RUMOR: Pokémon Sun & Moon Include 103 New Pokémon

alola-dex-rumorRUMOR ALERT: The information contained in this post is based on speculation, not fact. Please treat it as such and do not interpret it is confirmed news.

A user on an anonymous image board has posted what purports to be the full Alolan Pokédex, excluding new “Alolan forms” of previously released Pokémon. If it is correct, there are 103 new Pokémon in the Alola region which would be 30 more new Pokémon than X & Y and roughly the same amount as Gold & Silver. There are, however, many evolution families listed which appear to have different forms for the same Pokémon.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Screw. The. Leakers. I will not be covering the names or any other information about this “leak” because there is too much risk considering the advanced information that has already made its way to the public from the Chinese rumors. We’re still too far away from the release of these games to ruin everything for fans. There’s a difference between enjoying speculation and rumors (which we do) and spoiling everything online (which they do). There is a line of what I think is fun pre-release hype and what is stupidly early to reveal, and I think this is one of those things that crosses that for me. Hope you guys understand and perhaps even agree. If we hadn’t gotten such credible leaks this year I’d have no qualms about posting it for dissection.

  1. Just because this rumored dex doesn’t have fossil Pokemon is not exactly “proof” of its fakeness. In fact, considering just how much the Pokemon of Alola seem to be based on the actual fauna and flora of Hawaii it makes perfect sense. No dinosaur fossils have ever been found on Hawaii because the volcanic activity responsible for the islands’ creation did not take place until AFTER the extinction of the dinosaurs.

TL;DR there are no fossil Pokemon because Hawaii irl did not for until after the dinosaurs’ extinction

          • I completely agree with you there! They’ve been trying to mimic the success of pikachu since the beginning. I think it’s really telling, almost poetic in fact, that the pokemon that comes closest actually is itself trying to be pikachu lol.

        • I dont really know how to explain it but its just the starters “various” secondary types and many other things that just seem illogical to me

          Reply
          • I didnt say they were impossible, i just said they seem illogical i mean whats the logic begind rowlett droping its flying type or getting random “various” types upon evolution

          • It mostly depends on how the pokemon is designed to fit the typing. As long as it can learn Flying moves it can work.

          • Even that doesn’t really matter. Mankey can learn Iron Tail.

            So that’s right… Tailless Primeape + Iron Tail = a thing.

What matters at this point is that how the evolution would be done make sense.

The “moves learned by any species in a line making sense with all of the designs in the line” ship has long since sailed.

          • While I understand your point, illogical does not mean or imply fake. Remoraid does evolve into Octilery for example.

          • Why would it? We’ve already been told the starters and Rockruff were special.

This leak, if true, just tells us how.

        • For me is the lack of volcanion… For some reason i think he will be on the alola dex….
          Dont know why…. Just do!

          • Volc’s already on the Kalos dex…

But if it showed up on the Alola dex, it’s the first time a mythical ever appears on two regional dexes.

          • I know…. You have all the reasons… I just can’t Shake off this feeling that this dex will be different!
I loved the idea of the various types…. For starters…. I dont know… If they break the mold ( =D ) with the starters they will have to deal with the rants “and charirad? And torterra? Bla bla bla”
For the dog i do believe that would be cool!

    • Shh i want my mosasaur and my ichtyosuar plz also wereny the japanese islands formed after the mesozoic era? If so it wouldnt make sense either for all the fossil pokemon in kanto sinnoh and hoenn

    • Hawai does have some extinct subfossil species though, like Stilt Owls and Moa-Nalo Goose-Ducks. There are multiple reasons why I think the list is fake (it’s way too fan-listy for a start), but in any case I’d be very surprised (and extremely angry) if we didn’t have new fossils. They wouldn’t likely at all be based on Hawaii’s fossils either, but there are countless other possibilities. There being few Hawaian fossils is no excuse, sacrificing the fossil tradition would be a creative loss, and besides game freak aren’t known to strive for perfectly echoing a real-life region’s geography and fauna. This is why it’s satisfying they’re doing a lot of it this time around. But, ever seen a Koala or a Red Panda in Hawaii?

