Pokémon Mascot Showdown: Generation VI

Greetings everyone, here is another Mascot Pokémon Showdown. The winner of last time is Zekrom with 35%!
Now it’s time for Kalos. Generation VI released in 2013 with a worldwide release for the first time. This generation contained just two main games, namely X and Y, and featured some great new stuff like the Fairy-typing, Mega Evolution and trainer customization.

Pokémon X Version

Pokémon X showcased Xerneas, the Life Pokémon. It’s the first Fairy-type Legendary and is a stag-like creature shaped like an X. The horns on its head contain the colors of the rainbow and can grant someone eternal life. When it’s at the end of its own life, it transforms into a tree and sleeps for 1000 years.

There is no other Pokémon known than Xerneas that can learn the move Geomancy, making it the only Legendary Mascot whose signature move is a status move. It has the same stat distribution as Yveltal, but has the highest base stat total and Attack stat of all non-Mega Evolved Fairy-type Pokémon. Its name may come from the letter ‘X‘ and ‘cervus‘ (Latin for ‘deer’).

Pokémon Y Version

Pokémon Y featured Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon. It is an avian Pokémon with the Dark/Flying type combo. Its wings and tail make the letter Y when fully extended. It has the power to absorb life energy. In contrast to Xerneas, Yveltal sucks all the life energy of every living thing around it when it is at the end of its life, creating a cocoon of itself so it can sleep for 1000 years.

Yveltal‘s signature move is called Oblivion Wing. It has the highest base HP stat of all Dark-type Pokémon and is actually also the only Dark-type Mascot Legendary Pokémon known yet. Its name possibly derives from the letter ‘Y‘, ‘yvel‘ (Middle English for ‘evil’) and ‘talon‘.

  1. Find Fans is ridiculous! I found someone wearing the exact same thing as me, and they said “Please look closer!”. What a stupid mission.

  2. I have a theory that Cresselia, Lunatone and Lunala are all connected. All are Psychic. So here’s the thing:

    – Cresselia is its alive form, the regular form. After it begins to die, it transforms into its cocoon form, aka Lunatone. Of course, most of its body sheds away and becomes dense, and turns into the shape of a crescent. Finally, after Lunatone explodes or shatters, its Death form comes out, Lunala, as its Psychic-GHOST, it could be a dead form of Cresselia.

  3. The Gen 4 remakes sound scary, especially the Champion. Either I’ll buy it and risk it, or I’ll pray that they dim it down, but not too much to the point it grinds the oldies’ gears. Just make Fairy an OP type against Cynthia and I’ll be fine.

  4. So basically what I learned……Everything I say is wrong and there’ll always be some sort of downer who’ll try to kick me down. What a controversial community!

    • Except you are objectivly wrong here. Its on par with Alola. You are making it out to be way harder than it is. Like you can do whatever you want in Pokemon, thats kinda the beauty of it but you didn’t really win the race if you teleport to the finish line

    • Oh no.
You are entitled to your opinion and you can say that DP is hard, some people suck at video games.

But you can’t deny facts now can you.

    • While I’m assuming you’re referencing a specific situation that I’m unaware of, in my experience with you, you state a lot of things that are opinions in an objective way. And then you frequently get upset if people don’t agree with you. And then make “jokes” about how you hope their stuff gets stolen.

Also it isn’t controversial for people to disagree with each other. I actually think this is by far one of the healthiest and welcoming online communities that’s ever been my pleasure to contribute to.

      • That’s what I get for being so interested in politics (something else) that it completely strained my sanity and opinion-taking part of my brain.

        • lol A lot of the people on here are into politics on some level. Some people focus on the stuff that more personally effects them. Others have discussed a wide variety of issues and in both cases we’ve successfully had a number of tame and respectful discussions. No need to make an excuse. We’re all human. We all make mistakes. I can tell you’re decently young and believe me I was such a butthead when I was young. Just be willing to admit to one’s own missteps and then you can start to grow.

    • Pokemon is a controversial game.
800 Pokemon * 1,000,000,000 players (or whatever) = a heck of a lot of opinions

PJ Rule #5: Be prepared to have someone argue against your opinion
(That number was arbitrary, the rules haven’t been written yet)

          • Oh ok. I feel like politics itself is an Ultra Beast dimension, they look like people but are much more crazy and wacko. Plus you’ll be dangerously harmed when affected by it. Like me.

        • Depends who you’re talking too.
          I’d say more since:
          A) There’s more Pokemon than there are Politicians per country
          B) We have Earthen
          C) Pokemon is more important
          D) This is a Pokemon site
          C) Some people genuinely don’t care about politics (especially politics of a different country), but everyone cares about Pokemon

  5. I kinda hate that ORAS shoves the town themes in with the credits and just kinda ruins the simple beauty of the credits theme. It shouldnt be a medely :/ Oh well, the original is still amazingly beautiful even in that GBA soundfont

    • It works when you’re viewing the city in the background since the player is supposed to be cycling home in the credits.

The background track is supposed to fit the game, they’re never intended to be taken away and listened too separately, or they would bundle the soundtrack on a CD with the game like many other games do.

    • ‘Hunt’…

Protip: hatch a bunch of Pokemon with the ‘Synchronise’ ability and different natures. Synchronise almost guarantees Pokemon in encounters will have the same nature and the Synchronise pokemon.

I have a box full of 25 Abra just for this purpose.

        • I originally bred 3 before fighting for Solgaleo, and then a day or two later I went nuts and just hatched tons in order to get the full set.

In the process I got a shiny Abra, so it was worth it. No idea how many I discarded though. I recommend Mt Hokulani for hatching.

      • um yes hunt. i have a synchro timid abra. its not guaranteed cuz not all i caught were timid. i think the majority weren’t timid. and i was going for the hidden power fire
