Translations:
- NEW Rockruff’s evolution’s forms are version exclusive
- NEW Day Rugarugan’s signature move is called Accelerock (or Accel Rock) which is a priority move described as “a flashing strike”
- NEW Night Rugarugan’s signature move is Counter which is glamorized with the flavor text “a fierce strikeback”
- NEW It seems these are not simple day/night evolutions but are a reflection of the powers that reside in Alola; Solgaleo in Pokémon Sun (Midday form) and Lunaala in Pokémon Moon (Midnight form)
- Rockruff’s evolution is called Rugarugan (ルガルガン). CoroCoro is very vague on Rugarugan, though it appears that it may change form during day and night, and it is not simply a split evolution.
- Two new Ultra Beasts are revealed, UB02 Beauty (shown in Pokémon Moon) and UB02 Expansion (shown in Pokémon Sun)
- The new anime series is called Pokemon: Sun & Moon and will start in November. Since there is no league in the Alola Region Ash’s goal in this season will be to graduate from school.
- Next month’s issue will reveal the true strength of Type: Null

I think now its pretty safe to assume that Aether created the Ultra Beasts. UB-02 is literally the Ultra Beast version of Lusamine.

I think that the leaked starter evolutions are the night equivalents, they have a more shady theme to them. Robin Hood, heel wrestler, and a siren.
Urgh I love the designs of Rockruff’s evo, the day looks so simple and elegant while the night one just looks crazy af, now we wait for the typings and I’ll have to decide which one I want on my team!
I did read that the secret that ‘Ruff and the starters shared might not be related, but idk how it was translated

Alternate evolutions for the starters are pretty much guaranteed at this point. Love the evolution for Rockruff! Definitely getting a Rock/Dark vibe from the Night Form.

Ok this is what I think about Ultra Beasts now:
Aether Foundation (specially Lusamine) used special technology to discover Pokemon from other dimensions (or check if they also exist in different dimensions) and accidently (or not) opened portals to the wrong one, a dimension inhabited by powerful creatures with bad intentions like UB’s that want to defeat and take all Pokemon to their dimension and experiment with them.
Sounds plausible.
It seems like Lusamine actually is UB-02, or is somehow very closely connected to it. Maybe UBs are like alternate-dimension Pokémon forms of people? It might be a way of allowing us to fight people with our pokémon, but not in a way that would push up the age rating of the games as they’re technically pokémon.
It’s like Legend of Korra Season 2.
