The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel has just updated with a trailer for a series of animated shorts known as Pokémon Generations.
The animated series will revisit each Pokémon Generation of the video game series and shed new light on some “timeless” moments. The 18 bite-sized episodes (around 3 to 5 minutes long) will be released weekly from September 16th until December 23rd, 2016.

Origins was a huge succes, mainly because the tone was more mature and darker and appealed to the older audience.

18 episodes each one is 3-5 minutes and cover ALL gens I dont think this is a good idea at all, the reason why Origin wasnt as great as everyone expected was because it was too rushed, this doesnt seem to be better…

because it was the first time we see Red in a badass pokemon anime, but that doesnt change the fact that they rushed the story and as an anime it wasnt very good
for what it was origins wasnt that rushed, it did the core elements which made it work
the battles where so rushed
but remember they were trying to tell the story more. the actual anime has the time to do make battles last longest then a couple of mintues while this was just a short mini series and also they had to reveal charizard X
all they wanted to do was to make charizard mega evolve, they only showd the parts with charizard in it, there wasnt much character development or any build up, we just happen to know all the characters well.

At first I found it a little odd that it’s Red in Kalos instead of the Player character.
But then I remembered in Origins he had Mega Charizard, so it wouldn’t seem like a stretch to assume this is the same world and the Red parts are what happened after, and he went to find out what mega evolution was, specially when a couple of bits in the trailer seem to be from Origins.
What I find interesting is that Zygarde 100% is in it, and obviously in Terminus Cave, as shown where Noivern is chasing Red.
I wonder if this, like Origins, will reveal anything new…

I think the will revel something new at the end like megaZard X in the origin.
What I mean is, with 6 generations and only 18 eps, you’ll get around 15 minutes per region. What are you going to be able to showcase in such a short amount of time.
Specially Gen 5 which has a lot compared to say Gen 1
And with all of this gen 1 pandering,it’s safe to assume that the gen with the least amount of things to show will get the most time
May be so if they use Red in each region, as we’ve seen him in Kalos

Skill link im pretty sure is mincinnos hidden ability, so unless you can trade, don’t use it. You do get a skill link mincinno in b2w2 though.

So I don’t understand my brain sometimes but as you know I constantly churn out ideas for fakemon and for some ungodly reason I came up with a Fairy/Grass Rabbit Pokemon
Some kind of Mixture of a dryad and elf all in the form of a woodland hare
Like a grey jade green rabbit with very long pointy elven ears which can sense the prosperity of plant life
They had a scraped Grass Rabbit for Gen.2 but was scrapped for not fitting the environment of Johto

Yeh, but one thing I hated about Origins is all the Gym Battles were montaged.
Literally the only reason to watch a Pokemon anime is battling and they took most of those away.
Also when people say Origins is better than the normal anime because Red is a better trainer.
Apparently Red using his entire team to beat two Pokemon is acceptable, but when Ash does it it’s outrageous (talking about Roxie here). I dislike the double standard.

I agree. As much as i like Origins it gets way too much credit. And while i think the main anime could use some tweaking I’m content with it. I’m glad we have an anime for the game at all considering most other anime based off of games will either be short or be poorly done adaptations (granted i tend to enjoy them still. Just because its poorly adapted doesn’t mean its bad)
Personally, when I think what anime should look like the first thing that comes to my mind is that Black & White short film. It was more grown up, interesting and Pokémon had their in game, more animalistic cries rather than saying their names… that way it should be!