      Reply
      • The vast majority of the Alolan Pokemon revealed so far are indeed based on actual Hawaiin fauna. However you do make a valid point. They could simply use fossils from another region of the world.

But that’s assuming they have fossils. I personally think everyone is just upset that there aren’t any and they want to stick “with tradition” even tho sun and moon have been bucking many much more prominent traditions of the series. Like gyms for instance.

        Reply
        • Hmm I would like to try and tally and see if indeed most are based around hawaiian fauna and flora. Needless to say those that are based upon local life/concepts are unusually common.
And yeah, people (myself included), like when things stick to the patterns, though I think most are happy at the breath of fresh air that the island challenge represents.
The fact the other typical pokémon patterns (early bird, mammal, bug, pika clone, and, in this list, cat line and pseudos) are being stuck to here makes dropping fossils seem weird. It would seem especially weird that a huge pool of potential concepts like the fossil pokémon slot would be dropped, yet bloody CAT pokémon would keep being produced. I’d also be especially surprised because game freak go deep when it comes to fossil inspiration, I mean it took them 4 gens to make dinosaurs the main fossils, and 6 gens to go for the obvious T-Rex/Sauropod duo, with all the others being species mostly famous among fossil fans rather than the public at large. Thus to me dropping fossil pokémon would be a confusingly useless and wasteful move.

As a budding palaeontologist I’d also feel extremely dissapointed and betrayed if we got no fossils this gen.
Fact is I think this list is fake, fossils being one of many reasons, but I could be wrong. I’d just be willing to bet by the time the game comes out we’ll have our fossil pokés.

          Reply
          • I feel you on certain things. I’m definitely tired of the cat Pokemon myself. But I also feel as though getting rid of certain mainstays forces them to think more outside the box. And others remain just because they are apart of the standard conventions or they are based on animals you can find everywhere. Hence the typical bird, rodent, and cat Pokemon.

          • But that’s the thing here, removing fossils removes possibilities! There are so many prehistoric creatures the pokémon franchise could take inspiration from. Removing them wouldn’t help them think outside the box, it’s just gonna limit their options! I agree pattern breaking can be very refreshing creatively, but I just can’t see how removing fossils would be conducive to that. :S If we indeed don’t get any I’d pin it down to lazyness/lack of good ideas (honestly those can sort of go hand in hand), or weird game freak logic haha.

Also because you made me curious I tallied Hawaiian inspiration, and out of new pokémon (not alola forms, cos in there it’s just 1 in 5 anyway, and it’s not like palms are endemic to hawaii), only 7 out of 31 represent hawaian culture or could be construed as representing hawaiian endemics or renowned introduced species. These are Tapu Koko, Oricorio, Comfey (culture), Popplio (hawaiian monk seal), Bruxish (reef triggerfish), Yungoos and Gumshoos (mongeese). If we dodgily stretch this to include introduced domesticated species or animals found in Hawaii as well as elsewhere, we get about 18/31. None of these are a crushing majority tbh, and the former is under a quarter (though still surprisingly high).

(Sorry I’m not actively trying to undermine your arguments at all, you just made me curious and well, you were biased by the unusual largely set of token endemics haha 😉 ) .

          • I commend your research and will concede to it lol. Well I stand corrected! I wouldn’t necessarily say it was out of laziness or lack of ideas if they don’t have them tho lol. gen 2 didn’t have any after all.

However that does get me thinking, what could they do for fossils this gen? I would like to see an anklyosaur and a mosasaur personally. Wbu?

          • If we’re sticking to patterns (hahaha), even gens get the mainstream dinosaurs (less interesting IMO, still awesome though), and odd gens get more offbeat stuff that you usually have to know fossils a bit to know about (which is why I’m particularly looking forward to this gen fossil wise). I’d love for us to get a set of cenozoic fossils as that’s never been done, but I’m thinking we’re probably gonna get another set of palaeozoic fossils this time around. I’m randomly gonna bet on a placoderm line and a fish-to-tetrapod line, just cos I feel them for some reason. Probs not gonna happen, but theropod and sauropod was one of my top bets for Gen V, so you never know lol.

