How to catch Togepi, Pichu & more in Pokémon GO!

There are some brand new Pokémon now in the mobile hit Pokémon GO (iOS/Android) for trainers to obtain, as well as a special holiday version of Pikachu starting today.

Pichu and Togepi, both introduced in Pokémon Gold & Silver, can now be hatched from eggs within the game. There are more secrets to discover though, as it seems Cleffa, Igglybuff, Tyrogue (is its evolution Hitmontop available?!), Elekid and Magby can also be hatched from eggs!

Holiday Pikachu can also be evolved into an equally festive Raichu too, so don’t stop training!

  1. Just caught an Adamant Totodile in a Lure Ball without even lowering its HP first! Day. Made.

Speaking of which, the introduction of Johto Pokémon is exciting! Might actually get me back into playing Pokémon Go.

  3. YES!!!!! I was able to trade one of my Kartana for a Lunala. Now I don’t have to trade away my Cosmoem away as a secondary Solgaleo! So happy about that. Now I have my last extra Katana out for a Cosmog. That’ll be a much harder sell. I doubt it’ll happen, but he’ll maybe I’ll get really lucky. Lol

  4. Currently sitting at 18 Pokemon away from completing the Alola Pokedex! By far the most difficult to get will be Cosmoem and Solgaleo -_- because literally every single time i have the Pokemon they’re looking for on the gts, it’s always traded away ;~;

          • It makes more sense to keep them and trade them to people you know or for things you really want.
For example if someone had a shiny you really wanted someday you could trade them one of the shinies you don’t care much about.

And yes, I’m incredibly cynical, my life experiences have taught me to be cynical.

          • Well yeah it may make more sense but maybe they dont really want anything? Or the thing they want wont be worth a shiny lapras that is in no way competitive? Or you just dont care enough? I’ve fallen into all three of those

          • Eh, I’d rather keep the shiny, shinies are pretty valueable. In all the time I’ve played Pokemon I’ve probably only acquired 20 shinies without trading if that, and most of those were in G6.

As for things being worth other things, they’re worth as much as people are willing to trade for them. For example, last night Ultron and various others expressed how much they think shiny Garchomps look like barf, but I’m sure there are people out there who would love a shiny Garchomp and would happily trade one of their own shinies for it.

Hence if I ever run into a person who desparately wants a shiny Smeargle I’m all set. I’d rather trade to someone who really wants one than to someone who doesn’t care about it and is just going to send it on to someone else or something.

          • Well I guess that’s just you then idk. I’d rather just wondertrade them because I like the thought of someone being pleasantly surprised by it and I will NEVER need it. If I need another shiny usually I will just hunt it myself

          • Or they could just think “meh, a shiny version of a Pokemon I don’t like” and get rid of it on WT again. Or worse, release it.

          • The thought of someone else possibly being happy from being to receive a nice random gift is a reward in itself for some people; not everyone is a cynic or scrooge like you or me (respectively)… heh heh heh.

          • Because there is a CHANCE someone else might get some use out of it. Maybe someone who doesn’t really care about competitive or just someone who THEY can trade it for something. Wondertrading has a chance of it reaching someone who wants it, releasing does not

          • Ok sure but that isn’t the point. The point is that thinking a shiny Lapras with terrible IVS is hacked makes no sense and is ridiculous to assume it is

          • If I ever get my hands on some Pokemon hacking equipment, I’m going to flood the WT with shiny Zigzagoons with 0 IVs just to prove a point.

        • I’m not suspicious. It didn’t have good IVs, and maybe they prefer the regular Lapras. I just finished breeding a good Stuffel and thought, “If I hatched a shiny, I’d probably give it away. I don’t like shiny Bewear.”

          • I appriciate that you’re trying to promote it, it’s a good chat, but it’s all up to opinion.

Either way, you’re welcome here anytime. 🙂

          • i appreciate that. i just want to make it clear there was no intention of an argument and i apologize if it seemed that way. i dont think it was fair to dismiss discord because obviously a regular on disqus will listen to a regular on disqus. i want people to at least give it a chance. and then to post the whole “really makes me want to join” when in the end you agreed with Lugalbanda. now you are dismissing the people who do actually use discord who were regulars on the chatango page and before that regulars here. most of the people carbinkle mentioned on chatango the other day, they are all on discord.

      • he meant the regulars to discord poke jungle server. we are not here to make anyone move. activity in the chatango occurred the other day and i didnt think people were aware of the move. that is all there is to it.

  9. I hate the way my schedule works. Some people I hear about having 4 or 5 classes per semester, but somehow I have a whopping 10 classes to deal with.

