Because water egg group also encapsulates aquatic creatures, many of which are water-type. Dragon has reptiles too, which is consistent, but Bug only had bugs and ‘pseudo-bugs’ (Drapion evolves from a Bug-type and is used by a Bug specialist)
They’re pretty different though, being in the water group doesn’t mean it’s water type it means that it lives in the water, bug group on the other hand

Gligar also not Bug, in Bug group exclusively.
Gligar already had two types that fit it (Trapinch at least should’ve had Bug like Skorupi did) and it isn’t solely based on a ‘bug’ (it’s a scorpion/bat, which tbh makes it odd that it’s not in the flying egg group)
That’s why I said ‘exclusively’. It does learn bug moves though. If anything I think Trapinch and Vibrava could be Ground/Bug and then maybe Flygon changes to be Ground/Dragon because of what it is. We do need a proper Bug/Ground line though.

I think if you use it on the original breed you have to use it on the swap. I’m not 100% if it’s necessary for the process, I don’t think it is but you can’t add it on the swap if it wasn’t on the original. I haven’t tried without because I like good IVs. If you need a Knot I have around 5 through Pick-up or I think you can buy it in the royale dome.
I’m gonna do some research to find out if I need it, but I’ll just leave it for now if I need one :0

Wobuffet can’t harm physical ghosts or special darks, Pyuku can use Breakneck Blitz and All-Out Pummelling as well as having all the status moves one could dream of
