Translations:
- NEW Rockruff’s evolution’s forms are version exclusive
- NEW Day Rugarugan’s signature move is called Accelerock (or Accel Rock) which is a priority move described as “a flashing strike”
- NEW Night Rugarugan’s signature move is Counter which is glamorized with the flavor text “a fierce strikeback”
- NEW It seems these are not simple day/night evolutions but are a reflection of the powers that reside in Alola; Solgaleo in Pokémon Sun (Midday form) and Lunaala in Pokémon Moon (Midnight form)
- Rockruff’s evolution is called Rugarugan (ルガルガン). CoroCoro is very vague on Rugarugan, though it appears that it may change form during day and night, and it is not simply a split evolution.
- Two new Ultra Beasts are revealed, UB02 Beauty (shown in Pokémon Moon) and UB02 Expansion (shown in Pokémon Sun)
- The new anime series is called Pokemon: Sun & Moon and will start in November. Since there is no league in the Alola Region Ash’s goal in this season will be to graduate from school.
- Next month’s issue will reveal the true strength of Type: Null

You’re assuming a different definition than the widely used definition of school and graduate. You’re only proof is the past anime’ plot, which sun and moon (game wise) seem to be throwing tradition out the window.

No you’re good. It really is up to interpretation at this point. In any case I’d say my reading of it makes more sense than him actually going to school. Seeing as there isn’t a school kind of motif in the games that we know of (even in Sun and Moon). it makes more sense that the words “school” and “graduate” not be taken literally. lol
What about trying to be a Pokemon master? Isn’t there going to be an elite 4/ champion equivalent in Alola ? It would feel incomplete otherwise. There needs to be a plot or else he won’t be able to progress !

So I haven’t watched the newer anime, but my biggest take away from the anime page is that Ash will get the Rotomdex. I was wondering if they were just gonna give him a regular pokedex for the show. I think that’s going to add a really cool dynamic to the show. It’ll be his first electric that’s not pikachu, although I doubt he’ll ever battle with it.
Things I take away from it are, apart from Rotomdex:
1) Mallow will travel with him
2) He will have a Rowlett
3) Lillie might also travel with him
Those are the 3 things I’m certain about, the rest of these are just ideas:
4) Like Gen 1,2 and 5 he’ll have all 3 starters,
5) He’s sent by Oak to meet Oak, the 2 Oak have the greatest scene in the history of the anime
6) Team rocket have a Bewear?
As would then have Litten later on in which would then evolve.
I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t have a male companion. I feel Lillie could have a similar appearance rate as Bianca did in BW, where they saw her a lot but didn’t fully travel with her. And then when the actual plot picks up she’ll be around more.
I think they may get Bewear as well, although this one looks massively out of scale.
I’d have said a Male one too, though theres no hint in the Poster, if there was a male one he’d be on the poster right? unless, Is it possible Kukui is? I wouldn’t say that’s impossible.

Hmm, I’m kinda wishing that they never revealed the ultra beasts. With the internet as it is, we’ll probably know all about them before release;,not to mention, there’s already PLENTY that has been shown that will sell the game. They should just focus on promoting mechanics and Pokemon, preferably like Talonflame with that last part, wherein they skip mid forms and leave those a surprise as well.
All you’d really need to do to keep interest is release game play footage that shows the mechanics and pokemon in action. Save the plot for when we get the game. I really want to avoid an ORAS situation where, despite the demo getting mined, GF basically revealed everything that was in those games anyway, leaving no surprises.
Then don’t visit Pokémon sites and unlike/unfollow Pokémon stuff on social media. Not all of us need to be surprised in order to enjoy playing the games. I like knowing as much as possible because I plan my teams before the playthrough.
That’s different from revealing the plot though. I too like to know what’s at my disposal for making a team, but that doesn’t mean I want to just sit in the dark and wait for 60+ days with no info or content to look at. Many other games do this, show off random game play that doesn’t involve the plot just so players have something to look at while they wait.