    Reply
      • Some high schools have block scheduling. 4 classes a day. But you have an “A” day with one set of classes and a “B” day another set. And you go back and forth. Some see this as prep for college which is how all the universities schedule classes. Some high schools are set up like grade schools where you have all your 7-8 classes in one day, everyday.

I’m assuming Ithme’s additional 2 classes are electives that switch off every other day.

        Reply
        • No clue what grade school or electives are…

          How long is a ‘class’?

Here it really varies. In secondary school classes were an hour long unless you had them back to back, every day had a different set of classes and it alternated every week between two different arrangements (week 1, week 2, week 1, week 2 etc).

In College it was entirely dependent on what course you were doing, they would have two groups running at different times and you’d be assigned to whatever fit better. The times and days of lessons tended to be quite varied. E.g. Thursday might have 3 lessons, Wednesday could have none, and Tuesday could have 1, a 4 hour gap, and then another. But at least it would be the same times every week unless the teacher had a meeting or something and had to shift the time along by anything up to half an hour, or cancel the lesson completely if no substitute were available (without any reimbursement to the students).

          Reply
          • Yea I realized after the fact that not all my terminology was going to translate.

Grade school is a more generic term for all grade levels 1st through 8th. Which is roughly ages 7 through 14. Electives are classes you choose to take from a list of available classes. They can range from theater to business.

In block scheduling classes are typically an hour and a half. In non-block it’s about 45 minutes.

          • Very different to our system.

Can’t remember what classes were like in primary school but they must have been either an hour or half an hour.
Primary school has ‘early years’ which is the introductory year and is very simple (at about age 4) then Year 1 and Year 2 (which are both in Key Stage 1), then Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 (which are in Key Stage 2).

Then secondary school goes from Year 7 to Year 11 (not sure how the key stages work there). You don’t get to pick any of the stuff you do until Year 9 where you have several choices:
-The choice of doing just one language or doing both* (see footnote).
-The choice of doing full time Religious Studies or Religious Studies alongside Geography or alongside History. No, there is no avoiding Religious Studies, you have to do them whether you want to or not. (I chose Geography and the waste of time that was Religious studies.)
-If you’re in top set maths whether you want to stay in top set and be made to do an after school lesson at least once a week or if you want to move to set 2 so you don’t have to stay behind. (I chose to drop to set 2, I never liked maths back then despite being good at it.)
-About two other subjects you specifically want to do, with a few restrictions on which combinations of subjects you can pick. I did triple science (all the sciences at a higher level than you would otherwise) and DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications).

It’s only when you reach college you get to pick everything you want to do unhindered. And there’s also Sixth Form that some schools have but I don’t know quite how that works. It’s sort of somewhere between Secondary and College. Again, all classes are in hour-long blocks in both of those (I think – it has been a while).

footnote: *unless you’re me and you tell the teachers you want to focus on one and they force you to do both because aparently you’re good at them and they care more about making themselves look good than they do about what you actually want to do.

          • Just make sure your ready for it. While in general you’ll spend a lot time less in the class room, your expected to spend just as much time outside of class working as you do inside, though it varies based on what your going into.

          • Really depends on the class. Some classes I barely spent any time doing work outside of class, where others I had to spend a lot of time working. Some highlights being my internship(about 200-300 hours), my studies(ranging from about 20-50 hours of work), and my thesis which is still probably the best paper I’ve ever written which took about 40 hours between the research before factoring in Course lectures that were applied to it.

          • The only things I did research on when we didn’t have coursework (i.e. graded homework) to do was programming and 3D modelling, but only because I geniunely enjoyed them.

And maybe once or twice when the teacher was terrible at explaining stuff or didn’t explain stuff.

I had a teacher who didn’t actually teach us anything after the first lesson, they just sat there in the corner on their computer and told us to work on the coursework and use the internet if we needed any help.

And another teacher was really scatter brained and clueless. She gave me a lowish mark, asked me to change something, I handed it back to her completely unchanged and she suddenly upped the grade as if it had magically changed.

