  1. Well it’s been nothing but crap lately news wise
my only hopes out of this boring month is the possibility of Corocoro leaking something to dusk the cobwebs off my privates
also the Gold and Silver VC which would be fun since everyone will be doing it (granted i’ve probably played GSC at least 3 times in the last 4 months but eh never hurts to go again)

and i’m considering stopping my SR for a Shiny Wimpod since i don’t have the Shiny Charm and horrendous luck so yeah….

also what important Switch games are coming up in September-October

    • lmao Yeah I restarted my HG version about a year ago in order to casually get the ! and ? Unown that I’m missing from my live ‘Dex in my down time. Haven’t touched it in a few months tho ’cause I don’t want Johto to be *too* fresh in my mind when I play GSC on Virtual Console.

Pokkén DX, Mario Odyssey, and Fire Emblem Warriors are the big first party games out for the Switch in September/October I believe.

  2. Looking for replacements for few fakemon names:
    Subzeworm-ideas: Snoworm, Swarmflake, Freezebait
    Venomeon-ideas: Baneon, Germeon, Harmeon
    Mineraleon-ideas: Mineon, Stoneon, Crysteon

    Opinions/Suggestions?

  3. Mega Melee does sound fun, considering it’s only restricted to the 43 Pokemon who can Mega Evolve. It’s also nice because there’s all the unpredicability as to who will be mega-evolving on a team.

  4. Since GS are being released as VGC, do you think that Celebi will be given an exclusive Z-move like Mew was with Genesis Supernova? I think they would, and that it will have a secondary effect of setting up grassy terrain.

  5. The original anime episodes look so poor compared to the newer seasons lol. Robotic animations and the art style is actually awful

  6. Anybody know CND? Guy was the very first person in the world to get the Switch, by waiting in front of the Nintendo NYC store for a MONTH. He vlogged the entire thing and you can watch it on his YT channel.

Also, this place is dead and we desperately need some USM news

    • Yeah, if it looks legit enough to the game, which isn’t that sophisticated when it comes to hack checking. I got a Shiny Moltres yesterday by WT, could’ve been legit but it’s by WT so highly doubtful.

  7. Gundam Versus is such a great game. It’s sad that the beta ends tomorrow, I just wanna play more of this game. I guess I’ll have to wait to buy it myself. Also, I’ve found 2 Gundams that I’ll main in this, Epyon and Wing Zero

  8. The GameInformer guys who visited GameFreak’s HQ have reason to believe that Pokémon Switch is going to be a gen 7 sequel (not remake) of Red and Blue. Honestly, i have no idea what to think of this. I guess it could be cool, if Alola characters like Lillie are included

    Reply
    • What makes them think it’ll be a gen 7 sequel? I Fell like if it’s anything it’ll be gen 8 and not a remake or continuation of anything. New gens sell WAY better than any other games so it makes more sense for them to start off on the Switch with a brand new region and new Pokemon. If it’s really a gen 7 continuation then maybe we really will get it next year…..If it was gen 8 then I could see them waiting til 2019, but another gen 7 game s=would be weird considering their current release format.

      Reply
      • One of them asked Masuda about Pokémon Switch and if its going to be in Kanto, and he just gave him a certain look & then laughed. Honestly it wouldnt surprise me, its a new platform for them so they might wanna play it safe with something thats already familiar to them

        Reply
        • I’d have no problem what so ever if they chose to go back to Kanto for whatever reason. I honestly think people having a problem with Kanto is silly. I’ll admit I would have liked them to stop putting Kanto over the regions of gens 6 and 7, but the region itself is still pretty cool. Part of the problem is that it’s barren and needs a new coat of paint. If they make it feel as lively as Alola then it could be some great fun. If this is true then I can definitely see whatever the Switch game is being what people want USUM to be. A game where we start in Alola and then jump to Kanto either part way through the story or in the post game……That said it really makes you wonder if USUM will actually be worth playing then…..*sigh*…..

          Reply
          • They also expect gen 8 to come in 2019, as the gap between new gens is usually around 3 years. Makes sense, Kanto sequel in 2018 and then gen 8 a year later?

          • Hmmmm, but two Switch games in only a year apart difference? That seems like a bit much. While I’m more than confident that GF can make a quality Switch Pokemon game I’m not sure they’re comfortable enough yet to be able to do two games back to back. The interviews made it sound like they’re still trying to wrap their heads around the system. Which makes sense seeing as they haven’t made a Pokemon game for what is basically a full console before. It’s doable, but for them yet? I’m not sure. We shall see tho. That said I’d be down with that idea. If we get on the Switch as soon as possible then I’ll be happy. Once they make the jump things will get easier. They just haven’t made a jump this big since the jump from the GBA to the DS.