Because Pkm is “for kids” who “don’t like violence” and always “want” happy endings. They should make a show for kids and another ones for the more mature audience (with no ash or pikachu)
the ‘kids’ are grown up, so should pokemon… Well at least a large part of the pokemon fans are grown up..
They should at least bump up the age rating a bit for the older fans.I’m not saying make it completely dark,just saying that maybe they could make the anime a little more serious (or at least something like that) for the fans who’ve been watching Pokemon since it first came out or around that time.I don’t have a problem with how the anime goes,but everything I just said would probably make the anime better.Plus,it’ll get them more money.(Sorry if this is long,btw)

Oh I know this one! Pokedex left because of the buggyness of disqus on mobile. I’ve experienced issues with that too, but they have gotten better recently. I’ve mostly just stopped using my phone for PJ; whoever’s issue that is really needs to fix it, it renders disqus unusable at times.

This is huge! For more reasons than one. Firstly, I believe this is the first time that pokemon has even referred to the different generations as “generations”. Until now that was a fan term.

Hmm, that’s weird then. It looks like Red is fighting P Zygarde. It does state that these are “untold stories” so anything could happen.
Well Zyarde is the legend in Kalos, just because its cells and stuff moved to Alola doesnt mean anything, remember the anime Zygarde core was able to find cells all around
Yeah. I feel like the Zygarde quest was meant to be in XY but was cut because it was rushed. There’s really no reason for it to be in Alola unless there is some story we’re unaware of.

So I had a dream last night where I got to play Sun and Moon (I have one of these like every week lol). But there was this really weird feature that let you change the colors of shiny pokemon to any color you want. There was a gradient on the bottom screen, and you could change a shiny to any color on the gradient. That would actually be so cool though, I can just imagine the shinies I could create with that.

So gradients would change the tint of the Pokemon, which would make the game have to render the tint overlay of the Pokemon. Sun and Moon already are jam packed and would run SUPER SLOOOOW with having to render and upwards of 4 different tints at a time in multi-battle types. Shiny Pokemon are just texture swaps, this would be entirely different xD

I don’t know how I’d feel about that. I spent 3/4 of a year looking for a shiny, I don’t know how much time I’d waste looking for one of those. It’d be like “Another shiny?! I already have like a full box of these! *release*”.

So I battled my friend at school today and he is a bit more of a casual player so I won pretty easily. I realized though, so many X and Y teams are the exact same. I’ve seen so many times:
– Starter (Usually Greninja)
– Lucario
– Version Legendary
– Mewtwo

– Kanto Starter (Probably Charizard)
Those teams are obviously for the casual players. They’re THOSE Pokemon, ya know? The ones that everyone will obtain.

That guy is a genius. Even if 100% of what he theorizes are untrue, the amount of research, dedication, and time it takes to create these theories and then tie them all in a cohesive manner presentable to the masses is INSANE, and I admire him for that. However, the downside to that is the probable let down of the stories not living up to their potential or GameFreak being afraid of making the story too complicated for their core demographic(s) and sugarcoating and/or simplifying it to such a molecular level that it’s a predictable hot mess. They’ve been apart of the games since generation 1, but there were special and physical types and any move that was apart of a special type was considered a special move. However, that changed in generation 4 when moves not belonging to a special type could be physical and vice-versa.

Nah I’m using the king of Ice types Avalugg high defense, best attacking stat is Pysical and learns lots of Pysical moves, can sweep off Spikes and Stealth rock and weather with RAPID SPIN, Heaviest regular Pokemon (non-Legendary or Mega) so it can easily abuse Gyro Ball, has hidden ability Sturdy to stay in the fight! Need I say more?

In some ways yes in other no some being bigger looks better but some big don’t look good
I know lots of people who are quite active and do a lot of rambling/hiking and they’re still very large. Equally I know people who do nothing but sit on their arse all day but are still as thin as a rake.
Weight can still be effected by nutrition too. I don’t think the player characters really get 3 meals a day so there is that. There are alot of factors for it though but idk
They also don’t go to the toilet and sometimes don’t sleep. By all means the player should be dead or at least seriously ill.
Besides, we’ve got alien creatures coming in from other dimensions, characters’ bodies not reflecting their diet is probably one of the least strange things.
Weight is also affected by genes, some peoples’ bodies naturally store more fat than others.
I must admit, the more I think about it, the more I realise just how little the characters in pokemon vary in body size. They only have three settings: skinny, muscular and fat, they don’t have anything in between. The heights vary, but the actual builds of the bodies are pretty generic. And the player characters have never been anything but skinny. Heck, even Miis allow for more customisation than that.