It’s would be either Rock/Water or Ground/Water or Fire/Water, and it’s this craggy walking landmass with a gaping snaggletoothed mouth filled with water with a funnel atop its head (look up that Mario and Luigi dream team boss Mt Pajamaja), they constantly store water in their mouths and blast it at prey then swiftly devour it, the hungrier they get the more water they drink to attack with

    • Ground/Fighting

I just want Gen 8 to finally fill in all the type cracks and actually make a gigantic Pokemon roster with all the remaining unused type combos. none of this one or few types per Pokemon like the last two gens, because those lazy twats are really phoning it in with Pokemon (like notice nearly every Pokemon in sun and moon have unqiue abilities)

I want to see at least 5-6 Pokemon of each type and not including Legends and mythicals

      Reply
      • I’m sorry, but good designs (or at least designs that are up to a standard, as good is subjective) are more important than new type combos

And its probably easier to give unique abilities anyway, seeing as u can just make a new one if old ones don’t fit, or you can make a new fitting one much easier than a type

        Reply
        • sorry fairy this time I agree with earthen (wtf), there is no such thing as a good or bad design within this spectrum, because everyone likes different things, I know that some of my favourite pokemon for example are said to be poorly designed by the masses, yet I love them, it doesn’t make my opinion any more or less valid than theirs, gen 5 had just as many good pokemon as gen 7 and so on and so forth

          Reply
          • For one, I never mentioned Gen 5

Also, anyone with eyes will see that Pokémon are designed to a standard. You may not like it, but a thought process was put into it. Anyone who claims it is ‘poorly designed’ is either meaning ‘I don’t like the design’ or is trying to make the objective subjective.

And forcing a bunch of designs just to fulfill dual types would result in a total rush job.

          • I never said you mentioned gen 5, I only did because they have a huge number of pokemon in it. I also said they never have to rush, they could come up with just as many good pokemon in a short amount of time as a long time, they could also hire more designers if they really wanted to expand their creative pot as it were, for example there were quite a few gen 5 pokemon designed by a guy in the UK and they all have a unique twist. Pokemon is pokemon, they are not going to suddenly diminish their quality overnight, but if they don’t have your trust by now, that all their designs are fine then where does that leave us

          • I have no doubts of their creative skill and the quantity of Pokémon, my point is that rushing dual types just for the sake of dual types will effect objective quality

Less time means less concept time, less concept art time, less time to finalise the art.

And ‘just hire more people’ is

            A) expensive
            B) also potentially harmful, as a larger crew means more disconnect between all the designers

Gen V didn’t suffer because its Pokémon were made normally, not to fulfill dual types willy nilly. In fact, very little of its Pokémon were introduced as uniquely typed

  18. Random Question Assortment!

    1) Do you have multiple favourite types?
    2) Cats or dogs?
    3) Colour of the sky right now?
    4) Favourite movie?

          • How so? I’d say it does a fine job of balancing the three offensive types which only had two weaknesses, and buffing the two worst offense types in the game

Wouldn’t mind if another type resisted it though

          • It sounds fine on paper, trying to give Steel and Poison more offensive use and Nerfing three common offensive types.
But practically, it being weak to Poison and steel means it’s weak to only two ,fairly uncommon offensive types, and it resists and is immune to the three best offensive types in the game

It also has a random resistance to bug..

Make it weak.to ghost, problem solved

          • The thing is though, there’s only three non-Mega Fairies in Gen VI OU (and probably the Tapu this Gen, but they’re pretty much there because Terrain), so even if it seems OP on paper they’re clearly doing something to balance it, even if unintentionally

Wouldn’t mind the removal of the bug resistance, but a ghost weakness just feels a bit weird. They’re just so similar that a weakness either way would be weird.

Still annoyed at the severe lack of leveling up options. Seriously all I have is to battle the E4 over and over again.

          • TBF levelling up isn’t as important this Gen due to the move relearner buff

The option would be nice though, especially with the ridiculous level requiery for Hyper Training.

          • Battle Tree and Battle Royales don’t automatically lvl you to 50 though.

And you’ve still got some high lvl evolutions.

          • I can get the up to lvl 50, but it was much quicker last gen, and you could grind money at the same time. Battle Chateau is surely missed.

  19. Hmm…Kommo-o pairs quite well with Metagross.

Metagross covers Fairy, Psychic, Flying, Ice and Dragon weaknesses for Kommo-o.

Honestly it’s better doing extra curricular stuff that’s outside the box, and just simply knowing people (and being knowledgeable)

          • wow really? here it’s really important, it’s even more important than your grades
if you get 6s and you did everything next to your study you’ll get in easier than someone who got 9s and didn’t do anything else

          • I think it’s because so many people, especially in degree level jobs will have that on their CV that it’s not really something that will stick out for you personally.

That’s why I recommend extra curricular stuff outside the box. I definitely recommend getting involved in stuff while your at university (or College) as that will be more recent and is more likely to stick out to the employer.

          • Yeh I was involved in a lot of charity stuff at university. Just show employers you can organise events, make decisions, take charge of a situation e.t.c. They love that kind of stuff.

