always my favorite for this very reason. its kinda hard to explain…

          • No I completely get it, I love GX and you make a good point. However, even though GX was a lighter series (at first), it didn’t make the point that it was going to be straight-up comedic. After your argument, I’d probably sit down and shut up if the only thing we knew about it was that he’s going to school. However, they’re also trying to make it a point that they want “a laugh a minute” which tells me there’s prooooobably not going to be much room for character development… MAYBE, we’ll see when the Ultrabeasts arrive. When a show tries to make a comedy that’s set in a school, it’s usually not all that deep, it’s more about their day-to-day lives. Learn something one day, go through things that test that lesson, lesson learned at the end of the episode, happy ending, laughs and good feels all around, rinse and repeat.

      • Jararanga’s monk staff-like tail, we had a pic of it next to Jangmo-o. There’s no confusion here, this person knows stuff.
Now as for the types leak, it’s either a lie, just predictions, or hopefully they didn’t know about silvadi and thus Type:Null is listed as single. It’s annoying that’s still up in the air.

        • True, maybe Jararanga will be featured in the trailer tomorrow. Maybe the Riddler only knows the pokemon that are featured in the trailers.

  6. Now THOSE are my type of Dragons
It actually pleases me to say
    Beltigre
    Lycanroc
    Mudsdale
    Jararanga

And if this Silvadi thing is basically any type I wonde how hard it would be to get it to be Ground because then I can use it for my Ground Moon Mono

  7. Shiruvadi translates into “pondering its own
existence as an imperfect being” this confirms some things that have been speculated.

      • Care to source that? I couldn’t find anything on their twitter, nor do I recall them saying that in their video. Not doubting you, I’m just curious.

        • I think it was some other journalistic source that tested the game that said that, can’t remember which one, not gamexplain though.
However this has not been backed up by anyone other review so either it’s under embargo, or, more likely, they got highly confused. 7 doesn’t seem to be a very logical number, and the five captains we know now, 3 seem to be on Akala, which is a weird imbalance. Can you really imagine two islands (or even one island!) with literally one captain and one kahuna? It’s completely senseless!

          • Actually thinking on it now, they might have meant that they know for certain that their are 7 trial captains, as our electric, electra loving trial captain might have been confirmed to be on Akala island.