I think I realized why so many of the gym leaders in gen 5 are better characters. Their gyms are actually places. Like, restraunt, library, art studio, mine…
That combined with the fact that they actually did things outside of being simple gym leaders in the story, and that due to the lack of time needed of creating the game engine, they were able to focus more time into creating well crafted characters. Not necessarily good characters, but certainly ones with more effort then we usually see.
Which is why X and Y needed another year

Ehh, yes and no. The story could have been a bit better, especially given you can see that they were setting up some good ideas, but at the same time after the disappointment that was Gen five(mostly B/W2), I can see why they rushed things.
Their gym being places is actually part of their character. As you may recall every single gym leader in unova have a job or a hobby other than being a gym leader. Unlike XY who also try to do the same, BW used their hobbies or job as one of many why their personalities and character where like that. XY didnt take advantage of that.
I don’t think they’re better characters but I agree they have nicer gyms.
To be honest I only really like Elesa and Burrgh, and maybe Lenora. The triplets are mostly ok and Roxie looks kind of ok, but most of the others aren’t that interesting. Especially Drayden, Brycen, Clay and Skyla, they’re weird.

yeah that’s pretty much right. Basically Japanese doesn’t have a sound/letter for L or R, but rather a combination of the two. So basically you have to look to the context of the word to figure out if you would spell it with an L or an R. Kind of like how you would spell the Japanese of Charizard with an L instead of an R, because its a lizard.

Japan doesn’t have an L sound so they substitute their R sound (meaning Lucas ends up as Rukas, Lovely ends up as Raburi etc.)
Until there’s a proper English name or something to hint, they have to guess which it’s supposed to be.
That’s an oversimplification because tecnically it’s neither, but R is always preferred because it’s marginally closer to the actual sound.

I adore them, they are some of my favourite Pokémon already. I hope they have good stats, movepools, abilities etc. Saying that I will love them anyway.
I still prefer the midday form, I don’t mind the colouring of the night form, but I don’t like the tuft of hair on its head or the way its front claws are shaped. I hate that style of drawing paws/claws where the fingers are very thick and prominent.

Honestly We don’t know if its based on Sun and moon, or time of day yet. Though realistically, its far more the latter. After all do you really think they would restrict entire pokemon forms based on the version of the game you have? Legends make a little sense since their on the covers, but they would never restrict a feature like this to the version your playing.
If there are different forms in the different games (which we still don’t know is the case, as far as we know both Rockruff forms will be available in both games and even if the starters have different forms it’s likely they will too), then there will be no shortage of people offering to evolve it in their game for you, I assure you.

For a start Rockruff’s evolution is no longer a secret, he might have another secret that we don’t know about yet.

I liked Paul McGann as the Doctor, not so much the movie. I wouldn’t mind if he returned again to the role some day.

I liked him too. I didn’t think the film was that bad, they just made the mistake of handing the rights over and giving the writers too much leeway, plus the directing made it awful and gloomy by making it all set at night and some of the camera techniques they used. That weird light/water dot effect in this meme included.
Yes I enjoyed that short regeneration scene. Made me want a series with him. I like a lot of his visual portrayal, for me that is a large part of each Regeneration, their personal style, mannerisms and quirks. Not that they don’t have these in other formats but it can be difficult to convey. I agree about the movie, though I forget a lot of it, I remember there being a lot of rain and lightning and the Master having weird eyes.