      • “it’s way too fan-listy for a start”

Mega Gen 1 starters, Mega Charizard x 2 (one of which was a Dragon), Mega Mewtwo x 2.

        They’re clearly not above pandering.

        • Not usually at the level of a generation though. This has so many unused and strange/cool type combinations, as well as pokémon concepts often found on fan lists. Usually a generation contains a bunch of weird pokémon only Game Freak could come up with. There’s too much “this should be a pokémon” sounding stuff for me to believe it here…

  2. “Oricorio changes its form by sipping the nectar of certain flowers.” pretty sure this has something to do with all the forms

  3. if the starters final evolutions have multiple forms, why is it the pokedex doesn’t show them all? you’d think that if I could fit the whole eevee family, it could fit all the starter forms.

    Reply
  4. I just thought of something. The starters having 4 forms is huge news, so if the most trustworthy leak we have (Chinese one) doesn’t mention it, that is something going against this. Though that may have been overlooked, I’m just saying.

    • What bothers me the most about this list is actually something very small. Lumbird, the supposed Grass/Flying final evo of pikipek. It just doesn’t seem realistic of game freak to have a grass/flying starter and then make the regional bird also grass/flying…

      Reply
        • Moltres is legendary and vileplume, isn’t exactly obtainable early on seeing as you need a leaf stone to evolve it. Lumbird, as far as we know, would evolve in the standard leveling up way which could happen earlier on.

          Reply
          • I also actually discount the Venusaur and Vileplume thing because Gen 1 was just filled with Grass/Poison…

For something from another gen, there’s also Swampert and Barboach/Whiscash.

          • Swampert and Barboach are very far apart in the dex tho. Swampert is 260 while Barboach is 339. You don’t encounter Barboach for a good while in the game. My issue with Lumbird isn’t just that it shares its type with Rowlett, it’s that it shares its type with Rowlett and is extremely close to it in the dex implying it can be obtained very early on. The demo from E3 confirmed this.

          • Well assuming Pikipek is the regional bird and anything like the previous ones, it should have three evos, and evolve around level 35.

It will be a while, I’m guessing, before the similarities take place, and Rowlet might even lose its grass/flying as well.

Meanwhile by the time Barboarch can be fished, Marshtomp should be in its 30’s…

      • honestly lumbird was the one thing standing out to me too, but for different reasons, although the grass/flying did go through my mind as well

        Reply
    • Yeah I feel like it’s also probably a more complex situation than they are willing to make it. If the evolutions are dependent on which island you are on then how will they do them in future games? There was that other rumor that said there were two evos and they were dependent on the time of day. Since the day and night system are a fixed feature that one holds more water than this rumor.even still they could both turn out fake

      Reply
      • I kind of imagine a mix of the two. So say the evolutions are dependent on both the time of day but also the version. So in Sun for example you could have two evolutions for the starters based on day and night and in moon you have the other two. That’s very convoluted and silly but it might help explain the inconsistency with the Chinese leak

        Reply
        • Still doesn’t help in future games. Unless they continue to make each set of games have specific evos exclusive to them, which I’m not sure they’d do considering at that point it wouldn’t matter which game you got.

          Reply
    • I think it is worth noting that many rumors have contained some form of starter split evolution. Perhaps it is because people would want an alternative to the starter evolutions that we have seen, or it could be it that there is some truth in it.

      Reply
    • Ok, THIS IS SOMETHING! The Chinese leak said there MAY BE two final evolutions for the starters but even they were unsure about the situation. This doesn’t exactly go for or against the four multiple forms since the key word is unsure.

  5. Wow, Suicide Squad was really good. Really don’t know why it’s getting panned so bad. I guess this is unrelated so here’s a question!?

Do you want megas to return? Why or why not?

    Reply
    • I think they will because removing them would be a waste of good character design and they were a third of kalos’ new dex. We have also seen evidence for in in the form of the circular slot at the bottom of the Z bracelet.

