[UPD] November CoroCoro Leaking

The November issue of Japanese comic CoroCoro has started to leak online! This issue brings news on the mysterious Type: Null as well as some additional details on Alolan Grimer. Check out the scans and translations below!

Scans

Translations

  • Confirms Ilima (pink haired person next to Hau) as the first Trial Captain
  • Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark-type.  It’s new look comes from eating Alolan garbage
  • Type: Null’s evolution is Shiruvadi – When Type: Null finds a trainer it trusts, it breaks its seal and becomes Shiruvadi.
  • Shiruvadi has a special item called Memory that gives it the power to be any type in conjunction with its ability, AR System. Also has a new attack called Multi Attack which changes its type based on the held item
  • Jangmo-o first evolves into Jarango, then into Jararanga
  • Both Jarango and Jararanga are Dragon/Fighting-type
  • The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will premiere with an hour long special on November 17th
  • Samson Oak is the principal of the school that Ash will enroll in

NOTE: There seems to be some understandable confusion on whether or not Shiruvadi is actually an evolution of Type:Null, or a forme change, or something else. The Japanese word for evolution, 進化 (しんか), is specifically used between the two. Showing that, despite the little aesthetic change and the special breaking the seal artwork, Shiruvadi is indeed Type:Null’s evolution.

  1. Why so many alolan forms are dark types ? And whats with the stupid beard ?? Why most pokemon in this gen are either too cute or too retard looking ?..

  2. It might just be me but, adding Dark to it seems a little lazy on this one, though I guess it makes sense, it keeps STAB from Poison moves but it could have made a cool Fire type

  3. According to Serebii, Jangmo-o evolves into Dragon/Fighting and Type: Null’s type depends on the item held, and it evolves!

  4. How many Alolan dark types we got now?

    Dark Mewoth
    Dark Grimer
    Dark Rattata
    Dark Raticate

Maybe Alolan muck and Persian too which makes it a total of 6 Pokémon.

It seems game freak is trying to give Kanto Pokémon cooler types.

  5. Love how I’m waking up just as the info is surfacing
This dragon/fighting evo of Jangmo-o could be promising, I’ve wanted one for so long (though Meinshao could’ve had the potential but clearly not)

    • A) We still don’t know the full Alola Pokedex so I wouldn’t speculate how many new ones we’re getting yet
      B) Alolan Forms (or regional variants) is a pretty ace gimmick. Gives some Pokemon more environment to work around

    • Agreed, not a big fan of these alolan forms, this just means that actual brand new pokes will be severely limited and the rest are just Alolan Variants

      • Sugimori said in an interview before that he want to limit the number of new pokemon because he is afraid that one day there will be too many pokemon and people wont ne able to remember them all

        • Then Sugimori is an idiot and needs to retire. it’s that simple. There’s no such thing as “too many Pokemon”, and that is the mindset the developers need to have.

Besides, they had no qualms about making them all catchable in Gen 6 alone. 4 games, 721 pokemon.

          • I’m pretty sure the only reasion we stil get decent looking pokemon is because of sugimori, the rest of the designers seems to suffer from an excessive megaman obsession that they put in their designs.

          • I feel like I must disagree. I’ve seen nothing particularly wrong with any new Pokemon design. But regardless, if Sugimori sticks to such a nonsense idea, he has no business staying in the business, since it means he’s clearly past it.

      • i don’t see how this could be the case. it’s backwards reasoning. if anything, alolan variants will pad out the dex after an original line up has been decided, and that’s what they’ve said they work the longest on.

    • Man they’re gonna make the number of new Pokémon that they want regardless of new features. It’s not a time constraint. It’s an actively made decision. They want less new Pokémon with each gen and take their time getting to 1000+.

      • It’s a time constraint.

More pokemon = more time designing + more time reviewing designs + more time making models + more time making textures + more time writing stats + more time animating + more time drawing official art

        • No duh. But we’re also not talking about an indie developer. They have all the financial resources they could ever need at their disposal. And we’re not talking about a AAA HD action game. And most of the assets are being recycled from XY/ORAS. They could add more if they wanted. But the number of new Pokémon is definitely having diminishing returns. The difference in sales between having 90 new Pokémon or 180 is very likely negligible at best. So they’re taking their sweet time.

  6. No need for showing Alolan Meowth while Alolan Persian not there….but the last thing I was expected that Type: Null have an evolution.
