The Chinese Rumor & Leaked Starter Evolutions Confirmed True + MORE

With the latest Pokémon Sun & Moon information, we can now say that the rumors seem to be true. Not only the Poké Riding, but at least with the leaked Starter Evolutions we can clearly see one of the Trial Captains in the art, and the final evolution of Litten is probably holding two of its middle evolutions.

4chan Rumor

For now these are going to be de-confirmed since a number of Pokémon listed appear not to be getting an Alolan form

  • The anime’s Ash-Greninja will appear in the game
  • Alolan Rattata & Raticate are Dark-type
  • Alolan Butterfree is Bug/Psychic
  • Alolan Abra, Kadabra & Alakazam are Fighting-type
  • Alolan Nidoking & Nidoqueen are Poison/Fighting-type
  • Alolan Growlithe & Arcanine are Water-type
  • Alolan Doduo & Dodrio are Fighting/Flying-type
  • The previous versions of Pokémon which have taken on new forms will only be accessible by bringing in from older games
  • Furfrou gets new styles
  • New cat Pokémon varies in type and appearance based on breeding
  • There is a new snowman Pokémon line with two stages and it is Ice/Ghost
  • Not to get hopes up, but there may be two final evolutions for each starter

Chinese Rumor

  • There will be no traditional Gyms and no Pokémon League in Alola. Your goal is to actually create one. After you do, an Elite 4 will appear which are the leaders of each island
  • The final starter evolutions will be an Archer, a Wrestler and a Siren
  • The diamond stones will be collectible throughout the region and act similarly to Mega Stones but not exactly
  • New Pokémon based on a dolphin, sea cucumber, snowman, mushroom and a rugby monkey are there
  • Rockruff’s evolution is a Werewolf
  • Mashadow, another copyrighted Pokémon name, has a very unique type combo

  1. So wonder how the progression of taking on the Trial Captains and Kahunas will be. It seems like Mallow is on the island to the east of MeleMele so I wonder Who’s on MeleMele. Also I suppose the fact that Hala is called a Kahuna rather than on of the captains mean that there are 3 other Kahunas to battle? I wonder if you have to beat all the trails first and then go back and challenge the Kahunas or if you take each island one at a time to completion. This whole thing is making me so excited!!! It’s been so long since I actually was excited about a Pokemon game to this degree. We have no idea how things are gonna go this time around and that makes it crazy interesting lol

    • From what I gathered from the official info, you have to beat all the trials on the island, then beat the Kahuna to move onto the next island. Beating him proves you beat all the trials and you can move on closer to being the Champion 🙂

      • Interesting. I imagine there will be mini bosses along the the trials too. I can’t imagine the captains are the only trainers you have to get through in order to complete the journey lol

    • It makes me think that the game will be like: Welcome to this island! Now go explore. I loved the finding things out for yourself aspect of gen 1 so being able to explore the islands at your own pace would be awesome!

  2. Well, we all need to admit that the ability GF has to completely screw promising starters is marvelous. I mean, I don’t think that even on my worst day I’d be able to turn a nice black cat into Tony The Tiger’s ill-fated cousin.

    • I personally love all of them (except it’s difficult to like Litten 3). I think Popplio and Rowlet evolve into amazing things, and simplicity wasn’t sacrificed for those two.

  3. Ironic I suppose, because if the final evolution of Rowlet is based on the English Robin Hood, then it’ll look like the French Empoleon had finally met it’s Waterloo.

  4. ~ My Thoughts on the New Pokemon ~

    – Gumshoos: A great follow-up to Yungoos, retaining the simple color pallet while incorporating just enough nuances to truly give it its own niche, 3/5
    – Mudbray: As many of us speculated, Mudsale indeed has a pre-evolution and a great one at that with the mud aesthetics and a cute design to boot, 3.5/5
    – Minior: Simple, unique, and odd in a good way, 3/5
    – Fomantis: Cute, elegant, and very well designed, 3/5
    – Lurantis: Possibly one of the best Grass-type Pokemon designs and is truly a magnificent creature, 4/5
    – Oricorio: Unique forms, great design for each form boasting spritz of colors and gives off a great tropical bird feel, 3/5
    – Alolan Vulpix and Ninetails: Beautiful, gorgeous, what more can I say? 4/5
    – Alolan Sandshrew and Sandslash: Great designs, especially for Sandslash with those icy spikes on its back, 3.5/5
    – Alolan Exeggutor: Odd design but done very well with it giving off the most amount of Gen 1 vibes design wise, 3.5/5

  5. Just a thought, but with Vulpix and Sandshrew being Version exclusive to Pokemon Blue, and Growlithe being rumored to have a Alolan form, does anyone else think Ekans will get a Alolan form?