      Reply
    • Sure why not? I don’t see any reason to get rid of them so early in their life span. I can’t imagine them getting rid of a feature that is so ensconced in VGC. I can see them in the future maybe modifying it so you don’t have to collect so many stones, but the basic feature will likely stick around for a while.

    • I personally do. I enjoy the mechanic and it just feels cool mega evolving at a crucial moment to snatch a victory lol.

But I don’t think mega evolution has a built in longevity. Regional variants offer a much more long term solution to the problem of keeping Pokemon from older generations relevant

      Reply
    • I do want megas to return because they were really unique, and tbh, now that they’re in theres no turning back 😛

      Reply
    • I’m on the fence about mega evolution. I like the ones that really helped some Pokemon become relevant (Mawile, Beedrill, Kangaskhan) but I don’t like the ones that were unneeded (Scizor, Gengar, Blaziken and Garchomp) If they return I hope it’s to help Pokemon that need them

      Reply
      • Got to admit, Gengar, Scizor and Garchomp – I prefer their non mega forms. Blaziken I don’t mind because it’s not too drastic. Though tbh I’ve always been 50:50 about Garchomp anyway, but its mega evo is just ‘nope’.

I like parts of mega Beedrill’s appearance, but I don’t like Mawile’s double head mouth. Kangaskahn doesn’t even look different, all that happens is it decides to put its child in danger (which also raises questions about whether or not the child is a separate pokemon or just a puppet).

I agree that they helped those 3 become more useful, but aside from Beedrill, I think a proper evolution for them would have been more useful. Beedrill could have got away with a stat boost and maybe a form change.

        Reply
    • I don’t, but I think they will.

I don’t really like megas. I like some of the forms but not the mechanic. Partly because it kills off too many possibly good evo lines, partly because I don’t like the idea of pokemon ‘unevolving’, partly because I don’t like the temporaryness, and partly because it makes pokemon feel like it’s trying to fit in with all the other mainstream “this isn’t even my final form” stuff.

  6. If anything, there are some really clever names within this list (Adorasite and Mightior, to name a few) but something seems off about it. For a leaker to just come out all of a sudden with a Pokedex list and no further information goes against our highly accurate Chinese leaks. Guess we have a few more days until this gets debunked.

    Reply
          • Yeah but the thing about mightior is it sounds like meteor and mightier put together so if minior does have an evolution I think that is what it’s name should be, although honestly in my opinion gamefreak really really dropped the ball with mimikkyu, like come on guys, there will never ever in the history of Pokemon ever be a name more perfectly set up for you than pikaboo was, ??

          • Meh I have to disagree, to me Minior and Mightior sound like really clever names for gamefreak to have used, and knowing that Minior is real I will be disappointed if they don’t then go with Mightior, it’s just a clever name in my opinion.

      • Lol I also thought up Mightior as a my predicted name for an evo (was kinda obvious really, not gonna give them too much credit for that haha), so I might be biased, but how is Grandior better? Am I missing a pun or something?

        Reply
    • I feel like it may have just added the Pokemon of the Chinese leak and is just taking some of the credibility for that. It has no real stuff going for it.

  7. ok disconnecting everything from the internet really sped up my update time and let me tell you… I could NOT find ANYTHING interesting to play on the PSN. almost everything I saw was “Gun toting white guy shooter” and just… ugh. I mean, I like shooters, but why is everything a shooter? I think I will spend my money on the eShop.

    • I don’t get it myself, but some people like it so good for them. This is the reason I chose Nintendo over other game companies though.

      Reply
      • what I don’t understand is, people like a friend of mine for example, he hates Nintendo. but he got a ps4 and an XBOX One. see, he says that since Nintendo’s games are made as family friendly, they are automatically bad, because “NO GUNZ N KILLING N STUFFZ!” but the ps4 and xbox one are pretty much the same console, especially now that xbox went ahead and killed off their flagship series.

        • Natural enemies I guess. One of the reasons 2015 sucked for me is that I went to a new school, where Pokemon and Nintendo are viewed as toddler trash. Everyone plays shoot em up games, which are fine for them, but they made fun of people who play Nintendo, and specifically Pokemon sadly. Just because it’s not a game where the object is to kill everyone doesn’t mean it’s not a good game.

