The Chinese Rumor & Leaked Starter Evolutions Confirmed True + MORE

With the latest Pokémon Sun & Moon information, we can now say that the rumors seem to be true. Not only the Poké Riding, but at least with the leaked Starter Evolutions we can clearly see one of the Trial Captains in the art, and the final evolution of Litten is probably holding two of its middle evolutions.

4chan Rumor

For now these are going to be de-confirmed since a number of Pokémon listed appear not to be getting an Alolan form

  • The anime’s Ash-Greninja will appear in the game
  • Alolan Rattata & Raticate are Dark-type
  • Alolan Butterfree is Bug/Psychic
  • Alolan Abra, Kadabra & Alakazam are Fighting-type
  • Alolan Nidoking & Nidoqueen are Poison/Fighting-type
  • Alolan Growlithe & Arcanine are Water-type
  • Alolan Doduo & Dodrio are Fighting/Flying-type
  • The previous versions of Pokémon which have taken on new forms will only be accessible by bringing in from older games
  • Furfrou gets new styles
  • New cat Pokémon varies in type and appearance based on breeding
  • There is a new snowman Pokémon line with two stages and it is Ice/Ghost
  • Not to get hopes up, but there may be two final evolutions for each starter

Chinese Rumor

  • There will be no traditional Gyms and no Pokémon League in Alola. Your goal is to actually create one. After you do, an Elite 4 will appear which are the leaders of each island
  • The final starter evolutions will be an Archer, a Wrestler and a Siren
  • The diamond stones will be collectible throughout the region and act similarly to Mega Stones but not exactly
  • New Pokémon based on a dolphin, sea cucumber, snowman, mushroom and a rugby monkey are there
  • Rockruff’s evolution is a Werewolf
  • Mashadow, another copyrighted Pokémon name, has a very unique type combo

  1. I wonder if that certain guy that I blocked and whose comments I can’t read is raging already. Heh heh heh. (Not Earthen, he’s too cool to block.)

    • I haven’t seen him in a long while but I’m sure when he does come on he’ll be raging (not sure if I blocked him or not actually so maybe he is here)

        • Same 🙂
I see the value in all opinions and viewpoints, even if it might get a bit too much. Plus, with most people, you can communicate with them and have a good time. :3

          • They could be really nice though :/ They just really didn’t like the news. If they came back I just hope they would be in a better mood :3

          • I was, we fought intensely and it was horrible. There were times they were nice though and if they were willing to act like they did then I would welcome them back.

          • I regret participating in the fight, but it’s too late. But it wasn’t that he just disliked he news, it was more than that.

          • He literally said at one point though that he thinks we all deserve to die and pretty much wishes he could be the one to do it, so I wouldn’t give him that benefit of the doubt…

          • I am not giving them the benifit of the doubt, I have actually had pleasant conversations with them. They were horrible to all of us, but if they could be more respectful I wouldn’t exclude them.

          • I can understand why 🙂 he did say some very negative things towards me and other people.
But I did have a few good convos with him, so I can forgive him slightly 🙂

          • I’m not trying to be mean, but he clearly has issues that needed to be worked out. If he is all over that (I know it’s not easy to get past but it’s not impossible) then he’s welcome back (at least in my eyes).

          • Anyone should always be welcome here. He had different opinions and a different temperament, but this is a community where everyone is welcome. And I think it may be a bit rude to be discussing him in such a way; you never know if he’s reading these comments anonymously. 🙂

          • True, but as you said, anyone should be welcome, and the way he acted was not welcoming to anyone. I’ll leave it at that, you’re right, we shouldn’t be discussing this.

          • Well at some point sometimes a person is just too negative and all they do is spout expletives and threats without even trying to convince people of anything. 🙂

I am an optimist but I decided that his posts are excessively unhealthy. Kekeke.

          • That’s true, and whenever it did, I just didn’t read them/ignored them. I still had some nice convos so it wasn’t worth blocking anyone, in my eyes.