      • To be fair if they didn’t throw in all the hints and nod towards Kanto in gens 6 and 7 people wouldn’t be complaining as much. The last time we actually went to Kanto in official fashion where it was the main region was over 10 years ago and then in HGSS it was an after thought. Since then they haven’t touched the main region and have only been hinting at it. If those hints didn’t exist then it would be a solid 7 years since they even mentioned it. It’s really not that big of a deal.

        Reply
        • OK WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING ITS AN AFTERTHOUGHT AN ENTIRE SECOND REGION IS NOT AN AFTERTHOUGHT IT HAS TO BE PLANNED OUT AND IMPLEMENTED OVER A LONG TIME

ESPECIALLY IN HGSS WHERE ITS A REMAKE SO THEY INCLUDE IT

          Reply
          • Ok maybe after thought isn’t the right phrase to use exactly, but the point is that just because they added it doesn’t mean they did anything with it. One of the biggest complaints about Kanto in GSC/HGSS is that it’s completely devoid of life. They basically set up an abandoned theme park and then left it at that. Sure there were some minor things here and there to do, but it’s not like they added an entire region with a brand new mini arc to pay. You basically arrive in Kanto and your only goal is to get strong enough to beat Red. Which is a major grind since they didn’t add any Pokemon at high enough levels in the wild to grind against properly and the trainer aren’t much better. Not saying it didn’t take work to put it in, but I am saying that they didn’t do anything particular with it. They might as well have just given us access to Mt Silver and called it a day.

    • Ehh, if they’re going to add Kanto then they better not only Improve the region greatly and more interesting, but to add an improved Johto as well. We’ve visited Kanto 3 times already and it’s starting to get old, so they should make at least the region much better than it was before.

    • Switch game is going to be gen 8.
Switch is going go to be a new start so it makes sense for it too be a new gen.
Kanto is terrible, usum will be the last gen 7 games, and as much as i like sinnoh the first games on switch aren’t going to be remakes.

  10. Well I think I know exactly what game I want to start my Switch (whenever I get one) on

    http://kirby.wikia.com/wiki/Kirby_for_Nintendo_Switch

So I probably will need to do a few things in the next few months to prep. for it
-Get a decent job and stockpile Money in my bank account till then
-Probably hold off on Yo-kai Watch 2 PS till Christmas
-Learn the exact date of release and Pre-order it first chance available
-Find a Decent spot at one of my home’s to put the Switch (My living room is holding my best spot for now
-Find a perfect day to buy the Switch, then choose the perfect Weekend to binge the game when released
-Then stockpile a little more for Pokémon Switch

  11. Continuing on with my comment below:

Would you prefer for Kalos to be in the post-game of USUM and have it more fleshed out along with the new Alola.

    Or:

You can return to the original Alola of SM through a portal from the legendary Pokemon and be able to see how all the characters changed, along with Lillie returning.

  15. I was thinking. If we do end up going back to Kanto then I think I may send Pokemon over to the game to play with rather than play with regular Kanto pokes. I’m kind of done playing with Kanto native mons. At least regular ones. I may send over a bunch of Alolan form Pokemon to play with. I’d like to play with A. Executor and A. Sandslash

        • Oh I looked it up, looks like it’s been made into Power Rangers Ninja Steel, we haven’t had it here yet but I think toys are out of it here which is weird.

          Reply
          • Yeah, Nick (or maybe Saban) is weird like that. I feel like Ninja Steel is improving, and it could turn out to be a good season (Not like Dino Thunder or RPM good tho). Anyways, it’s supposed to be a form for StarNinger (who might I add has a burger for a morpher in the Sentai, and can take selfies with it) called Super StarNinger. He has a similar form called Clothes Change (I think) where it’s the thing over his shoulders, as well as more stuff to make him look more like a cowboy.

          • Sometimes I wonder why they take out some of the more zany stuff from Sentai, PR has always had comedy elements and that’d be a good one. I guess if they are doing toy morphers they don’t think it’d sell?

          • The thing that bothers me more is when they squander potential from great Sentai series. I get that they’re 2 different things (sort of), but it just sucks that they can make a crappy Power Rangers series. The biggest offender is Super Megaforce since it was the 20th anniversary series for Power Rangers, and Gokaiger was such a great season (I saw the entirety of it), but thanks to a lot of things, it was just an awful. I don’t want to blame Tzachor entirely (he was the director of the show), but poor decisions were made on his part like keeping in the Sentai exclusive suits without any rhyme or reason, and it, along with other things, ultimately dragged a potentially amazing season of Power Rangers. Sorry if I didn’t make my point clear, I’m not the best at being thorough.

          • Another thing, they didn’t have Basco in Super Megaforce, who was a great antagonist in Gokaiger. I heard he was originally gonna be in the series, but idk if that’s true.

