  2. It’d be really nice if they put like a tauros race track or something on Paniola ranch in USUM where you could use the coin trick like in ORAS to hatch eggs. I love the whole IV judgement thing they finally added, but overall the breeding scene in ORAS was superior to SM. There’s really no great place to hatch eggs

    • Makes me think that if USUM did have BF, it would’ve been revealed by now, but hey,PWT wasn’t revealed back then so maybe we’ll get a surprise.

And yeah, USUM might have revealed more, but are those things more exciting than what we got in BW2? Because they might reveal a lot but if those things aren’t very interesting or appealing [ Lycan Dawn, Photo club, Island trial changes, Returning characters (holy siht, did you expect Hau or Gladion to return, I surely didn’t! :0 ) and Mantine surf ] then it’s not going to get people very excited

      But that’s mostly subjective really.

      • It’s not meant to say ‘oh shut up we got more this release period’ lol, I just found it interesting and it points out we might get some more stuff yet which is always fun to speculate

        • Oh my bad

But yeah, what I said in the first paragraph, neither the PWT or the film maker thing were revealed back then so maybe we’ll get a new Battle facility or something like that revealed soon :0

            -Diamond difficulty>>Platinum difficulty
            -Cynthia’s team in DP>Platinum Cynthia
            -Diamond’s Dex>Second ever game
            -Protagonists art in DP>>Platinum art
Just going to Spear Pillar>>>>>>>>>>>>Going through Mt.Cornet to get to Spear Pillar, then the Distortion World
Nothing>>>>>>>>>>>>>No Pokémon exist in the Distortion World

            That’s really all I’ve got

          • You can catch Dialga and Palkia AND Giratina in Platinum

DP was only hard because of bs like the limited dex and amount of HMs

            Ehh

Oh yeah. Those two fire types are amazing. One being a starter and one not evolving until level 40. 150/400 are catchable before the end of the game. Woooow

The protagonists designs make no sense. They are wearing short sleeves in the middle of a freezing cold region

            You are insane

Having encounters in the distortion world would ruin the tone and atmosphere

          • But I’d prefer my favorite Legendary to be the first I get and not wait till post game (and you can catch Girtina in DP as well)

No Platinum was pretty f*cking hard (DP was pretty easy for me)

I don’t give a care for Fire types cause you don’t need STAB and many Pokémon can use Fire moves or just put Fire Blast on Blissey. And for the others? Having a limited amount really can test the limits of how good of a trainer you really are (See if you can learn to use a limited pool of Pokémon)

Was it really cold? We have a Beach in the second town? And it mostly was only cold once you reached Mt.Cornet. granted that Plt. Their is snow that appears in Twinleaf town so I can’t argue that

I hate the complexity of the Distortion World and how you need almost all your HM’s or your screwed (try being 7 or 8 and getting stuck without strength and when you finally get the move on your team, trying to figure out how exactly to push the boulders or the fact I roamed the game for 2 months without a battle (or experience) because I was trapped their

So yeah I don’t hate Platinum, but I do like Diamond more

          • You’re ignoring the fact that the games had worse pacing than X and Y with a horrible story that people forget about because Platinum fixed it.

Go back and play both of them and Platinum is just better in every way. It’s not an opinion thing. It’s just not as good. And yes it does matter that there are ONLY 2
FIRE TYPES IN THE DEX. That is a VERY big problem.

The region’s huge space isn’t even utilized that well in DP forcing you to back track multiple times for no reason.

And yes it was cold. Sorry that they didn’t convey that because Diamond and Pearl are so bland every area had to get an overhaul in Platinum just to make it interesting

And I’m sorry not you don’t like the distortion world because you have to us HMs? So you hate all of Sinnoh?