    • Haven’t seen him/her, but let’s keep this out of here. Respect others as you would want to even if others don’t show it to you. Not trying to start anything, but I also don’t want him/her to come in and be triggered with the talking behind his/her back

      • Well I’m sorry that I don’t have a limitless tolerance for all kinds of people and negativity.

Maybe you’re a better person than I am, and you’re good at psychotherapy, so more power to you.

        Reply
        • I’m not mad at you and I get where you’re coming from. I’ve butted heads with him/her before. Just try not to let the negativity get the better of you. You’re a nice person and I respect your feelings and opinion, otherwise I wouldn’t have responded if I didn’t care

          Reply
      • if you had seen some of the things that he said to members of the community, some of which were being quite kind to him I doubt you would think that way, I’m all for respecting others, but this guy literally, and I mean literally wishes physical harm upon others, among other things that are bad even in internet terms

        Reply
          • no I get it, I really do, two wrongs do not make a right, I guess I just had a limit and the person totally destroyed it and disrespected some amazing people on this site. I will try not to talk about them when they are not present though, it is something I am working on, trying to work to better myself and rise above hate, but its difficult sometimes

          • I am proud of you. If you need any advice I am here. I understand that what was being said was totally wrong, but let’s learn and move on. Your on the right path

        • I did see it, and I even was there confronting him about it. The things he said may be wrong, but it’s wrong to talk when he’s not there and disrespect him.
There is some good there, it’s just hard to see at times. 🙂

  2. Island Challenge Trails based on info:
Lana – Finding a rare or special Water-Type.
    Mallow – Finding four ingredients.
    Sophocles – Solving a puzzle.
Kiawe – Finding the difference in dances.
Still, that incoming Fire or Fire/Ground Marowak.

  3. Really dissapointed with the Alolan forms. Never had an issue with any Gen except this one. And of the starters the only cool one is Rowlets evo.

  4. If there’s anything I wonder, it would have to be where the name Z Moves comes from. Could it have ties to Zygarde and a potential Kalos postgame?

        • They look like Pokemon to me… because their Pokemon. They don’t look to bad to me! We have feminine looking male Pokemon.

          Reply
        • It doesn’t either to me. Try a different starter or use one from previous generation. All hope is lost for me. It’s not that it’s feminine because I love gardevoir, it’s just ugh.

          Reply
          • But what if they’re all bad. It kind of ruins the fun of playing the game with a starter. At least for me.

          • Well you’re allowed to have your opinions, but I have no problem with ditching a starter if I’d rather use something else. However, there’s always been at least one starter that I liked, and with the last three generations I’ve loved the underdogs (Popplio3, Delphox, and Samurott).

          • Delphox was no underdog (at least, in the beginning, before final evolutions were revealed). I was team Chespin from the beginning until the end <3
I liked Popplio, but dislike it's final evo :/

          • I was speaking of the final evolutions, not the basic stages. It’s a pretty common consensus that Delphox and Samurott were the most hated of their trios.

          • I used Delphox and samurott and enjoyed as well. It most likely will come down to using a previous starter or maybe the grass one will grown on me, who knows.

  5. team:
    Rowlet
    Alolan Sandshrew (uh duh)
    Rockruff (depends on final)

and pending, I think other alolan versions of gen 1.

  6. Thanks for clarifying this! I was wondering what rumours were confirmed exactly.

My main thought on all this:

-Still divided between my love for the rowlet evo, my dissapointment in the popplio one, and my hatred for cancerous luchador tony the tiger. Eh, I’ll warm up to them.

-The other bits of the rumour look tantalising though, as do the extra rumours posted by people below Though multiple starter evos is kind of a red flag for this new 4chan thing. For a second I thought this rumour had been well constructed in a short time, but turns out it’s from April. This makes me highly suspicious of it as it actually doesn’t have any overlap with the new info (or the chinese rumours for that matter) other than the base concept. It seems more like the op came up with his own concept for regional variation and got lucky. Read their post, no mention of type changing (unlike everything that’s legit, plus the chinese rumour), and no actual pokemon overlapping apart from a vague mention of dodrio. You know what, I’m calling fake on it IMO.

