RUMOR: Pokémon Sun & Moon Include 103 New Pokémon

alola-dex-rumorRUMOR ALERT: The information contained in this post is based on speculation, not fact. Please treat it as such and do not interpret it is confirmed news.

A user on an anonymous image board has posted what purports to be the full Alolan Pokédex, excluding new “Alolan forms” of previously released Pokémon. If it is correct, there are 103 new Pokémon in the Alola region which would be 30 more new Pokémon than X & Y and roughly the same amount as Gold & Silver. There are, however, many evolution families listed which appear to have different forms for the same Pokémon.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Screw. The. Leakers. I will not be covering the names or any other information about this “leak” because there is too much risk considering the advanced information that has already made its way to the public from the Chinese rumors. We’re still too far away from the release of these games to ruin everything for fans. There’s a difference between enjoying speculation and rumors (which we do) and spoiling everything online (which they do). There is a line of what I think is fun pre-release hype and what is stupidly early to reveal, and I think this is one of those things that crosses that for me. Hope you guys understand and perhaps even agree. If we hadn’t gotten such credible leaks this year I’d have no qualms about posting it for dissection.

  1. sorry I’m kinda late to the party. ive read the list, seems pretty cool. was anything else leaked, details and such, or was it just the list? I see moving’s featured comment, but cant find anything on these details.

  2. I just want to take a moment to say that GF is shaking up the meta game so much with this gen. I mean, look at the new abilities. Nearly all of them have competitive viability. Not to mention that Z moves will make things so much more balanced, because fairies won’t have as much presence. Not only that, but a lot of the new Pokemon will shake up the meta game as well. Look at oricorio. With the right stats, that thing will be a beast. It’ll have access to 4 different learnsets, and it’ll copy all the dance moves. And if the breeding cat is real, it’ll make things much more interesting. I really applaud GF, gen 7 meta game looks to be one of the best we’ve had yet.

  4. I suppose the Robinroot Grass/Flying, Beltigre Fire/Dark and Sirene Water/Fairy are their main ordinary types if they have to follow the traditional path of the Starters.

    • I haven’t played it but have heard great things. It’s a shame if it’s C&D’d because it’s the best Metroid game in a decade.

      • The thing nintendo should do is hire this guy and help him release an eshop version, i’m fine with the pc version going down if they do that.
also Pokemon Uranium 1.0 is out yesterday as well.

  6. The idea of various type depend on wat the island u evolving on is not logical at all, ppl forget about Darline/Darwisker they r Normal/Anything that didn’t work on this theory.

I prefer to go up with this: there form will change by specific types of Z-stones Like Dark, Fire, Ghost, poison Z-stones for Beltigre ….etc.

I just notice these starers r really not that colorful so the form didn’t change that much but it will be more colorful depend on his current type.

  7. Ok. Here’s something I wanted to point out. I still have hopes the the Chinese Leaks won’t be true, so….. look at this picture. Look at Popplio’s pose. Doesn’t it look like it’s won a fight? (Or at least did something skillful). I really hope I get my Water/Fighting Popplio, but honestly, the Popplio evo doesn’t bother me. Litten’s does. But if Popplio’s changes. Litten and Rowlet’s will too. Robinroot is my favorite out of the 3, but it could be better…

    • i mean, thats the whole concept of the pokemon games though is fighting so i don’t see how even if that was its “i just won a fight pose” would mean its fated to be water/fighting, but we still don’t know, hang in there green! we’ll get more info eventually 😛

      • Not even close
Popplio is a natural performer, they always turn a battle into a show, they show a need to look triumphant or to strike a pose to impress the audience

          • Or battles
Popplio love to battle with flashy moves, especially with their water balloons
            They just are creative battlers

        • ….? yeah but that doesn’t make it water/fighting…. ? if anything that points more to confirming the water/fairy leak

          • That means jack squat
You just fail to see that not every single effing emote is labeled a type, you’d probably assume Vigoroth would be fighting just for flailing its arms like a psycho

          • who are you trying to convince? me or you?
“You just fail to see that not every single effing emote is labeled a type”

ok then? but isn’t that what you were saying in your previous comment? my first comment was just saying that I don’t think its battle style makes it into a fighting type based on that, and you said I was wrong so I reinforced my opinion by saying if anything if its going to point to a type it would be fairy, not that it will be, because i still don’t think its fighting style equates to anything significant… so like, are you just looking for a fight here or are you just being an idiot?

        • I wouldnt believe them but since mallow is drawn in them then i just cant argue with facts even though i really wanted litten to be quadrepedal, why game freak, why is it so hard to make a starter stay quadrupedal these days

          Reply
          • tbh I believe the leaks but I also am taking these new various evolutions thing as a possible real leak as well, it seems that forms and evolutions are already a really big thing in these games so I wouldn’t see it being too much of a stretch, and if they are real, one of them is bound to be quadrupedal

          • I was cool when it was Typhlosion and Blaziken and Infernape, but there are literally no Quadruped Fire Type Starters

  8. So while doing some reading on Sun and Moon’s development and after hearing about the Pokemon NX rumor I thought of something potentially interesting.

Sun and Moon are not being directed my Junichi Masuda. I forget the guy’s name who is directing them but it’s his first outing which may account for the new ideas and direction of the games. But then that makes me wonder, if Masuda isn’t directing Sun and Moon then what IS he doing?

Sun and Moon are huge games so it would be kind of strange to hand over directing responsibilities to someone new on such a big project unless Masuda was directing a much larger project. That project potentially being the one rumored to be on NX. I think that rumor might have some credibility due to this…

I apologize for the wall of text lol, when my mind gets going I just have to write my ideas down!

  9. Baile: Robinroot will be Grass/Ground, Beltigre will be Fire, Sirene will be Water/Fighting
Pa’u: Robinroot will be Grass, Beltigre will be Fire/Poison, Sirene will be Water/Psychic,
(Island with Pom Pom Oricorio): Robinroot will be Grass/Electric, Beltigre will be Fire/Dark, Sirene will be Water
Sensu: Robinroot will be Grass/Flying, Beltigre will be Fire/Ghost, Sirene will be Water/Fairy

That’s the closest I’ve got for a guess to the evolution for the starters.