          • 2 Fires types isn’t the worst thing to happen, we can live without a fire type on are team(I do it in almost every single game, SuMo being the exception). I mean yeah it gives us less coverage and such, but their are other options

But still how many bright Sunny beaches do you see in Cold area’s hmm? I’d say it’s a mixed climate of Mild, Cold and a pinch of Tropical

No, but unlike most of Sinnoh if you don’t have the right sh*t and you forget where you just came from… Your stuck… for months cause you can’t do anything but wander aimlessly through a world of confusion that is impossible to navigate as a child (too much trauma from my first playthrough as a kid I guess)

          • Having two fire types in any dex is awful. It’s limiting people’s options for no reason. It totally ruins people’s Team in a game that ruins them further with the HMs

Boi. I could do the distortion world when I was 10. It doesn’t need that many HMs

Can we base our opinions on the real games instead of our experience from 10 years ago. Because going back to Diamond now it is just trash compared to Platinum.

Doesn’t help it takes 20 seconds to start a battle

          • But that’s the point of opinions is what you’ve gone through and not based on the general facts. If I have more Nostalgia from the original than from the third version so be it. So you have an opinion and I have one, so stop trying to change mine because you disagree

Or your no better than what Earthen used to do when he would go after Fairy type lovers (I was just using that as an example Earthen, you still the Down to Earth Guy)

          • But in this case Diamond is objectively inferior in every way. If you think about it for more than 3 seconds.

Go back and play it. It’s such a slog to play.

          • I did play it around a year ago other than one Pokémon (cause I just wanted to try out Poliwrath) my whole team is fine

And I can’t restart… I have no where to take my SS refugees. I played SS a while ago and had to transfer my team out cause I wanted to restart SS and now all my Pokémon are stuck in Diamond with no where to go (My W2 is incomplete atm and so’s my Black)

          • I think your definition of cold area is a bit off. That looks a moderate climate to say at least, especially that girl is wearing a short skirt and I doubt you’d wear those in tundra like areas.

          • Idk, I found Platinum more difficult and Cynthia’s team better because no double water and ground types. As for Dialga being better than Giratina, that’s fine to think, but you can still catch Dialga in the post game. I’m not sure if you’re trying to say if D/P’s dex is better than Platinum’s, but if you are you’re straight wrong on that one. Platinum has everything D/P has except more pokemon and *cough* fire types *cough.* I don’t think there needed to be pokemon in the distortion world, that wouldn’t make sense.

          • I know DP’s dex isn’t better, but it wasn’t the worst thing in Pokémon

But I think they could have added something like maybe Pokémon that were put their for bad deeds then have maybe so non-catchable Pokémon that have been corrupted through the Distortion (Just a thought I would enjoy)

          • Meh I could pick up either game and love it (cause not saying Platinum is bad, cause it is definitely not, I just like DP more in some ways. Like wouldn’t you love your first ever Pokémon game the most too?)

          • PLs, don’t try to ignore the multiple problems in DP that were fixed in Platinum including Story and Pacing

  3. Philosopher stone ✔
    Chamber of secrets ✔
Wow chambers is a very long film.
Fun fact I somehow ended up watching the extended vers!
The start of the film was awesome the dursleys meeting mess up, flying car etc
I liked the mystery behind the heir of slytherin, seeing Fawkes and it was funny and magical like the first. This was really fun.
Next I’m onto Azkaban really excited.
What I liked about chambers is when Dumbeldore could see through the invisibility cloak, that was cool oh and quidditch!
    Bring on Azkaban!

    Reply
    • Dumbledore can’t see though the cloak, he is just observant enough to notice Harry blundering about in it. Fawkes, Dobby, The Basilisk, Cornish Pixies, the introduction of the Whomping Willow, Flying Car, Lockhart, the Chamber itself, Moaning Myrtle, Polyjuice Potion, The Weasleys home, The Dursleys embarrassment, the last film with the late Richard Harris as Dumbledore, Professor Sprout, and so much more. The second film is still light and fun like the first. Azkaban goes a little darker, it has Buckbeak, Lupin, Sirius, the Dementors and Patronus, time travel, and that Knockout Punch from Hermione. Book 3 is where I started reading (not by choice, I went back to read the first and second when they were back in the library) so it’s possibly my favourite along with 4, though I’m pretty equal in my love for all of the books. Anyway, enjoy 🙂

  4. Ok Just going to ask about the Magazine that Shady keeps showing pics of

So can I assume the Pokémon on them are going to be in USUM? Or no is it too soon?

