New Safari Zone Events Dates & Details Announced, First EX Raid Pass

The previously postponed Pokémon GO Safari Zone events in Europe are now just around the corner!

On September 16, official Pokémon GO Safari Zone activities will be taking place at Unibail-Rodamco Shopping Centers located in CentrO in Oberhausen (Germany), Les Quatre Temps in Paris (France) and La Maquinista in Barcelona (Spain).

At each Pokémon GO Safari Zone event, ticket holder Trainers will be able to…

  • Receive special 2 km Eggs from the various PokéStops found at each of these shopping centers
  • Take advantage of Lures that will be activated all day at each PokéStop at the event
  • Enjoy higher spawn rates of rare Pokemon such as Kangaskhan, Chansey, Larvitar, Shiny Pikachu, Shiny Magikarp, and various forms of Unown
  • Get a special in-game medal and an in-real-life “Trainer Kit”
  • Meet and catch up with your fellow trainers in team lounges

However, in order to optimize the experience for all Trainers attending, Gym and Raid Battles will not be available at these shopping centers during the events.

Trainers will soon be able to reserve free, nontransferable tickets to each of the Pokémon GO Safari Zone events taking place on September 16. To receive a QR Code, which is required to participate in the event, the person who claims the ticket must be over the age of 13 and be present with a valid photo ID. Trainers who aren’t able to get tickets will be able to discover and catch some of the Pokémon found at the Pokémon GO Safari Zones events throughout the city where the shopping centers are located.

In addition, new dates for the event taking place in Denmark, Czech Republic, Sweden, and The Netherlands have also been announced:

  • October 7, 2017
    • Fisketorvet—Copenhagen, Denmark
    • Centrum Černý Most—Prague, The Czech Republic
  • October 14, 2017
    • Mall of Scandinavia—Stockholm, Sweden
    • Stadshart Amstelveen—Amstelveen, The Netherlands

In related news, the first EX Raid Pass invitations has been sent out to participate at raids in Seattle and San Francisco – Taking place on September 7th from 6pm-8pm.

  2. Lowkey pressed ’cause I live in Bellevue, battle that gym regularly (literally live a few blocks away from it), and if it weren’t for the fact that I’m in Singapore for summer vacation I might’ve been able to get an EX Raid Pass invite lmao

    • It CAN be a good game. In it’s high’s it’s pretty fun actually. They just leave long stretches of lows where nothing is happening. What they need to continue to do is push out small stuff all the time like those events where certain Pokemon spawn more than other times. Plus maybe other small things too. there are too many months where it’s easy to fall off.

  11. I think with Talonflame they should have made his gale wings active as long as it had 50% hp or more.
    It would retain balance without destroying it’s ability. I hope they fix this.

In Japan, there’s a sense of, “We’re making this thing for you, and this is how we think this thing is better enjoyed.” This is why, in Splatoon, the maps rotate every couple of hours. And the modes change. “I bought this game. Why can’t I just enjoy this game the way I want?” That’s not how we think here. Yes, you did buy the game. But we made this game. And we’re pretty confident about how this game should be enjoyed. If you stick with us, and if you get past your initial resistance, you’re going to have the time of your life with this game. You’re really going to love it.

      I half agree and half don’t
      I mean honestly this feels like a shitty excuse to disregard their mistakes….
      But, as much as I hate to admit this, they aren’t entirely wrong…..
      Games seem to crash when they focus too much on listening to feedback and nothing else
      I mean look at friggin Insurgence the game’s a bloody mess
      I guess the key is finding the balance

      • But they are disregarding any ciritcism that could actually help them. They KEPT the Squid Sisters/Off The Hook intro that everybody hated after the first 2 times, they kept the shitty lobbies that didn’t let you leave, they kept not being able to switch weapons in the lobby and they kept the map rotation.

        All things basically everyone hated. They only reason Splatoon 2 is good is because the gameplay is just that good. It’s game play keeps it worth buying but these small things keep it from being as good as it could be

    • I mean did Ishihara say it to Nintendo straight up or did he just say he thought it would fail? I got the sense that he only thought it would fail, but didn’t necessarily say something to Nintendo…..then again I didn’t read the article entirely and only saw a snippet.

        • Ah didn’t get that last part of the sentence I guess. Well either way that says more about TPC rather than GF so it’s not like there would have been any doubt that main Pokemon games would be going to the Switch. GF seems hesitant, but that’s because it’s a relatively new road for them to travel. Ishihara being negative about the Switch is a bit odd in general.

    Pokemon is more interested in mobile games

    Pokemon thinks mobile games give a better gaming experience than consoles or handhelds

    Pokemon is so scared to take risks they made USUM instead of spending more time dedicated developing a Switch game

    Now they are going quiet on USUM

    Nintendo just buy GameFreak in its entirety already. They don’t know what they’re doing

          • You take (usually little) bad things that GF does and you act like all of their games just turned into trash. Stop being so pessimistic! Do a casual Sun/Moon playthrough, that’s a great reminder of how great GF is right now!

          • That’s literally the exact opposite of a reminder
            Play a fangame like Sage to really get the gist of what Pokemon should feel like. I literally lost my hope for the franchise for a bit until sage revived how amazing it felt

          • If the franchise has been that strong for 20 years, it doesn’t need giant changes, if 20 years from now the games will be as diffrent from USUM as USUM is from RBG almost everyone will be satisfied.

          • Strip away the fancy graphics and extraneous features and RBY and SuMo are the same game at its core.

            Meanwhile you play Zelda 1 and Ocarina of time and have a totally different experience.

            So many people stopped buying Pokémon because of how similar every game is. They need to change it up in some major way but GF is too scared to do that

          • And most people are fine with that. I personally think it’s a good thing, makes the franchise strong. It’s very diffrent from the changing Nintendo franchises. Both the Zelda and Mario changing way and the Pokemon very simmilar way are ways to build strong franchises.

          • It’s a “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” approach. The formula works fine. A CRT television probably works just fine too but the TV has been improved over the years and is a better product. Pokemon has stayed the same and is the same product.

            Pokemon sells well among its fans. Not as much outside it’s dedicated fan base with the exceptions being X and Y (first 3D games) and Sun and Moon (20th anniversary)

            The rest of people aren’t really interested. And what’s the number one reason why? It’s more of the same. Never changing.

          • You can say that about Nintendo as a whole. BotW is like XY of Zelda (It’s still amazing, just the Switch thing was a Big factor in the sales) Franchises like Mario/Zelda will always sell better than Pokemon. And face it, the fact that Mario has changed so much is mostly because It’s bigger than pokemon.

            No! You can not compare X and Y to Breath of the Wild, that is insane.

            When Pokémon came out, it WAS bigger than Mario.

            Red and Blue global sales was 31.37m while Mario 64 sold 11.89m globally

            Because it was new and different and amazing. And GameFreak wants that back. But those days are gone. We can’t keep doing what Red and blue did with new graphics and Pokémon.

            It has to change now

            2) All these causes are pretty invalid for destroying the world in 100
            2.a) AI urprising is a thing that will never happen, there are a lot of documentaries covering that
            2.b) WWIII is a thing that may happen but we haven’t had a major war between strong countries since almost a centurie, we’re pretty pacific rn believe it or not
            2.c) Global warning is a big issue but it can’t end the world from rn in 100 years

            3) Yeah we don’t talk about these problems very often, but, we still do. Like, why can’t we talk about the problems with GF in a pokemon website now? Just because we complain a lot? We don’t even complain as much.