It’s an interesting concept that’s been worrying the technology community for a while. It’s called a ‘Filter Bubble’.
It basically means (for example) that if people support a certain political party and hate another, the search engine could end up filtering their results so they only see good stuff about the party they support and bad stuff about the other party, making them more biased and less skeptical.
There’s other implications too, there’s an interesting TED talk about it from 2011 and it’s why sites like DuckDuckGo (another search engine) were introduced.
I know news websites have political agendas, never thought about search engines. I guess I see worse in movies, I saw the adult animated comedy ‘Sausage Party’ recently and that didn’t quite manage to scar me XD .

I came up with a (admittedly, far-fetched) theory earlier today. Since Corocoro comes out on the 15th, and the video announcement is on the 14th, maybe the character that UB-02 Expansion is based off of will be revealed tomorrow. That way, we would have theoretically gotten the UB revealed after the character, and it would’ve made more sense to us had Corocoro not leaked.
Yeah I could see that. No matter what I only see new stuff being shown tomorrow (plus the Cutiefly evo) so if Expansion isn’t based on Gladion like many think it’d make sense for them to show whoever it is tomorrow. That way they technically reveal something new, but it’s also connected to something we just got. Or rather will get since CC wasn’t suppose to be out yet lol
I don’t see the connection to Gladion either. UB-01 and UB-02 Beauty were very easy to compare to a human, and the fact that it took awhile for people to guess Gladion makes be think it’s NOT him. The only trait the really share are the black shoulder spikes and the color red.
Unless they’re going for a not so one to one comparison. Like maybe it’s more so he can really hide his true figure better than the other two. There are lots of characters in shows and games that when they first get shown are tiny and then when they go to fight they’re underestimated until they bulk up. I’ve said that the rip in Gladions shirt could be symbolism for his true form essentially ripping out of what I guess would be a skin sack……..? Uh…..well either way I’m sure get the point lol

Making Rockruff and the Starter’s evolutions version exclusive is a bad decision imo

I think it’s designed to get people to meet and trade with each other more. I would somewhat dislike it, but no more than trade evolution. There’s always someone kind around with the other version that would probably help you evolve it to your preferred form.

I see where you’re coming from. I also rarely use Pokémon I’ve been traded, outside of breeding anyway. If I get a version exclusive I like to breed my own from it. I would never use a traded Pokémon for a playthrough, I like to have my OT on it.
I’m still not sure the Rockruff evo forms are exactly version exclusive. There still seems to be some hesitation about what they really mean. It’s possible they don’t mean they are entirely version exclusive, but rather one is just easier to get in one game and the other in the other game. CC implies both exclusiveness AND the ability to evolve it during either day or night. The day or night part makes no sense if they’re already just version exclusives.

Ugh. This is the thing that worries me most about Sun and Moon. I REALLY want the battle frontier to return, or at least something like it. One of the biggest flaws of gen 6 to me was little post game; I just really want some fun post game feature that has a real challenge (and variety). I know I’m kinda greedy, but the battle frontier was great, why did they remove it?
I hope whatever battle maison area we have will have trainers with more variety of teams with the pokemon (1 time ran into 3 tyrantars in a row, all seperate battles of course). But outside of that i hope there is more to the post game too
I fear that the Battle Royale Dome on Akala is the new Maison. I really hope now. I hope we have a resort island (like Pt, not like ORAS) which has a battle frontier/battle park and areas we can explore. I really wonder what happened, Gen 3 and Gen 4 had a great post game, but then they kinda stopped making a whole lot of post game in the newer generations. I know that most kids don’t play the post game, but if you’re making the games easier for the kids, at least make a hard post game for the veterans. Idk, I just really worry that SM will fall into the same trap that XY did.