          Reply
          • i make fun of people who play shooters (and act like its like the best thing since sliced bread) because almost all the games they play are pretty much exactly the same

          • lol, no no, i don’t think you get it, it was a joke, but tbh the kinds of people I am talking about won’t be hurt if you make fun of them for playing the shooters they play, they live in their own little bubble

          • Haha sorry about that. I’m just salty because I’ll be going to that school for a few more years and my most common hobby is considering something to be made fun of lol.

          • I’m not going to pick those battles anymore. It’s tough though, as my old friends, that I don’t really communicate with anymore, and I were constantly talking about games that we all had in common, Pokemon in particular, and it was great, but I go here, and it’s the complete opposite. But that’s a different discussion lol.

          • Ah, well at least you’re a nice person unlike them (or at least not as aggressive as me). Heh heh. Normally I’m an optimist but I just like to make snide remarks at some points, so I would’ve told them that. 🙂

At least half of my office department is into Pokemon GO, so it feels so alive even if it’s just GO…

          • It may be different come fall, because of GO, and that would be amazing. But yeah, I was mostly just flustered when it happened, so I didn’t have the time to consider a comeback.

          • Well at least you didn’t have to stoop to their level!

Meanwhile, I’m a grown man prancing around with a yellow Pikachu 3DS XL…

          • oh I’ve been there, people made fun of me for my interests for a while until they realized that it didn’t faze me and that I was actually a b*tch that could destroy them with a single word if I really wanted to. Also what Malco said true, whats so mature about shooters? lol honestly maturity is a concept they don’t understand if they say they play “mature games”

          • I doesn’t falter my love for Pokemon, but it can be difficult considering that I have to be there 10 hours a day 5 days a week.

          • you could always do what I did, I befriended all the popular girls in school so the rude dudes didn’t make fun of me or else they would have like every girl in school hating them

          • oh dang, I don’t think I would ever be able to handle a school of all boys, lol maybe but idk, good luck though I’m sure you’ll be fine

          • I don’t think he’s as aggressive as some of us secretly are on here, tbh I feel like there are a lot of nice people on here that wouldn’t hesitate to slap a ****** if they were trifling

          • Yay, someone got my reference 🙂 Although when I read your line, I read it in Aragog’s voice since he says that xD

          • It was supposed to be in Hermione’s but thats good too lol, I could not have hoped for better 😛

I will never not get a HP reference!

          • Dunno how long you have left but hang in there, by the end of high school hopefully they’ll have realised being mature is about accepting who you are and what you enjoy whatever others think. Failing that once in uni/college that should be the general sentiment, plus then you’re bound to find people with the same interests 🙂 .
And I don’t know your situation so this may not be useful advice ,but honestly if you can stay in contact with old friends, do, it’s worth it, seems especially so in your case, and technically at least is easy in this era of social media.

          • and the funny thing is, Nintendo gets their 1st online shooter perfect right off the bat. splatoon is one of the funnest games ive played in awhile.

        • More importantly there’s little innovation on games for those two consoles. Not saying there isn’t any at all of course but compared to Nintendo they might as well be Xerox factories lol.

The disrespect that people give Nintendo is both criminal and unwarranted. They’re an amazing company when it comes to making cool, innovative, but most importantly FUN games

          • I kinda wish we had a year where they released awesome games, like 2013 with The Last of Us and Bioshock: Infinite.

        • the console war tbh is really only between PS and Xbox, and tbh PS4 is winning, they are in the war because they have the same games, but PS has better exclusives (does xbox even have any anymore other than halo?) so i feel like most people should just do what I did and go with nintendo and PS and then you’ll never be left out lol

          Reply
          • yes that’s what I did too. and Microsoft seems kinda done with halo. they screwed up big time with halo 5: Guardians.

          • … I tried nuts n’ bolts. people defended it, so I gave it a shot. nope. nopenopenopenopex10000000. we have yooka-laylee to look forward to. (though the whole 5 worlds thing has me a bit worried.)

