The long awaited Nintendo Direct is just a few minutes away from going live! We’ve been promised a 45 minute presentation about what’s up and coming on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, and the Nintendo Switch – and we’re incredibly hopeful that we’ll be getting some new details on Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon! We’ll be updating this post with any Pokémon relevant live updates down below (be sure to refresh this post), and make posts about any heavy hitting news shortly after! LIVE UPDATES
- 0:40 – The Direct is starting off with Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon!
- 0:45 – USUM trailer is showing off lots of new footage from the games. Including new areas, and a beautiful cutscene showing Necrozma absorbing Solgaleo/Lunala.
- 1:30 – Overview of Necrozma’s focus on the USUM story, and confirms the English names Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma.
- 1:50 – “Charting New Areas of Alola” feature that shows new locations in Alola such as a beach where surfers gather (notice the new surfer NPC and Poké Ride Mantine), and a valley full of Pikachu. New clothes such as a Pikachu hat and shirt is featured as well.
- 2:15 – The way you choose your starter in USUM is incredibly different. The three Alola starters defend you from a wild Yungoos, and you choose one shortly after.
- 2:20 – Reminder of the event Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc that will be distributed for players who purchase the game before January 10th, 2018. If you purchase a digital version of the games before January 10th, 2018 you’ll receive 12 Quick Balls in game.
- 2:47 – Reminder that Pokémon Gold & Silver versions are coming to the eShop on September 22nd. If you purchase either one you’ll receive a special Celebi for your SM or USUM games via code. You can pre-purchase the Virtual Console games shortly after the direct ends
- 3:10 – NEW ULTRA BEASTS! UB Burst will be exclusive to Ultra Sun while UB Assembly will be exclusive to Ultra Moon
- 3:40 – A gorgeous PokéBall Edition of the New Nintendo 2DS XL will be available November 3rd
