Translations:
- NEW Rockruff’s evolution’s forms are version exclusive
- NEW Day Rugarugan’s signature move is called Accelerock (or Accel Rock) which is a priority move described as “a flashing strike”
- NEW Night Rugarugan’s signature move is Counter which is glamorized with the flavor text “a fierce strikeback”
- NEW It seems these are not simple day/night evolutions but are a reflection of the powers that reside in Alola; Solgaleo in Pokémon Sun (Midday form) and Lunaala in Pokémon Moon (Midnight form)
- Rockruff’s evolution is called Rugarugan (ルガルガン). CoroCoro is very vague on Rugarugan, though it appears that it may change form during day and night, and it is not simply a split evolution.
- Two new Ultra Beasts are revealed, UB02 Beauty (shown in Pokémon Moon) and UB02 Expansion (shown in Pokémon Sun)
- The new anime series is called Pokemon: Sun & Moon and will start in November. Since there is no league in the Alola Region Ash’s goal in this season will be to graduate from school.
- Next month’s issue will reveal the true strength of Type: Null

I am consistently burdened by the slowness that is the rock type but everyone knows that priority moves are notoriously weak
just look at how much use mamoswine has with ice shard. I’m sure rhyperior will appreciate a priority move and become much greater than it already is.

I can’t wait for this! While I’ve never been a huge fan of the anime I definitely plan to watch this.
It looks a spiritual succesor (not really a direct sequel) to Origins. Red and Blue both feature but the story expands beyond Kanto apparently.

ive been following XYZ, none of the problems that were wrong with the anime are even touched by it. sure, its a bit more action packed and epic, but that doesn’t excuse crap character development and poor pacing, not to mention needless filler.
XYZ hardly has any fillers lol. I can’t even think of 5 filler episodes. Maybe two tops
I have an episode list pulled up here on serebii and I can see like more than half of it is filler. anything that doesn’t have to do with league battles (including gyms obviously) or character development is filler. and no, any episode consisting of “helping new character that will never be shown again for this one episode” doesn’t count as development, its filler. anyways, I think we can both agree that this pokemon generations looks great!

I’m glad that the forms are version exclusive. XD It makes it so much easier to get both forms. (Or at least for me it does, because I’m planing on getting BOTH Sun and Moon. I’m starting with Moon first, so I’ll have to trade my Rockruff over to my Sun version to evolve it, but that’s O.K 😀 ) It would have been annoying to have to actually wait for night time to come to evolve it. That was so annoying when I was trying for an Umbreon, instead of an Espeon, because it is so much easier to get and Espeon than an Umbreon. 😛 I’m so excited to use this guy. ;D
It is annoying, not being version exclusive would have been cooler and it doesn’t take that long to wait for the night. Or you could just change your 3ds clock settings

You could ask others to evolve it for you. Perhaps you could offer to evolve theirs in your version.
Just had the thought that Lugarugan’s forms are partly based on Skoll and Hati? The two wolves in Norse myth said to be in constant pursuit of the Sun/Moon. I feel there surely has to have been some influence? Also these two wolves were highly speculated to be possible sun/moon box legends before we got the real ones.

Sons of Fenrir. Make of that what you will but I don’t think they will specifically be linked to Zygarde. What would be awesome is if there is an NPC seeking the box legend (and Eusine sorta character) and their ace is Lugarugan, version dependant.
I’m less happy with my choice of Moon but I don’t hate new Moon Rockruff just less happy and it may stay on my team (Unless Weavile is available cause then it is my main Pokemon)

So what do we think this means for the starters?
Might mean we don’t know if they are still related to Rockruff’s or they do not have a day or night Evo at all
It might mean that we would end up having Day evolutions in Sun and Night evolutions in Moon, and if so then we’ll might end up getting either Sun or Moon.
I thought the Pokemon only evolve during the day or night. Or in this game are they eternal day in Sun and Eternal Night in Moon.
It seems like to the Pokemon Company, their favorite games are always the second versions to each generation, such as Blue, Silver, Sapphire, Pearl, White, Black 2, Y and Moon.
I suppose this might have to do with cultural differences between the east and the west. The east likes the second versions more than the first, whilst in the west we like the first more than the second.
To be honest those are exactly the versions I get and this time I am getting moon and hopefully pooplio. Depending on its evo. Oh wait instead of blue I got red but everything else is the same

This is really interesting. Where did you learn the east likes the second version more, and why ?
If you look on Youtube, there were an experiment done on the streets with normal people from both western and eastern cultures, using shapes and colors.
Also if you look at the Pokemon games, anime and movies, most of the good pokemon and theme in story are always found with the second versions, such as N’s Reshiram, Mewtwo Y, Lugia, etc.
Wait if Nights Signature move is Counter, is it possible it’s Rock/Fighting?
I think by signature it just means the other version can’t learn it, which means other Pokémon might get the other move. I think it could even be Dark/Fighting losing Rock completely. A lot of Pokémon learn Counter though, Wobbufet being the prime example, probably more of a design fitting move for it IMO.
That would make sense cause Signature usually means unique to it, like Volt Tackle. I found the wording odd cause as you said, many learn Counter
Certain slow Rock types could also really use that priority move, perhaps even boosting their usage significantly. Hopefully the official site will update soon with the info on these ‘mon and word it properly.
What if Type:null is made to use the arceus plates and then is called type:One, type:two, type:three… Etc…?!?

I think it is more likely as people have speculated: Alolan forms will appear in Go.
Ive been thinking it would be the pokemon you transfer from pokemon go to sun/moon they would evolve to alolan forms.

I don’t think people have forgotten, just not much to be said about it until it’s out beyond speculating that it will contain a bit more information and a few Pokémon reveals. People seem to be fairly concentrated on these scans and information we have already, from what I’ve read.
So I level up my Rockruff then trade to my Freind which evolves it and gives it back! That could work! I’d rather it not be version exclusives tho! But thanks
