RUMOR: Pokémon Sun & Moon Include 103 New Pokémon

alola-dex-rumorRUMOR ALERT: The information contained in this post is based on speculation, not fact. Please treat it as such and do not interpret it is confirmed news.

A user on an anonymous image board has posted what purports to be the full Alolan Pokédex, excluding new “Alolan forms” of previously released Pokémon. If it is correct, there are 103 new Pokémon in the Alola region which would be 30 more new Pokémon than X & Y and roughly the same amount as Gold & Silver. There are, however, many evolution families listed which appear to have different forms for the same Pokémon.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Screw. The. Leakers. I will not be covering the names or any other information about this “leak” because there is too much risk considering the advanced information that has already made its way to the public from the Chinese rumors. We’re still too far away from the release of these games to ruin everything for fans. There’s a difference between enjoying speculation and rumors (which we do) and spoiling everything online (which they do). There is a line of what I think is fun pre-release hype and what is stupidly early to reveal, and I think this is one of those things that crosses that for me. Hope you guys understand and perhaps even agree. If we hadn’t gotten such credible leaks this year I’d have no qualms about posting it for dissection.

  1. the names are pretty bad but then again generation 5 had some pretty bad names as well. This list does look believable though

  2. Ffs if this list is true, gen 7 is 100% my most favourite. I mean, Poison/Fairy, Dragon/Steel, Electric/Dark, Ground/Fighting, Dragon/Fighting? Too much hype for me to handle!

      • I want to see my freaking Bug/Dark Mosquito Pestuzz and Vamsipher
It would be the queen of HP Draining attacks with its signature ability Life Drainer which increases the damage done by HP Draining Moves by 30% and slap on a Big Root for even more,
And obviously a signature attack “Essence Thief”

          • Well think of a small bluish blackish round ball with a single pair of wings, and red eyes and a long thin proboscis
Males on the other hand are roughly the same but much shorter proboscis (Males don’t evolve)

Then finally a horrifyingly large insectoid creature with four bat like insect wings, a large orange abdomen and connected to a purple black furred body with large claws, the eyes have long antenna like eyelashes with a horrible scowl and the most scary of them all is the humongous harpoon like siphon on their face that is about 3 feet in length

“These Pokemon are malicious by nature, they hunt prey by sensing body heat and odors, they feed by draining the prey of all fluids then retreating back to the dark forests”

          • I like the idea. We need more bug. ground, ghost and poison types! Water should take a break for a little while and let some other types catch up 😛

          • Also I want my dang legendary trio dealing with the layers of the earth. Grass/Rock = Crust, Fire/Rock = Mantle and Steel/Rock = Inner/outer core

          • That we do, also in the bank I gots
            Smoldoom Fire/Poison
            My Emperor Butterfly line
            My Icy Silk Moth line
My phantom Pokemon line Spectini Ghostalker Greaper
A Electric/Dark Gremlin Snafflux (proud of that name)

          • I have over 120 fakemon ideas I’ve been creating for the last couple years. My problem is I’m terrible at coming up with names for stuff

  3. The names look cool and real, but I’ll have to wait to confirm any of them.
By the way, what is the Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon this generation?
And, one of the leaks said that Marshadow would have a very unique type combo. It is Fire/Dark?
And also, you can see that they can’t give a correct type for the final evolution of the starters. Don’t you think that’s strange?

  4. I don’t think Mageana would only be the event pokemon. Anyway, I can’t tell which ones would become version exclusives, probably Bruxish and Peskool?

  5. For those that aren’t aware, the suppose “leaker” provided some more clarification, as follows. (Remember this information is NOT confirmed)

    Robinroot: Grass/Flying, Grass, Grass/Ground, Grass/Electric

    Beltigre: Fire/Dark, Fire, Fire/Ghost, Fire/Poison

    Sirene: Water/Fairy, Water, Water/Fighting, Water/Psychic

    Weruff: Rock/Dark, Rock/Fighting, Rock/Steel, Rock/Fairy

    Porprise: Water/Ice, Water/Steel, Water/Fairy, Water/Dragon

Darline/Darwisker: the fabled breed cats. Normal/Anything.

Snohom/Snorror, Rugrilla, Delfin/Porprise, Fungkie/Hallucid, Cumbersum/Anenemie all got mentions in previous leaks as well.

Malshadow has some kind of type-shifting ability, but i don’t know any more on that at this time.

    • @moving:disqus, these don’t show how many Pokémon will have Alolan’s Forms, so we might get even more “new Pokémon” 😀

      Reply
        • That would be great! I love it because it makes the “capturing capsule monsters” even better!
          So many new Pokémon!
So many new forms for old Pokémon!
          And more Mega Evolutions!
Taking the competitive side out of the way, I like to fill the Pokédex with them!

          Reply
          • Yes, both my Y version and my OmegaRuby version have the Pokédex with the Mega Evoled forms and the Primal Reversions in the Pokédex. Instead of Gyarados, I have Mega Gyarados.
I also have Hoopa Unbound because it is my favourite form of the two!

    • Maybe this might tie in with the pictures that were leaked of the starters. Remember when everybody wondered why it said ‘Grass 3’ ‘Fire 3’ etc. – what if they were the third variation of the final starters?

      Reply
    • That many different versions for the starters? Give me a break. lol I could believe them having split evos like the other rumors suggests, but not this many. That’s ridiculous. lol

      Reply
    • I assume these are different forms, right? I like the idea of the Starters having multiple forms. If they are non-changeable, it gives you extra reasons to breed them. It also seems to reference the Alolan forms and how Evolution works. If it’s real, I wonder if the next Generations will also have this.