Cause forget the starters evolving, I want to know why da fuq they are showing all these Pokémon not previously in Alola in something for Alola?!

If they are in USUM then the families of
Timburr, Clauncher, Clampearl, Patrat, Pyroar, Bunneary, Hoothoot and Onix (and if I can guess island scan will have Hoenn and Kalos Starters, cause I doubt them to be naturally wild)

  5. So in the team selection for Alpha Sapphire, I’ve added a Numel to the group. I DexNav chained for a high level one with its HA (so I wouldn’t have to level grind him up), and I found one that nearly destroyed several party members. Impressed with his battle prowess, I caught him and named him Sir Humfrey. (I initially wanted a female to name Fergie)

    Now I have:
    – Iggy the female Sceptile
    – Hot Dog the male Dustox
    – Dagger the female Seviper (Attack is off the charts! another DexNav find)
    – Sir Humfrey the male Numel

Saving the last spots for a Tropius, and probably Latias. Crawdaunt would probably be a better idea, or Whiscash. We’ll see.

But seriously, they didn’t show anything in Milan games, already show UBs but still no Alolan forms and we’re only 2 months from the game, unless they’re some sort of last minute surprise I doubt we’ll have new alo forms

  7. Hey guys I have a quick question on Birthday Presents. My brother is turning 18 on the 10th and my plan is to get a few things for him

    -Pre-order on Ultra Moon version
-One other game I find at Gamestop
-The codes to get Marshadow, the competitive Salazzal and Target exclusive Charizard
-and possibly a Gift card to pay for the rest of UM

Think it will be too much or no?
And if an event has a serial code does that mean it gives a code card like for what Volcanion or Salazzal was? (If it is then I will get the Charizard)

  10. 23 minutes into TamashiiHiroka’s review of DP and I’m almost in tears…..NEVER have I heard anyone more perfectly explain all my problems of DP before!!!!! I’ll hear her second part out about the “good” things about DP, but so far this video has felt very validating. DP have such crappy pacing and the story is incredibly dubious at best………,Only main series Pokemon games that I have this much of a problem with……Oh well time to take a shower and then finish watching haha

    Reply
      • Never played Platinum. DP ruined the entire experience for me. I can’t even get to the first badge in Platinum because I’m so bored and tired of the region. Which is a shame as I really like all the new Pokemon and the general idea of an evil team wanting to create a new dimension sounds cool. I really REALLY hope that when they remake DP it gives it a new lease on life for me.

        Reply
        • Yeah imo gen 4 as in the Sinnoh games suffered alot despite having arguably the best evil team evil leader champion and many memorable mons/places etc
I felt like region was underwhelming not as good as hoenn alola kalos etc
The mons were ok but not my fav set
And the graphics esp in DP were not great.
However im sure a remake will fix most of that.
Imagine a switch sinnoh it would be beautiful. The games need more colour. I still think Platinum is one of the strongest games just need a remake asap lol ill stop now

          Reply
    • Just imo but Gen I to V was a straight progression of plot quality (but IV to V was exponential), I still think DP has a better plot than Kanto, Johto, their remakes, and our first time through Hoenn

      Reply
          • Just the same as many other people really, especially pacing and story, but Platinum fixed the first and somewhat the second so I’m not to critical about Gen 4

          • ‘What colour of orb do we use to raise a large blue legendary Pokémon associated with the sea which we’ re raising for some reason even though the world’s actually already mostly sea’

            ‘idk red man’

          • Uhh that’s very harsh. One could be critical of any team like that if we’re playing that game.
They weren’t as developed as say Plasma but they were still very good and unique in their own way.

