[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

Scans

Translations

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

  1. So they kind of went with chainmail instead of griffin. It’s fine. I just want a griffin. The final evo is a bit overdesigned when compared to other dragons like dragonite but hey- I’m not gonna complain about that cool typing.

  2. These games are truly shaping up to be phenomenal. Not one thing thus far has let me down about the upcoming titles, and I’m more than excited to try them out for myself in a month’s time.

  3. I’m glad people seem to be liking the evolutions. I really don’t. Jangamo-O seems very over designed (and not a griffin) and I don’t see the appeal in Type: Null’s evolution. Especially since the original form seemed fine and mysterious on its own

    • While it doesn’t look very different regarding the rest of the body, Type:Null’s evo looks much better to me without the helmet. But feels more like a form change than an actual evolution.

    • I felt that a some point the mask had to come off as it was restraining it’s power. Would you have rather it be a former change than an evolution?

    • Meh, I was never a fan of Type: Null. That and Ultrabeasts are the only things I’m not really looking forward to in the upcoming games. However, I do like that its evo has access to all types.

  4. I was very skeptical about Jangmo-o’s final evolution at first, it’s design seemed too over exaggerated, but it’s starting to grow on me. I love the mid form though!

  5. jararanga is a total BAMF. I may use it. I don’t normally like using pokemon that share a type, but I tell myself every gen that I will use the pseudo legend, but I never do. I regret not using goodra so badly last gen, I love goodra its my favorite dragon type pokemon.

  6. Ugh, really not feeling that jangmo line. Unique typing is cool, but that is not what I was hoping for at all. Now I have to weigh my options and decide whether or not to keep it on my team.

        • I mean, I guess, but this one is supposedly the pseudo this gen and I wanted to try it, since I actually never use those. Only time I ever did was a dragonite in HGSS.

          • Drg/Stl does great balance for the team i want
            -pop3 (wtr/fry) [supposedly]
            -comfey (fry)
            -vikavolt (bug/elc)
            -oricorio (gst/fly)
            -salandit (psn/fir)

drg/stl really covers everything except gst, which only one is weak to

          • yeah, i expect to get into that meta stuff once I know more, but I need defensive pivots and nothing beats a steel type in that regard.

          • Well, I always use the same team for online battles. My XY team was a triple battle threat that had multiple strategies to fall back on. Like my greninja who I played mind games with instead of using as an offensive attacker.

So that’s why I care so much, plus then there’s the battle tower or whatever. Hm, I gotta mull a few things over.

          • We really really needed a damn Fairy pseudo last gen to show Gamefreak were comitted to bringing down Dragon a peg. But no, more Dragon type pseudo legends. I either hope there is more than one this gen as well of Jangmo-o is the pseudo or if it isn’t I hope its Fairy/Grass/Poison/Bug/Ice type.

  7. Jararanga needs the ability mutli scale, because the x4 weakness to fairy can put it in the UU tier especially if it is a slow pokemon

  8. Glad Jangmo-o is staying on my planned team. Very tired now. I can only hope Alolan Muk is better than Grimer. I currently nothing Shiruvadi, maybe that’ll change when I look at it again after some sleeps. Fridays news will hopefully have something else in store.
