Today’s post is about the Chinese Riddler who has recently teased information about the evolution of Salandit, one of the Pokémon revealed this summer. They have said that it will relate to one of four characters: a kyūbi (9-tailed fox), Cleopatra, the gorgons or a siren. The below image was included in his post:
In the description of Salandit, many fans noticed that it mentioned females being able to produce pheromones capable of attracting males of any species, Pokémon and human alike.

In addition they stated that we do not know everything about the Alolan starters, even after seeing their second evolutions and the leaked third stages. Mysterious!

I reeeeeeeally want salandit’s evo to be awesome. It’s probably one of my favorites from gen 7 so far. Along with Passimian.
It’s likely that Z-Form he detailed about the starters. I’m quite sure Salandit will have a split evolution depending on it’s gender. Both would likely act as thieves or bandits, basically using different means to steal. I just cannot wait for this Friday and Saturday. If someone hasn’t posted it yet; there is about to be some S/M news on Pokenchi. There is supposed to be gameplay and news on the anime. Yet, I don’t trust Pokenchi after all of the past disappointments.
Pokenchi is always full of shit. 90% of the time, they reveal nothing we weren’t already shown in the previous announcement by GF, and the times they do is very small wedges of info better left to be snipped out by the more dedicated info watchers.
Do we know if it is 100% a form we are talking about or is that what we speculate the riddler is mentioning.
Cuz I really don’t think that if he didn’t say it’s a form, that it’s going to be a form, I think it will be something minor.

We technically still could. Remember, leaks have hinted at Salandit having split gender evos. Fire/poison is just too perfect for a komodo dragon for them not to take that opportunity… and they are island-bound species, works perfect for the Alola region!
Why a lizard at all? It’s obviously based of a fire salamander… I would love it to be a big beefy japanese giant salamander based pokémon.
What if the starters’ secret is they can transform via Battle Bond or an alternate form of Battle Bond akin to Ash-Greninja? Wouldn’t surprise me. Hopefully they are alternate evolutions for each version of the game: Sun/Moon or night/day forms.

Yeah, this is what I’d like to know as well if the game gets datamined. My list of questions:
– Battle frontier or something similar (not just one facility)?
– Substantial post game?
– How many new pokes?
– Obscure evo methods (other than levels and stones)?

What do you mean? Of course I can choose, I’ll just ask someone on the forums who I trust.
I’m the same, I want to know the number of new pokémon, alolan forms, UBs, legendaries and mythicals, and if miracles are a thing new megas or new evos/prevos, as well as the potential existence of a substantial postgame, and maybe also what the deal with UBs is catching wise because I don’t like them, especially not as pokémon.
But I don’t actually want to know the new pokémon, the story details and all that, I want to discover it for myself. I just want to know what I’m in for, especially if it’s disappointment (which is highly possible considering GF’s past record), similar to X&Y where spoilers on the number of pokémon and lack of substantial postgame told me it wasn’t worth the effort not to get spoiled.
For weird evolution methods I kind of want to be left in the dark and see for myself though , I mean I’ll have the guide anyway in case I’m completely stumped.

I love riddles, that stimulate your mind by getting it thinking of the possibilities, I don’t understand why someone would dislike a riddle either, I mean if you don’t like it just ignore it but I see way too many people here getting angry about them, like chill people
But these aren’t riddles. Riddles provide enough information for the correct answer to be worked out without needing to be revealed. These vague, if correct, hints can only be guessed at and usually only make sense in hindsight. Sure a Pikachu covered in a sheet was an appropriate image, but it doesn’t provide enough information to reach the conclusion that Mimikyu was a ghost disguised as Pikachu. It just makes sense in hindsight.
This is because of the awful name he’s given. A better name would be the hinter.

What more do you want? They may not be riddles, but some of the original claims at trying to debunk the riddler was, “He only gives general ideas of what the Pokemon may be inspired from that anybody with a creative mind could come up with,” when in actuality the riddler is by far the most consistent leaker of Pokemon news up to this point. I think you guys want something along the lines of, “Here’s a rough sketch of the Pokemon, hopefully I don’t lose my job, bye!”
Except he isn’t leaking information, he’s only hinting at it. Sure, leaking information is hazardous to your job if you work for the company. But if you’re so afraid of getting fired for leaking information that you don’t actually leak any real information, you just vaguely hint at it, why bother? The reason people don’t like the vague hints is that while they might be fun to guess at, they don’t actually provide information. Other leakers outright state a theme for the pokemon (as the “Chinese leaker” stated with the archer, wrestler, siren leak for the starters) or provide typings or some other hard information. That’s why some folks don’t care for the teaser images this “riddler” reveals, they aren’t actually leaks. He may be consistent, but when you can only figure out what he meant after the official reveal, why bother? Might as well just wait for the official reveal, cause you didn’t have any better information before hand.
I understand and concur with your stance: the leaker is such an unfitting name when you only use vague hints and pictures to rile up discussion. They are only truly visible in hindsight and provide very little contextual clues to help base anything on what the Pokemon may be.

It promotes speculation and gives us hints about the games, yet people always complain when these articles come up and love it when we get direct leakers who tell you straightforward? Because it’s Boring. Not to you, but to many. The best we can do with this information is well Nothing. Maybe create a fakemon which will end up looking Nothing like the actual Pokemon. There’s no payoff. It’s pointless. They have all this information and they don’t even know how to use it properly, they may claim it’s to keep things interesting, but it’s really just to hold peoples attention They like to keep people talking about them self. Why do I not care? Maybe because I do not plan on using it, but also because It’s boring making us guess so much. Like.. what are we even supposed to guess? Was just about to post the same thing! TPCi, Gamefreak, and Nintendo must all have cottoned on years ago that new Pokémon information is always going to get leaked in one way or another. They have already been out-competing much of CoroCoro as of recent, and they might have decided that so many fans get their news from unofficial sources that perhaps the best PR tactic would be to pose, undercover, as one of those unofficial sources and hype up the games for the more dedicated fans whilst still hyping up those new to Pokémon with frequent official trailers.
They’ve recently implemented the idea of having demo versions. I feel they were testing the water for that with PMD: GTI and those limited X and Y demo events before deciding to use it for ORAS and then, crucially, for SM, where there will undoubtedly be a plethora of entirely new and unfamiliar mechanics and information.
They really do seem to be changing their marketing campaigns and advertising methods as of late, and so I don’t think it would necessarily be too *ahem* Farfetch’d for them to do something like this.
Then again, was it the Chinese Riddler who posted the final starter evolutions leak, because they started taking all those images down? That could be a really intricate method of throwing off fans, but I feel it would be unlikely that they would first post, then remove a leak like that. Especially as big as that…
…Unless, they were researching mimetic theory and information interchange so they could work out how to prevent the spread of leaks in the future… And the conspiracy continues! XD

You know what I miss? That transition episode in the anime from the previous generation to the new generation where Ash’s newer pokemon meet all of the pokemon he left at Oak’s. I loved seeing them play off of each other. Best Wishes deprived me of that and now I get the feeling so will XYZ.
At BW made it seem there was a moment like that, even if it didn’t show it. There’s that picture of Ash and his Pokemon after all. I too hope that we actually get to see his new Pokemon meet his old though. That was the one thing that made the DP Pokemon league so interesting as he was using a bunch of different Pokemon together that have never been on the same team before lol
You’re right, DP was the best series for me so far because he mixed and matched pokemon. In BW, it irritated me cause it was like a tease, and made Ash seem like a jerk to me.

I get so excited over all of the customization options. Dying clothes and hair, a bunch of new hair styles, the possibility of previous protagonist clothes, Im just so excited!