          • Wasn’t it Microsoft that told Rare not to make a collectation platformer (because “it’ll never sell” heh heh) so we got that car game instead of what would’ve been “Banjo-Threeie”?

          • well, if I’m not mistaken, rare isn’t even the same group as before. 11 (I could be wrong) original RARE members formed a new team “Playtonic Games” to remain faithful to their original visions.

          • Well regardless of whomever was at Rare, they could’ve made Banjo 3 or a new Conker if Microsoft wanted to… 😀

It won’t be as good as the ones by the (now) Playtonic guys, but at least it would’ve been still a platformer…

          • cant wait for yooka-laylee, I backed it so I could get it on the PS4 when it finally comes around, and I think I may cry 🙂

        • It does seem to be the case that GF is kind of a broken sieve this year, but I’m wondering if it isn’t just an impression. Tbf we did get the names of the games early, as well as the copyright leak, and those July pokémon a day early. But those were all out-of nowhere corporate slips. Has anything text-based turned out actually legit? As far as I know no current leaks are really certifiably confirmed apart from the starter evos… And the chinese leak seems pretty solid because of that, but it’s still not 100% really. After all saying there were no gyms could have been a lucky guess. All the rest seems to be be mostly bandwagonning for what I can see, including today’s leak.

Anyway all the fakes will be progressively blown away as reveals continue 🙂 .

          Reply
          • True true. Although didn’t the Chinese leaker get oricorio as well? Although that again could be a lucky guess.

          • Ah yes of course, I thought I was forgetting something, thanks 🙂 !! Ok so the chinese information being fake now boils down to them mixing in fake info, which is kind of a stretch, so we can probably call the pre-1st of August reveal info legit. If that means we’re getting a sea cucumber, a mushroom, a snowman etc, you certainly won’t see me complaining!!
Still doesn’t make this list any less unconfirmed though.

          • a lot of the stuff in this list could very well relate to the chinese leaker though (one of the pokemon in the list is clearly a sea cucumber) and the leaker did mention multiple evos for the starters. But you are correct, they are still unconfirmed. Lets hope the next info reveal will sway things one way or another.

          • Obviously a large number of pokémon and ideas on this list are from the chinese leaks as well as, the list clearly bandwagonning on all the other recent “leaks”, confirmed or not (at least if you take the point of view that it’s fake). As this list came out after all these leaks, containing the same information could mean it copied from them just as much as it could mean it’s confirming them.

In any case the second we get a new name we’ll be set 🙂 !

          • oh no I totally get that, but if we get the next bunch of pokemon reveals and all of them are on this list complete with typings and such I’m pretty much sold.

And that would mean in the end that the leaks were both right, but like, as of right now its all up in the air

          • Unless, y’know get the types for them. Because getting the Pokemon just confirms the Chinese leaks, getting the types gives both more credibility

  8. all this talk of various game companies has me curious. list your top 10 games of all time below! (or less if you don’t have 10)
10: Gotcha Force (look it up if you haven’t heard of it, its a total blast.)
    9: Super smash bros (series)
8: The Last of us (just a beautiful game)
7: Batman: Arkham knight (really put my favorite batman villain, scarecrow, into the spotlight, and did it perfectly)
6: Super Mario Maker (this game has the potential to be timeless. so much creativity is shown in this game)
5: Pokémon OR/AS (I know this one isn’t very popular, but R/S were my favorites in the series, and this game made characters that I thought were great in the originals look like blank slates in comparison)
4: Super Mario World (best Mario game hands down!)
3:Bioshock: Infinite (this one took me and didn’t let me go until the mind blowing finale)

