Pokémon Mascot Showdown: Generation VII

Hey everybody, due to certain circumstances, we’re bringing you the last regional Mascot Showdown a little bit later! The winner of the last showdown is Xerneas with 53%.
Let’s move on to our last region: Alola. This brand new region is the startpoint for Generation VII – bringing incredible, new features like Trials, Z-Moves, the Battle Royal, Poké Rides, regional variants and so much more!

Pokémon Sun Version

Pokémon Sun featured Solgaleo, the Sunne Pokémon, on its cover. It resembles a more robust white lion design complete with a galaxy motif on its forehead. Its crownlike spikes and its tuffs of fur around its head resemble a sun. Among the people of Alola, it’s known as the beast that devours the sun and has therefore been honored as its emissary.

Solgaleo is the only known Pokémon that can learn the move Sunsteel Strike. Along with Lunala, its counterpart, it’s the only Legendary Pokémon that’s part of an evolutionary line. Not to mention it also has the highest HP-stat of all Steel-type Pokémon. Its name comes from ‘sol‘ (Latin for ‘sun’), ‘Galileo‘ (the man who proved that the Earth rotated around the sun) and ‘leo‘ (Latin for ‘lion’).

Pokémon Moon Version

Lunala, the Moone Pokémon, graced the cover of Pokémon Moon. It’s a large skeleton-like bat whose wings seem to resemble the moon, and are made of the night sky. Much like Solgaleo, it can travel between our dimension and the Ultra Space. Additionally, it’s called the beast that calls the moon, thus gaining the title “emissary of the moon” by the Alolan people.

Lunala‘s signature move is called Moongeist Beam. While Solgaleo is called the male evolution of Cosmog, Lunala is called the female one. Its name derives from ‘luna‘ (Latin for ‘moon’) and ‘ala‘ (Latin for ‘wing’).

  3. Yo procrastinating so have a Doggo Fakémon

Basis: Oil + Scottish Terrier (Referring to Scotland’s oil industry)

^Imagine these, but with greasy fur with a bright sheen, which can dispense and absorb oil. Also, the nose, eyes, inner ears and claws are all a toxic purple. Shiny is the exact same fur wise, but the sheen is a rainbow and the purple bits are now multiple colours (slowly changing like Alolan Muk). The puppy (Puptrid) is smaller, rounder, and has less fur. Its sheen is duller and its claws are a paler colour in both normal and shiny.

    Name: Puptrid (Pup + Putrid)
    Species: Oil Pokémon
    Type: Poison/Normal
    Ability: Poison Drain/Fur Coat
Poison Drain – Poison-Type moves heal 1/4th of this Pokémon’s health. Absorbing two layers of Toxic Spikes, Poison Fang or Toxic will heal 1/3rd of this Pokémon’s health.
    Evolves into Hirsutox with Friendship

Acid: Puptrid can absorb and disperse oil, due to its fur. Contrary to popular belief, this Pokémon is very clean and only unintentionally spills oil when badly startled.

Base: Puptrid only uses oil to nourish its coat, and can use a variety of different oils – even cooking oils! It is believed to of developed its oily fur to deter predators, before being domesticated.

    Name: Hirsutox (Hirsute + Tox)
    Species: Oil Pokémon
    Type: Poison/Normal
    Ability: Poison Drain/Fur Coat

Acid: Hirsutox produces whatever oil it primarily absorbs. Hirsutox can even absorb water if it cannot find any form of oil. Most domestic Hirsutox are fed on oils produced by a certain Pokémon, although some chefs let their Hirsutox consume cooking oils.

Base: Spill Response Hirsutox, as kind Pokémon and strong swimmers, are used to clean up oil spills. Interestingly, Hirsutox doesn’t consume oil, only using it to nourish its coat. It mostly eats canine food.

  4. Does anyone else do that thing where they look at an avatar and think its something else

Just asking because for the longest time I thought Earthen’s wasn’t a Rhyperior and I only just realised Golden_Monferno’s is in fact, a Monferno, not Dedede

So in my Rom Hack the player’s mother interupts you before you leave to give you the running shoes but for some reason I talked to her and it brought up the GAME CORNER MINIGAME

Couldn’t play it though. I have no coins. No idea why this happened

  6. Here it is… the third legendary of my region!

    Eqilistence
    The Perservance Pokemon
    Type: Ground/Psychic
Ability: Equilibrium (All stat changes are negated, and priority is also negated completely)
    Height: 13′ 08″
    Weight: 467 lbs
    Stats:
    (HP) 89
    (ATK) 78
    (DEF) 134
    (SP ATK) 90
    (SP DEF) 136
    (SPD) 103
    (BST) 630
Dex Entry: Born from a singularity in the very middle of time, this mysterious Pokemon is very much like Nadirth and Zernirmus. However, there are myths of it being the agent of a particular Sinnoh Legend, and will obey its orders. Other myths claim that Eqilistence will relentlessly pursue those who alter the timeline, then proceed to imprison them for the eternity of time. It believes that it is its mission to have time proposer with great serenity. If the timeline becomes too unstable, it will reveal the true, devastating power within.
Name Origin: Eqilistence is a combination of “equalizer”, “qilin” (a mythical chimera that appears from the passing or arrival of a ruler), and “existence”

  7. Oh and the signature moves to Eqilistence:

    Temporal Lock
    Type: Ground
    Power: 100 BP
    Accuracy: 97%
    PP: 10
    Category: Special
The user summons gigantic sand pillars from the floor and constricts the target. Will target Flying types and prevents opponents from fleeing. If the target is swapping out the turn this move is executed, it will deal super effective damage, no matter the type or ability it has.

    Blessing of the Present
    Type: Psychic
    Power: —
    Accuracy: 100%
    PP: 5
    Category: Status
The user surrounds itself in a golden aura, then proceeds to swap out. The next Pokemon sent out will have its highest attack stat boosted.

  8. Quick question but:
For my fan game, I’m trying to add in a second mythical Pokemon, yet I am not sure what it should be. Anyone have a good idea of what it should be?
