September Corocoro Leaking! [UPD2]

[UPD2] It seems more leaks are coming any moment, as another leaker has gotten their hands on Corocoro and is uploading some pages. New, clear, and full versions of the scans we’ve seen have now been revealed, though there seems to be more to go.

[UPD1] The PokémonKorea official site has updated with details on a playable demo for XY coming to Korea. In this, they report about the Mega Evolutions. This means that Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and any other information should be taken as real as well.

This month’s issue of Corcoro has begun leaking. With new Pokémon and more! Keep checking back as we update with translations!

On Mega Evolutions

  • “Mega” Pokemon; These new supercharged versions of their previous ones are NOT traditional evolutions or forms, but happen through a “Mega Evolution” process.
  • Mega evolutions are ONLY accessible  during battle.
  • A “Megastone” seems to be a collective term for the held items used to Mega-evolve each Pokémon. In the case of Blaziken, its Megastone is called “Blazikenite”.
  • One of the gym leaders, Coruni, hold the key to these new Mega-lutions.
  • Mega Pokémon have stat changes: Lucario gets an Attack stat boost, whilst Absol gets a boost to both Attack/Speed.
  • Unknown what the stat changes for other Mega Pokémon are.
  • Mega evolutions seem to awakened temporarily in battle by holding a megastone for some Pokémon.

Getting ‘Mega’ versions are:

  • Blaziken (Fire/Fighting, ability: Speed Boost)
  • Lucario (Steel/Fighting, ability: Adaptability)
  • Ampharos (Electric/DRAGON, ability: Mold Breaker)
  • Mawile (Steel/Fairy, ability:Huge Power)
  • Mewtwo (Psychic, ability: Insomnia)
  • Absol (Dark, ability:Magic Bounce)
  • Not all Pokemon will get Mega versions.

More could be revealed!

New Pokémon, Miscellaneous

  •  Meekuru, a Grass-type Gogoat prevolution has Sap Sipper for ability.
  •  Horubii, a Normal-type rabbit-ish Pokémon, known as the “Digging” Pokémon has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
  • Dedenne, an Electric/Fairy-type Pokémon which is the “Antennae” Pokémon, has a new ability called “Cheek Pouch,” or Pickup.
  • Speed Boost Torchic will be distributed with it’s “Mega Stone”; This Speed Boost Torchic with “Blazikenite” Distribution starts from the release date(October 12th) to January 15th, 2014.
  • Although cut off, what seems to be Super Training is mentioned! As previous leaks have pointed at, completing these games seems to raise Effort Values for the Pokémon that participate.
  • Also mentioned is the Master Tower, which has a connection to Mega Pokémon.

Also confirmed is that next month’s Corocoro is to show even more Mega Evolutions, alongside an updated type chart to show off Fairy-type.

  1. This is the first thing ever in pokemon that I’ve actively been against. I really hope “Mega-evolution” is fake. Not impressed at “the scoop of the century” thus far.

  2. It just doesn’t make sense that Mewtwo can “mega-evolve” too as the whole thesis behind legendaries is that they stand alone and are powerful enough to not have to go through an evolution process. Please be fake 🙁

  3. So how about those 4th Stage Evos lolloolol Blaziken took OU to a whole new level

So does that mean the 2ch leak was true since it also talked about Dedenne?

AND OMG THAT PIKACHU COUSIN IS KAWAIIII DESUU

  4. I find it really weird that they’re willing to mess with a starter like this. Not saying it’s good or bad, just saying that they usually leave the starters the way they are.

  5. I think this has something to do with the whole “DNA” theme. Like, this is their perfect formes that evolution would have led them up to or something, idk. Or maybe these Pokemon all had the evolutionary potential to become Legendary Pokemon, and these “Mega” formes are their unlocked potential and they all technically become legendary.

    • I like the idea of regular Pokémon being able to hold their own against legends. I know that would make legendaries somewhat pointless, but it would make the competitive seen much more interesting.

  6. Close inspection suggests these ‘evos’ are linked to either Xerneas or Yveltal aesthetically – DNA manipulations? X and Y chromosomes?

  7. Hmm I’m not sure what to think about what we saw. It seems interesting with the whole “Mega” thing. I’ve never been against anything in Pokemon so I’ll probably end up liking it, if its real, at the end lol

  8. Fake. Or at least I very much hope so. Messing with legendaries and starter lines to make the idiotic ancient fanboy dream of “pokégods” true is an absolutely awful idea. I very much suspect this is fake, and if not I’m extremely dissapointed.

    • I think it’s a interesting idea that should be looked into. Why should gamefreak cut themselves short to preserve the legacy. If they believe they have a good idea on their hands and want to execute it, then they should be able to do so. I look forward with an open mind. Also I’m a little bias. I love blaziken.

      • I also love blaziken, I just don’t want it seperated from the other starters in what I see as a blasphemous digimonification. You’re perfectly entitled to your opinion though.
Also, Absol and Mawile need evolutions, not mega-crapification.

        • Well I see your point. Perhaps they’ll have one for some other starters. One for all of them or one from each gen. Or this could be all fake. I am waiting for the complete picture.

          • hopefully they won’t be called mega-blaziken and have a REAL pokemon name maybe but that’s just me 😉

but seriously i do like this leak, i hope this istrue since gogoat’s pre-evo is revealed

    • I think it’s quite exciting. I mean it will make the competitive scene more interesting and it will make some useless/forgotten Pokémon relevant again. But I somewhat agree with the starters/legendaries.

  9. I love the design of MegaBlaziken, but this must be fake. Yanmega’s Japanese name is literally called Megayanma, and when put with MegaBlaziken, MegaLucario, and the others, it doesn’t make any sense. I’m calling bs, although I really like it. 🙁

      • Doesn’t it look like the pokemon we saw in the background of lumiouse city, that people thought was a gogoat pre-evolution.

        Reply
        • Mmm, not really. That one was super small, like the around the size of Mareep. This one appears to be the size of Flaaffy (based on the artwork), but the actual statistics of it’s height may actually disprove my theory.

        • Maybe. Yet, look at this image. It looks like they just copied that and that art is similar to what a lot of people drew. Check out DeviantArt and search go-goat pre-evolution. You will find it. There all similar.

          • That doesn’t mean anything. People based fanart on the Pokemon we saw in Lumiose. If it is indeed real, than it makes sense they would bear some similarity to the actual Pokemon.

    • I agree, the more I look at it, the more fake it seems. The rabbit and pika-clone are generic, the gogoat prevo is just the trailer one, and for some reason i’m pretty sure I’ve seen that mawile thing as an imagined evo somewhere. Besides, isn’t it a bit too early for a corocoro leak?

  10. I love how everybody denies that things could be real when they don’t want it to be the case – like when the final gen V starter evolutions were leaked. Still…this does seem fishy. I mean, that Gogoat pre-evo looks suspiciously similar to fan art that I’ve seen before…