          • One of the things that can really ruin it for me is the actors they choose for some of the Power Rangers series, some are just really bad or unlikeable, I didn’t really like anyone in Mystic Force so didn’t really watch it. Removing/changing characters can also be a problem. Though they did replace the fat whale monster from being the main villain in it’s Sentai series with Ransik in Power Rangers Time Force, making him a henchman instead, and Ransik was one of the best villains of Power Rangers imo.

          • The problem with Megaforce’s characters is mainly Troy. His personality is flatter than paper and he’s more robotic than the actual robot on the team. He was apparently originally gonna be tied to Morphing Grid somehow, explaining why he dreamed of the Legendary War in the beginning, and the little Super Saiyan thing he did to beat Dark Robo Knight, but that never came to fruition. I don’t think they even mention the Morphing Grid in Megaforce at all. Correct me if I’m wrong about that

          • Idk since I didn’t watch much Megaforce either. If I don’t get on with the cast I tend not to watch it for long before I give up.

  18. I started watching an anime called Gamers. I’m on the 2nd episode, and in it, 2 of the main characters are playing Persona 4 Arena Ultimax in an arcade, and that just got me excited since I have it on PS3, and the game is amazing. They also show other Arc System Works games (even sneak in some PS4 games without directly showing what they are).

    • I am actually up-to-date for the show. It is definitely interesting for a romcom. It breaks the mold of other romcoms and makes a main character that is relatable to the target audience not only because he has a generic character but because he represents what a casual gamer is and shows that the type of gamers that we are is better understood on a gradient instead of in categories. A type of character usually ignored in favor for a portrayal of more hardcore gamers in media design I dig the multiple perspectives they show in order to best convey the attitudes and personalities of each of the characters. My only hang-up is that some of the reactions they can have are over-the-top. I hope that you find this show as enjoyable as I have been as of now.

I give it a whopping 4.5 out of 5 “Daes”

For your Prankster trouble you could try Monkeyfuzz’s trick and go for Mightyena with Taunt and Play Rough

That way Sableye is deemed useless and An easy target with Play Rough being Super Effective

    Reply
    • The only real issue there is how effective Mightyena is against anything else. Having a Dark type in general hurts Sableyes’ effectiveness as it can generally be taken down with a strong Neutral attack since it doesn’t have the best defenses and low HP. The reason it can be so effective is Prankster so the nerf to it really affects it.

Don’t let the events of these episode influence your perspective on screen time of members next season. If they include the content that I am thinking they will-I am reading the manga-Kirishima will have a very active role next season.

  22. So i decided to do some field testing for my run of Silver in 2 weeks and i discovered instead of nightmarishly leveling up a Zubat from the Dark cave, i could wait a little bit until i hit the Union cave and find a Level 9 one with TM 39 Swift which it can have a reliable source of damage instead of the pitiful leech life then its a short 4 levels until Bite which is a powerful move

    Reply
      • Earthen is the smart one 🙂
Because it would’ve taken literally hours to level a level 4 Zubat on Leech Life alone

But literally in B1 of Union Cave is the TM and the Zubat, catch it, slap on swift and you’re golden

But then you pretty much have to feed it every stat drink you come across and make it super happy because Crobat is just a very powerful

  31. WHY IS MY LOVE OF GOLISOPOD SUCH A CURSE
By now you all know how much Golisopod means to me, lethal movepool and excellent stats that make it such a powerhouse but that freaking fracking Emergency Exit
I hope they introduce a new held item that nullifies the holder’s ability,
Imagine the meta change if a held item like that could exist, but that means no leftovers healing but it would be worth it since Golisopod can live through heavy blows (even more so if EE wasn’t a factor) then I could spend my days buffing with SD and siphoning back health and have a way to priority

But they’re pretty much dead set on making my monstrous sea bug a joke

    Reply
      • Poor sweet stupid Butter Geek
No because it’s a total waste of a turn and you’re just gonna let them set up or just murder you when you bring him back out an 75% of any competitive run stealth rock and entry hazards which is bad for it since it will be switched out and the next time you bring it back in it’ll lose 25% on re-entry

Golisopod is capable of being such a deadly foe if you’re forced to lose your buffs because it can’t deal enough damage on its own if you choose the defensive build (which is beyond amazing)

Who cares I want to be to actually fight back

SO MANY INSTANCES WHERE I SURVIVED A POWERFUL BLOW AND LEECH LIFE COULDVE HELPED

The only way they could soften the blow is either make it exit when meeting the 25% health mark or that it can finish its turn before being forced out (unless it sucks back health and nullified the ability)

It’s a shame it took them so damn long to actually get fun things going in the game, because they lost a lot of people due to lack of content (and they STILL need trading and battling). But I definitely would recommend joining a facebook group around your area if you can, because it’s really fun going on raids with people! There are a bunch of older people in mine too, it’s funny that they all play xD