However, I’m now curious about what Kusaka and Yamamoto will do for them in Pokémon SPECIAL. Probably a scene where the main characters have to fight opponents that have the other forms, but that doesn’t change the fact he would still have to choose one Starter form over all others for the Dex Holders.
Kusaka could probably just use the pure type forms, but if these forms are really island-based like Richard Haslam suggested above, he would have to make them evolve really fast depending on which form he chooses.

Also, the anime writers. They would probably be forced to choose betwen the two late island forms, or come up with an excuse to have the team go back to an early island to evolve to that form, or invent an anime-only excuse to ignore the form rules, like a magical dimension or something like that (remember when all four Sawsbuck forms appeared at the same time?). Starters having multiple forms really adds a new paradigm to the main adaptations.

      • It seems that way. I also discussed with Kriffix how having more than one typing for evolution makes sense with the presence of Alolan forms in the games. Having more Pokémon evolve differently depending on their location and environments is an amazing idea and it makes sense with the starter Pokémon.

  6. I hope the Pseudolegendaries are the Electric/Dark types. I’m so tired of dragons being the pseudo. I loves tyranitar and metagross for changing it up

    Reply
      • But even then it wouldn’t be unique since greninja kecleon have a type shifting ability as well and with something like protean, any type they become isn’t unique since there has been at least 1 Pokemon with that type

        Reply
          • But the whole concept of the word shift means it goes from one thing to another without adding anything
So for example shifting from a water type to a fire type

Like protean is a type shifting ability but it doesn’t add the type since 3 types would be pretty op but instead replaces an old one

          • We don’t know if these are real or not but wording of a leaker may be wrong. I still think having a third type slot and being able to shift it to some or any type is also type-shifting.

        • Perhaps Marshadow could be a Ghost/Fighting? Ghost/Fighting because it would have the dark part in Ghost, and Fighting would go along with the theme of Mars since the roman god is the god of war. This has a high chance of not happening because Lunala is already Ghost though..

  7. Having seen another part of this rumor that discusses that each starter gets a new form/evo based on which island you are on(hence the 4 typings) makes me believe this is false

Why would gamefreak force us to hold our starter until possibly the last island for just one form? It would be confusing for fans to even know that exists especially if this rumor exists, which person would wait till the last island or second to last island to magically decide to evolve their starter at that time.

  8. Hmmm I can get behind form changes for the starters. Although I wonder if they will be fixed based on evolution conditions or whether we can freely change them with an item.

Also somethings tells me, Rockruff will be a forced tutorial capture at the beginning of the game.

  9. I think starters could definitely use something like this. I mean they’re extremely rare pokemon since you can’t find them in the wild and you’re given them yet they essentially don’t have anything unique about them. These different forms would be a pretty cool route to take.

  10. That’s interesting….
I want to see more alola forms… A psyduck more powerful….
    Maybe a gloom/vileplume…. Too
I really dont think salandit is a 2 form either…. Cool typings…. But it sounds a little bit fake….

  11. I hope they implement a hyper leveling trick
    XY had Chansey Audino safaris
    ORAS had Blissey Bases

Now what Earthen wants to see is either a double up on these existing tricks or a new exp cash cow

Now if I could have a go, level 100 Blissey Horde, but my libra alignment demands a major drawback to equalize such a powerful tool, either some hippie nutjob who fights you once a day

      • Hey, I mean if the leak is true, it could be based on a Diamondback Rattlesnake or another desert snake because of the “trance” part in the name.

        Reply
        • Then explain the Fairy
Because why the f*king $&@? would a effing snake be a muther bleeping fairy
Honestly how did you get freaking snake from Dustrance it’s just beyond comprehension trance? TRANCE? SNAKES DONT HAVE HYPNOTIC PROPERTIES

It’s just some glorified dust bunny by the name and given typing

          GOOD DAY SIR, HARUMPH

          Reply
          • Well I mean trance as in Caudal Luring, which basically is when a predator uses it’s tail movements to attract prey. For example, the Death Adder uses it’s tail like a worm so that it can attract its prey, and then strike at it’s prey.
I’m not quite sure how Fairy could be incorporated into the Pokemon, perhaps it’s the tail part so it can attract it’s prey. Ground could work perfectly in this situation because of potentially being based on a desert snake.
Now you are probably are right, and I do respect your opinion Earthen of it probably being a dust bunny. I just believed it could be an interesting route for Dustrance.

  12. So i guess if we get any new pokemon (maybe on the 12th) we will know for sure if this list is real, I love the typings of everything on the list, but tbh if there are various finals for the starters… holy cow is it going to be difficult to choose XD

  13. What interests me is #811 – #817.
Could this be our second generation that has two pseudo legendaries and the first to feature a pseudo legendary line that consists of more than three in the line with a possible split evolution?
Based off names, it seems like a gargoyle line and a dinosaur line.

    Reply
      • Yeah same here. Having two Pseudos would be amazing. And I can finally use a Dragon/Fighting type after so long :,D

        Reply
          • I think the Fighting/Dragon would have a king-like appearance with it looking like a gargoyle overall, and perhaps the Steel/Dragon one could look like a Gargoyle with armor/knight features due to the evolution line seems to be based on the medieval era. I think it would be awesome!

          • Yeah that’s what I thought too, but it turns out from Bulbapedia it seems to be based off a red-headed rock agama and a European Dragon. It’s a bummer that it isn’t a gargoyle…