That’s easier said than done and large speculations can easily be made just by looking at them. People are already saying the new feminine one looks like the leader of Aether, while before that, the UB-01 was instantly compared to be Lillie. I dunno, that kinda stuff shouldn’t be shown pre release in my opinion. I’d rather they stop being so vague about stuff like pokeride, island challenge and non legendary pokemon
While they may resemble them though, that doesn’t really tell us anything about the characters themselves. I would like more info on past stuff though like pokeride, but maybe it’s best if they stay vague and just reveal pokemon from here on out
I mean, personally, I’d prefer they pick the non plot stuff and completely explore it rather than picking everything in the game and only briefly mentioning it. Distract us with the new advancements of the series and explain how they work rather than being like, “so here’s this huge thing…see you in november!”
I dunno, seeing UB-01 was fine enough I guess, but now they’re showing more, which is just gonna give everything away. It’s not like a movie where the plot is the only thing to talk about. Addition trailers that give every thing away can simply be avoided since you’re only here just to see the story play out. With a game, you want to know more about everything else too and I think the plot should be kept quieter since we’ll be spending more time utilizing the mechanics and pokemon rather than dealing with the story.

The bigger question is does the Day version have a secondary type?
I think the day version will be pure rock. However, if it’s just a form change, both will probably be rock/dark unless it gains a secondary typing at night? Also, if it’s a form change based on day time, how is that going to work in online battles?
I’d assume that would be based on the game version and the clock, for example if you do an online battle at night and use Shaymin, you can’t use Sky Form.
That’s a good point. Might be kind of annoying if you want to use the day form at night though. I’m hoping they’re split evos
I’d assume it is a Split evo, but the 2 Pokemon share the same dex space, and it looks like one or the other depending on the time of day.
An easier example is, Meowstic. It looks different depending on it’s Gender, but goes further than that, as they have different abilities and movesets, despite being the same Pokemon. This is basically an evolution of that idea, just instead of gender it’s Time of day, and Type is different too, but they’re still the same Pokemon.

Apart from Crystal, which Gold and Silver were marketed as GBC tbh despite being GB games,they tend to do full Gen on one console, even if theres already a new one out, Like B2/W2.
Perhaps knowing Game Freak, they would might do a change in system this time around.
After all, you can’t have two versions of Diamond and Pearl on the same console now, especially when the 3DS is backwards compatable with DS games. I mean just look at what happened with Twilight Princess for the Wii U. Yes it was a port from the Gamecube, but it’s Wii version can certainly play on the Wii U.

The reason is Compatibility reasons however, though they can find a way past that.
and anyway, unlike Gold and Silver in which can be plaued on normal Gameboy, Crystal was made specifically for the Gameboy Color system.
It was, while Gold and Silver were GBC enhanced, the difference being they could still trade with Crystal.
Which is why I said they can find a way around it if they try, for example, I don’t expect Pokemon Bank to be exclusive to the 3DS in the future. That could be the way forward.
it would be easy to see pokemon in Sun and Moon on the 3DS trading with the remake of Diamond and Pearl on NX. Even more so when using Bank.

