Pokémon Mascot Showdown: Generation VII

Hey everybody, due to certain circumstances, we’re bringing you the last regional Mascot Showdown a little bit later! The winner of the last showdown is Xerneas with 53%.
Let’s move on to our last region: Alola. This brand new region is the startpoint for Generation VII – bringing incredible, new features like Trials, Z-Moves, the Battle Royal, Poké Rides, regional variants and so much more!

Pokémon Sun Version

Pokémon Sun featured Solgaleo, the Sunne Pokémon, on its cover. It resembles a more robust white lion design complete with a galaxy motif on its forehead. Its crownlike spikes and its tuffs of fur around its head resemble a sun. Among the people of Alola, it’s known as the beast that devours the sun and has therefore been honored as its emissary.

Solgaleo is the only known Pokémon that can learn the move Sunsteel Strike. Along with Lunala, its counterpart, it’s the only Legendary Pokémon that’s part of an evolutionary line. Not to mention it also has the highest HP-stat of all Steel-type Pokémon. Its name comes from ‘sol‘ (Latin for ‘sun’), ‘Galileo‘ (the man who proved that the Earth rotated around the sun) and ‘leo‘ (Latin for ‘lion’).

Pokémon Moon Version

Lunala, the Moone Pokémon, graced the cover of Pokémon Moon. It’s a large skeleton-like bat whose wings seem to resemble the moon, and are made of the night sky. Much like Solgaleo, it can travel between our dimension and the Ultra Space. Additionally, it’s called the beast that calls the moon, thus gaining the title “emissary of the moon” by the Alolan people.

Lunala‘s signature move is called Moongeist Beam. While Solgaleo is called the male evolution of Cosmog, Lunala is called the female one. Its name derives from ‘luna‘ (Latin for ‘moon’) and ‘ala‘ (Latin for ‘wing’).

Pokedex Entry: Armed with a top hat and a seemingly never fading grin, Fortunisp performs tricks of magic for all to see. It pulls things out of the hat and doesn’t seem to even know what will come out of it. Something different happens each time, making it an endless source of excitement. It is also proficient in battle by churning the fields of luck and using the hat to perform a vast array of attacks. It is said it gets along with Hoopa and any people who have a passion of entertaining.

Hat Trick: Secondary effects of its moves are doubled. Can use the move “Lucky Draw”

    Lucky Draw

    BP: 20
Description: Fortunisp reaches into its hat and pulls out one of ten effects

    A solar beam attack
A strange bubble making everything on the field, including itself, fall asleep
A Will-O-Wisp status effect that it randomly inflicts on any foe.
A card which it tosses at the foe with 70BP and ghost type
An explosive that causes itself damage if not attacked within three turns, acts like a substitute. Deals 90 Base damage to either side, fire type
Spills a bunch of Wishiwashi onto the field, 80Bp Water
Puts up the “Shadow Field Effect”
    A random Stat boost
A rose which does nothing, but it does look and smell nice.
A burst of energy OHKOing the foe (EXTREMELY rare, like 1% chance rare)

  3. For the DP remakes what is everyone choosing? I’m going to choose Empoleon just because I love penguins andd it just looks so cool. Plus, Torterra has a meh-typing and Infernape is overrated and I don’t like Fire-Fighting.

  4. If they don’t also give us the nostalgic “game-boy sound” type option for music in D/P remakes like they did in HGSS I’ll be pissed

  6. Yknow… I feel like everyone is nostalgia blinded in some way

  7. Ok so since this is turning into a legit rom hack, I need different starters. They will be received at level 10. They all need to counter eachother so like
    Fire-Water-Grass
    or
    Psychic-Dark-Fighting

    remember, gen 1-3 only!

  8. You’re stuck in a room with your least favourite Pokémon

What is the Pokémon and how do you react (can’t kill it)

    • There’s no guarantee I can get on the computer then but unless I die or something I’ll be on afterwards.

    • I’ll only party if there’l be actually good games releasing this year. I might buy the Switch if the new Mario, Mario Kart 8.5, Pokemon Stars come out this year. If not, I’m not buying it (at least until those are released).

        • I hope the Mario Kart 8.5 thing has a discount if you have bought the other version PLUS the two DLC packs. maybe 5, 10? Probably not a huge discount as that’d risk the thing, but at least have some sort of little surprise for us who bought all of MK8’s things and DLC. As well for the 3D Mario, I hope it comes out this year, we haven’t had a good Mario game since 2014. Mario Maker is where we make our own levels so it doesn’t count.

  9. I may as well accept the fact there’s a higher chance of Gen 4’s remakes being on Switch. Oh well, if they happen and they are on Switch, I’ll end up buying the console, there are good games releasing there. Too bad that’ll be the end of Pokemon Bank and its simplicity to transfer!