-Z moves I’m completely indifferent to, not excited or annoyed but happy you need to carry the item so it’s not broken AF, makes standard pokemon and prevos somewhat able to compete with megas, I like that. They also seem to kill the idea of synchro, and thank Arceus. Could still be wrong on that, but I really hope not. Alola forms are so much of a better idea.

-Dafuq we’re getting our next news as soon as the 12th? Smells like corocoro preemption to me..

    A few other thoughts:

    – Lurantis not bug type, thanks trollfreak…though the suggestions it’s supposed to be a reversed mantis orchid do save this for me, if true.

-OK why the hell are they “Z” moves and why “Z” power? Something to do with Zygarde or pokemon Z? According to Masuda interviews from the Japan Expo (from Pokebip, probs the biggest french site I believe), they didn’t really even consider making a Z, they just wanted to go straight to the next step… Which goes against this being named in reference to a scrapped Z version. But then again it’s too soon for Gamefreak to look good (in their eyes judging by their secretive nature) revealing the scrapped a game, and trollfreak be trollfreak and also wetellyouonlywhatwewanttotellyouFreak, so you never know, he may very well have been obfuscating to hide things, he’s not averse to it… Or it could just be stuff to do with Zygarde, as others have suggested. Wow this gen is getting complicated.

-What with the Alola variant pokemon, and gamefreak reducing the number of new pokemon in XY because megas took up new design slots, I fear we’ll barely get more pokemon than XY. Well, maybe if they go with the “odd gens=130-160 new pokemon” ethic, we’ll get a hundred or so (eh, that’s actually pretty good compared to XY). And alarmingly they’re still being overzealous with the reveals… Don’t you dare reveal over 50% of the pokedex or all the new forms again Gamefreak! That’s just an absolutely sh*t marketing strategy and disappointing for most fans.

-Also I’m calling it now, thanks to variants, no new megas. Hope it ain’t true, but I’d rather not get my hopes up. And that’s if we even get megas. I’m not expecting them to be dumb (or ballsy, or both) enough to remove them, but some people suggesting it is enough to scare me. I’m backing those who think megas will be postgame, there’s way too much mechanics to deal with in the main story as is.

    – The suggestion from the Alola form descriptions that we get stat changes does give fighting alakazam a bit more potential sense stats wise, assuming they don’t go the troll route and leave it with unusable attack. But wait what happens to mega alakazam?? does it become fighting too? Another mega instead? So many weird implications from this!

-And a final treat theory for those who read this far: What if yungoos were hunting alolan dark-type ratatas all along?

    Reply
    • Well regarding Corocoro, I’m guessing they have been de-emphasized as a source of info since they have to print the thing by the 12th (?) to get it on the streets by the 15th, so the possibility for leaks of people getting the magazine early is just too high.

Well the reason for calling them Z-moves is still a mystery, but I’m guessing it does have something to do with Zygarde. Maaaaaybe Zygarde is part of a postgame mission that unlocks these powers?

  7. Instead of bashing the starters; what Alola form are you all looking forward to the most? For now, it looks exclusive to the Kanto region, but I hope other regions are involved. I really want to see the Water Growlithe Line! Yet, we’re getting a bunch of Fighting Types. I kinda want to see a Ghost Type Abra Line.

  8. Hmm. I’ve given it a lot of thought, but here’s my current team for S/M.
    Popplio
    Fomantis
    Rockruff
    Salandit
    Some form of Oricorio
    Alolan Sandshrew

But as more Pokemon get revealed, we’ll have to see where this list goes!

  9. What I like about these new Pokemon is how lively and full of character they are. From the small descriptions given on the site to the idle animations of the Pokemon in-game, GameFreak is going out of their way to ensure that each and every one of them have their own little unique detail. I highly appreciate the effort that they have put in this game.