    • 1) Ocarina of Time (I know a lot of people say this, but it’s just one of the greatest games ever made)
      2) Pokemon HG/SS (Practically perfect pokemon games)
      3) Halo 2 (Arbiter! Soundtrack! Story! Dual Wielding! Diverse levels! YEAH!)
      4) Skyrim (I remember the long wait for this and was not let down. So fun and amazing for its time. It still is)
      5) ORAS (Soaring + Secret Bases + Mauville City remodel + me completing national dex was an awesome experience)
      5) BW/BW2 (I honestly can’t rank them apart, I love them both equally. Great characters and story.)
      6) Platinum (Gen 4 is probably the best gen of pokemon overall and I have a very strong connection to the Sinnoh region. It holds a lot of memories for me)
      7) Oblivion (Used to scare the shit out of me to play, but it’s just so fun and breath taking for an RPG)
      8) Halo Reach (I love the story and the levels are all just very fun)
      9) Twilight Princess (The soundtrack, story, everything are really immersive)
      10) Lego Harry Potter (Some of the best Lego games in my opinion and I just love HP.)

Well I guess this is it!

      • cool I will have to try the lego harry potter games, ive never played a lego game before. out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?

        • Many thoughts. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever read it. I know someone on here recommended it but I have strong reservations. Reasons:
          1) She only co wrote
          2) Manuscript. I want to read a full book.
          3) I’ve heard the plot is awful
          4) Also heard characters don’t act like themselves
          5) I don’t want it to influence any opinion I have on the characters that I know and love from books 1-7

I’m really excited for Fantastic Beasts though.

          • but its amazing :c and tbh it doesn’t really change anything you would have thought about the original books and is fantastic writing

          • oh my dad liked them, and he’s pretty picky, one thing I would suggest though is to not go entirely on what you’ve heard, sometimes reviews and such can be very wrong and I would hate for you to miss out on something that could really resonate with you 🙂

          • I know, and I feel like a bad fan, but I guess if it was a full book I’d be more excited, bad fan reviews or not.

          • wait there was bad fan reviews? :O I was talking about reviews in general not just cursed child reviews, lol, i haven’t heard a bad thing about it yet, but I’m sure its out there, however it may come to be a full book at some point soon, tbh it already reads like a novel all they would have to do is make some minor tweaks and it would be a novel

          • oh, i didn’t get that vibe in the slightest… weird but, oh well, different strokes for different blokes right

    • I’m really interested in the starters honestly. it may allow me to use litten again. until I get confirmation these are legit though, I cant use that… thing it evolves into.

    • I’m divided because having no fossils sort of kills this flawless gen for me, and it’s just stupid how many complicated split evos there are for my tastes (that said I won’t complain about having other choices to evolve popplio and litten). However a lot of the new concepts and typings are fan favourites and look very promising (which is probably the main reason this looks fake to me).

  9. This is the best I’ve come up with, but from what the leak says and if true, then we can understand of which island will the Pokemon that has the special evolution can evolve it’s type from. It may also show us of which Type Captain lives on which island.

The only one typing for the starters, as well as a few elements can be characterised on the Island that focuses on their type.

Please tell me of what you think, and if there’s anything that I need to change, you let me know.

  10. The more times I read over the list the more plausible it seems. I mean take komala’s supposed evolution Dormala.

It combines the base of the French verb Dormir-to sleep-with the kuala. That amount of work put into the name and other names like it seem to be a bit much even for a dedicated troll leaker.

Also the fire/grass chili pepper line just reeks of Gamefreak logic when it comes to making a fire/grass Pokemon. Most fan creations for that type combo involve some bad*** looking grass monster that can breath fire or something. Not a chili pepper lol.

    • Dormala could actually just come from the English word dormant.
Also, according to Google: Dormant (of an animal) having normal physical functions suspended or slowed down for a period of time; in or as if in a deep sleep.
And, to my knowledge, I thought most people thought a Grass/Fire-type Pokémon would be inspired by a chili pepper or jalapeño pepper.

      • Oh! I didn’t think of that! That actually makes more sense given komala’s ability.

And I have always only seen other animal based fire grass fakemon. Although it is reasonable to think of a chili pepper as the most obvious candidate.

  11. Based on the typings and the theme of each island, I have come up with this graph to clearly show you of which island your pokemon will evolve a different type.

You may also notice that in the Japanese Pokemon website decoding for the Starter’s Final Typing done a while back, has decoded their Typing from the Ulaula (Red Island) Pokedex.
