Dae asks: Will you buy the New 3DS?

Sorry that I didn’t upload my Ice Bucket Challenge video last night. Seeing as I still had to edit it and upload it to Youtube, I didn’t have the time yesterday. But it will likely come today!

In the meantime, we’ll do this Dae asks so there’s at least some sense of activity. It’s the calm before the storm (of actual news) I guess. But one thing that did happen was the reveal of the New 3DS (XL), a totally enhanced edition of both 3DS and 3DS XL. They will retail for nearly the same price as the old ones and are intended to replace them, seeing as they don’t have drawbacks like previous new revisions had. The most interesting them about them (for me) are the included extra shoulder buttons and analog nub, so you can play Circle Pad Pro games without that bulky accessory. Of course, it includes increased CPU and GPU power, which means it can render slightly more powerful games and will also reveal Xenoblade as an exclusive. I know some of you aren’t hapy with this, out of fear you have to buy a New 3DS to be able to play any games, a sentiment that largely comes from not having the available funds to buy a new console, which is a fair opinion. But since I do, and since I believe Xenoblade couldn’t have happened without New 3DS, I’m quite happy with the power boost. I’m sure that most games will be Dual System like they were for DSi and that they just featured improved textures and/or framerate.

I will be buying mine when it gets released in, sadly, 2015. Also because I bought my 3DS at launch which means I’ll have it in my possession for four years before I buy a new one. It’s about time something new got released! But what about you? Will you buy one? Do you want one but you’re not sure if you have the money available? And if you’ll buy one, do you want the regular or the XL? The faceplates for the regular makes it harder dear for XL-lovers, since they would miss out on the customisation option.

  3. I will probably end up buying it and keeping my 3DS as well, just for my collectors need in me (I have the GBC->DS)
    I mean the added extras that make it different from it’s predecessor will be certain for almost all games in the near future so it makes sense. Especially seeing as how Amiibo will have an impact on SBB/Mario Kart (maybe)/possibly Pokemon games (Rumble?) etc
    Whether I’ll get it at release is still something I’m debating. Depends on the price and how poor I am from being a Uni student

  4. I’m so glad they’re just bumping up the systems and enhancing them. I definitely plan on getting one. Trade my XL in for that large, sexy one…. 😉 The only thing that I don’t like about it is the memory card. I just bought memory for my DS but now I will have to dish more money out for another 32GB just for a micro and to keep my games…

  6. No, I will not be buying the new 3DS. I will only do so when I am forced to. If they also do this crap with the Wii U too I will be pissed because I literally just got it for Christmas. I really don’t care about processors or whatever small differences this “new” system has to offer. I only want to play Pokemon and AC.

  14. So buying it ASAP. Just not sure whether to get a regular or XL. If they have a ORAS themed XL like all other gens of 3DS/DS and pokemon, I’ll get that.

  20. OMG Dae’s face at the end, his like, I’m so done. Never doing this again. XD And i might get the new 3ds. Depends if we will get Sinnoh themed plates for the 3DS, if not then i will probably wait until Sinnoh themed 3DSes if we get them tho. So for now i will say MAYBE

    I’m hone from school and finished my HW
    I want this new N3DS but if they make one Hoenn themed I will totally (hopefully Rayquaza themed but Kyorge themed is good enough)
    But if I buy this the 3DS life span better be at least 4 more years until they make new handherd

    Anyway, anybody got a 5-6IV female bulletproof Impish Chespin with Spikes and Synthesis?
    I am willing to trade some 6IV pokemon