          • It’s literally how they are though? It’s still inferior to Cyrus who knew what he was doing and wasn’t a total idiot

          • Cyrus was the real deal I’ll give you that.
ORAS added much more personality to the evil teams/plot and the major characters eg admins and leaders.
All getting plenty of screen time and development.
I think it comes down to tastes and preferences really. They were far from bad leaders.

          • Cyrus was pretty cool tbh as were Galactic but Hoenn was unique in having two evil teams. Maxie and Archie are great imo

          • Even if its a little, is still decent and even good. In DP we barely get to know Cyrus, he was vague as fcuk and nobody even talked about him. They might have fixed him but still, he was a very boring character with a kickass battle theme.

And in RS we got to know Axie and Marchie better and their dumb motives.

And what’s up with the gif? Just because I’m disagreeing with you doesn’t mean I’m salting

          • Keep your head up!
ORAS did great in improving the story and bringing more personality ti the characters.
            Maxie and Archie were great.

          • I legit don’t really care about which version is better tbh. Both games had something to offer and both games lacked at something. It’s pointless to “fight” about this lmao.

Honestly, I don’t dislike XY as much as I used to. They were cute games, but yeah, they could’ve been better for sure.

          • I’d say we get to know cryus pretty well. He basically is emotionally unstable from being abused as a child. He hates seeing fighting in the world and blames it on emotion. So he wants to use the legendaries to create a world where people are free of that. His emotions get in the way of course, particularly anger because the playable character is trying to stop him. Why did maxie and archie even want a full water/land world? There’s no reasonable explanation for their goals.

          • Lol yes there is. I’m too busy to write them up but they have purpose behind their goals.
Have you already forgotten the games??

          • It must not be good a enough reason for me to remember. It really boils down to them being mentally challenged for thinking their goals were good ideas

          • I mean I like team aqua and magma a lot just not in the same way I do galactic or plasma who I think are more serious and sound as opposed to the silly of aqua and magma

          • Keep in mind we’re talking about RS, not ORAS

Remake Archie and Maxie actually receive development and aren’t as dumb (Archie wants to revert the world to a past state rather than flooding a world that’s already mostly water for example), whereas the originals really just boil down to ‘I think more water/I think more land’

          • Ohhh I see that makes more sense now. I never played RS only emerald a million times.
I still like the land water business it fits the region perfectly and is nothing like what other teams are driven by

          • I think it fits them better, it’s just that the originals didn’t convey it well. ORAS isn’t one of my favorite games but I actually really like the personality the evil teams have in it

          • Yeah you know him from the few dialogue that is spoken about him, but there could’ve been better, I mean, everything Team Aqua and Magma did made sense, but team Galactic actions made no sense at all, like why would they need energy or stolen Pkms to accomplish their goals?

          • They used the energy from the windworks for the red chain or something along those lines. I cant remember why they took over the building in eterna. Team aqua and magma wanted mass genocide for people and pokemon

          • The reason they had a base their is cause they used the Sinnoh region kinda like a turf war. If no one was willing to take them on then they would take over and no one could stop them. And they wanted cities with value to the myths

Hence why Pastoria City is void of them because Wake took’em out and they needed no reason to have a city that was deemed worthless to them

          • Lol I sent this ages ago but didn’t realise the swear got it hidden

Stealing Pokémon = more arms for your grunts and less for your enemies, making it less probable you’d be stopped

Stealing energy = they have machines and sh!t that needs powered, for example the machine for the red chain

Its less directly to their goal and more generally helping them, but both of those things make sense for an evil organisation

          • Ah, how do you know those were their actual goals for their actions and not something the devs put in because they couldn’t on what actions the grunts would do to accomplish their goals and instead, decided to focus more on other things.

Even if those were the reasons, they are so insignificant that it wouldn’t make sense to focus that much on them, and instead, made them do problems that really affected their plans (like gen 3 evil teams did for example). The only example that I can think of is bombing the lakes.