Tbh I’ve only ever really liked the Emerald battle frontier. I use the ORAS one, but only because I like rare items, not because I enjoy the stupidly easy battles.
I found the Emerald frontier genuinely difficult and interesting, the rest I found pretty boring.
I expect there will be lots of post game though. The Zygarde cells probably won’t all be found until the post game for one thing. Even if there isn’t much post game, the main game looks quite big on its own.
The thing in ORAS is not a battle frontier. The only games to have frontiers were E, Pt, HGSS. The key word here is frontier, they had many things to do, not just straightforward battles.
It’s battle frontier sort of thing. They have 4 variations of battles. It’s pretty much what RS and DP had.
I didn’t like Pt or HGSS’ frontiers. I liked the extra areas, but not the facilities.

Weird, I don’t see how Quantum Physics has much useful application in standard chemistry (advanced subatomic stuff maybe, but not your basic mixing chemicals stuff)

My professor says that it’s supposed to help us understand bonding and why things bond, but the only thing I got out of it is the shapes of some orbitals (which isn’t even the exact picture for all other non-H elements). I suppose it’s because he was a Physics grad student before combining it w/Chem
It’s probably one of those things that makes more sense if you come back to it after knowing other stuff.
For example in programming, it’s typically easier to just ‘roll with it’ until you get a feel for things and then learn about what’s going on underneath rather than learning about what’s going on under the hood straight away.

Yeah, he has some very strong pokemon, and they’re dependent on the player’s starter choice, so he was definately intended to be battled at some point. No way of knowing if it was as champion or as a sort of red-style challenge.

Pre-order bonuses are what I miss the most about going to Gamestop. I haven’t bought a game from there in a VERY long time much less a Pokemon game. I hate going in mine. I always feel like I’m being stalked by the people who work there. Also they always give off very annoying feels. Like one time I went in there to get a code card for one of the event and ended up buying a blister pack that had a pin with it. the guy asked me if I minded opening the pack and if he could have the pin…….Like come on….you don’t ask your customer to give you something THEY just bought….sheesh….never again…..sorry I just went off on Gamestop….I have a lot of pent up annoyances form them hahaha

Yeah….also a lot of the time when you buy games from them (at least back in the day) they’d give you an opened game box as they would open brand new games for “safe keeping”. In reality it just seemed sketchy and I got the feeling they were just trying to sell used games at full price and that was their way of trying to trick people into not questioning the opened box…..ugh!! lol

Yup because they don’t want people to think that they have unopened and sealed boxes in store. I think the whole company is just really sketchy. Individual stores can vary, but the policies are just way too much for me. I’d rather go to a Best Buy where I can get in and out any day rather than having to deal with the BS of Gamestop employees and store policies……lol

I had an idea of an Alolan Joltik/Galvantula today. I know there are a lot of Alolan Ice re-types but I thought of a Bug/Ice one. Joltik would be a bigger ball of fluff with long legs that seem like sharp icicles. The fur would be a pale almost white blue and it would have light brown eyes. It’s legs would look like ice. Then Galvantula would follow a similar theme, though sleeker, with the ends of it’s legs being serrated to help it cut through ice and rock, and it would have darker brown eyes and grey fur on its back and icicle fangs. It would live in caves of the Snowy Mountains awaiting weary explorers to ensnare. It’s ability would be Static/Fur Coat. It reminds me of Aragog from Harry Potter or Shelob from Lord of The Rings. It would be more Physical and Defensive, perhaps a bit slower.

So do you just take less classes than someone who does semesters? Is that how it helps to even out a bit?
Well, a full load is minimum 9 hours, max is 12. You can take three 3 hour classes and have a full, less stressful schedule, but I’m a music major lol. I have seven classes at 9 hours. It depends on your major really.
How many years do you graduate in?
This is my senior year but my schedule got messed up so I finish my BGS next year and then start my Masters

Yes. I was a biology major, then a music education major but I changed to a BGS because would be at a university for four years including this current one in music ed.

Depends on your definition of good. I’ve taken for eight years and taught myself before that, but my skills are no where near where they should be. (I’m lazy)
i have a lot of friends that are music majors and they take so many classes but they are only worth 1 credit and it just painful to watch their schedule
