[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

Scans

Translations

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

  1. Speaking of Kanto.
In the JP trailers the boy travels from Japan to Hawaii.
The player in the game travels from Kanto to Alola.
In the second trailer he travels back to Japan from Hawaii.
Do we travel back to Kanto? O.o

  2. OMG, why didn’t I think of it before!?

Alolan Polygon is Psychic type because it became self aware and is now a rogue AI XD

(Sorry, I’ve had too much Koffee)

  3. Just thinking – Alola might be a play on words for Aurora – especially since “Arora” and “Orora” (Japanese pronunciations for Alola and Aurora) are so similar.

Since Auroras are mixes of color – maybe this is the “Pokemon Rainbow” we were all expecting :))

  4. I wonder what the shiny versions of alola pokemon will look like – seeing as charizards shiny was like a bluish grey black, and grimer’s is sort of the same greyish color, shiny alolan grimer might be red hahah (probs not going to happen, but this might be a more accepted look because of all the magma hypotheses)

    • Compensation for no dark types probably. It’s kinda starting to look like overcompensation. And because they’re total geniuses they seem to have missed out on making the most obvious “should have been a dark type” line dark type (the zubat line, I mean come on, if dark had been a thing in gen I they would have definitely been dark/flying). At least I’m gonna assume that until I see proof of the contrary haha.

      • I’ve never been able to fully complete any battle facility, and so I wanted the first time accomplishing that to be in my favorite region. Yeah it’s a clone of the one in Kalos, but it’s still on my OR file.

      • I used Dragonite, Azumarill, Mega Kahn, and because I didn’t have Thundurus yet (Still need to shiny hunt that one xD), I used Vaporeon as a Wish passer to keep Dragonite and Azumarill happy. My biggest challenge came at 48, when I had to fight the dreaded Sheer Cold/Fissure Walrein ;~; I was so relieved it missed every one!! xD

        • Niiice! I buy my more competitive Pokémon from PerfectPokémon so all Pokes are available to me xD

But that’s really cool. Luckily I never really had to deal with OHKO moves much. I vaguely remember someone trying to use one of those moves but I think it missed and then I beat them. Lol

          • I’ve never heard of that 😮 I breed everyone thanks to a 6 IV Ditto I got here back when XY released xD (Really glad we can finally increase IVs in Sun and Moon).

Lucky haha xD I had a run in Super Singles in my Y game, and one of my various Rotation runs end thanks to that Walrein xD I saw it and was like Oh…no…not on this run, not when I’m so close!!

  6. I’m saying it one last time and then giving up.
Pokemon used by Team Rocket (excluding Giovani) in pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow:

    • Eh, I’m not really accepting it, I’m counting is an an unsure, which is something I haven’t done for previous scans. So that’s like half a fool, not a complete fool.

      • Thanks, I wanted something small and cute, but something that still looked like it had great potential or could be a threat in its own right.

    • I like that you went Fire/Ghost instead of Ground/Ghost or Dark/Ghost. Stage 2 creeps me out. Stage 3 should have a Fire Moustache.
Did you hear they are making a live action Disney Aladdin? Don’t know how they’ll do without Robin Williams.

      Reply
      • Tbh the only Fire/Ghost at the moment is Chandelure and it’s very inorganic, so I wanted to so something new and more organic, and I realised they’ve never really had a Djinn in the traditional sense of a firey being. I looked at lore and other art before settling on this, I think the Disney version has corrupted what they’re actually supposed to be, but it’s recognisable, so I went with it.

Yeah, such a tragic end to a brilliant life.
It just goes to show, no matter how successful, how talented or how kind spirited you truly are, depression is a parasite that eats away at you, fills your head with insecurity and whispers dark thoughts in your ear.

        • Yeah, I do like Chandelure, but there’s definitely room for another Fire/Ghost. I think there are a few evil Genie moments in Aladdin that show Djinn closer to the lore.
I suffer from Depression myself, so I know all too well. He also had a severe form of Parkinsons which was the main reason he chose to ‘leave’, before he became unrecognisable as himself. At least that’s what his wife has recently said.

          • Yeah, it’s not fair that only one line should get all the fun 😛

There are times he gets angry, but I don’t know if he was ever ‘evil’ at any point. I can’t remember it much though tbh.

I suspect I suffer from it, but I’ve never attempted to get it confirmed, my negative thoughts might just be part of my personality, it’s hard to say.

Regardless of that though, it was one of the topics I studied when I did psychology for 1 1/2 years, so I know a lot about the ins and outs of it, like what SSRIs do, why they prescribe them, the criteria etc.

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. That was probably the vector for the transition. And in a way that makes it a little bit better, because he actually had a good irrefutable reason to decide to leave the world.

          • There is evil Genie at the end but it’s not him.

I feel that too, it’s still sad that he’s gone but I fully understand his most difficult of decisions.