  6. Wait so what will happen to mega pokemon? Is it COMPLETELY removed or just no new mega pokemon are coming and they might nerf some of the older ones….

    Reply
    • I think it may just be no new megas. But with all thats changing this gen i wouldn’t be surprised if they took it out even with how much it changed the meta game. It’ll be a shame if they take megas out for some cause it what made some pokemon relevant. (Lopunny, Mawhile, etc)

      Reply
      • True, or they nerf mega’s like Kangaskhan (nerf Parental Bond and its stats) and nerf Mawhile (stats cuz that attack is crazy).

And maybe they add it as a postgame quest….

  7. I really don’t thing we’re going to have a villinous team thins time around. I mean the formula is already getting torn to shreds. This gen is looking like it’s goona be focused on the pokemon and the world itself rather than the conflicts within it

    • I would actually be happy with this. If they don’t have a good concept for an evil team, don’t make one at all. As soon as they come up with a creative concept they can make one again.

  8. My thoughts on the new Pokemon:

Gumshoos: Good follow up to Yungoos, let the Donald Trump jokes continue! 8/10
Mudbray: So cute! Great pre-evolution to the Mudsdale that I plan to put on my team of six Pokemon. 10/10
Minior: Not my favorite design of the six new ones revealed. But not bad either. 5/10
Oricorio: Excellent designs that give off the vibes to different dances of different cultures. I especially love the one with the Japanese motif. 10/10
Fomantis: Cute but simple. Nothing really stands out to me. 7/10
Lurantis: A good design. But again, nothing really stands out 7/10

    Alolan Pokemon:

Sandshrew: 10/10 Love the cute little igloo like fortress on it’s back.
Sandslash: 10/10 Love the Crystals that poke out of it’s back.
Vulpix: 8/10 A good design. But the tail to me looks off as it’s covered by mist.
Ninetales: 10/10 Very majestic! Love the design and typing!

  9. I see Arbok getting an Alola form. The pattern on its belly should change and maybe look a bit more menacing.

I love Arbok but it really needs some new love. Especially with Sandsrew getting some.

  10. Alolan Ninetales live on a snowy peak that is revered in the Alola region as a holy mountain. They are treated as sacred emissaries, and people meet them with awe and fear. This Pokémon’s personality is extremely gentle, and at times it has helped humans who seem to be in distress. However, it shows no mercy at all to anyone or anything that dares to damage its territory!

Ninetale’s description. This is legit my favorite pokemon now. I was actually using it in Soul Silver in my current playthrough so I’m goona have my Kanosian, Johtoian and Alolian Ninetales. Together, they are 27tales!

  11. So, I’ve been constantly saying how gen 6 felt very empty and boring.
I liked gen 5 a lot because GameFreak went out of the box and showed their creativity.
So I’m really happy (after fully processing this news) with how they are changing the game to make it fresh and a new experience.
I can’t wait and I wonder how the legendaries play into the story and lore. Sun and Moon look to be some amazing games and I’m more hype for them than I was for X and Y!

  12. Wow I had to find out about Alolan formes on FB a few minutes ago…
I was peeved at first but when I looked at the trailer with all the new things, I have to say Im impressed. Sun and Moon is very original! I mean, the island challenge, trials, totem pokemon (with their many vs 1 battles), Kahunas, Z-MOVES! Well done game freak! Just well done! :’)

  13. Are we not going to talk about the fact that the leaker said that, “Not to get hopes up, but there may be two final evolutions for each starter” ?!?

If this^ is true, I’d be fine with the leaked final evolutions because there will be a secondary final evolution too!
