Greetings everyone, here is another Mascot Pokémon Showdown. The winner of last time is Zekrom with 35%!
Now it’s time for Kalos. Generation VI released in 2013 with a worldwide release for the first time. This generation contained just two main games, namely X and Y, and featured some great new stuff like the Fairy-typing, Mega Evolution and trainer customization.
Pokémon X Version
Pokémon X showcased Xerneas, the Life Pokémon. It’s the first Fairy-type Legendary and is a stag-like creature shaped like an X. The horns on its head contain the colors of the rainbow and can grant someone eternal life. When it’s at the end of its own life, it transforms into a tree and sleeps for 1000 years.
There is no other Pokémon known than Xerneas that can learn the move Geomancy, making it the only Legendary Mascot whose signature move is a status move. It has the same stat distribution as Yveltal, but has the highest base stat total and Attack stat of all non-Mega Evolved Fairy-type Pokémon. Its name may come from the letter ‘X‘ and ‘cervus‘ (Latin for ‘deer’).
Pokémon Y Version
Pokémon Y featured Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon. It is an 
avian Pokémon with the Dark/Flying type combo. Its wings and tail make the letter Y when fully extended. It has the power to absorb life energy. In contrast to Xerneas, Yveltal sucks all the life energy of every living thing around it when it is at the end of its life, creating a cocoon of itself so it can sleep for 1000 years.
Yveltal‘s signature move is called Oblivion Wing. It has the highest base HP stat of all Dark-type Pokémon and is actually also the only Dark-type Mascot Legendary Pokémon known yet. Its name possibly derives from the letter ‘Y‘, ‘yvel‘ (Middle English for ‘evil’) and ‘talon‘.

Mono-stage Madness: Pokémon with no evolutionary relatives only. All special Pokémon banned.
Middle Cup: Only Pokémon that evolve into and from something. For the bants, Cosmoem is allowed. Not that anyone would use it.
Final Evo 5: Only Pokémon that reach their last evolutionary stage before level 5 are allowed (non-evolvers are banned), the tourney will be held with no restrictions with all Pokémon expected to be Level 5
Sky Battle: Only Pokémon flying/floating in their model with the Flying-Type, Levitate or Wonder Guard are allowed. No Special Pokémon.
You’re Grounded: Only Pokémon that can be hit with Earthquake (how effective it is doesn’t matter) on the ground are allowed. No Special Pokémon.

Interesting set of cups. If I had an IV-trained team already I’d consider it but I started 11 days after everyone else so I’m still too far behind.
FE5 seems to only apply to trading, stones, location and friend evolvers if I’m not mistaken.

I’d say in Absol’s case it has less to do with it being “girly” and more so to do with other types no really matching up with it’s design well. Flying and fairy could easily be put on it and nobody would mind (except you of course lol), but any other type doesn’t seem to fit.

Milotic is siren and Mermaid themed. You know. The perfect Water/Fairy theme? Primarina? Tapu Fini?
Rapidash is a unicorn, giving it the ‘magic typing’ would be common sense, especially as Fairies and unicorns are commonly associated.

Glalie is an Oni and is found in the Fairy Egg Group. Also puts it on par with Froslass.
Delcatty is in the Fairy Egg Group, evolves by Moon Stone (like Clefable and Wigglytuff, moon and Fairy connect), and learns a good amount of Fairy moves
Roserade us in the Egg group and being based off of the hellebore is similar to changelings… Grass/Poison suits it better though.
Castform could be seen as a weather fairy of sorts, being in this egg group? Idk man I really don’t agree with this one.

We only have two moon legends (unless you count Darkrai) and only one was introduced post-fairy.
The fairy egg group shouldn’t mean fairy typing, just like how the mineral group contains exceptions like Voltorb, Porygon and Trubbish. Heck, Gligar and Trapinch are in the bug group.
Hellebores aren’t linked to fairies and many things shapeshift (e.g. Yokai, Dittos, Lurantises).

Having a post-game quest is good, but the Ultra Beasts themselves are awful. It’s like being presented with Garbador or Vanilluxe as a Legendary, if not worse.
Their designs are awful, only Nihilego and Pheremosa had good designs. They should have stuck to just one or two UBs and given them sensible designs.
I like them. They are kinda supposed to be overdesigned just like the Kyurem forms are supposed to be
It’s way worse than Kyurem though.
Kyurem was reasonable, Kyurem’s fusions were meh but still acceptable, UBs are retcon worthy.
UBs are from another dimension though they are supposed to look odd and overdesigned. They are borderlines between Pokemon and People
And that’s what makes them awful, they should have just been treated as regular Pokemon, but slightly more powerful instead of being turned into some weird mangle. They’d have been better off just introducing the manga’s burst forms or something if they wanted half-human half-pokemon, or making more Mewtwo-like Pokemon.

Are the missions the best way to grind FC? Overall it’s a pretty solid method, I was just wondering if there was a better way.
It’s good but it gets incredibly repetitive
Inverse Type Matchup Tests are the best. They may be a bit harder than the regular ones but they give more FC for less points
The trick is to see what the person “likes” before you talk to them (sorry if you knew that already).
I just think of it in terms of what the typing resists and just select that

I’ve been putting in ~1/2 the effort I normally do for dex completion and I’m already aware of everything up to Solgaleo & Lunala.
National dex is sorely missed.
As Pharap pointed out, it’s not in the Dex. It’s getting replaced with Galvy when the time comes tho!
I would recommend something speedy to deal with other fast threats just in case. Crobat or Alolan Raichu sound good. Maybe Jolly Mimikyu? Mimikyu would be a bit slower though but could provide nice type coverag

Even so, Rapid spinners/Defoggers and Scarfed Pokemon can easily break this team

Might want to give Torkoal Rapid Spin to deal with entry hazards so you can free up a slot on Tsareena for another move. They’ve got similar health anyway and you can teach Torkoal Rest to combat poison and restore health lost via entry hazards.

A speed of 102 means Garchomp has just enough speed to outspeed the bazillions of Other base 100 Pokémon. Regular Chomp can also hold an item.
Although Mega Chomp isn’t that bad, with sand and sticky web support, it can annihilate almost anything

Why is Diancie or at least its Mega stone not available in S/M? You can catch Carbink, and since the movie proves Diancie is their leader, shouldn’t there be at least an event of it, since Volcanion and Hoopa had ones recently, shouldn’t Diancie get at least a 2nd event? I really want its mega, and I can’t believe how stupid GF WAS!

a) It’s expensive
b) It would be tedious to switch the consoles attachment to the TV
c) Uses up a lot of space.
Consoles typically only last 4-6 years. It’s called ‘planned obsolescence’.
After a time console spec starts to lag behind competators and they have to design something new to keep up and keep the audience’s attention. Even PC gaming has that to a degree, though PC parts become obsolete at a slower rate and can be swapped out, unlike a console.
As for point B, depending on the ports it uses you might be able to use a multiplexer-like adaptor so you only have to flick a switch to change consoles. (I know amazon have been mistreating their staff recently, but here’s an example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002E50R02)
But would they really abandon such a great selling console?

Personally I hope that Cresselia and Lunala are breedable with each other and you can breed for Lunatones which a shiny chance of 1/300. Perfect way to unite the moons!

It’s possible, at least make a small scene happen when you transfer over a Cresselia, I know there’s some old man who wants a lunatone/solrock, but there needs to be a connecting story to connect Cresselia and Lunala! Why are they both linked to the moon?

You might as well say connect Clefable to Lunala or Lunatone to Cresselia. It has no logical basis. Aside from which Lunala is hinted to be from a different dimension, which presumably has a different moon or something anyway.