        • don’t that have teachers for that? or at the very least teachers assistants? are students really expected to be responsible for other students? that just sounds like a bad idea.

TAs in my school are usually to help kids with learning disabilities and behavioural issues rather than scold children 24/7

Its not like we’re the only ones giving them in trouble, but we lighten the load so they can actually do the thing they’re employed for

          • oh ok, here we have what they call duty teachers, which are basically just adults who are responsible for the kids when they are not in class, but once you hit high school they don’t need them any more because at least where I am, nothing ever happens and the older students don’t need to be supervised

          • That’s interesting, because at my school (and I think at most US universities), a TA is essentially an assistant. They also teach, but usually the less important stuff, direct the discussion classes, give quizzes, grade work, etc.

          • Well over here they’re called PSAs (pupil support assistants) so I guess it’s not a direct correlation? They’re the closest thing to it though

  28. So I’m trying to come up with a better name for my Poison/Psychic Gecko
The concept is that it itself is a tiny frail lizard Pokemon that defends itself by spraying a mist that causes intense hallucinations (An obvious relation to hallucinating salamanders)
It was originally called Psycko as in psychedelic and gecko but it clearly sounds like psycho

But the more I think about it I feel this concept is a tad controversial

These powerful Pokemon are actually very gentle and docile making them safe and reliable helpers, their mighty horns could mow down an entire forest in a single charge.

It is said to appear in front of people and pokemon moments before they drift out of consciousness in which it puts them in a hypnotic trance. The hypnotized beings tend to awaken entirely confused by any actions that have occurred under these trances and no physical proof of Lemuse’s presence is recorded around these events.

  31. I got an idea for a pseudo legendary:
(Name I don’t really known about, maybe some suggestions?)
    The Protector Pokemon
    Type: Ice/Fire
The result of combining elements of cold and hot, this Pokemon was used in ancient wars to defend villages and towns from assaults.

It’s design would be based on a mecha, specifically a Gundam. It would have wings on the back of its body that have large ice crystals as wings. The rest of its body would be ice for the most part, but also with lava/fire flowing through its body.

  33. Another Pokemon I have stored in, one of my personal favorites. Its entire concept was that it was a dragon that had its soul ripped from its body when it was a child and the soul became a pokemon. When it evolved, it tried to re-make its body but instead ended up becoming an unfinished mess (like Kyurem almost). Finally at the end, it ends up reunited with the body, and stronger than it would have been otherwise.

    Pokedex Number: 235

    Daemowyrm
    Classification: Spirit Serpent Pokemon
    Type: Ghost/Dragon
    Ability: Reality Rift
    Stats:
    HP: 90
    Attack: 50
    Defense: 80
    Special Attack: 150
    Special Defense: 100
    Speed: 130

Pokedex Entry: After finally reuniting with its body, the spirit of this pokemon was so strong that it absorbed its old body and created a new form, making a perfect harmony forming a spirit like but still tangible form. It is said to only respect people who are willing to overcome their own flaws to become something better, just like it has.

      • I haven’t finalized it but…
Basically it has shape very much resembling a serpenty wyrm dragon. It’s a dark purple dragon that is rather long of course and has a very wisp like body. It’s very hard to describe and I’m still thinking on it tbh

        Reply
        • Need to make sure it isn’t too similar to Giratina-O/ Pre-evo. Perhaps consider a lighter blue instead like Litwicks’ flame.
Is it a legend? Its’ stats are like it would be.

          Reply
          • It’s actually a pseudo. It’s a fair bit more slender than Giratina and he purple is sort of around Gengar levels.

    • I totally approve of this as a new Ghost/Dragon and as a pseudo legend! The dex entry really fits it and makes it an interesting turn on a Ghost type. And the evolution line is perfect.
10/10 would be a great Pokemon idea

My region used to share Arena Lords with the entirety of the region it is part of (just like Scotland as a country is part of its own country, and how it got its own government), but now has its own set of 10.

  42. People with fan game ideas: what’s your legendaries?

    Mine are

    Acid Mascot
    Electric/Poison
It has a huge amount of positive hydrogen ions in its body, which allows it to generate acid and ooze it. It’s said to punish those who try to destroy old traditions, as it hates change-it wants to settle into our world.

    Base Mascot
    Steel/Poison
It has a large amount of hydroxide ions in its body. It has basic properties, and destroys those who prevent change as this Pokémon needs constant new sources of energy in a desperate attempt to find the closest thing to its original food source.

They’re outright confirmed to be Ultra Beasts, being Ultra Dieties of Comfort and Ambition, both of which can be damaging to one’s life if they are overutilised.