          • Because it was only Cyrus who knew the real goal (the rest didn’t ‘a new world’ was that literal) and his grunts were pretty much there just to be interference and brute force? Like literally the game made that obvious lol and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was said out

Why assume ‘wah lazy devs’ when you can use common sense? They need energy for machines and Pokémon for grunts.

          • The game never conveys this though. It leaves the player wondering get what stealing honey from some guy has to do with creating a new world.

And even though you would think getting energy would be important for them the only thing they really need is the red chain to summon the legendary which is taken from the lake trio. And they don’t act like doing that is some huge energy consumer

          • We do learn about Cyrus though? We meet his grandfather and how he regrets Cyrus’ upbringing, constantly feeling rejected by his parents as he never felt he met his expectations, despite being highly intelligent.

How do OG Archie and Maxie develop, like, at all? Were pretty much into goals as soon as we meet them and that’s really it. They grow more and more frustrated but every evil team leader does.

          • Just by learning their mistakes is enough for them to be developed, but yeah, the grandfather iirc only appears in Post game and by then, we don’t care about him anymore, they should’ve let that information early on or be presented in a better way.

And by I mean by understanding Cyrus is in the main story, where he isn’t even a good villain that feels disconnected from his team in a narrative perspective

          • ‘Learned from their mistakes’

They literally just realise their dumb ideas were dumb. That’s not good development at all imo.

Cyrus is meant to be disconnected from his grunts. That’s the point. He’s using them, most of them don’t even know his real goals.

          • With disconnected I mean that his whole team don’t talk about him much at all, and he doesn’t feel relevant until the very end.

          • Because he’s kinda like a Kirby Villain (exclude games where DDD or Magalor are the final boss) where the boss is hidden in the shadows and is unheard of till they realize its time to you to be finished by their own hand

          • But most Kirby games give us another villain to chase after until the end where is revealed that the villain wasn’t the main villain.

It’s completely different from Pokemon and not what I was trying to say about Cyrus

      • Everything has better plot than the original games lol It’s a matter of how that plot flows. To me at least (and apparently others) DP have such a slow grind of a story. It could be GREAT, but it basically self destructs as the pacing is so uneven and most of the begin is so pointless…..

        Reply
        • The story is slower but it’s still one of the better ones in the franchise tbh (mostly because RGBYGSCRSXY all had pretty bad stories imo)

          Reply
    • Plasma because they had the most well developed, yet realistic plan and also BW2 brings up the ideas of grunts trying to repent or having to stick with her team because they have nowhere else to go (we actually see an aftermath for the grunts)

Shame it was all a front for Ghetsis’ generic rule the world bs

      Reply
      • I can’t disagree with you. Plasma were great. I think Galactic are a close second and AF are not too far off from TG.
My favourite team would probably be Plasma and the Hoenn teams

        Reply
    • Plasma, they had the more sensible plan, they actually tried to convince people that they were right and brought out the whole “the world isn’t black or white but a shade of gray thingy”. Yeah, Ghetsis plan ended up being very typical for a JRPG but atleast it was well elaborated

      And also because N.

      Reply
    • I want to say Galactic if we’re talking typical of a Pokémon World because they had a goal and they executed very well and it seems if the protagonist wasn’t there, they would have succeeded and brought a new Beginning from the shadows

      Reply
    • Honestly I know it’s a cliche, but I’d say I like Team Rocket the most. (original TR) I liked that their main goal wasn’t really world domination by way of some crazy destroy everything plan than involved a legendary Pokemon. they were the most realistic I think out of all of them. while their plan failed miserably at least it was about something other than “I’m gonna take over the world with this super powerful thing that can destroy planets!!!” They only focused on being a crime syndicate and were much more interesting in that regard. It was much cooler to see a leader that was smart and cunning than one that relied on the power of a mythical being.