  10. Definitely getting Rowlet as my starter. However, I do love the designs of the other two starters. Popplio reminds me of Ariel and Litten reminds me of the beast from The Boy and the Beast. Honestly, I don’t understand the hate the starters are getting; these are very well designed Pokemon and unless you somehow got the games early, how can you judge something based solely on appearance? Just as the old saying goes: don’t judge a book by its cover. GameFreak is truly changing and spicing things up after 20 years of the same formula and I could not be happier. Instead of focusing on the negative aspects, try to see the positive side so that your level of excitement does not slump. 😀

  11. Seriously. I know opinions clash and I’m not trying to start a heated debate, but why do people dislike the final evolutions? At the start, I hated them and regared them as fake. Now, I’ve warmed up to their designs as they gleam with personality! I’m a little mad that Litten isn’t on all fours, but that’s it.

    • I’m just upset because for once I was excited for Popplio
      But now it’s disgusting
Sure Litten’s badass but that means choosing Litten….ill probably do everything to make it evolve fast

      Reply
    • when they were first introduced I disliked both litten and Popplio and was in love with Rowlet, now with the finals I hated both rowlet final and litten final, but instantly loved popplio final, now I have warmed up to the litten final and slowly warming up to rowlet final.

I think people just need to give things a chance

    • Beauty is based on the eye of the beholder. I think it’s due to how feminine Popplio is and how cliche Litten is. One broke a trope, the other one is too commonplace. I don’t understand the feminine argument for Popplio as males in the wild tend to have more colors and are more vivid compared to females and thought that was an old century thinking style, but color me surprised. As for Litten, people are tired of having muscular and masculine fire-starters as opposed to more creative and non-bipedal ones.

      Reply
      • This yo. A lot of starters in the past few gens have been highly detailed bipeds and it’s just not my gig, especially when–sigh–this one looks like yet another typical fire/fighting mashup. Even if it isn’t actually that type that’s how it looks. And the seel is just overdone on the feminine nature. Dewgong always struck me as a pretty and feminine Pokemon but not in the overblown creepy way this one comes off… only redeeming factor about it is that it seems a counterpart for masculine looking samurott. But yah, haven’t been this disappointed with starters in a while, and as I haven’t liked a full set since sapphire that’s even more sad.

        Reply
    • Well I don’t hate them anymore. I was only really dissapointed by Rowlet3’s strange design anyway but I’ve learned to love it 🙂

    • I never cared about the owl (even forgot its name) so it doesn’t really matter how its final evo is. I really disliked Popplio but if I get a female one I’m ok with the Siren. But what killed me was Litten: I loved it since the starters where announced. I love the alchemy symbol, the fact that it’s a cat and that it looks like my own cat. Its final evo should’ve been slim and on all fours, and definitely not fire/fighting (they’re so original). Even though I still love Litten I refuse to use that final evo, just like I do with Emboar.

      Reply
    • For me, I don’t like Litten’s final form because it looks like another Fire/Fighting type, which at this point is boring AF and they should just not make any more pokemon (at least starters) with that typing. Plus, I liked LItten because it was cute, and it’s the only starter of the 3 whose final form isn’t cute in some way.

For Popplio, I actually really like the final form, I just think it kind of comes out of nowhere because it’s so distinctly feminine while the starter form doesn’t look specifically feminine at all. I’d like it better if Popplio looked a little more like something that would evolve into that.

      Reply
    • I love that Litten one. I wouldn’t completely rule him out as being Fire/Dark yet: he could be the “bad guy” wrestler that you can’t help but love.

If it’s the final evolution, I may not pick Popplio after all.

      Reply
    • I have nothing against Popplio’s evo.
      The wrestling tiger is awful.
I don’t have an issue with fire-fighting starters, I just have an issue with this one.

  12. What if they pull another Gen 6 and focus on reinventing old Pokémon instead of making new ones. That’s the only thing I’m worried about.
