CoroCoro and SPP Confirm New MegaEvolutions

The November issue of CoroCoro has leaked and officially revealed/confirmed some Mega Evolutions, the starter’s final evolutions, and more!

Mega Evolutions

  • Mega Gengar – Not an exclusive, gains the ability Shadow Tag but keeps its typing
  • Mega Aggron – Exclusive to Y, becomes pure Steel-type and gains the ability Filter
  • Mega Tyranitar – Exclusive to X and keeps the ability Sand Storm as well as its original typing

 Garchomp Serial Code

In next month’s issue of CoroCoro there’ll be a serial code that will give you access to their special Garchomp. This Garchomp holds a Dragon Fang, knows Crunch, Dragon Claw, Dig and Draco Meteor. The location of its Mega Stone will also be revealed in the next issue – that is, if we don’t find it first.

UPD: New Mega Evolutions

Thanks to Serebii we now have some new information and pictures of previously unknown evolutions. Details in the spoiler box.

[spoiler]

  • Mega Pinsir – Bug/Flying-type and has the ability Aerilate which turns Normal-type moves into Flying-type moves, X exclusive
  • Mega Heracross – Stays Bug/Fighting, has the ability Skill Link, Y exclusive
  • Mega Banette – Stays pure Ghost-type and has the ability Prankster
  • Mega Medicham – Stays Fighting/Psychic and has the ability Pure power

Apparently at some point in the game Professor Sycamore will upgrade your Mega Ring so that it can detect hidden Mega Stones. They are only detectable, however, between 8pm and 9pm.

        • Dark Pulse has a higher BP than Night Slash – that’s my reason for that. As for Water Shuriken, I’d have to see how well it does in battle before I go on a breeding frenzy. You could always go with a Mild nature, though it makes Greninja even more fragile than it already is, but you can go 252 EVs on SPD and split it on ATK and SpATk to where they end up to even. That way you can have a mixed sweeper.

      • I heard. HP, Attack, and Defense aren’t very good, but despite that, I think I’ll use it. And with its Dry Skin Ability, it’ll be a powerhouse against water types!

      • Not as far as i know. I’ve seen shiny minun, Chatot, Greninja, Froakie, Espurr, Meowstic, Riolu, Skiddo, Hoppip and Gogoat in pics, so I’m pretty sure the odds have been raised.

          • You think if they didn’t have to animate so many different vivillion, there could have been room for at least one other Pokemon? I mean, what was the number, 69? That seems just a little too low. 70 would be a lot better. And besides, i don’t know why everyone expected a lot of pokemon. Kalso is a low Pokemon region, like Sinnoh and Johto.

          • Kalos has a lot of Pokémon. I don’t think it’s a low number, at all. But, I agree that there are less new Pokémon this generation. But, meh… Nothing we can do about it, plus there are a lot more things to look forward to in this game.

          • True. And the amount of form changes and different designs is huge, so you could count that.I meant that is has a small amount of new Pokemon.

            Kanto: 150-151
            Johto 104-105
            Hoenn 130-131
            Sinnoh 107-108
            Unova 156-157
            Kalos 69
Im unsure, because people sa that Mew isn’t in the original RBY, and wasn’t even in the dex. Not sure though.