    • Very hard to choose between plasma and galactic. I love their themes, their goals, pretty much everything. I might give galactic a slight edge though because their story leads us on a more fantastical journey

Buuuuuut I like Aether Foundation more. I just wish they had more of a presence

      Reply
    • I don’t even know… I can’t remember well.

Team Skull was my favorite because they were the most like a normal gang of punks. Angry delinquents tricked and bullied into something they had no comprehension of.

Team Rocket (original) was the easiest to understand. No lofty ambitions either. Take all the good stuff, take out anyone in the way. They wanted to be rich and in charge.

Team Plasma made me feel kind of bad about playing pokemon, but the ethical question sort of fell away at the end to “grab the legendary dragons! yes!” and there was no way you could just retire from battling and hang out with your pokemon Nintendogs-style for the rest of the game.

AZ was arguably worse than Team Flare. He was the one who built the doomsday device using a bunch of dead pokemon to bring one Floette back to life then he was going to destroy most of the world because of all the killing? Team Flare at least had a goal other than “they killed my best friend and now I’m mad”.

  11. Here’s a tricky question of the ages…
Let’s assume in Kanto, you could time travel and space to the next gen after you become champion in each generation. (Excluding remakes and 3rd versions/Sequels)
Your first starter is the only starter you get, but you can catch any pokemon from the respective time and place along the way.
By the time you become Alola’s Champion (assuming your guys are all now maxed at level 100 due to all the fighting), which 6 pokemon will your champion highlight reel feature?

  15. Well unless I randomly decide not to I’ll be playing X version when I get back to America. I want to make an analysis as good as Tamashii Hiroka’s really

Just not sure if I want to put in the effort into making a video. It would be a lot more work but a lot more accessible. Idk. I’ll figure it out

  16. The sun and moon soundtrack honestly makes me really excited for what they will do next. Even just having region leitmotifs goes such a lining way to establishing a unique feeling of being in that region that no other region other than maybe Unova has really achieved.

  17. Does anyone else hope they bring back Megas and use them as well as SuMo used Z-moves? Like you actually saw a decent amount of trainers use Z-moves, even some random trainers, but it still felt special? Megas just felt super underused imo

    • Yeah of course, in XY it felt weird that like only 4 people could use Megas including you, and I hope they add more megas as well, gen 5 needs more

    • Megas >>>>>>>>>>>> Z Moves

I literally only ever used Z moves because I wanted to end a battle quickly only to remember after I select it that the cutscene is longer than the battle up to that point.

Ffs make the Z move cutscenes skillable after the first time

  18. Right now the for sure members of my team are

    Meowstic
    Gourgeist
    Sylveon
    Noivern

Not too sure about the last two. I may use Braixen for a while but she won’t be permanent. Just long enough until she becomes unusable or I catch my last Pokémon. Whatever comes first.

I’m also considering Absol and trading over the mega stone because I LOVE MEGA ABSOL and I hate you can’t use it until the end of the game

That leaves me with one last spot. I don’t really need surf since you use it once the entire game so it’s really open to whatever.

  21. Totally off topic but Buzzfeed Unsolved is really freaking good

Like I know it sounds weird considering it’s buzzfeed but it’s like… actually really interesting and well done. Plus the two hosts are really great and work off eachother in an entertaining way. Well after the first couple episodes where it’s different people

    Has anyone seen this series?

    • Omg the gameplay is drastically different.

And if you mean art style then yeah, cuphead feels way more like an old cartoon than Bendy

      Reply
    • Super different lmao! Cuphead is a platform game, while Bendy is a first point of view horror game. The only similar thing about them is that both have an art style the resembles the old cartoons.

What are some good things about your least favorite type/region?
Rock: Stealth Rocks is soooo handy, and you can never go wrong with rock slide
Johto: Ecurteak city was really nice

  23. Where would you least like to live in the Pokemon world?

Pacifidlog looks really nice, but I couldn’t deal with it being stationary on water with like, noth large land masses around for ages
