Meet Amaura’s and Tyrunt’s Evolutions Aurorus & Tyrantrum! [UPD1]

[UPD1] A few new pictures added

The evolution for the recently revealed Pokémon Amaura has been leaked by the website Jeux Video. Its name is Aurorus and has a new attack called Freeze-Dry which is super effective against Water-type Pokémon and may freeze opponents! Update: IGN has now released some pictures of Tyrantrum, Tyrunt’s evolution. It can learn Head Smash.

Game Details

In addition to the two new Pokémon, various game outlets got to play Pokémon X & Y and have revealed some small additions to the games.

  • New Kalos Pokémon will not be receiving Mega Evolutions, only Pokémon from generations 1 through 5
  • It’s official, Masuda has confirmed that the overworld will not be in 3D, only battles and some special scenes
  • PokéCenters will now feature an area to customize trainer appearance alongside the medical area and PokéMart
  • Pokémon now gain XP when the wild opponent is captured
  • Professor Sequioa asks you to run an errand at the start of the game: delivering a letter to your mother

Trivia

Amargasaurus

Amaura and its evolution are both probably based on Amargasaurus. The artist of the above picture has depicted it with skin sails similar to the two Pokémon, but recent theories speculate that the rows of spikes probably stood on their own without any connecting tissue.

  1. If you guys read the article you will find that they posted the source of where they found the pic. So u guys can stop asking for a source now. If y’all learn to REAAD instead of rushing to see the pic and get first comment… Argh

  2. Is it just me, or does this guy look a bit incomplete to anyone else? He looks like a middle stage evolution to me, but we’ve never had a three-stage evolution line when it comes to fossils. :/

    • I thought the same thing. It still looks small, if that makes sense. You never know, they could change things up a bit. But I doubt that.

      • Yea, I see what you mean. I was thinking that real dinosaurs had much longer necks and they were just larger in general. I guess I’ve learned never to assume something when it comes to GameeFreak.

        • I had thought about this my self, and I realized if they went with real dinosaur sizes, these fossils would be gigantic. I mean, a t-rex can be 40 feet long, and were 13 feet at the hips height wise. I mean, Wailord is ‘only’ 47′ feet itself, presumably length. Plus, we’ve kind of had a long necked dinosaur kind of sort’ve in terms of design before, Dialga, so we can probably use it as kind of a reference point for how large they’d probably go.

    • Yes…personally im a bit disappointed mostly due to the blandness of those frill’s – i was hoping they might have been shaded to look like an aurora once it had evolved.

  3. This evolution is awesome! Its so elegant :3

I’m still in two minds whether or not to get Tyrunt over Amaura though. I wonder if we’ll get its evolution sometime ?

And because we got Pyroar last week and Amauras evo this week, does anyone think we could get a new Pokemon each week till the release ?
