CoroCoro and SPP Confirm New MegaEvolutions

The November issue of CoroCoro has leaked and officially revealed/confirmed some Mega Evolutions, the starter’s final evolutions, and more!

Mega Evolutions

  • Mega Gengar – Not an exclusive, gains the ability Shadow Tag but keeps its typing
  • Mega Aggron – Exclusive to Y, becomes pure Steel-type and gains the ability Filter
  • Mega Tyranitar – Exclusive to X and keeps the ability Sand Storm as well as its original typing

 Garchomp Serial Code

In next month’s issue of CoroCoro there’ll be a serial code that will give you access to their special Garchomp. This Garchomp holds a Dragon Fang, knows Crunch, Dragon Claw, Dig and Draco Meteor. The location of its Mega Stone will also be revealed in the next issue – that is, if we don’t find it first.

UPD: New Mega Evolutions

Thanks to Serebii we now have some new information and pictures of previously unknown evolutions. Details in the spoiler box.

[spoiler]

  • Mega Pinsir – Bug/Flying-type and has the ability Aerilate which turns Normal-type moves into Flying-type moves, X exclusive
  • Mega Heracross – Stays Bug/Fighting, has the ability Skill Link, Y exclusive
  • Mega Banette – Stays pure Ghost-type and has the ability Prankster
  • Mega Medicham – Stays Fighting/Psychic and has the ability Pure power

Apparently at some point in the game Professor Sycamore will upgrade your Mega Ring so that it can detect hidden Mega Stones. They are only detectable, however, between 8pm and 9pm.

  1. Everyone! Your rival is the one who gives you the starter but it’s not the one she picked at the start. It’s the offspring you get.

  2. Wait a minute… If R/B/Y remakes were made for Gen 3 and R/S/E are going get remakes shouldn’t FireRed and LeafGreen get one too?

  3. Can I just say, I have been playing this game for precisely, 11 hours and 4 minutes and I’m not even at the city with the second gym XD hahaha.

  4. “Oh. Hordes can be triggered more often with things such as Honey, Sweet
Scent etc. Considering they often have Pokémon that can’t be found
anywhere else, or with their Hidden Abilities, it’s a good way to go”

  7. Hi guys, my friend and I are sitting here playing the new Pokémon games, and I am about 8 hours ahead of him, yet he has more PokéMiles than me… Can someone explain both what they are, how you earn them and what I can do with them? Thanks. 🙂

    • You have the games we don’t, how should we know XDD Just kidding.

In all seriousness I think that it could be how much you have traveled in the game maybe?

Have your students played the game with you yet? 😀

    • They are for the new global link. In Pokémon X & Y, you can earn Poké Miles within certain parts, currently unknown. PokéMiles are used in the PokéMileage Club in the PGL in order to pay to play attractions and receive items from the shop, which can then be sent back to X & Y.

    • IV’s are stats a pokemon is born(hatched) with. Super training is EV training which is used to raise a certain stat of a pokemon significantly 😀

Actually refer to regidudeam’s reply on IV’s…

    • at level 100,

every stat can have a variation from 0-31 points. That’s completely dependent on IV and it’s fixed…permanent.

    • The anime contains more foreshadowing to a Hoenn remake/return:
      1) a sibling duo to accompany Ash on his journey: May and Max vs. Clemont and Bonnie (both duos have relation to a gym)
      2) the starter pokemon are split among the Ash and his friends again (Ash gets Froakie, Serena gets Fennekin, and Clemont gets Chespin), just like in Hoenn (when Ash got Treecko, Brock got Mudkip, and May got Torchic). As opposed to Gen I, II, IV and V, where Ash trains more than 1 starter in each.

  9. I’m sorry I wavered momentarily in my allegiance to Froakie. That official art does Greninja so much justice. Revamping the team around my favorite slimy ninja.

  10. With the amount of NPC’s that just give you stuff in this game you would think i was walking up to everyone going “give me stuff or my froakie will ninja slap you” XD