I feel like I should explain that I may have a sudden disappearance from here within the next two weeks or so, and I owe you all an explanation. My parents think my grades are pretty bad, and they’re threatening to take away all electronics if I fail to get my grades up (OK, quick rant. My grades aren’t bad at all. I’m taking all advanced and AP courses, and I have mostly A-‘s and B+’s. But they have this stupid idea in their head that I’m a genius “gifted student” and that I should be getting all A+’s. It’s super stressful having them over my back to get perfect scores in advanced classes, I really wish they would just lay off a bit. It isn’t going to hurt me to get a single B). So if I make any sudden disappearnace within the next two weeks, that’s why. I just thought I’d explain why really quickly, because I know how much you’d all care if I was gone. 😛

Legends tell of a pokemon who’s very existence is beyond all logic. A pokemon that is completely dark but also light at the same time. A pokemon that in every way is illogical, and is not even truly comprehensible. It is a pokemon of the imagination but several instances have been recorded in which it has passed over…

They only have negative emotions, even if a trainer showers it with love and attention they still give the cold shoulder, they fight by lashing their arms at opponents which are laced with a very powerful toxin which causes even the most willful opponents to lose interest and give up

Now it becomes the very elitist Malisocrat a Fairy/Poison type
A very sullen Pokemon with a long dragging dress like cloth similar to a upside down rose with a dark purple and pink color, a thin body with the same long tentacle arms with a flowing fuzzy boa wrapped sound their arms and neck, it’s face is bored and gloomy with a long hooked nose that points upward and long red eyelashes, as for hair a spiral bun that resembles a skull

These Pokemon perfer quite dim forests where few dare to tread, they consider themselves the most important and if more show up they try to attacks until only one remain, their skin is soaking with poisons that even the faintest touch can be fatal

Am I the only one who wants a parody on this Ace Attorney comic where it’s now:

    Kukui: “Ahh, Malie City.”
Kukui: “Truly the greatest city in these islands of Alola”
Kukui: “I, for one, am proud to live in a region with as rich a history and culture as ours”

Sun: “Something about this seems…” “Off.”

Kukui: “Ha ha. don’t be ridiculous, Sun”
Kukui: “Now come, and let’s all enjoy a traditional Alolan meal around the traditional Alolan kotatsu.” (With Lillie in the background)
    Kukui: “Eat your malasadas, Sun”

  65. I now have massive respect for my Pichu now. So on the route before the Battle Tree, I was leveling up my EV trained Pichu so it could evolve into a Pikachu. I encountered a Pelipper along the way, and so I had my Decidueye go first (because of the EXP Share being on). The Pelipper lives a Leaf Blade, then procceds to one shot my Decidueye. Now I thought I was screwed because the only one left was Pichu.

With no other choice I send out my Pichu, very doubtful that it could take out the Pelipper. The Pelipper uses another Hurricane, which I thought would one shot Pichu. It survives with one HP thanks to Refresh, but gets confused in the process. Despite this, Pichu manages to pull off a Charge Beam. And then afterwards it evolves into Pikachu after leveling up from the experience

Like damn. My Pichu was very determined to evolve 0_0

  67. Ok, I need an opinion on the following cause I can’t make my mind up.
I bred 2 Jangmo-o, Rash nature. Both have 5 perfect IVs. The imperfect IV is different for the two of them.
    Jangmo-o 1 (Lv. 23): the imperfect IV is Sp. Def, which is a really low 6 or 8 (Hidden Power is Steel, so the calculator says it’s either 6 or 8);
Jangmo-o 2 (Lv. 22): the imperfect IV is Sp. Atk. It ranges from 24 to 30 (Hidden Power is Electric, so it can’t be more than 30 and has to be an even number). This one is kinda weird. With no EVs on Sp. Atk, the IV calculation ranges from 24-28. But if I give it 4 EVs (courtesy of Festival Plaza shop), its stat goes up 1 point and the calculator says it’s either 28 or 30.
So, what I want to know is which one do you guys think is the better one to keep?
[On one hand, I’m going with Rash so Sp.Def isn’t really my first concern, but I really don’t like such a low IV on the first Jangmo-o. On the other hand, not knowing exactly what the Sp, Atk IV of 2nd one is annoying. Even if it is at least 28, I still don’t feel good about it as my priority was having at least perfect ATK, Sp.Atk and Speed.]

    Reply
        • Well, if I were you, I redo all my mixed sweepers until 6iv except when I need hidden power…

But since this is Gen 7, you can fill up the missing stat with hyper training, so I’d just pick whatever has the better hidden power. I guess electric is okay for a hidden power.

