Translations:
- NEW Rockruff’s evolution’s forms are version exclusive
- NEW Day Rugarugan’s signature move is called Accelerock (or Accel Rock) which is a priority move described as “a flashing strike”
- NEW Night Rugarugan’s signature move is Counter which is glamorized with the flavor text “a fierce strikeback”
- NEW It seems these are not simple day/night evolutions but are a reflection of the powers that reside in Alola; Solgaleo in Pokémon Sun (Midday form) and Lunaala in Pokémon Moon (Midnight form)
- Rockruff’s evolution is called Rugarugan (ルガルガン). CoroCoro is very vague on Rugarugan, though it appears that it may change form during day and night, and it is not simply a split evolution.
- Two new Ultra Beasts are revealed, UB02 Beauty (shown in Pokémon Moon) and UB02 Expansion (shown in Pokémon Sun)
- The new anime series is called Pokemon: Sun & Moon and will start in November. Since there is no league in the Alola Region Ash’s goal in this season will be to graduate from school.
- Next month’s issue will reveal the true strength of Type: Null

I have a ton of Pokemiles saved from Bank, never used them. Should I take them now? Or save them for potential usage in Sun and Moon?
I would not use them on the off chance they might carry over and give you a head start on BP, especially BP.
And even if they are reset, just pretend you lost them because items don’t transfer between gens.

Someone over on Serebii Forums mentioned the idea of a UB based on the player. As much as that would weird me out, I kind of really want that now.

I think UB-02 Beauty looks more like a cockroach than a silverfish.
But I’m really curious as to how many there are. Surely they wouldn’t have just thrown all they had at us. Three UBs would be unnecessarily hyped, I think.

I just thought about this, but if UB-02 is version exclusive.. would UB-02 Beauty really be Lusamine?
It could just mean the Lusamine/someone else play different roles depending on your version.
That seems really unlikely though as it would imply that in one version she’s a villain, and in another she’s not. Kind of seem’s like something they really wouldn’t do since it would make the story more confusing.
Well maybe in one version the AF is more evil than in the other, like Team Magma/Aqua. It’s accepted in canon that Aqua and Magma are both evil organizations, but that doesn’t stop the fact that they both were “good” in one version.
It’s not so much that they were good. It’s more that they’re still bad, but one sides with you as they realize you’re an asset to them.
That’s why I put quotations xD. But the point is that the AF can play different roles in each version. I’m not sure it’ll happen, but perhaps to an extent they do.
If Lusamine is replaced by some gruff guy who looks like that thing in the version I want, I’m switching versions.

I’m still for the idea that 2 of the revealed 3 looking like other characters is just coincidence/plot related and the rest don’t resemble any other characters.
That would actually be cool, as we would have story differences between versions.. so playing both is not really a repeat. Cool.
I kind of thought that UB-02 had two different forms, one (“Beauty”) which is the more relaxed one, and one (“Expansion”), which is the more aggressive one. Think that “Beauty”‘s body literally expanded and turned red.
My personal crazy theory is that maybe 02 absorbs the power of the box legendary which results in its shape. Like the beauty comes from from the delicate form of Lunala, while the expansion form comes more from the bulky, fiery form of Solgaleo.
But aren’t they version exclusives? I don’t see how that theory would work
The fact that one is shown to appear in Moon and one in Sun doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re version exclusives. It could be the whole day/night thing.

I know for a fact that Sun and Moon will have a god-tier Hawaiian soundtrack. Combine those vibes with the Sinnoh soundtrack and we’re never leaving Sinnoh again.
Sinnoh already has some of the best music. As good as the bump Sun and Moon has gotten, Diamond and Pearl will reign as best games on the DS once again. And it’s going to be hard to beat Soul Silver and Heart Gold
I don’t think there is a soundtrack in the Pokemon franchise with more future potential than Sinnoh. Black and White’s soundtrack is already perfect so it barely needs any retouching.

I’m going to cry so much when those remakes come out. I said that about Hoenn, but it didn’t quite work out that way. I was so young when playing Gen 3 that it didn’t have too much meaning to me. Gen 4 is when I really decided that Pokemon would be a permanent favorite series of mine.

I’m kinda worried about sinnoh remakes. sun and moon seem like a huge step up compared to x and y and oras, and while oras looked great, hoenn is a very tropical and oceanic location, which compared to kalos is very colorful and interesting. and sinnoh… well, its kinda bland. don’t get me wrong I like sinnoh but I feel like a remake of the region will look bland compared to alola, kinda the opposite of the kalos to hoenn situation.

Wow Rockruff’s evolutions are truly amazing, they have such beautiful designs. They really do look like werewolves especially the one that evolves at night imo can just imagine a Rockruff howling at the moon than wala turns into this beast xD I’m going to use the daytime evolution, though I love both this one really was an automatic thing were I just felt like I had to use it call it a calling I suppose. The Ultra Beast is an interesting concept as well, I wonder if they’re really apart of the characters since they look so alike either way I can’t wait to learn more! anyway goodnight everyone 🙂

I’m kinda confused on rockruff’s evolutions. say I like the daytime form better. now, if I evolve it during the day to get the day form, will it remain that way permanently or will it constantly change forms as the day passes? if it constantly changes forms, that’s going to annoy me to no end. especially if that’s how our starters are going to be as well.

I honestly think that maybe since these things come from portals and in the last trailer lunala and solgaleo aren’t fighting and instead jump together into a portal (heck, their visor head thing with the eye) I think that they will help take these beast back to their dimension or team skull could use them to fight aether team and their ub beasts. That or maybe the ub go out of control and aether has to capture solgaleo and lunala to help return them back to their dimension.. I think! Lol! But who knows at this point I’m lost. Specially with the mosquito and roach looking ub-02 beasts ?

I’m fairly certain they’re not version exclusive. Since Rockruff’s evolution is dependent on the time of day, it wouldn’t make sense to separate the forms.
Rockruff wouldn’t be able to evolve in either version outside of a twelve hour window (day for Sun and night for Moon), which seems unlikely.
So if the UB are infact pokemon(not saying they are) but lets say they are.. I would guess UB02B would be psychic/bug and UB02E is fighting/bug. What do you guys think? Im not sure about UB01 pure psychic.?

Comparing the Two forms of (L)Rugarugan is like Comparing Miyazaki Animation (sun) to Disney Cartoons (moon), Gotta say though… The Moon form completely suits me. I simply love it.
