RUMOR: Images Show Final Froakie, Chespin Evolutions & New Pokémon

These are not necessarily real images, their authenticity has not been established. Please do NOT treat this as a news post, instead enjoy commenting & speculating. We will update you if any details come out to (dis)prove any of this.

We’ve marked the main image warning of Pokémon X & Y spoilers so we won’t be hiding images in these posts.

The pictures above purport to be from a review copy of Pokémon X. As you can see, they claim that this is the final evolution of Froakie, Greninja, and a new Flying/Fighting-type Pokémon called Hawlucha. The latter Pokémon also has a new Fighting-type attack called Flying Press.

UPD2: A new image has surfaced claiming to show the final evolution of Chespin from behind. This is from a different person than the person who posted Greninja & Hawlucha. UPD: Confirmed fake

The poster also mentioned that XP is also much easier to earn and that entire parties will get some from battles with the use of EXP Share, a key item found early in the game. He also mentioned that XY only introduce around 70 new Pokémon. He also said that there barely is any endgame, with you only being able to catch Mewtwo and the Z legendary.

UPD1: A new Pokémon has supposedly been photographed. No other details are currently known. Remember, we do not know if these Pokémon are real or fake, so please don’t consider them as either until they are proven one or the other.

UPD3: We broke the site record for most visits in one day! Also, be wary of all the ‘leaks’ out there, there are so much (blatant) fakes going around that the legit leaks may get lost in it!

Looking forward to reading your comments!

  1. Wasn’t there an embargo set for final starter evolutions, and that was after the games come out. I mean, if this is true, someone’s going to jail…

        • No! Not your comment! I was commenting on the “leaker’s” decision. Is it really worth it to get into legal trouble so that you can satisfy the pokemon community’s insatiable thirst for leaks? Gamefreak really wants us to relieve the red and blue experience, so I think we should respect that. We are acting kind of entitled, you know?

Sorry if you thought I was insulting you. There is no need to get so defensive, though. No one’s gonna bite you. It was just a small misunderstanding of words, and poor writing on my part.

And yes, there is an embargo on final evolutions, until the 4th of october, I believe.

So, let’s move on and keep talking about Pokemon!

        • I don’t know what happened to my other comment, I am not insulting you, so don’t worry. I was commenting about the “leaker.” Is it really worth it to get into legal trouble in order to satisfy the pokemon community’s insatiable thirst for leaks? If Game freak wants us to relieve the red and blue days and really hype us up, then we need to respect that. They are the ones that make and provide us with these awesome games. We are being entitled and just plain being pieces of ungrateful poopies.

Again, sorry if I insulted you. No need to get so defensive! No one’s gonna bite you. Don’t worry!

    • Yeah because leaking ome pokemon pics will send you to jail……
If they even get the leaker I think the worst he would face would be a Cease and Desist order and a fine.

  2. I feel like it’s fake because it’s too pandering. Showing a starter evo and a Fighting/Flying type which everyone wants. Looking back at when the Black/White pokedex leaked, people were upset and complained b/c so much was stuff they didn’t want (ie third Fire/Fighting starter in a row)…Just my two cents

    • Well, Tongue scarf here is garnering a lot dislike, and definitely not a direction anyone every would have guessed. Not saying that’s proof, but just pointing out. Much like Dewott to Samurott, really.

  3. The name for Froakie’s final evolution seems very possible. It seems to be a mix of grenouille and ninja. ( grenouille means frog in French ) this makes a lot of sense because the Kalos region is based off of France.

  4. I’ve always wanted to see a Fighting/Flying type! I sure hope this rumor is true! I would be really happy if they had a Pokémon that has an ability that allows it to ignore a foe’s immunities! Then again, it IS hard to believe that the Pokémon in one of the pictures was an official final evolution of Froakie since heavymetallamb stated that it came in a Great Ball, and starters do not come in Great Balls.

  5. I don’t like the artwork for the Froakie evolution. It looks too cheesy. I’m not trusting this although I would love a flying/fighting type!

    • but you know I disagree I think if it’s real than that’s the exact reason they won’t or shouldn’t take it down, that’s almost as good as they saying that it’s real…

  6. I’m less annoyed at Froakie’s final evolution design and more annoyed that it can learn Extrasensory, hoping that the Fennekin line is the only starter this gen with a Psychic sidetype.

  7. How come the summaries of Chespin and Torchic are a nice brown color, but these new summaries have white backgrounds?

And you would’ve thought that someone with a review copy and access to internet etc would have a great camera to use and not uploading some blurry looking crappy fakes. I don’t care if I’m offending anyone that wants them to be real, but I’m not buying it. There fake to me. They don’t scream Sugimori designs and the alleged frogadier evolution is drastically a complete new Pokemon, it didn’t retain any of its old features.

I’ve read two people say they have review copies of the games and cannot leak any images until after October 4th or so and have signed on NDA’s. Why leak them now at the end of Sept?

    • The summary background looks the same to me. It’s just the quality of the picture.

In regards to your last paragraph, it’s called being a rebel and leaking the info 😉

    • Not that I’m saying they aren’t fake, but uh, roughly same color scheme, continuation of the spikes on the eyes, now more pronounced, similar shape and pose, and same style of feet and hands, this “Pokemon” definitely retains those features. Besides, REALLY shouldn’t say things like that, because Samurott. That obviously isn’t a problem for Gamefreak to change things heavily.

      • Yeah I actually feel bad bashing the design’s so hard. People after closer inspection, Frogadier’s evo isn’t actually that bad and does retain the spikes on the eyes as you say. I had pulled the two pics of and compared them side by side and thought… maybe it could evolve into this. Its actually not bad at all and I think its caught in the animation of twirling its tongue around

        • Honestly, that close side of the face, the really heavy white spike, really feels off to me. Nor why it appearently is dark blue on the other side of the spike, that as a design standpoint seems weird for this particularly design. Just, I’m waiting because the tongue thing. It seems weirdly plausible, and something that no one has done before when doing the fakes, because no one would THINK of doing that, seemingly, unless this person banked on that, and did so. That’s what leads me to believe it could be real, honestly. The Tongue.

          • Same here. The tongue (possibly wrapped in animation) and the spikes behind the eyes is what made me start warming up to it and believing its real. I thought it was in a great ball at first but didn’t realize the summary now show all the pokeballs in a team. Pretty cool.

    • the only thing I have to point out about what you said is that those images we saw of the summaries don’t mean much as it says in every trailer and everywhere else that it’s subject to change, they could have changed the color, or it even be an option to change it…

      Reply
      • Yeah I think there still brown, I just think the pic quality is low enough to make them seem white lol. I need some HQ shots. I’m not too fond of the bird still but I actually quite like the frogadier evo

  8. this is pure fake i mean look at greninja it doesnt even have the bubbles on the back and i heard lots of rumors that the bubbles will get longer on the back and stuff like that and i heard that he will get darker and so on and a the other one looks like it culd actualy be real so i just dont beleve greninja

  9. Greninja is the pokeball that’s sticking out it’s obvious and there’s a masterball so it has to be either Xerneas or Yveltal or a new legendary because Greninjas level is 66