          Reply
          • The thing that’s bothering me with that one is, like I said, even if the Sp. Atk IV is 28, while it is good, it’s not perfect, and I don’t know if, in practice, the difference in damage output will be very significant.

          • Well, I’m not really worried about the Hidden Power. I just stated their type for a better understanding of why I have those IV ranges. I did think about picking the first one and then Hyper Train that Sp. Def. Like, if I’m going to waste a Bottle Cap, it does feel more worthy increasing from 6-8 to 31 than from 28 to 31.

          • Well if you’re not worried about hidden power then there’s no real reason to pick one over the other since hyper training exists. But prior to getting hyper trained, I’d pick #2 still.

    1. New fossil Pokemon that are native to Alola and are based on a velociraptor (Rock/Poison-type 2-stage) and a stegosaurus (Rock/Ground-type 2-stage).
    2. There will be a third legendary Pokemon that will go with Solgaleo and Lunala (also evolves from Cosmog and Cosmoem)(4th if you count Necrozma).
    3. More new Pokemon, including a new legendary trio with a base stat total of 580 and two more new Mythical Pokemon.
    4. Drampa and Turtonator will get pre-evolutions.
    5. Minior, Pyukumuku, Comfey, and Komala will get evolutions.
    6. Pichu, Pikachu, Exeggcute, Cubone, Growlithe, and Arcanine will get Alolan forms.
    7. There will be Alolan forms of some Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos Pokemon.
    8. New Mega Evolutions

What Pokemon will be added to Pokemon Z (Generation 6.5)? Here is a list a list that might be useful:
    1. 37 more new Pokemon, including two new legendary trios with base stat totals of 580 and 600 respectively, 1 new Mythical Pokemon with a base stat distribution of 100 (BST of 600), and 4 new legendary Pokemon with Central, Coastal, Mountain, and Southern Kalos Pokedex number of 000.
    2. Southern Kalos Pokedex.
    3. A few new Mega Evolutions
    4. Zygarde 50% Forme, Zygarde 10% Forme, Zygarde Complete Forme, Zygarde Core, Zygarde Cell, and Ash-Greninja will make their appearance in Pokemon Z.

  74. Okay…….. If Pokemon were real, and we were all real life trainers, what would your Pokemon team currently be, where would you be from, and what would be your Pokemon goal?

I would currently be traveling through the Alola Islands with my best friend/rival. I would be on a quest to become the best Ice type trainer, but my team wouldn’t only be Ice types. Hearing that the Pokemon League is under construction I’d be training and traveling Alola to become one of the Elite 4’s there, Ice specialty. But new to the area I’m far from that day. I would originally be from Castellia City.

My current team would be Torracat, Samurott, Beartic, Glaceon, Alola Vulpix, and Crabominable.

    Reply
    • I’d like to travel Alola as well, since I like high temperatures. I’d like to aim to become an E4-trainer as well (looks like we’re pretty much the same haha), but I’d like to be a Dragon-type trainer. I’d be from Castelia or Opelucid. I am a trainer who stole a Type: Null from Aether Foundation to discover its secret and become an even stronger trainer. I am an actor and have starred in a film with Diantha.

My team would be Haxorus, Dragalge, Drampa, Garchomp, Dragonite and Silvally (dragon).

      Reply
    • My character would be from Alola (moving to Kalos) and would be a wandering chef specialising in Fairy and Poison-Types.

He wants to open a chain of venues (arenas, restaurants, etc) where trainers can really test their skill in tournaments, unsatisfied with the Gym System and League focusing on single types-which isn’t realistic in the tournament scene.

      His specialised team:

      Primarina
      Ribombee
      Slurpuff
      Salazzle
      Toxapex
      Dragalge

      Casual Team:

      Primarina
      Salazzle
      Lilligant
      Pikachu (Pikachunium Z)
      Furfrou (Dandy Trim)
      Froslass

        Dragonite
        Jellicent
        Decidueye
        Gengar
(too bad the only Dragon/Ghost is Giratina)
I’d be searching for Giratine to become the strongest trainer or something

          • It’s called Gloomour and into Malisocrat
Sullen moody Femalesque Fairy/Poison types that lash foes with poison soaked tentacle like limbs

Gloomour never show positive emotions and always give their trainers the cold shoulder and violently slap foes with their whip like arms that have a poisonous tip
Then Malisocrat think highly of themselves and even attack their own kind in order to stay atop the hierarchy and their skin secrets a fatal compound that even the faintest of touches could be lethal

          • Ooh, I’ve probably mentioned it before but I am a fan of Fae that push the boundaries of what Pokémon sets and more resemble the morally diverse myths of the past!