Unless they’re part of a new gen I don’t think they’d split a gen up by console. If gen 7 has more than one set of games they’ll likely be on the 3DS. that is if they do things the way they have in the past.Supposedly there’s a rumor that a Pokemon game made by GF is in the works for the NX. I don’t think they’d do a remake for their first game on a new system though.
As much as I love me some SINNOH CONFIRMED, I think it’s too soon to make those games. If they did, then at that rate gen 5 would be remade along with gen 8 and you can’t just remake gen 5 as is without consideration towards BW2. Then we’d have gen 6 remakes during gen 9…and then a gen 7 remake during gen 10.
You know what, that’s fine. The remakes are always better anyway. From now on I’ll just wait for those to come out and skip the actual games, haha .
a remake to a pokemon game is not by calculations in halfs, it’s more of their 10 year anniversaries. if it reaches 20 like red, blue and yellow, it’ll be on the eshop
I had several ideas for how they’d handle Gen 5 remakes.
1) 2 sets of Remakes (Which is the best option, and can spread it out)
2) 1 Set of remakes with both stories
3) The OR/AS treatment, the first Gets a remake with a shorter story based in B2/W2 (With the PWT hopefully intact)
Theory for the ultra beast. I think they might come from a parallel dimension(aka dim-B) and in their dimension each one has a counterpart for every person in our dimension (dim-A). So that’s why they represent core aspects of their counterparts for example UB-01 is lillie UB-02 will either be Gladion or Lusamine counterparts.
UB-02 Beauty resembles Lusamine, it has her stance and big hair like she does. I feel Expansion on the other hand maybe not Gladion but I’m guessing its going to be a character we’ve not seen yet.

And at that point you might as well have just brought him back to continue to travel with Ash. Plus I really like Clemont so them replacing him with Sophocles would be a bummer to me lol

Based on what we’ve seen there will be more than one per island. All of the ones we’ve seen have been shown more or less on the island to the right of Melemele which is known as Akala. Sophocles is the only one we don’t have solid evidence as far as where he is, but many believe he is located at the light house on Akala. Plus it’s been implied that there are more captains than we’ve met so that would imply that there’s have to be more than one per island.
But still, where did you find this info?

instead of an abusive trainer, what about a oblivious negligent trainer,
i see a prissy young trainer wanting a litten as a status thing but the litten is too hot blooded and rough to handle so she barely lets it do anything and stops it from battling and have it do nothing all day, then Ash tries to convince that some Pokemon LIKE to battle yadda yadda pawns it off on him
Also an interesting character development is that Litten evolves into its final form and is a total thug picking fights with everyone and using extremely cheap tactics

Heatigre in a sense compulsively picks fights with every pokemon which is bad, and to make matters worse it uses very cheap moves like spitting embers in their face and just being a total menace

I’m still not sure they’re technically the same. Maybe in code names for sure, but I could see the exclusiveness of them be more story wise than them actually being the same thing. They might fulfill the same role in the games more or less, but ultimately are different in the end.
Ok so something occurred to me only after I jumped into the shower and started doing my shower thinking lol The announcement on Wednesday is the 14th right? Even in Japan it’ll be the 14th which means that no matter what the announcement will be before CoroCoro officially gets released. I highly doubt they’d release a trailer showing off the Pokemon from CoroCoro BEFORE the magazine comes out.. It would basically make them being in CoroCoro meaningless and hurt whatever deal TPC has with CoroCoro for exclusive news. So that means whatever we get on Wednesday will be brand new! We likely won’t see and official trailer of Rockruffs evo or the UB until later in the month or super early next month.

Magazines do that all the time. It has no baring on the news that’s in it. The news we get in this issue is meant for this month. Just because it’s the October issue doesn’t mean it’s suppose to be news for next month. CoroCoro just seems to have some exclusive Pokemon that take a little longer to get an official reveal. Sandygast and Palosand were shown in August CoroCoro and didn’t get an immediate trailer until later in the month.

No……the magazine leaked on the 9th and the it actually came out on the 12th. The trailer coming out on the 11th was simply due to time zones. It was already the 12th in Japan by that point.

Well the point is CoroCoro has been having exclusive every month this time around. Examples being Rockruff/Komala,Bewera/Mimikyu,Sandygast/Palosand/Stufful. All of which didn’t get a trailer immediately. I’d be surprised if they intentionally screwed CoroCoro over. The point of the exclusives is to drive CoroCoro sales.

That’s what I’m thinking. CoroCoro gets Rockruff and the trailer they give us shows the starters. That way they cover both sides of whatever the possible “secret” between them is without taking away exclusives. Two side of the same coin so to speak lol