Fairy seal of approval for sure

          • Look I’m not just gonna string a toxic spitting fairy
I chose the whole fancy aristocracy theme because them wealthy elitists are a buncha bitches

And I felt that a Pokemon with a sullen beauty would fit the idea

    • As I often say my real life Trainersona has two incarnations
Me as Ian the Hot Blooded Veteran trainer
Or as Earthen the Hot blooded Master of Ground types

As with all current games my trainer travels to the “It” region to challenge the Pokemon league and add to his repertoire (yet somehow acquiring a starter Pokemon despite being in his early 20s)
My regular self often sends his current team to his home and fills up with natives but his walkabout team consists of

      Emboar his trusted first Pokemon
      Rhyperior his faithful powerhouse
Heracross a prized fighter whom he met in Johto
Aerodactyl his primary mode of transportation he revived from old Amber
Aggron one of his favorites from touring the Hoenn region
And lastly a Pangoro all the way from Kalos
(But in the sunshine of Alola he meets a cowardly Wimpod that evolved into the extremely powerful Golisopod)

But Earthen is fairy similar but sets out to be the greatest Ground type user and considers starting up a organization to acquire rare Pokemon

    • Just finished finals so I am able to comment on this wonderful question. I would be a trainer from the Sinnoh region that is aspiring to become the professor of that region. (Professor Rowan is a little bit advanced in age and someone will need to succeed his research on evolution). I am currently abroad at the Alola region to look at the endemic species of Pokémon there while improving myself as a trainer. There is much to this world to explore and the best way to experience it is first-hand like Kukui had. After Alola I will then traverse other regions in the world.

My team would consist: Alola Raichu, Infernape, Roserade, Wishiwashi, Mimikyu, and Mega Lopunny

      Reply
        • Yea I went with Mega Lopunny because I wanted to feel unique to other prominent trainers who had Megas in the game or anime, I am going to pursue the field of evolution so Mega Evolution kind of falls under that, and I have only been in Sinnoh and Alola so far so I am keeping my Pokémon region specific to that location and Gen-specific for what Megas are available to me. Also Mega Lopunny is pretty cool for a Mega evolution. So I apologize to Star ahead of time but Mega Lopunny just fits.

          • My fave is Mega Abomasnow… which would be on my team but I wanted to get a feel for more Alola Ice type Pokemon while on my journey. Plus moving to the Alola region would have meant I already have a handle on the Mega evolution and it’d be time to focus on Z Power. And I can’t ever get rid of Samurott (my very first Pokemon I picked from Professor Juniper) and Beartic. And Glaceon and I have been together forever so he’s a staple on my team as well.

    • I would live in Alola (moved from Unova) and i would be a traveller/explorer. My would be visiting every region(only the regions im interested) between gaseous and solid and discover every kind of trainer and every kind of Pocket Monsters

I wouldnt have a fixed team because i would try every Pocket Monster(only the ones i care) but i will always have Chandelure, my light fixture

  75. Guys remember how i was thinking about a Poison/Fairy Cat fakémon?

I’ve thought of adding the Cheshire Cat (disappearing and appearing, but this Fakemon would be able to switch between gaseous and solid to accomplish this) and Cait Sith (cat fairy) as aspects of it! 😮

    Reply
      • BRB actual away to look it up
Still fine for a fan idea that’ll likely never go anywhere tho

Also, it’s Poison/Fairy due to being a Fairy prankster based off of Cait Sith, and being poisonous gases. It’s said to be born from vengeful nature spirits when pollution infects their domain, and a spirit’s domain and the spirit itself are tightly connected

CAn see where you’re coming from though

        • Yeah because a while back I made a beautiful little fakemon based on a Mimic aka Treasureous a Steel and Dark type
And in case you’re not familiar with a Mimic, they are delightful demons that take the shape of nearly anything but most preference is treasure chests or lockboxes where a unknowing adventurer opens it they are rewarded with a gaping maw of teeth ready to feed,

For those of you with Pokémon OCs, a random trainer assortment!

    1) Would you have a Mega Accessory? What is it, and how did you get it (and the Key Stone if they aren’t obtained together).
    2) What Mega Stone would you have? How did you get it?
    3) Would you have a Z-Accesory? What is it, and how did you get it?
    4) What Z-Crystal(s) do you use? Where did you get it/them?
    5) Starter Pokémon and how you got it?
    6) Newest member of your team?
    7) What regions have they travelled to?
    8) What’s their favourite place in the whole Pokémon World?
    9) If they’re a type specialist, what type is it? If not, what’s their favourite type?

    • 1) Well, looking at my team below, I’d have a Garchompite I got from my grandpa who was a Dragon-type specialist as well. The Accessory is a ring that I got from his wife when I became 18. Garchomp, however, is not my main Pokémon (it’s just that it’s the only one that can mega evolve).
      2) Oops answered that already.
      3) It’s another stone in my ring.
      4) I’d have a Dragonium Z I use on my Haxorus.
      5) Empoleon, it’s a partner Pokémon I don’t use in Gym/E4-battles, but is one of my most precious Pokémon.
      6) Newest member is Silvally, whom I stole from Aether. It carries the Dragon Memory Disk.
      7) I come from Unova and travelled straight to Alola afterwards.
      8) I guess the Unovan Victory Road because they like to train, or my E4 chamber because of all the victories there.
      9) Dragon.
I guess you mean ‘you’ in all the ‘they’-questions

      2) Audinite, set in the middle. Altarianite, set on the other side. Inherited from parents-he has neither of these Pokémon, but wants to catch them.

      3) Same Z-Mega Band. Six Z-Crystals are between the two Mega Stones.

      4) Has all the Type Z-Crystals due to the Island Trials, with a Z-Crystal hunt after it. He alternates between the Primarium, Pikachunium (both gifts, just like in-game from the same NPCs), Waterium, Fairium, Firium, Poisonium, Grassium, Electrium, Normalium, Icium and Ghostium. He feels a variety is important to test trainers who come to his future establishments.

      5) He met a Popplio along the coasts of the Poni Wilds, and he took it back to the Seafolk Village and befriended it for a while before its mother (the leader of the troupe) saw it off. They’ve been inseparable since. Her name is Venus. She’s a performer type and a bit of a diva with a heart of gold.

      6) Newest member is a Furfrou he caught in Kalos, who is extremely proud and snobby.

      7) Alola and Kalos. Unova for a tourney for two weeks.

      8) Seafolk Village, his home.

      9) Fairy and Poison, which he specialises in in his establishment

    • While I’m currently in Alola and the focus there is Z Power, I wouldn’t show off my Mega training with Abomasnow, But I would have a Mega accessory while I did my time in Kalos. My accessory would be a bracelet but not the big clunky one in the games. It’d look more like a sleek watch. I received it from Wulfric training under him in the Kalos region. I’d have Abomasite which was given to me after I showed the bond I had with Abomasnow and my love for Ice types.

Being in Alola currently I’d have a Z Accessory now. I’d probably have the same type of accessory as the Mega accessory. Since I feel you dance for each one and it should be on your hand or wrist. I got mine from Kuikui when I arrived on Melemele. I would have Waterium Z (Samurott), Icium Z (Crabominable), Darkium Z (Glaceon, who knows a Dark type move), Ghostium Z (Beartic, who knows a Ghost type move), and Incinium Z (Torracat but not able to use yet). I would receive them from the various trails and people I meet on my journey.

My first starter Pokemon would be Oshawott (now a Samurott). I picked it from Professor Juniper when I started my adventure. Reaching the Alola region, Kuikui along with my Z Bracelet, gave me Litten (now Torracat) that I bonded with in his lab.

My newest member of the team would be Alola Vulpix, Being obsessed with Ice type Pokemon and seeing a different version of Vulpix that is Ice has me entranced and spellbound and full of excitement (Vulpix was my very first favorite Pokemon ever).

I’d start in Unova and traveled all over.

While I have a Fire/Dark and a Water type on my team, my forte would be Ice type, and that is also my favorite.

      • Its fine. No worries about it. I was more or less fired from my job today, that I really loved, as a measure to save money for the company. This apparently isn’t anything new for them. a few years back they fired like eight people for virtually no reason a week before Christmas. But in the end they more or less made up a reason that covered them well and didn’t sound bad for me when looking for another job, and my boss did say he went above and beyond to keep me in the company. So I’m probably going to be a little salty for awhile. Never a good feeling to be fired before the holiday.

I really can’t blame them though. It makes sense from a business perspective. It still just cuts a bit deep is all given I’ve never been warned of the reason why they terminated them and did kind of call them out on it. Their official reason was I wasn’t very good at sounding confident when engaging with people, which is kind of bull. The real reason is most likely money. No sense paying someone when my workload is virtually null and I’ve been mostly doing busywork for the last few weeks.

Ah well. Just saying sorry in advance if I sound rude or anything. I’m going to have a double rum a coke and bake some Christmas cookies.
